I was once asked how I progressed in my technical career.
Be willing
Be willing

Career Progress

I replied: By being willing; By being vulnerable and okay with making mistakes (correcting afterward); By listening to understand the business need (or the bigger picture); By always being first to raise my hand and volunteer when our department was implementing anything new (not only software); By always learning why the new gadget was important to the business; By transferring skills to new processes; By doing whatever it took to help the team be successful; By applying timely criticism to the benefit of a current task (only late or public criticism bothers me); By taking classes; By attending every conference (and presented also), anytime I could; By applying my intellect. Yes, being willing is a solid first step to career advancement.

We Are All Connected.

Many blessings to you in ALL ways. OM

  1. I like your husband’s song. The style and lyrics sound like Bonnie Raitt, whom I adore. Hope she adopts the song! Say, I saw you signed up for Life Adventures blog, because I mistakenly sent people there with my link. Thanks! Please check out Fake Flamenco (now directed to it correctly : ) and I invite you to subscribe there instead – my active blog. Gracias! -Rebecca
