My daughter and I went to a dance class last night where I saw many dancers of different race, culture, sexual orientation, etc. and I found myself being delighted at how well everyone did, totally enraptured by the dancing, paying attention to the instructors, and wrapped in the love of music and community!

My daughter and me —Sheila Murrey

I only danced a little because my daughter didn’t want to try it, so we mostly sat and talked. It was a different scene for us. But we really enjoyed having mother daughter time, and people watching! I only recognized three songs out of the 2.5 hours we were there.

To get an idea of the size of the dance floor. There was an upstairs where more people could hang out and dance too, but we didn’t go up there.

Here are a few short clips of the dancing (I took these mostly to capture the type of music they used):

Dancing 1
Dancing 2
Dancing 3
Dancing 4

Do you know the songs? Let me know in the comments.

Feeling it, or not

I can’t say I felt GodBumps while listening to the music last night or from watching all the people dance, but I had an enjoyable and refreshing experience. I was a bit disheartened that none of the music I heard matched up to the level that my husband’s produced over the years (no ego here), and that I don’t know what else to do to get his songs out (in a massive way) to prove that. Perhaps, it’s just something that will never happen. And I have to accept that.

Syncronisticly, a friend sent me this “good example of AI” / positive (her words) this morning. I had heard about this mashup but hadn’t seen it til now. I am curious what you’ll think of it:

Presidents singing, “We Are The World.”

Yours in expanding, revolving, limitless, spiraling consciousness,

To our better health, ease, and sustaining lives of JOY! (With lots of Gratitude throughout.)

  3. It looks like you and your daughter had a fab evening and no the music wasn’t as good as Richard’s. That was a very funny rendition of “We Are the World.” Too bad a lot of those singing don’t put it into practice.
