It’s October 3rd, 2024; We have an original country duet song sung by Ray Barnette and Julie Manners. Though Richard wrote this before he met me, it could be the story of my life! Steven Cooper of Nashville, TN did this delightful pro demo for us.
Here’s the two-hundred-seventy-fifth new music post for 2024, as I consistently present new original songs for ALL to enjoy (or learn from).
Hey (hay) is for horses
I am not perfect, nor do I know it ALL. But I continue to lean into what interests me and enjoy reading many blog articles and books. I continue to inform myself, mind, spirit, and soul. While it may not be necessary for us to grow our soul, for me, right now, it is of value to do so. I can visualize growing larger wings, or building a bigger spiritual nest, for which I could enjoy on the Other Side. I can also imagine one day hearing the words, “…my child, in whom I am well-pleased.”
I may be a talking horse, like Mr. Ed (for those who remember that old TV series), and I know people have short attention spans, so I’ll just give you this piece of advice. It helped me after praying (years ago) for God to lift me out of depression (or dark night of the soul). It is this, “Make a choice and commitment to create your life, instead of live it by default.” If you want to know more about this and why I feel it transformed my life, just ask. “Do not conform to the pattern (Programming) of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2.
Learning (and leaning into) ALL ways

Re-blogging others posts
I will be re-blogging posts from my favorite bloggers so we can all learn together. From politics to World Religions, I think it’s important to increase our knowledge and understanding of the world and ALL people. This also helps us balance. As much as I pray and acknowledge the limitless source Energy of Omniscience God, I know I was given a brain and all of my senses to learn and understand my fellow living beings. But as much as I learn and understand I know I won’t know it all. Life’s a process in ALL ways.

Everything happens for a reason
Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. Even if we have to disconnect from some people, for a time.
Enjoy (IN Joy) everything and love! Be Everything All the Time. Let’s soar in ’24!
Yours in expanding, always moving forward, spiraling consciousness,
Sheila “Spiral Sister” Murrey

Attention span has become problematic with current social media platforms. Twitter in its early short format word count was a starter. But TickTock and Facebook are really similar. Thank the heavens for this, and other, blog sites. Fantastic platforms for sharing. Great song too. Cheers Sheila.

You are sooo right, Gray! The whole short word format was one reason I stayed off Twitter for awhile when it first came out. And I am typically an ‘early adopter’ of social sites (or were), though now, I certainly am behind. I just don’t care, except to market our songs. And I know there’s still power in creating awareness though mostly through short clips because we just recently watched the interview with the comedian Leanne Morgan, who became known to a much wider audience when she hired two young men to post short clips of her on YouTube and other video platforms.
We simply don’t have the money to hire a publicist (as other performers have) to get the word out, so I do all I can do on my own.
And yes, most days I feel like I am spitting in the ocean 🌊. Ugh!
Yet, I have hope, even if that’s foolish of me.

It only takes one special moment Sheila. A band called The Flys were amazing songwriters. We were all in the same musical crowd. They got signed by EMI with heavy promotion. Put two albums out and played on the radio and TV. But never made it. Dave, the guitarist started another band. Toured with the Eurythmics and Annie Lennox loved his song ‘No more I love you’s’ and the rest is history.
I read Shep’s (Harmonica Riff Raff) latest blog on the harp/sax player Stevie Williams who played harp to the rhythm of a Harley Davidson exhaust being used as a drum! Stevie went on to play with John Farnham. Shep interviewed him, (link to that gem of an interview on his latest Harley blog) and Stevie spoke of how he was a lucky guy. Being in the right place at the right time. Promotional endeavour? Sometimes going with the flow can give great vibes too. People feel no pressure and accept more willingly. Like being forcefully handed promotional leaflets in the street or seeing them sitting nicely arranged on a little stand on a market stall. They both find their way into your possession. The one on the market stall though was a personal decision to pick it up and can lead you to look and investigate further. Cheers Sheila.

Thank you so much, Gray! Great advice about the promo stuff, very “go with the flow” and suits me just fine. And I will check out the Harmonica Riff Raff blog. Cheers, Gray.

Advice is a double edged sword really. It’s good to simply reflect and talk of one’s own belief’s. It helps one’s own self confidence to just say how it is that one feels about one’s own philosophy’s. Also, by doing so, you’re subconsciously giving yourself a revisit to reflect on your own inner belief’s and whether they are your ‘truth’ and therefore appropriate to your own actions.
Promo is too proactive for myself. By simply going with one’s own inner satisfaction and the ongoing belief that it assisting one’s own well being is actually pretty awesome. It boils down to living for the fun of it all and letting the music, stories, and social exchanges tell their own stories. That’s priceless. Richard’s and your own creativity’s are building their own promotion. You have sought and sorted out the various platforms to allow the World to listen and read.
Promotion. Isn’t it all about internets and site algorithms nowadays? That’s pretty complex technology and mind blowing to be honest.
Cheers Sheila.

Ah, yes, Gray. Social interactions (like this) are fun and keep me going. And internet algorithms are mind blowing. You are right on. Thank you again, for encouraging me, Gray.

This WP platform gives motivation for sure. And exchanges being the way they are gives calmness too.
Just bought a Yamaha DD65 electronic drum pad kit of eBay for plugging into and accessing GarageBand. Want to get the whole package of instruments played coming from myself. Drum rhythms on GB are brilliant but they do require a lot of deep analysis for changes in order to get a more natural feel for the songs. And for my addled technophobe brain……that’s a step too far. So next week should see a more natural input.
I’m saying this because it is possibly something you and Richard may think about for future recordings. You can YouTube the DD65 and check out its possibilities. Cheers Sheila.

That’s an excellent idea, Gray. About the DD65. We’ll check it out.

And….No. It is NOT foolish of you to continue to spit into the ocean. Hope and belief in yourself is an amazing attribute. 😊
