It’s January 20th, 2024; This original song is about testifying and satisfying our needs. I bet it could be understood in different ways. Ask me what you need to know. But I may not reveal everything I know. We all hide things. Secrets. We may not even acknowledge our personal guilt, shame, or sins we’ve committed in the past (and have not been caught).

A song about testifying

Here’s the twentieth new music post for 2024, as I consistently extend to you one of our original songs each day this year. This might be a Pop or Rock ballad song. Let me know what you think. It’s definitely NOT Country. It presents a timely topic for us now, with Disclosure coming out on many things (not only UAP/UFO things, but history, political figures, etc.)

Come clean

I see Acceptance as part of Shadow.

Like every experience in our lives, this is personal. I was telling my husband (Richard) at breakfast this morning that someone in my blogging community (who are WOKE) has still not learned to accept without attachment the fact that someone they otherwise love and have followed for years, like J.K. Rowling or Roseanne, can put one wrong tweet out and get them all sensitive and feathers ruffled. And then the ruffled ones stop following their favorite author, blogger, or celebrity, or worse, cancel them and speak ill of them. The jokes on them at that point as karma will bring that back to visit them.

It’s not a hex to face the reality of a situation. It’s a hex to start judging and tampering with things we know not of the full expression yet. And why I was given the statement, We each learn at differing rates of speed. And why we are not yet (perhaps in our glorified bodies one day when we are pure) to judge anyone. It’s not only “judge not” it’s “those without sin, cast the first stone” and no one yet living is pure enough to do that. It’s often those who say “love and light” who do not fully embody unconditional love, unfortunately.

Non-attachment to acknowledge and feel better

As I wrote in my post on January 4th, we are all learning. As I learn, I discern, and yes, I do boycott some businesses, but more because I want to vote with my dollars and align with those who share my ideals today–fully acknowledging their ideals could change tomorrow, or my understanding or perceptions could change tomorrow.

I am wise enough to know there’s no way to fully know another person (per one of my favorite quotes of all time). Those who throw J.K. Rowling or Marion Zimmer Bradley under the bus for perceived wrongs are really missing the boat. I am not condoning hurtful or abusive actions, but one never knows who they are sitting beside. Or what it may do in the future, good or bad.

Six Feet Under quote, “You can’t ever really know a person. If you think you can, you’re living in a f’n dream world.”

I want to come clean and live my life as an open book, which is why I blog. I have a clear conscience. I am the type of person who could not sleep at night if I didn’t have a clear conscience.

Also, I want to express the truth of myself before others spin my stories to suit their purposes. So, I testify here. But I continue to uncover more about my soul, uncover memories of the hurtful past, and perhaps not everyone needs to read about all that. Perhaps it would only bring pain to others to learn of the traumas I experienced.

The kaleidoscope shows all the broken fragments and fractals as ONE. So, for now, I accept the bad with the good. I do what I can to help (like supporting Operation Underground Railroad), pray for “all the captives to be set free,” and write uplifting posts, while acknowledging we aren’t there yet (pure, wholesome, much less perfect).

May we all soar in ’24!

  1. I can’t turn reading all the blogs of those I follow (from accessing Reader on the app) into daily routines currently. It’s frustrating at times having to then backpedal and catch up. But it is nice to spend an hour or two then reading a variety of different themes. Your uploads are always good reads and, as said previously, hold interesting discussion within each one. The music is a welcome addition too. J K Rowling is simply stating logic. I love her for her views. Women should be able to keep their own identity and be respected for owning that identity. Staying safe too. Too many people on social media are aggressive in nature of response to anything discussed in all areas nowadays. You can write ‘ I love oranges.’ And receive a reply of ‘So what have you got against apples. What’s wrong with apples?’ I wrote on FB about someone swapping the labels on foods in the supermarket re: meat and vegetarian options. Laughing emoji accompanying. The comments had support of the action…with laughing emojis too. I commented and said that apart from the ethics involved, there were also allergies to consider too. Dangerous to people if eaten. Allergies that could cause anaphylaxis. I got called a Nazi. I never comment on anything on social platforms anymore. WordPress blogging is a safe space. Positivity and kindness exist. Also knowledgeable exchanges. That is why I also love ‘enthusiast membership site’ exchanges. Like VeeDub Bus owners, love of fountain pens, sharing music, discussing fashion, reviews of perfume, shared knitting patterns, etc. Discussion and camaraderie. We have respect for each other. May that always be the case. Cheers Sheila.

    1. I had a long reply written and then lost it (though I took a screen capture), so will send it later. “J K Rowling is simply stating logic.” Yes, I hear you, Gray, and agree. And I am okay with those who disagree if they don’t berate or cancel me (or her). This whole cancel culture really irritates me (and then I work my own processes to feel more ease again). I always love and respect your replies. Never worry about Time, Gray. We will exchange as we can. You are aWEsOMe and your encouragement is always appreciated. ALLways.

    2. Gray, here’s my earlier “lost” comment:
Thank you sooo much for your ALLways thoughtful and gracious feedback!
I quit commenting on several social media platforms (some years ago) especially in ‘groups’ because of the snippy/rude/disrespectful return replies, so I totally understand what you’re saying here. I typically only reply and post meaningful comments on individual posts on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram and if these aren’t well received, I turn off my ‘Follow’ of them, or if the fire is especially detrimental, I unfollow/unfriend, etc. too. But I don’t burn people, thus was the situation I vaguely refer to here in my post referring to JK Rowling. I’ve never read her books, but my eldest granddaughter is reading all the Harry Potter books (as of this past year) and enjoying them. And when we toured Ireland, England, and Scotland in 2019, we went to the bookstore where she is said to have written her famous books.
I suppose my overarching point is that I won’t judge someone on one tweet or even what they say today because I feel we’re all too multidimensional, can change our minds, and are complex beings. Depending on the circumstance any of our views can change, or bend slightly. And I feel we’re all subject to ‘Programming.’
I agree with you that WordPress seems like a safer and more cohesive environment in which to share deeply. Those other sites all feel very shallow to me (ugh, there’s a word I abhor, Shallow)! Ha!
I appreciate you going back several days to read or listen to the songs on my blogs, especially since I didn’t announce my plans at the end of 2023 that I was going to start posting daily in 2024! But I have no expectations of anyone (much less you, with so much on your plate, musically and artistically) to keep up with these or even listen to all of them. I honor your time and commitments and am simply thrilled you can take any time at all to listen/reply to little old me. You’re so sincere and helpful, Gray. You are a LIGHT!
p.s. You are so right about ‘allergies’ and this is proof again of how unique each of us are. Cheers right back to you, Gray, as always.

      1. Very thoughtful to reply like this Sheila. As nurses we study/studied ethics. To nurse every single human being with the same level of care. Avoiding discrimination and focusing on patient centred care. So it simply goes hand in hand with all of life’s considerations. I feel nowadays there are keyboard users that target and confront simply because they can. Nowadays, positivity is always sought in my own life. The subjects of many posts, as you say, have much complexity. There is no complexity however in the single minded responses witnessed. Insulting and rudeness exists. Ah well Sheila. It is nice, as you say, to find this stress free environment that is WP. Blogging is very worthwhile and promotes positive energy. All the best.

      2. What a grand goal (or focus) to have, Gray, positivity. Yes! I sooo agree. I seek calm, peace, and ease for sure. Mainstays of my life, so perhaps my purpose (and I feel we have talked about before). Speaking of complexity, this year for us in the states, things are probably going to get more complex as this election cycle heats up. Let me apologize in advance to you and those who will not want to see any political rants or posts from me! I will try harder to focus on my aforementioned purpose and try not to put much political stuff out there—there’s already enough.
Also, I got a couple comments from you to my email, but there was no Reply button for me to respond, nor did they show up in the Jetpack app. Ugh! Just know I read them and acknowledge everything you offer always, Gray. Again, you are always appreciated!

      3. I don’t understand the email link Sheila. I do have strange Jetpack blips too. Like someone else’s avatar to another’s reply or comment. And my reader drop down list misses out favourite bloggers. They are no longer there! I have to go hunt for them on the search bar or the internet. I had much negativity during nursing stress. So, retired from it all, am now focused upon positivity. Good for well being. And…..We have elections this year too. But politicians are all the same it seems. Terrible! Who to choose! 🙄 All the best Sheila.

      4. I don’t understand the email thing either except I guess it wanted me to log in, though I am always logged in via Jetpack. Ugh. I don’t know why I could read two of your comments to me within the email notifications but not reply. I am still digging into this via my laptop and the WordPress app. Maybe the comments went to my spam box. Oh, Technology!

I bet you experienced a lot of stress while working as a nurse, Gray. I still remember some of our first chats and how you helped me gain more perspective on nursing (to help lighten me up on one of my aunts). And appreciate so much more the work my first friend, Joe, did as a nursing supervisor. He passed in Jan. 2021.

Oh, elections there this year too? Oh, we are sure in for a bumpy ride, aren’t we?! Ha! I think I am choosing now, in this moment, not to post anything political on my blog (though we do have a couple generic anthem songs)! Ha!
All the best to you too, Gray.

      5. The only thing that happens in my emails are notifications to my site. There are no notifications anyone has uploaded blogs. Everything happens within the App. I then click on the 3 dots with the blogs I want to access for the whole internet proper site experience. Some blogs may only have a photograph or small few lines I tend to App read. The internet is slow with us here presently and it can take high photograph quality anything up to 5 minutes to come through. We have ordered a new box and may look into fibre.

Nursing was the most intense of any career choice and did make me fairly ill at times mentally. But my absence from work was non existent. I hardly ever had a day off. Long hours too. So it’s very nice being retired.

Our current government is terrible. So are the main opposition. A lot of thought now as to who to put a cross in the box for! Cheers Sheila.

  2. This is very good, and I enjoyed it a lot. I don’t really like putting music in a box but if my life depended on it I’d label this as blues-rock, which is no bad thing at all!

  3. Your husband is a very talented musician and you have a pretty good singing voice yourself. I think you might like the other blog I write on WordPress as well. It’s called Peaceful Rampage and it deals with issues related to my second book, “He Was Weird,” like mental health, autism, bullying and school shootings. I hope you’ll check it out. Oh yes, I also post inspirational song lyrics there too.

    1. Very cool, Metal. I’ll check out Peaceful Rampage. And thank you as well, for your kind words about my talented husband (I think so too!) and my singing. I am now going to add a note on these posts that these are sung by pros and for people to hear me they have to go back to my home page. Wink! Much appreciated.
