Talk to me about the deep things

Rollin’ in the deep

I always want to be here for you, as you have been here for me. To talk about the deep things. The things that really matter.

Talk about what matters
Talk about what matters

I know and understand that you and I might not be able to talk about these things in person. And that’s okay. You PM me on Facebook, or comment on my posts, and then we have email, Skype, or Google Hangout conversations. And every conversation, every one of you, matter to me. You inspire me to share deep thoughts via my Facebook posts and this blog, even though, I’v never personally met some of you.

I now have friends in Australia and England that I might never had had were it not for this blog. I am humbled and grateful. Not one of you has ever taken advantage of my time. For everything always happens in Divine time.

Some of you have reached out to me when you were going through  your “dark night of the soul”, perhaps because something in one of my blog posts resonated with you deeply. And I am forever changed, for the better, for our conversing on these important matters.

But it is not about me. It’s much larger than that. It’s about each of us knowing we can find someone to connect with on this beautiful planet of ours, even when we do not feel close enough to reach out to anyone.

In the dark

You have raised odd concerns and fears to me. I’ve held them close to my heart. I’ve pondered and responded only when I felt I had something I could offer. Mostly, it’s been that I care and that I’ll listen. (Well, “read” I guess is the better way of stating it.)

I feel my soul purpose in life is to listen and talk with others only about the deep things. Does that make sense?

I’ve never been a “small talk” kind of person. I like to dig deeper. I love to help connect people and assist them to heal wounds. I only hurt when others who’ve been in my circle do not (for whatever reason) find that they can talk with me. I am here. I’m available. And I am working on a way where we can all work together as we awaken.

An accountability partner

I can coach you, or simply point you to a healthier path. I can assist you to integrate all we’ve learned together. We can practice emotional freedom technique (EFT) together to ease body and mind. We can share and enjoy videos or songs together.

When you need someone to remind you to be as water, I am here. If you need God, you only need acknowledge your closeness to the Divine is as near to you as your next breath. You are never alone.

Why all the different religions?

Why the different religions?

Because people cannot agree. And because once a mind believes something, it’s difficult to change it. This is why it is easier to train a child than help a broken adult.

Why all the different religions?
Why all the different religions?

What I believe

I believe in Jesus, and the Christ consciousness that is crying out from within each of us to be Connected with God, however I no longer identify with the Christian label because it seems to align with a belief that Jesus is the ONLY son of God. Yes, I have an issue with the word “only.” I see that as an error in translation.
I follow Jesus’ teachings of:
  • Not judging. He who is without sin, cast the first stone. This also pairs nicely with my knowing that “everything has value.”
  • Forgiving. Father, forgive them. They know not what they do. We can learn just as much from those who hurt us, as we can from those who treat us well, though obviously, we all want to be treated kindly, be accepted, be loved.
  • Loving. Love thy neighbor as thyself. And… love thy enemies, which includes loving all mankind. And if you have an issue with this, read again the parable about the Good Samaritan which makes it clear that “love your neighbor” means to love all persons, everywhere – not just our friends, allies, people of our country or ancestry, etc.
  • We are to live life and have it more abundantly. This is not talking about greed, this is talking about being able to enjoy all of Earth’s abundance. We do not rob, we do not destroy so that the Earth does not provide to the next generations. We seed. We plow. We reap what we sow. We enjoy. We do not need to deprive ourselves. We should learn about other cultures and enjoy the art, music, culture, and all they have to share with us. There is nothing to fear.
  • Before Jesus ascended to glory, He said we would go on to do even greater miracles than He performed. We need to understand and use the POWER we’ve been given. We need to learn who we are and use our power for good.
Above all, I believe in the Omniscience, Omnipresent, and Omnipotent God.

God’s name

We may call God, The Presence, Source, Light, Energy, or The Creator of the Universe.

It’s humans who always feel they must label and name everything. God simply IS.
There exists an Eternal Presence that pulses and resonates through all. And it is Energy. Limitless, Ever-Living, and Filling-All-Space (which is really explains how God IS truly Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent). The Presence also works for me as a name.
God lives in each of us already, most just deny it.
Jesus was a representation of God living in us or He was expressing God fully. Expressing the truth of God in us!
God can shape-shift, choosing to be Jesus, any avatar, or merely a point of light!

“There are many names for the source of knowledge—the Absolute, the Cosmic, God, the Divine Spirit, the Transcendent —yet the concept is one; it is the Universal Manifestation, the Spiritual Essence, that pervades all things. And, it is this entity, this Universal Oneness, that the mystic seeks to know.”

Labels

I do not associate or align with LABELS of any kind, including but not limited to:
  • Christian. For the aforementioned reasons.
  • Paganism. I do not associate with symbols.
  • Mormon. Because the original Latter Day Saints church never called themselves that, only the Salt Lake City LDS members were known as Mormons. I have read the Book of Mormon cover to cover and believe it to be the Holy scripture of Jesus Christ’s visit to America. Some call it the Native American Bible.
  • Vegan. Because I consume honey, some dairy, and fish (to align more with my native American ancestors and my blood type).

Sacred texts

I have read other Christian materials like the Dead Sea Scrolls, Nag Hamadi, and the Urantia book, so who was ever to say one book was divinely inspired while another not??? What egos!!

I’ve heard that modern society has lost touch with rituals, however, perhaps this is because the word “ritual” is built into “spiritual” and just by way of Be-ing, that is all the ritual we need? When a person is spiritual, they know spirit is always with them, in fact, that spirit is IN them! There is no need to DO anything in order to know spirit is IN you. So, we’ve let go of religious rituals because we don’t need them. Isn’t that a freeing thought?!?
I do study. As I have a thirst for knowledge. And as the Bible declares, we are to study to show thyself approved. I believe we are here to learn and accumulate knowledge and experience. As we transition, our soul takes this knowledge forward in some way.

Teachings

I do appreciate and enjoy what each of the various religions have taught me over the years:
The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now the Community of Christ (Mormon) church taught me:
  • God is living and ever present
  • Present day revelation
  • Healing via Laying on of hands
The Methodist church that my paternal grandfather and grandmother were members of, showed wonderful acceptance and honor of others beliefs. In particular, my grandfather read my mom’s Book of Mormon and had many deep discussions with her about it! He was very interested in it, saying it offered great wisdom and comfort! He never understood why others would put mom down for believing in it, much less persecute her for it! My aunt Gela also had conversations with my mom about it over the years and my aunt was a devout practicing Methodist!
So, I was taught tolerance of other religions from an early age, even though my church taught that it was “the one true church” and I found out by attending others that each thought they were the only true church.
Baptist churches taught me boldness and encouraged me to study my Bible to “show thyself approved.” They also taught me humility–by going to the alter on more than one occasion! As well, they caused me to question my faith because they said the Mormon faith followed a different Jesus! I remember how confusing that was as everything I had learned about Jesus in my church was the same as they were preaching!!
Pentacostal churches taught me music in church can be fun and fantastic and that dancing for the Lord is glorious and healthful! My daughter and I were even “praise dancers” for a year while attending one of these churches years ago. My second husband and I were baptized in the ocean by a Bible believing non-denominational pastor whom also counseled us before marrying us. Though our marriage ended I learned so many things from it that I cannot think of it as a complete failure.
Also, that specific pastor taught me:
1) he asked the congregation to raise their hands if we thought he should drive a Lexus
2) they put multiple christmas trees on the stage
3) he said if we truly “got” what he was preaching we wouldn’t need him anymore, because God could speak to us and we could choose to listen and follow God on our own!
As soon as I understood what that pastor was saying, I left the church! (My ex-husband quit after the Lexus question.)
One of my co-dancers told me to look at algebra like a puzzle (because I had asked for guidance about math classes in college that I was struggling with). This later all became very important to my career!
Jehovah’s Witnesses taught me how they control people (a friend of mine relayed his very personal story to me years ago) and how they taught that Christmas is a pagan holiday.

Truths

The Church of Christ says the Mormon church is a fraud, yet another friend I met years later (who was Church of Christ) said her particular church didn’t teach that. She invited me to attend her church–I always felt she had a hidden agenda to convert me!
So, no, I do not believe in ONE church, one religion, or one way. To me, those very beliefs are at the root of many of today’s societal problems.
I’ll take the “live and let live” approach over all of that divisiveness.
Remember who the father of confusion is. A house divided against itself cannot stand.
If I go to any place of worship, it will be where our Creator is celebrated as being ALIVE, and speaking TODAY, and where UNITY is being observed. But, I will not succumb to any one MAN’s teaching, as my ultimate teacher is our Limitless Creator Source God Divine Infinite Intelligence.
Any religion that uses the active vibration of human beings and teaches a practice of movement (dance, waving of the arms, etc.), and breath (such as the yoga breathing called Pranayama, or chanting and singing to open and move breath through the body) are wonderful ways to heal yourself and reach towards the Divine.
What’s wrong with “new age”, or “new thought” stuff really? What are we afraid of?
God is bigger than anything, certainly larger than anything we humans can devise! In actuality, I believe in a LIMITLESS, Source Energy Creator!
We humans are always seeking to think of God in our terms, that God has a gender or certain bodily appearance, and that God sees us the way we see ourselves. But the truth could be vastly different! How grouchy of us to imagine how God thinks! Or even that God thinks at all!
Perhaps God only KNOWS.
So, yes, I can enjoy, yes, “IN JOY” all the fruits of EVERY religion! Why? Because I believe God does!
All the people AFRAID of never pleasing God, they can let that GO.
The Limitless, Ever-Living, Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipresence that exists is not sitting on a golden throne somewhere waiting to smack you upside the head!

Fear

And as for FEAR, as Jaime Foxx once said in an interview, “There is nothing on the other side of fear.”
I love the word “representation” oh yes! I read the book years ago also, and loved it. I feel a lot of people who judge the Shack book and movie, do so because they can’t see an Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient Creator God as appearing to anyone as a woman. I guess they forgot about that burning bush Moses saw.
I’ve heard it said that the Catholics only resisted Hitler marginally.
What can today’s religious people do to help preserve the universal freedom of religion?
Are Christians able to live their values under stress / temptation? Perhaps this is now their time of trial?
Admittedly, I align / identify more with Christians than Muslims, but I love the Zoroastrian, Sikh, Hindu, and Buddhist religions / traditions and I do not count them out or less than because they believe some things differently than I–after all, I still contain my previous conditioning.

Where’s the love?

And what about all of the Peace and Love tribe? Where is all that peace and love when a president is elected of whom you do not approve?
How do you practice the first commandment? Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind, etc.

I embrace Buddhism because I do not believe in evil. I have a knowing that what Christians deem as evil, is when we, each one of us, get in the way and block the light of God which wants to shine through us! We cast a shadow much larger than ourselves when we can’t get out of the way! Jesus knew this and called evil the “darkness” that blocks out God’s harmonic life-giving light.

I embrace the teachings of personal responsibility in Zoroastrianism–as they say to, think good thoughts, speak good words, and do good actions. And perhaps Ahura Mazda is not Omnipotent, but how do we know?

Spirituality, I believe, helps us get out of the way, so that our LIMITLESS God can can light the darkness and allow Divine Love to fill every heart.

An enchanting soul retreat in Sedona Arizona: Journey Into Self

Soul retreat in Sedona, Arizona

At least once in your life, take a vacation to nourish and soothe your soul! That’s what I did, and what this blog post is about… that which I will forever call my “soul retreat.”

When I first got the email from Alania Starhawk that she and Patricia McGivern were planning a “Journey Into Self” retreat in Sedona Arizona, I didn’t know if I could get the time off work, find the extra money to pay for it, or even, what my husband would say (as I’ve never taken a vacation “just for me” before)… But above all else, I KNEW that my SOUL wanted to go!!!

How did I know?

History

I had been to Sedona only for a few hours, 26 years ago with a few girls from my Speech class in college. We had been in Prescott Arizona, not far from Sedona, to put on a play at another campus of my university.

sheila preparing for ERAU play 1990.jpgsheila and girls day out driving during 1990 AZ trip.jpg

Having had some free time one day all those years ago, a couple of us girls decided to drive our rental car from Prescott to Jerome and Sedona.

On that drive, we had stopped at a little old roadside bookstore where I met an precious elder Native American Indian man. I fell in love with the Indian history he began telling me about, and all the books in that store. But because I was with other girls, and we were short on time, I politely told him I’d have to go. However, then I said three little words that have haunted me for years. I told him, “I’ll be back.”

While I never forgot those words, considering them as important as a promise, life got in the way, family vacations, reunions, and work trips, so for many years Sedona had to stay on the back burner. Although, Sedona was always calling me.

Invitation

So, the particular morning I received Alania’s email invitation, I wanted to leap to my feet! My soul resonated with such vibrancy at the very thought that I could travel back to the enchanting land of Sedona… my intentions roared and I knew I had to go–no matter what!

Logistically, it would mean that I would have to get on a plane, perhaps two, because it’s quite a distance from where I live to get to Sedona and the airfare was not included in the retreat fee. And then, there would be all the explaining I would need to do, as no one in my family had ever even heard me talk about taking a vacation on my own. Plus, I’d have to take time off from work, and the date the trip began on was an important calendar date for my family also!

Normally on this particular date, I’d be in New Hampshire visiting my beautiful daughter and wonderful granddaughter for my granddaughter’s birthday. But in a flash I realized that blessedly this year my daughter’s father and his wife were going to visit our girls in New Hampshire. So, MY schedule was FREE! Wow!!! What perfect alignment! I began to become aware that destiny was calling…

And so it was. I kept my promise. I went back to Sedona. Boy, did I go back!!

The drive

miles-of-cactus

Even the drive from Phoenix to Sedona had it share of sights! I was curious about the cacti (plural for cactus) that we were seeing along the highway. I was told that many of these cacti were over one hundred years of age! Because it takes at least one hundred years for one to produce an “arm.” Though I was riding in a car with several other ladies, I managed to grab a few pictures of these intriguing plants.

I must say that I had the opportunity to buy a new camera before going on this trip, but I chose not to because I didn’t want “taking photos” to get in the way of my experiences in Sedona. Lesson learned! I took pictures anyway and they would have been so much better had I bought the iPhone 7 Plus that I’d wanted. Oh well! At least I wasn’t worried at all about dropping my old iPhone down a crevasse!

Hiking

For five days, I hiked, breathed in the amazing cool dry air of Sedona, touched many rocks along a variety of hiking paths, hung out with like-minded ladies for spectacular sunsets, dined in exceptional restaurants, and immersed my soul in a deep and expansive process! My heart seemed to grow larger and open more to the world with each passing day! My “sisters” for the retreat seemed to teach me something every day! While my feet were totally grounded, my head and heart would fly along with the puffiest of clouds in the sky… dancing in the heightened energies I was feeling and “knowing.”

Our journey took us to many of the major energy vortices ~ including Airport Mesa, Boynton Canyon, Buddha Beach, Cathedral Rock, and Dry Creek Canyon. Sedona impressed us all! I hiked up five mountains in five days and the energy was running high to be sure! I only left thinking of perhaps two things I had not done while in Sedona, but I had been part of so much, and had written much more in my journal, and talked with so many of the gals in our group–yes, even on deep subjects–that in no way was I feeling disappointed.

Airport Mesa

The dirt was so red here at Airport Mesa–it took my breath away! I couldn’t quit looking at it, even as I climbed. And this was my first climb, just hours after getting off the plane in Phoenix Arizona!

look-at-the-red-dirt

Our group spread out and some of us sang, played shakers, rattles, and drums. Many of us went our own way for awhile, then regathered up the mountain a little way, for Divine Blessing, and more singing, etc.

The view with the rain in the distance was exhilarating! Sedona even gifted us with our own Sacred Sedona Sisters rainbow!

our-rainbowim-hiking

airport-mesa

a-magical-energy-tree

Sunset seemed to be the very best time that we could have climbed and sat in the glory of Airport Mesa! I would come to learn that every time I took my eyes of the red rocks even for a moment, as the sun would deepen in the sky, the colors of the rocks would mystically change, blazing ever so many new hues and shades!

red-orbs-native-american-spirits-here

Note the red orbs in the picture of the sunset that I happened to grab. Ancestors, ancestors, we are calling! Come, come, come.

The artist in me was perplexed in trying to capture just a small portion of this bewitching magnificence with my mere old silly iPhone! Haha!

As is usual for me, my thoughts turn to our Divine Source… and I thought, this must be akin to what God thinks of us… we’re each so immense and powerful, yet we can only see such a fraction of our extraordinary essence! Ohh, we are but fractals of the light of the Divine–yes?

life-always-finds-a-way

During one of my moments of just “be-ing” I looked down and noticed this small plant growing inexplicably, on its own, in between rocks! I thought, “life always finds a way” and truly, life does! When at times we wonder where a plant like this little guy would get its nourishment from, ah, there it is anyway, just being it, doing it, amazing us. Isn’t it fascinating? How that happens I mean?

This little plant has no seemingly apparent means of life support, yet, here it is anyway! Brilliant! And we get to live on a planet like this! So nurturing, even in the subtle ways when we cannot or choose not to see all the invisible means of support that it gives to us all! Ahh!

Also, as a writer, I see that the word “plant” is contained within the word “planet”… hehe, my mind is dazzled by the way our English words are put together!

Boynton Canyon

climbing-boynton-b

This was the site where I climbed the highest. However, once I got almost to the top, I suddenly realized, whoa there Betsy! What the heck did I think I was doing?!? Uncannily (and Blessed Be) I made it to the top and was totally energized!!

I met several people on my hike also. One man in particular told me to repeat the words to myself, “feet like glue” and that actually did help me, especially on my way back down!

Another gentlemen told me exactly where to walk near the twisted Energy tree, and point my dowsing rods near it for a fascinating experience.

sheila-dowsing-by-energy-tree

I could see the energy whirl one of my dowsing rods a full 360 degrees spin! Over and over again! It was mesmerizing!!

The tree is turned and twisted, supposedly, due to the amount of energy it receives.

I was having so much fun up here! I was certainly “in the moment” experiencing Energy as never before! At one point I remember noticing that I hadn’t had any vertigo during this climb, and I must say that I was shocked to realize that! As I had climbed Airport Mesa the day before, I had gotten near the top and suddenly realized there would be nothing stopping me if I fell, so I sat down and just “enjoyed”–and that’s when I had taken a lot of pictures, sang, and shook the rattle.

It seems to me that when I am caught up in a moment of JOY that I do not even consider any of my so-called “limitations.” Is that true for everyone? If so, then, I say, let’s stay caught up in our joyful moments, yes?

Know this: Joy is our natural state of be-ing.

We’re so drawn to be in JOY!

Joy is why we love hanging out with our children! They show us that in nearly every moment–well, after their immediate needs are taken care of, like food, liquid, warmth, and so on.

the-energy-tree-and-the-hanging-rock-that-i-was-mesmerized-by

Here’s another picture (from my friend Carolyn) of what I guess is the “secret” rock atop Boynton Canyon. It so mesmerized me because of the way it just sort of hung there!

Speaking of being mesmerized, every where you look while hiking the Sedona red rock trails, you can find a way to be in awe of nature! From the way the light dances on the rocks, to where and how the plants grow, to the variety of foliage, and how the air is just filled with a certain sense of peace!

Even when it drizzled the rain there, I noticed the air still felt dry. An odd dichotomy!

Zen Den space

Our little group of fifteen soul sisters went to this place, sort of a little community meeting space primarily made up of one large room, where groups could rent it and meet for yoga, meditation, or the like. We had two sessions here during our five day retreat. Here is a link to Zen Den.

Here, we had time for meditation, conversation, and a guided regression session. While technically speaking, our guided “regression” session is called a past life regression, some may choose to see it as exactly that (if they believe in reincarnation), while others may choose to see it as a reconnection with one’s soul, DNA, ancestral visitation, or in many other ways.

Zen house.JPG

Since, as you know by now about me, if you’ve been reading my posts, I do not limit the Divine (God, Universal intelligence, life force, Energy, All that Is) at all, so I get into, or love to play with and in, anything that brings me into conscious unity with God. We are to live life fully and abundantly and this is just one of the myriad of ways of living that I find appealing and resonating with my spirit and soul.

We had two regressions with Patricia here, inside, and though I will write in another post about my experiences during the sessions, I will tell you, and show you, what I saw when I stepped outside of the Zen house… it knocked my socks off! Hello wizard Merlin!

wizard-in-the-rocks

Just in case you couldn’t see him, here’s a zoom of a close-up!

wizard-in-the-rocks-closeup

And the following is a drawing (by my husband) of a wizard that I thought was appropriate.

wizard drawing by Richard

At lunch, one of my Sedona siStars checked her phone and something quickly flashed (probably an ad), which showed an image of a man dressed as Merlin, or had the name Merlin on it, and before I could ask her to stop (because I hadn’t been snooping, but had only noticed the image for a moment), she had flipped to the next thing. I did ask, and explained how the image caught my eye, but when she tried to go back and see whatever I’d seen, it was gone. Poof!

After I had returned to the hotel that evening and for some days after leaving Sedona, I searched online until I found the man, and it was Terence McKenna:

This was the tranquil Zen garden labyrinth (I am in the middle) where some of us chose to get our walking meditation in… ahhh!

Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park

Look at the  top of the smaller of the two Stupas. Oh, it looked just like an angel on top of a Christmas tree!

stupa1

It was certainly true for me that once I stepped foot on the land at Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park, my mind quieted down quickly, and a holy reverence lit upon me, much as it had years ago when I would enter a church building. But out in nature, this was the very essence of “church” that I have always known exists, and I’ve hinted about in previous posts (that we do not need buildings in which to “hold church”, but that we have our own body temple for this purpose–no other “things” are required in order to pray, meditate, worship, etc.) and I had quite a knowing of this truth, being in this park.

my-deep-abiding-love-and-sadness-for-all-the-worlds-religionsThe deeply moving “religious” zone I was in, fell on me quite profoundly as I walked three times around each of the Stupas (as it is suggested you do when you visit–there are informative kiosks that explain it). I am also sure that I will continue to write about my thoughts on this in future blog articles. I was very, very moved–and quite unexpectedly too!

To put my experience at the Stupa in the deepest yet most brief way, I was saddened to my soul for anyone who could not find beauty here, could not find the sacred reverence, the divine knowing of this place and what it means to have it here, in America.

stupa-sizeI watched people of many different colors and nationalities come and walk around the Stupa in silent reverence, and I was oh so moved! You can see how large the main Stupa is in comparison to this gentlemen as he reverently walks around it.

One of my new sisters on the trip prostrated herself before the Buddha and I could feel the tears well up in my eyes as I witnessed her devotion. And though this is not my religious practice, I was moved to tears!

It seemed as though I was feeling the tears of many saints and guardians who yearn for us all to understand the transcendent importance of such a place as this!

I felt God’s Spirit move through my body! I felt an immense and abiding sense of wanting to protect this place… so much so that it startled me! I resonated with the reason all military have fought to defend our nation for–the right for our freedoms, especially for our freedom to practice different religions. (It’s probably also why free speech is so important to me too!) We just cannot take any of our freedoms for granted!

Between seeing a lady do Tai Chi upon our arrival here, being blessed and attuned in the water, as well as all wandering around all of the magical cairns people had placed here, Buddha Beach was quite the treasure!

buddha-beach

I wrote a bit in my journal here, sang to the trees, and shook a rattle.

We met a lot of people on our walk here… some of us even got our picture taken with a couple who were traveling the world carrying a penguin statue! (I’m not kidding!)

Dry Canyon

We had our last regression session in the middle of a mandala that we all built, which included our own artwork and words for peace, love, joy, bliss, etc. that we left here:

sheila-in-middle-at-mandala

And I was gifted a bindi for my third eye, which I embraced wearing. When the sun was overhead, I pulled my scarf over my head as a wrap, not even thinking about “why”– but oh, I was stunned when I saw the photos later! I love Indian food, music, and dance, and now I think  I know why!

Also, going back to my childhood for a moment, my mom would always take a picture of me standing on a big rock at Blackwater Falls WV, so I had to jump up for this fun tribute to her!

Sunset on the Cathedral Rock trail

i-can-see-for-miles-and-miles

You can get a little idea of how rocky of a path we had to climb on the Cathedral Rock trail.

Our group of Sacred Sedona Sisters had a time of song and blessing on this flat area of the trail. I still hear our voices singing the enchanting songs! It was one of the most special times of our journey for me.

my-view-now-feet-over-edgeAs I sat,  probably mid way up the Cathedral Rock trail, I hung my feet over, appreciating the hiking shoes my dad had given me (they still had a bit of West Virginia dirt on the soles too) but now, they had this noble red dirt embedded in them as well. Ohh!! I love these red rocks! If I could live the rest of my life here, I cannot imagine getting tired of this dirt, these rocks, and the majestic glorious vistas!

I am dreaming of a day when I can bring our whole family here, especially my amazing granddaughter, Jennifer. Oh, what bliss that would be!

But, I can hold them dear in my heart as I sit here and look at the world. Because it sure feels as though I am on top of the world!

Saying so long…

Not long after I woke up on the last day in Sedona, I put my moccasin booties and went for a hike up the mountain behind the resort one last time. I wanted to feel the rocks under my feet, pebbles and all, similar to how my grandparents, great grandparents, and other ancestors from my Native American Indian lineage would have walked. Living my grandmother’s quote, “before judging others, walk a mile in the other person’s moccasins.”

Even the view from our resort was breathtaking, all the way around! Had we done nothing else but stay at the resort, I would have had a magnetic time!

I learned several new natural healing modalities that I continue to practice daily. Plus I met my protector guide, Screamin’ Eagle (thanks to my wonderful roommate, Kim — who I will introduce you to in my next blog post).

Each of the attendees, or rather “Sacred Sedona Sisters”, received an “Attunement to Divine Frequency”, sacred blessings, and regression sessions (read more about that here: Releasing “past” hurts or traumas to heal current ills in the body). We enjoyed, relaxed, and had fun, but oh YES, we can allow our body to heal NOW by releasing stored cellular memories from the past!

I want to soulfully thank Alania Starhawk and Patricia McGivern for brainstorming, planning, and facilitating this aWEsOMe and transformative, yes, life-giving retreat!

We absolutely packed a lot into 5 days!

For me, I loved every moment, every trail, mountain, and vista! We hiked, climbed, shopped, ate, sang, took photos, had deep conversations, sat in a hot tub, and around a fire pit. I’ve never done so much on a vacation before!

Stay tuned. I am sure to be updating this page (especially with the other blog links when I get those written)!

Thank you Sedona!

OM Shanti OM – May the peace that passes all human understanding be yours.

Then POOF and it’s gone

Then POOF it’s gone

Sometimes I wake up at 3am and lay awake in bed for an hour or more, hoping to go back to sleep, but my mind starts to drift. Sometimes I get up and quietly write something on the computer (for my blog, or the book I’ve been writing over the last ten years). Sometimes I meditate, pray, cry, and then meditate some more. Other times I go on a crystal journey (meditating with one or more special crystals near or on my body), which nearly every time takes me on an inward path where I find the gentle solace of a holy place.

Take time

Spiral Energy by Sheila Murrey

My grandfather used to say, “Stop and smell the roses.” Somehow, I feel when I wake up in the middle of the night, it’s because I didn’t take time to smell the roses that day, or if I did, now I’m caught up in the mystery of it ALL. Had I been as fully aware as I could have been in that moment I was smelling the rose? To understand I was standing in the presence of something timeless? Grace washing over me? My thoughts become almost tangible and palpable. As I lay in bed, my heart becomes so open that I think it will leave my body! My huge open heart resonates with a feeling of connection with ALL.

Everything happens for a reason

I believe everything happens for a reason. I cry about things that cannot be changed, about which I feel guilty, or ashamed. Gradually, I let those thoughts go. I remember good times. I remember the friends and family who have transitioned. I miss them. I cry some more. Then, oddly, I begin very slowly, almost like a train steadily slowing as it arrives at a station, to breathe, and allow myself just to psychically embrace each of them. I remember each persons face, what it felt like to be near them, perhaps as we were going somewhere, dancing, talking, or such. I send them my love. I tell them, “Though I miss you fiercely, I know you are in perfect health, wonderful peace, and like the molecules of air around and IN me, you are still near me. And I love you. Thank you. Thank you ever so much dear heart for ALL you gave me. For helping me be who I am NOW.”

Sometimes after a stretch of time, I fall back to sleep. Other times, I write for hours before deciding it’s time to shower and get ready to prepare for my day.

There have been times that the connection I feel to my friends and loved ones, during these middle of the night mental sojourns are so strong, they seem vividly real. But, more often than not, the “visit” is faint, and dissipates into a near whisper. I am imagining, right? I mean, just because it feels real, it cannot be so. Or can it? As I do not limit God, perhaps there is a way to connect and spend time with my loved ones–and I am not only referring to those who have passed on, but even with those who are not living physically near me.

Empty space is not empty

I don’t pretend to know what fills empty space, though the new frontiers of science is finding that what they used to think was empty space, is actually “filled” with “something”–though they do not yet know what. Could that mean that my mystical musings in the middle of the night are when I mysteriously meander through a holy place? It certainly does feel like it’s a sanctuary for me.

Unaware

I’ve learned that when I move too quickly through a day, too caught in all of the “doing”, that I can easily walk by people, places, and things, unaware of the blessings or hidden messages that they might provide. Have I “walked by” people, places, or things, too preoccupied to notice the richness, the magnificence, or the subtle profound vibrations each offer me?

Realizing that I can always STOP, and consciously choose to pay attention to even the smallest of things, my heart dances with joy! I am open!

Heaven on Earth

I actively seek. And I know when we honestly seek, eventually, we will find. I do not need a crown of jewels when I get to Heaven (whatever do people expect to do with those anyway?) but instead, I’d rather trade anxieties for peaceful moments, sadness, feelings of loss, or thoughts of missing those I love most, into balanced emotions, joy, and dare I say, pure bliss NOW–while I’m alive! Isn’t that the true definition of having good mental health?

I go back again and again in my mind to my grandfather’s mantra. Regardless of the season, weather or time of day, I don’t want to miss the roses. When I leave this place, my spirit, mind, and body will have lived fully, changed much, and heartily, truthfully, given as deeply as I knew how–to those who received me.

I speak a mindful thought to someone. Then POOF! And it’s gone.

I can’t help you if you’re not  paying attention

Just like your radio or TV, God is broadcasting ALL the TIME! But, if you’re not paying attention, or to the degree you’re paying attention, you won’t get the same information, or downloads, that others get.

Radio Frequencies

I have a desire to help–anyone. But don’t bring me down. I choose not to allow people to pull me down to their level of lower vibration (thinking/acting), as I have learned that in order for me to feel good, I need to nurture my vibration.

I may “Like” your posts on Facebook, or other blogs, because I am grateful that you’re taking care of yourself, enjoying your life, or finding a way to make yourself happy. But, that does not mean I agree with you. It does not mean that we are the same.

I do celebrate our differences because everything, wanted or unwanted, allows me to know what I want to include in my life. And we are all unique.

I want to live joyously, ever reaching and expanding to a fuller knowing of God, Spirit, Vibration, Energy, Health, Wellness, and Vitality! I want to live a life of abundant freedom!

From what I’ve read, Jesus received the fullness of the gospel, or the full download of what’s important in order to live fully on planet earth, from His Source, Creator, God. The Divine is always broadcasting to us via the vibration to our beings. Each of us are “tuners”. Going back to the radio analogy, you’ve got to tune to the proper signal in order to receive Divine Inspiration.

You can listen to others and disagree with what they’re saying; it doesn’t make you right and them wrong. You’re just not in agreement with them at the time of that particular conversation. You may, in fact, experience something just a few minutes later that can change your mind completely about whatever was being discussed, or at least, cause you to ponder why you’d disagreed with them in the first place.

You can read the Bible, study it even, (or any other other wisdom books) and still not “get it” the truth of what was being presented, because you’re not in tune with that information. You aren’t dialed in at that particular time. But, just because you’re not getting it right then, after a little while of living life, or learning more, when you read it again, it might make sense.

Many of us agree that we may never understand the mind of God. Why? Because at the core of our being we know God is limitless. So vast, complex, and intricate, we just are not capable–at this time anyway. So, just because we are not receiving inspired information from God, doesn’t mean that others aren’t, or that others never have.

Discernment is your ability to tune to the vibration you have need of, at the time in your life when it will make the most sense to you.

But, be careful, because your discernment about something, even if it feels oh so right to you, does not mean that whatever it is will be “right”, or even appropriate for another.

If you see others living in prosperity, not just in monetary terms, but “living, moving, and having their being in God” and you judge them as being too “prosperous”, “fake”, “full of themselves”, “selfish”, or such–take a moment to pause and consider that Jesus said, I come to show you how to live life and have it more abundantly!

What then, is the problem?

When you are prosperous, generous in spirit, with a mindset of abundance, and living your life from a place of gratitude for all, you will be more compassionate, kind, and giving.

Perhaps you’ve known a selfish person, and seen the contrary–that they didn’t give unto others. If so, that was THEIR problem. You shouldn’t use that example as a reason to close off the ever flowing stream of abundance that God is broadcasting to you–and you will if you keep complaining about how wrong “other people” are.

In the short term, a temporary resistance can be good, for example, when you fast from solid food for a day–it will be more nourishing and taste better to you the next day. Just don’t cut yourself off forever. When a branch is cut from a tree, the branch withers and dies.

We do not all need to be on the same path. Just because someone believes a bit differently from you, it does not mean that they do not believe at all. It does not mean that they’re unkind or anything else.

Connect to all. Stay connected to God, to the Divine providence of life all around you. Rest in the knowing that all are God’s children, none more deserving than another. Rest your weary mind. It’s all good–really!

Acknowledging this kind, friendly, and ever-expanding Universe–

logo_cut_new-1Even folks who have lived a full life, people with a family, a job, education, or all the material things they could ever hope to want, at certain times in their life, question the point of it all.

If you’re sick, lacking motivation, or just feeling blah (like no one cares about you or what you’re doing), this author suggests that you check out some new information.

The Reality of Truth is currently available until August 1, 2016 to watch — FREE!

Many ways of living over the years have called out to us to seek a certain “path”, or “way of life” in order that we may have life here and now and live it more abundantly. And many people are just fine, content and happy with that one way. But, if you’re reading this, my bet is that you’re not satisfied for one or many reasons.

So, if like me, you find even one of the following people interesting, if just reading their name on the following list resonates with you for any reason, then you might very well enjoy, or even LOVE The Reality of Truth.

Now, I love Michelle Rodriguez from Avatar, Machete, and the Fast and Furious movies. And I remembered her from the TV  series, Lost. She’s always been a tough, super hero-like compelling actress. Yet, even if I didn’t get into The Reality of Truth for any other reason–and I love it for many reasons–I’d have enjoyed it just to see Michelle go on this adventure and get to know her in a more close-up, intimate, and genuine way. I feel I know her as a person now, not only as an actress. I cried when she cried. I laughed when she laughed. She talks candidly and openly about her experience–and it’s palpable.

Maybe you don’t know (or don’t like) one or more of the persons named on the preceding list, but you’re still invited to watch and open your heart and mind to receive. Could a good rest help to ease your troubled mind?

Rest to ease a troubled mind

I write a lot about spiritual things in this blog, but mostly because I understand the profound impact your spiritual understanding has on your mind and overall state of well-being.

Potential solutions

Would you like to stroll on the subjective side of this topic for a few minutes with me while I offer a potential solution to your mental unrest?

Journey into a realm where rest and ease can calm your troubled mind…

Breathe

Being healthy and well (or what most people call ‘wellness’) is not only how one feels physically in their body, but includes the state of one’s mind, or mental health. Mind-body, or holistic health includes things that help us relax (mind and body), release pent up tension, laugh, restore ease, increase our feeling of worthiness and belonging, improve our physical flexibility and stamina, and bring balance back to the body.

Your head is attached to your body, and IF your head is where your mind is (as most believe), your mental state can influence how our body feels. How can traditional western medicine (allopathic medicine) only treat your head, without understanding its relationship to the body? It seems to me, and to many others whom I converse with on the subject, that we need to take time for ourselves and learn ways to ease our mind, beyond the escape of merely sleeping away our concerns.

Conversely, perhaps mania and depression are triggered by inflammation in the body? Or by environmental factors? Side effects from other medicines, substance abuse, food, or alcohol?

Get unstuck

If you’re feeling the need to:

  • Get unstuck from the status quo
  • Learn tips that you can utilize in your day-to-day life to ease your mind
  • Rest and relax in a beautiful and tranquil environment
  • Eat delicious and nutritious organic food
  • Give yourself time and permission to reset your mental state
  • Go from feeling “blah” to brilliant

Limitless God

Limitless God

I have been invited to many churches. And I’ve attended many different churches. Yet, I do not consider myself “religious.” For the one God I believe in, is my Creator, Source Energy, and this omniscience cannot be boxed in one religion. Omnipresence is larger, more vast and unending than any religion can describe or fully appreciate!

Religions, or labels of any kind, slow us down. They’re limiting.

There is a verse in the book of John, chapter 10 that says, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” I dwell often on that verse.

I believe in Jesus Christ and His teachings. Often, I find that I experience Jesus and His message, more profoundly than most people who label themselves as “Christians.” This is because His teachings “grow” me daily. The words attributed to Jesus “expand” me. Raise my vibration. Heighten my sense of “BE-ing” alive. His teachings reveal a loving God. Thus, I’ve been able to shed the skin of religion.

We are all children of God–not the old man with the long white beard God– but rather an Ever-living, Limitless, Divine Intelligence, pulsating ENERGY that breathes and creates all life. And as God’s children, I believe we are all worthy. We all have merit.

Limitless God, Creator, Divine, Omni-everything is the only Source of our breath. Abundance is ours.

Nature is structured

A leaf on a tree has the same nutrition flowing into it while it is growing on a tree, that the tree has. We are a but a branch of Source. Only when we attempt to cut ourselves off from Source do we wither.

The whole point of the Bible was to give us a way to live, a structure to follow, an essence of the Divine Holy Creator. Most of us need structure. Most of us are too scared to really live the fullness of the lives we came here to live. But too many people use the Bible (or they’re chosen Holy book) as a crutch, and never GROW up and through it. People want to judge others, but never cleanse themselves with the holy waters of the divine message.

Speaking of structure, in one of the oldest religions, we meet Ahura Mazda – Lord of Wisdom. The highest spirit name in Zoroastrianism. And in Zoroastrianism we find 101 names for God!

Isn’t it amazing how much we don’t know?

Holy words

People don’t want to read other Holy books or Sacred texts though. That would actually require their TIME.

Much less do people want to follow biblical dietary laws. The Bible has instructions about what foods would benefit our human bodies. In fact, Jesus encouraged us to die to the flesh daily, which I’ve always thought meant to put off my fleshly desires, in order to become more righteous, but now I see this as a test of will, to abstain from food or other things for a time, in order to reveal our true nature.

I know it feels like it can be difficult not to eat for a day. Yet, throughout history, many people have gone multiple days or weeks without food, and they lived through it. We’re just spoiled. We only live for comfort these days. We only want to satisfy our taste buds. If you can’t even skip a meal, skip your meat, or dairy, why would a LIMITLESS unbounded Omniscient God reveal ALL through you? Ye of little faith.

Meaty message

You’ve sat in churches and heard the milk of the message. Why? Because most preachers and pastors say that people just want the milk, and not the meat of it. Well, I don’t think many of us can even handle the milk! We’re biblically lactose intolerant!

So, yes, I’ve given up on organized religion. I’ve given up man-made sermons. Churches are run by limited people. And Creator Source (thank you infinitely!) has given me the key to knowing already–and it’s as close to me always as my breath.

Study to show thyself approved

Sure, I’ve studied the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Christ in You, and many other books about world religions and philosophies. Many profound. Many with aWEsOMe intelligence. But, I don’t think they are without error, since someone had to write each word. Inspired? Probably. And as a writer, I believe many of the things I’ve written were inspired too. Yet, I am not encouraging you to follow imperfect me.

I am encouraging you to study to show yourself approved and lean not to your own understanding. And open your mind a bit.

Take God out of the box

Breathe. Take a moment. Sit in quiet contemplation (meditation) without asking for ANYTHING. Detach from your surroundings. From your stuff. Both physically and emotionally. Just sit for awhile. Say “thank you.” Thank yourself. Thank Divine Presence. Be thankful you have a brain, a body, a working knowledge of the world. Be thankful for the cells of your body and that your Source Creator can and does fill all the space in and through each cell. God is there holding each cell in place, just as Omniscience holds all of the Universe in place. There is no place where God isn’t. There is NO such thing as empty space. You are never alone.

Often, when I come out of meditation, I am gifted with a phrase to think about. Sometimes, I tweet that phrase or message. Here are some:

  • Are you smarter than God? Do you presume to know which path is right to worship LIMITLESS Source Energy Creator?
  • What if God doesn’t need you? Would it upset your ego or your mind? Just let Omniscience BE.
  • Even the words that we use, are only symbols, often misconstrued. It’s nearly impossible to describe the vastness and ALIVENESS of God!
  • Deep, cavernous, and shallow in places – I live at the foot of God’s throne. Omni-everything. Filling-All-Space Creator.
  • Limitless Ever-Living Filling-All-Space Creator God / Divine Source set you FREE! Live from that FREEDOM now!
  • Why is too big of a question to ask. We could never contain the answer. Ask yes or no questions, or to be “shown” how.
  • Some people are just harder to love than others because of the filters, our own unique ways of perceiving them.
  • You want freedom, God gave Free Will. Can you be responsible enough not to inflict pain on others?
  • Meditate on this: God fills ALL Space. OM
  • Imagine how ginormous God is. How could God be constrained by a name, much less one ideology?
  • Once you give someone a gift, don’t even think about it again because if you do, if you judge what they did with it, then it wasn’t a gift.
  • Two reasons “church” isn’t needed: 1) We are to study to show ourselves approved before God, and 2) Our body is our temple.
  • I don’t go to church. Why? Simply, I haven’t yet found a faith, much less a church, that could contain our LIMITLESS Creator Source — God.
  • Thank you for every “bump” in the road.
  • If you really knew that Limitless Divine Source Energy God Omniscient lived inside of YOU, filling all space, you would never hate yourself. You would KNOW that you are never alone.
  • Don’t you find it humorous that as soon as you break free of one paradigm, you find yourself in another?
  • YOU have the POWER in every moment to change your Mind. Focus on this. Human beings created All-Ah!
  • Oh yeah, it’s okay. It really is. Because all that Free Will still fits inside a Limitless Divine order. Always. ALL-ways.
  • Let’s keep our religious discourse so simple that a small child can understand. Creator Source God lives.
  • God still creates. God still communicates. God still inspires. So, it stands to reason there will continue to be art created, words spoken, and books written, which are divinely inspired.
  • Very simply, why do we limit God?
  • Think about this: No hope is false. Hope is hope!
  • Only go to a church, society, or group meeting that FEEDS and nurtures YOU. If it makes you feel bad because of gossip or hypocrisy–leave. Immediately!
  • The way in which you vibrate, whether you’re feeling good or bad, has an immediate impact on every cell of your body. Your being is always vibrating, resonating to the environment / conditions that surround you. You have the choice to put yourself in the best conditions for yourself now.
  • You and I are one imperfect being, who God Loves unconditionally! Conditions separate. Rules separate. Perfect love embraces, cherishes! Love unifies.
  • At some point outside today, FEEL and acknowledge Omnipresence when the breeze blows over you. That’s a warm hug from our Creator.
  • Deep, cavernous, and shallow in places – I live at the foot of God’s throne. Yes, even rocks, yeah, the very mountains… are ALIVE!
  • Do you know why I say our Creator “Fills-All-Space”? Because God is Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient!
  • Why were we made in God’s image? To reflect God in all we be, do, and have!
  • Anytime I think, “me” I am in Ego. Anytime I allow God to flow through me, I am in Grace. Gratitude. Namaste.
  • WE are to reflect God upon each other, as water reflects the sky.
  • Unconditional love. Love without any conditions. We may not see ourselves or others the way God does, but we can try!
  • You ARE only seeing PART of the picture – ever. God.
  • Its simple really. Instead of “God made us in God’s image”, we see and make God to be like us, in our image. God is Energy, in All.
  • When what you believe in hurts other people rather than helps, it’s not about God, it’s about you.
  • Why were we made in God’s image? To reflect God in all we be, do, and have!
  • We are each a leaf on God’s tree (Gaia), each with our own unique perspective.
  • Most people have had God’s unconditional love, conditioned right out of them.
  • Whenever I FEEL bad, sad, mad, etc. it is always because my perspective differs from God’s POV which, is ALL WAYS unconditional.
  • Lonely, scared, or anxious? Be not afraid. You are never alone.
  • Uh, that thing called unconditional love you want to think you believe in, means loving through any & all conditions!
  • When you practice unconditional love, you’re not complaining. How peaceful would the world be if we all communicated when we’re happy?
  • Even children know this truth, play only with those you feel good around. Walk away from those who break your toys.
  • My gift to you, to all who are truth seekers. We Are All Connected.
  • There is only one absolute in the Universe: everything vibrates.
  • The paradox is: I change not, but I change everything. – God.

Have no Ego

As I have previously written, God created us to show himself without ego. This came up again for me yesterday, as a new friend told me that EGO means “Edging God Out.” I love that! I love learning more ways to let go and relax my ego, and walk in and with God’s presence daily.

Ultimately, because people always want to limit, judge, label, quantify, and put everything within a structure–this is the reason for all faiths, religion, and dogmas, to provide us the structure and permission to walk in and with Divinity at all times. However, as we all know too well, some people take this to the extreme of thinking they ARE God, and use that to “lord it over” people or whole other cultures. That’s fanaticism.

It never fails to amaze me how some people (like that one particular facebooker) think they have God all figured out, in a box, with such lofty knowing (Ego) to think they can judge / put ANY other human down that simply tries to share another aspect of our LIMITLESS Creator!! What audacity! Yet, even with that, yes, We Are All One, We Are All Connected, and I can send our “brother” love and a hope for his one day expansive opening of eyes and heart for his ultimate highest and best. Ahhh, blessed light! Glory to ever expanding knowledge and grace…

So, you are invited to take God out of the box.

We Are All Connected

We Are All One. In that, there is not one of us who is better than another.

We Are All Connected by the very breath and energy of our omnipotent Limitless God. And in this way, we make a beautiful energetic tapestry that God can see, feel, and know. Ahh, such sacred beauty. Such balance. Such peace. Such astounding and unfathomable LOVE.

Daily practice

For further practice (to study to show thyself approved to God):

  1. Meditate
  2. Breathe
  3. Walk in gratitude daily
  4. Really LOOK at nature, sit with a flower or leaf for a while
  5. Read good books that nurture your soul and spirit
  6. Listen with mindful awareness
  7. Let go of attachments, let go of anything that doesn’t serve you, including the past
  8. Activate your Faith! No worries–ever!
  9. Forgive, or better yet, don’t judge – Everything happens for a reason
  10. Watch for subtle clues and meaning–synchronicities
  11. There IS value in Everything (whether you can wrap your mind around that or not)

A limitless God, Creator, Source Energy can never be fully understood as that would be like trying to see every glint of sun on every wave in the ocean, and more—all at the same time.

I believe for every question there is an answer, but that those answers will not cover every question because there are limitless scenarios in which one could ask the same question, thus putting a different spin on the answer.

Be the person your Soul knows you are!

Take It Spiritually Upon Yourself

We Are All Connected

I research, experience, and share about many of the ways we’re Connected. And because we are All One, we can feel good, never lonely or in despair–as we are never alone.

We are never alone
We are never alone

Energy

Everything vibrates, and there is an underlying Energy behind, beside, above, and below all — in fact, holding everything together! Observe nature. There is an organization in the veins of a leaf, a snowflake, and the rhythm of the ocean waves. There exists an unseen Energy that is Limitless, Ever-Pulsating, Be-Ing, Filling-All-Space, and will never end.

Spirit

Most people refer to the beautiful and unending abundance of creation as God, Intelligent Design, Great Spirit, Divine, The All That Is, or Source. Indeed, the Bible refers to God as Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient. There are quite possibly more names than you can think of for our Omni-everything Creator! This begs the question, if we can’t even settle on one name for our Creator, how could one religion or spiritual practice be the only way to worship or reconnect with Omniscience?

I write in depth about Energy, Analysis, Focus, and Intention. My blogs, books, tweets, and more offer a living philosophy you can use–in any moment–to be happy always, no matter the circumstance.

Passionate about Natural & Holistic Health and Wellness, Self-Transformation, Self-Help, Empowerment, Self-Analysis, Feeling Good, Unconditional Love, and Personal Responsibility — I live my beliefs by incorporating all things natural, simple, and green, into my daily experience.

I live a naturally simple, healthy, and vibrant life by personally using a variety of natural health and wellness products, eating right for my body by blood type (and as many organic foods as possible), along with implementing alternative health modalities as needed for mind and body rejuvenation.

Happiness

Stuff doesn’t make people happy. What makes people happy is having more time to do the things they enjoy–with the people they love. And I agree.

If you find someone consistently lets you down, or disappoints you–maybe you’re asking them to be someone they’re not. Sit quietly and ask yourself, “Am I happy here?”

It’s better to feel good than be right. You could lower your expectations of others. Everyone is usually just doing the best they can. And you always have a choice of where to be. So, put yourself in a good “happy” place inside, okay? When you’re happy inside, you can be happy almost anywhere. 😉

Many blessings! Namaste

Results from participating in Reverend Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith’s 6-week Life Visioning program

Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith’s Life Visioning program

After completing, Dr. Alison J. Kay’s, “Your Sensitivity Is Your Power” tele-call series, I was presented with an opportunity to take part in Mind Valley’s first Live Coaching Program with Reverend Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, one of America’s most enlightened spiritual leaders.

Mind Valley claimed the program would “Forever Change Your Path” and it certainly lit a fire under me to make some changes and accomplish more.

Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith’s Life Visioning program

Changes made

So, what changes have I made?

  • I became clearer about how strong and deep my own personal power is
  • I volunteered to welcome vendors on Saturday March 5th at the 4th annual Awakening Into The Sun festival
  • I met Julie Moret and Keith Mitchell with so much energy and vitality that I almost scared myself! (Julie is a student of Dr. Michael Beckwith, author of What’s Your What and motivational speaker. She spoke with a beautiful genuine heart and led us in meditation. Keith is a former NFL linebacker turned yoga teacher)
  • At the Awakening Into The Sun event, I participated in one complete advanced yoga session (led by Keith Mitchell) in the morning and part of another session offered that evening too! The yoga sessions were so aWEsOMe and extraordinary that my body woke up at 3:33am Sunday morning feeling all of the life-enhancing and rejuvenating effects!

Accomplishments

What have I accomplished?

Lessons learned

Dr. Beckwith’s program provided me the time and focus to work on improving my health, wealth, and visioning, which has dramatically shown up in my life as:

  • Improved daily exercise routine with the addition of yoga and body rolling
  • Employing new visioning techniques daily to improve my work tasks, and bolster my singing voice
  • Giving me more courage to reach out and really “go for” what I want

I also learned never to compare myself with anyone. Period. I am a distinct individual. I am a unique expression of the whole. Just as every leaf, and snowflake is unique and different, so each of us are unique and different–thus we should never compare ourselves to any other person.

Now, I contribute more fully, and with more intention. I told many people during the Awakening Into The Sun event that I couldn’t be happier if I was levitating! Ha! And I meant it–feeling JOY in every fiber of my being!

About Reverend Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith

Dr. Beckwith is the founder of the Agape International Spiritual Center, a trans-denominational spiritual community with congregation of over 9,000 members at this time.

He has appeared on several television shows, Dr. Oz, The Oprah Show, Larry King Live and also in his own featured PBS Special, The Answer Is You, that allows his message to be seen and heard by millions of people.

Dr. Beckwith has participated alongside the Dalai Lama and other New Thought Ministers in The Synthesis Dialogues. He is the creator of the Visioning Process, which he teaches world-wide via books and seminars. The Visioning Process is a way to more fully open to and embrace our connection to the divine. We become vessels that the Universe can serve through.

In my last article, I explained that each morning I meditate to expand my energy and reach. I see myself as a voice and influence, connecting to my coworkers, friends, neighbors, local community, state, region, country, continent, and world. WE ARE ALL CONNECTED. And I always want to honor this knowing.

If we’re in better shape emotionally, mentally, and physically, we can change the world! And why is that important? Because We Are All Connected!

I continue to hope that as all of us continue on our journey, we can learn through every experience, and grow each day. Hope is hope. And FAITH is the SUBSTANCE of things not yet seen.

I invite you to continue opening your mind to learning about something new in 2016 and beyond. You are never to old to be open to receive new and helpful information.

Be ye blessed in ALL ways.

Be the person your Soul knows you are!

Amen. Namaste. OM

Walking more than a mile in another’s moccasins

In another’s moccasins

Making judgments

My grandmother (of Cherokee Native American Indian descent) often said,

Never judge someone until you’ve walked a mile in their moccasins.

And apparently, as a child, those words soaked into me and became my mantra. And I became an empath. Or perhaps, I was born an empath and her words resonated with me and validated my nature. Either way, in my experience, being empathic has been like living on both edges of a sword.

Never judge. Until you’ve walked a mile in their moccasins
Never judge. Until you’ve walked a mile in their moccasins

I’ve realized my life’s path has had me walk more than a mile in my mom’s moccasins–and also in my dad’s shoes. And I’m tired. Yet, profoundly grateful I’ve had such a multitude of experiences to learn so much.

No matter how many times I’ve pondered the heartache, the gut-wrenching, soul-shaking, events of my childhood–that I’ve recreated (knowingly or not) in my adult life, with some incredibly outlandish desire to FIX–I eventually cane to a knowing that I can’t fix anyone else. And I’m glad I figured that out before I met my third husband!

No one can fix anyone else.

Just like that old joke,

How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb? None. The light bulb has to want to be changed.

Repeating patterns

Unfortunately, even my children picked up the yoke of this dastardly twisted need to fix others, as they’ve fallen into some of the same relationship woes as I. And fortunately, all of us are in healthy relationships presently! Thank Limitless God we’ve all awakened from the lure of this whole “fixing” trap!

So, why am I writing this piercing note in the middle of the night?

Because I promised my daughter, if I accomplish one thing on this planet while I’m alive this time around, it is to break the “lather, rinse, and repeat” cycle of fixing–for my granddaughters. And all of my writing (both online and in books) is to ultimately leave earth-bound knowledge for my grandchildren. Of course, if any of these words help others, that’s icing on the proverbial cake!

You see, I never knew Divine LOVE, until I held my first granddaughter in my arms. She (Jennifer Ann), means more to me than I could describe.

What can I deduce from this new found comprehension of having walked all of these miles, in my mother’s, and yes, some in my father’s moccasins?

That life’s not been easy. But, it was never my job to work out their issues.

Tempted to complain

My “love of my life” husband and I picked up a saying this past year that goes,

Not my circus, not my monkeys.

And whenever I start to complain about something that doesn’t really belong to me–someone else’s drama–my hubby will pop that quote out to me. I love him so much for bringing things like that to my attention! He knows the empath in me often gets sucked into other’s drama, because I always feel that I can help ease their pain–somehow.

The Universe presented us with that very same phrase while we were enjoying our big outdoor annual Awakening Into The Sun festival! My friend Mary Ann, owner of Awakened Fibers had a handmade wall hanging with the words, “Not my circus, not my monkeys” embroidered on it! How fun!

Not my problem

And as if that wasn’t enough, a few minutes later while visiting with Dr. Alison J. Kay, her assistant, Brenda, told us a new phrase that fully resonated with me. It was,

You’ve heard it said to get your ducks in a row? But, they were never your ducks.

My goodness! What if the stuff I had taken on (for years), all of those “other people’s problems”, were never my ducks? I never needed to get any “ducks” in a row to straighten out my parents issues. Who did I think I was to feel burdened to do that? Ugh! And now you see why I am tired. Tired of carrying the emotional baggage of others–it was never my stuff to carry!

On the upside, I’ve had a successful (nearly thirty year) career (out of the need to walk in my dad’s technical “know-how” shoes). And after wanting a pair of real honest-to-God moccasins for years, I finally got some, and I’ve been wearing them everyday.

Wearing moccasins daily, I feel every pebble under my feet as I walk. And I love that! I’m constantly mindful that each challenge in life is as the grain of sand that produces a pearl in an oyster!

My daily walks provide me with the benefit of grounding daily, and the knowing that the wearing of these moccasins, physically brings my grandmother’s saying directly into my body—making her words experiential—instead of it just hanging around in my head like some mystical cloud.

So, yes, there are always positives. I know this. Why does it have to take some of us so long to figure things out?

Oh, because we’re programmed as children. Culturally, socially, and if you were raised in a religious faith, you (and I) were programmed. I’m glad I figured that out!

Cut the cords

Now, energetically at least, I’ve cut the cord of all of this for my granddaughters.

Here and now I state, my grandchildren will not have to take any historical family burdens upon themselves. They can be self-filled. Self-motivated. They can help others as they choose. Free spirits! They can care for themselves first, without guilt. They can choose to do what they love! They do not have to repeat the sins of their parents, or of mine. They do not need to try and figure anything out. The past is the past and it is abSOULutely done.

I have broken this chain of fools.

Be here now. ❤️🦋🌀🙏☀️🌱

Sometimes all you can do is “Believe”

What do we believe in?

Believe in the power of life.

Believe in the power of love.

Believe time can heal all wounds.

Believe in the power of life.
Believe in the power of life.

Believe that tomorrow will come and that it will be a new day, a day that will give you (and others) a chance to change.

Belief is what it’s all about, all day, everyday. Your beliefs rule on a subconscious level. And when you want to change something in your life, sometimes all you can do, is “Believe” in the new way, making a conscious choice to change.

BEing an empath

I am an empath, intuitive, and highly sensitive person (HSP). When I connect with others on a deep level, I am able to feel their pain. I experience bodily sensations–so much so that it wigs me out at times!

Over the years, I’ve learned how to navigate my feelings by connecting with others who have already walked the empath “path” and found their footing. And even though I know (and practice often) several different holistic healing modalities and philosophies: Laying on of Hands, Reiki, The Art of Allowing, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ), prayer, Energy Medicine, singing, chanting, and meditation, at times, I can still find myself in certain situations that test my resolve for freedom and relief. It is then, that I bring myself back to my beliefs.

Believe it

You’d better believe it!
Or else. Else what?
Why did my mom always use the phrase, “You’d better believe it” whenever she was scolding me or trying to correct me for something?

Beliefs can cause pain

I was “beside myself” when someone related a powerful and gut-wrenching story from their early childhood. I literally broke down in tears (in a small group of people I just met), which is quite unusual for me, and all I could say was, “PAIN (gasp), why do people cause others so much PAIN”?

Later on, when I got home that night, I became unconsolable.

I tried each of the various healing modalities I knew, yet I couldn’t rest, much less sleep. I prayed, meditated, held my hands together, and finally reached a “giving up” point. I let go.

I concluded that I would NEVER comprehend why people hurt others–especially children because my mind cannot comprehend whatever their “why” is. My mind doesn’t work the way their mind works. I was not hating the mean-spirited or ignorant person who caused this person pain, but I couldn’t shake the images my mind had created–from hearing the awful story.

As I laid awake in bed, I kept reeling about how damaging the event must have been for that dear one. Also, my mind was blown– I couldn’t conceive of any logical conclusion as to why anyone would willfully inflict such trauma on a child–or on anyone for that matter.

The various modalities I practice, typically allow me the freedom to hold a space for myself to relax, breathe, and “allow” myself to feel better, grounded, and emotionally stronger. But, not that night. That night, I felt as though I was “walking through the valley of death.” It was not pretty. It did not feel good.

Thankfully, the next morning’s meditation provided me with the gift of relief. Not a knowing of why, because we could never contain the “why”, but of a knowing that my friend survived her ordeal–somehow. Thank God!

Whenever I observe someone else’s sorrow, I feel negative emotion. I believe this occurs to pull me into action. To help in any way that I can.

Yes, thank our Limitless, Ever-Living, Filling-All-Space, Creator Source God for the paradigms of belief.

Beliefs may contribute to dis-ease

Holding shame, hurt, guilt, sadness, loss, grief, and other painful feelings (typically due to a certain belief) can cause unease in the body. And you can choose to change those beliefs. You can shift your thought patterns. You can find HOPE.

I want to enjoy a long and vibrant life–if nothing else, so I am active and healthy to do lots of fun things with my beautiful granddaughter when we get to spend time together. I bet you also want to feel freedom, joy, and vitality in your body, mind, and spirit. Please believe that you can!

I have shared with several people (via email, phone, online chats, and most recently at Awakening Wellness Center in St. Petersburg, Florida) who have really been at the “end of their rope.” In some cases, I’ve felt very strongly that they may not want to live another day. Through their angst, words, or tears, I felt their isolation and pain. I’ve felt their suffering. And I’ve yearned to help in some way, because We Are All Connected.

Introducing Lela

To this end, I would love to introduce my friend across the ocean, Lela Starseed.

You see, I know Lela’s story personally (as I edited her book of memoirs last year). And I watched several of Lela’s heartfelt videos, and connected with her via live online video conferencing. I could sense Lela’s complete and genuine love for people and desire to help others ease out of their painful experiences. She can help you put your “victimhood” behind you. She can assist you to find a better way to live! You can feel better! And you can thrive!

Lela Starseed has powerfully transformed her own life, from a painful past that caused her much suffering, to her current state of being a beautiful warm, intelligent light, with a sincere gift of healing to share with you! Lela is an empowered teacher for us all!

Lela is also offering my readers a very special offer, to work with her one-on-one via online video conferencing. Lela’s offer is amazing, as you’ll read next.

Blessings to you my friends, in ALL ways. – Sheila

From Lela:

I am delighted to offer a complimentary healing session to anyone who feels inspired to work with me.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Lela Starseed and I have had a very extraordinary and interesting life.

I spent many years experiencing a wide range of different illnesses and didn’t understand why I kept manifesting these illnesses and negative experiences.

After years of soul searching, healing and doing the inner work, I realized I could just eradicate my symptoms by my belief.

When we work together, we see what is needed to clear blocks that you may be experiencing in your life.  We may work with visualizations, meditation, and connect into your body and soul to see what is needed for healing.

Your soul is extremely wise! It is amazing how fast healing can take place! And your body always provides the answers.

It is a sacred time for just you and you alone. And you will be given the space to express whatever needs to be expressed.

Finally, it is always an absolute pleasure for me to witness the healing that can just happen. We have always had the power to heal ourselves, but sometimes we need to be guided back to our source of being.

UPDATE: June 18, 2016 Unfortunately, not long after I had published this post, a young coworker committed suicide. In an effort to offer some sense of understanding and compassion of her demise, I pray that anyone who is sad, lonely, depressed, in pain, or in any way feels they may be suicidal, please reach out for help. Tomorrow is always another day–and there is hope.

You can always call Silent Unity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for prayer: 800-669-7729

And the suicide hotline is: 800-273-8255

Many blessings to you all, in ALL ways.

Amen. Namaste. OM
