As I wrote previously, my friend, Linda Lewis from Arkansas, but now lives in Thailand has gotten me started drawing (or sketching). Linda’s much better version of this first sketch can be seen on her blog at: https://creativeartworksblog.com/2026/03/08/sunday-3-8-2026/

I colored this in a bit after I completed my second drawing, which is next. And I used my fountain pen to draw all of these next images and markers to add the color:

I don’t know how much more dancing I’ll be doing because now, I have an issue with two of my toes on my left foot. I don’t know if chiropractic will resolve it or not, but I am thinking it’s all due to the sciatica issue in my lower back. I checked on AI and have had several good comments about what it might be (from friends on Facebook), but I will go to see a podiatrist if the chiropractor can’t help it. It has me a bit concerned.

I must tell you that my dear husband has tried to take my mind off my foot by finding some intriguing movies for us to watch lately. Here are a couple of the best ones if you’re looking for something different:

The Life of Chuck:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12908150/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_7_nm_0_in_1_q_life%20of%20

Cult Killer:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21151212/?ref_=fn_t_1

I can’t say too much without giving away the plots. But The Life of Chuck still has me thinking about it, all the little pieces that fit together, days later. It’s a Stephen King story, so there’s that. It’s very well written though in the beginning I was scratching my head because it begins with Act III. But I was crying by the end. It’s going to go down as being one of my favorite movies, if for no other reason than the dancing. You’ll see.

And Cult Killer is very timely with what’s been going on related to the Epstein Files. It stars Antonio Banderas, and that’s reason enough to give it a watch. I think it could have had a better name, but if you watch it, let me know in the comments what other name they could have given it.

My book comes out in paperback form in 2 DAYS, and yes, I’m very excited about that! I hope it does well. I would really like to pay off my credit card. Here’s the link.

Integrating the Spirals – JIGGLE WIGGLE

I’ve rebranded JIGGLE BUTT to JIGGLE WIGGLE per one of my followers comment!

I’m now encouraging those “over 50” to open to lifelong learning (observe, gently question, and loosen up their pre-conceived beliefs, aka ‘Programming’), become more aware of their thoughts and emotions to encourage more ease, loosen up and move their bodies (too many are stuck in their heads and physically unhealthy), become strong, and resilient in spirit, soul, mind, body. And to question EVERYTHING!

  1. It is a real therapy to pick up a pen and draw. I like your new found interest because of the nature of finding pathways into eventual focus on a style you find fascinating. I laid out a bit of an investment in getting Blackwing pencils. Thinking of a marriage between pencil solidity of the imagery and then using watercolour paints or autumnal coloured inks for highlighting. Rather as you have done here Sheila.

The Life of Chuck is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I watched it a second time soon after, and with knowledge of the whole story, emotional reactions doubled up. You know the dynamics and especially the ending and then reflect upon the little interactions with insight and knowledge of outcomes.

    All the best Sheila.

    1. I hear you, Gray, about the art and about the movie. I believe you’re sooo right, spot on about all! My blogger pal, Linda, who got me started with the sketching draws all hers out first, then paints them! I might try that at some point, but for now, your fountain pen drawings inspire me (and have inspired me long before I bought this pen), and the pastels just stepped it up a bit with color. I will work on something today that will incorporate the fountain pen and the pastels just to see if I can get the pen working better.

Hubby just suggested I watch The Life of Chuck again and test your results. Thank you again! I had wondered about some of the little things, like the old rotary phone, etc. and how they showed up again and want to watch for all those things in the beginning. I love busker drumming (and imagine that got you too, what with Kev being a drummer) and then Chuck’s dancing took it over the top for me!

      1. I wish I could draw from imagery in my mind. But that will never happen. Because of this, my art is very poor and naive. Reliance on what is used to produce art is really important for my ongoing battle in trying to create. As you know, you yourself are using various mediums and the outcomes are determined on this factor. It’s good you are trying all these different ways to express your intrinsic creativity. I know you enjoyed the clay. Clay is far more interesting than a pencil for myself. It lets you present something unique in manipulation of the creases and crevices. You see into the light and dark of the imagery.

Yes, definitely watch LoC again. Very emotional a second time. I enjoyed the drum and dance part. Exhilarating to be honest. I was speaking with my sister about individuals who go into trance like states when they dance. It’s why I wrote the song Eddie Just Loves to Dance. Based on a Northern Soul dancer. I love watching those competition dances. But better still, watching an isolated dancer is pure heaven. And yes, Kev was definitely in my mind when I watched the film. Cheers Sheila.

      2. I have LoC on the list of things to watch in the next day or two. I am so glad to hear that Kev was in your mind while watching it, Gray. And yes, clay is more interesting of a medium for me to work in, even with my long fingernails. Ha! I do enjoy looking into the light and dark/thickness of it. Excellent point!
I enjoy watching all kinds of dancing. I don’t think I have ever seen a northern soul dancer though, so I will have to look that up! Cheers, Gray.

    1. Yes, my fountain pen is one of those that came in a kit with a big bottle of ink that if I live to be 100 I probably won’t use up. Ha! And the felt tip markers are the cheap ones, Crayola I think. But I have so much to learn about getting my dimensions correct. My dragon is supposed to be hugging the yin yang symbol and of course, I did NOT draw the yin yang circle first (as now, I know I should have). Thus, it’s not a perfect circle or even close! I will try again though, as I really love the design.
