Have you ever sat down to write your bio or resume and listed all the things you do? Was it a really long list?

And then whatever app you’re plopping these “titles” into, makes you shorten your list?

Isn’t that frustrating?

Do you then think thoughts like: “I do too much” – OR – “this stupid app”?

I have position titles listed for myself that relate to job titles, or side businesses, hobbies, or roles I do once a year or seasonally, but that I want to “grow into” or do more often.

I say, I AM this or that. Yes, I AM [whatever]. And my brain kicks in with such thoughts of “No, I’m not” or “Who do I think I am?”

Are we hard-wired to question ourselves? Hmm.

My bio list of position titles

  • Wife
  • Mother
  • Grandmother
  • Singer
  • Writer
  • Sr Applications Analyst
  • Business Analyst
  • Functional Analyst
  • Technical Writer
  • Author
  • Blogger
  • Website Administrator
  • WordPress developer
  • Connector
  • Digital Creator
  • Graphics Designer
  • Holistic Health and Wellness Researcher
  • Festival Emcee
  • Songwriter (married to a Guitarist Bassist Songwriter who’s written over 400 original songs)
  • Consciousness Raiser
  • Co-creator aligning with soul-connected and soul-aligned individuals to raise the vibration of the planet!

Whew! That’s a LOT, right? I kinda feel tired reading that whole list. But I don’t do all of those things everyday–except for the first one–Wife.

I look at the list and move the position titles around based on what I focus on and spend the most time on. And I acknowledge some of those roles are previous roles–not things I am currently DOING today.

How about you?

Are you excited?

  1. One person, so many roles. Truly inspiring. I hope you’re proud of each and every one of them. Our roles are our efforts that mold our personalities. They are born from us only to assist in discovering ourselves further. Thanks for sharing this!

    1. I tend not to use the word, “proud.” (Because I was raised with the Bible scripture that said, “…pride cometh before a fall…” – paraphrasing.)
But, thank you! I am gleefully happy to share from what I’ve learned and experienced—to lighten and uplift others. ❤️🦋🌀

  2. Shorten the list?! The nerve …!
I had just made up my new business cards – 1000 of them – that identified me as “Author/Speaker/Singer/Songwriter/Musician.”
The following Sunday the message was, “God is not impressed with titles.” …Oops. :/

  3. Your bio is awesome, Sheila. I use different sized bios for different situations. One thing I do know is I probably need to make it more engaging. Am I passionate about everything that would be on my bio? Not like I used to be. However, that could be a phase I ma going through too 😊
