It’s September 5th, 2024; We have an original pop rock song for you today—and it will transport you to the islands! The smooth rich vocals from Bubba Hudson are magnificent! We play this often to put us in an easy going mood. A gem of a production from Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
Here’s the two-hundred-forty-ninth new music post for 2024, as I consistently bring you pleasing new original songs to lighten your mood. I know there’s a lot going on, especially with school getting started, and the tragedy of the school shooting near Atlanta, Georgia.
We have to be able to bring ourselves back into balance, somehow. And this is what I am here to do. Using Holism, Daoism, Buddhism, and Christian Mysticism (which simply means to Connect to the Energy of Omniscience God the way Jesus did), we can imbue ourselves with healing Love to bring our mind and body back to homeostasis. Raise our spirits and grow our souls.
Now, before I show you this spark of hope message about the school shooting, I will say, we don’t watch CBN much at all (mostly because I let go of mainstream organized Christianity many years ago–and that’s due to the pablum they spew versus truly teaching the way Jesus taught–FULL of God’s Energy and Love). But I take what I can use and leave the rest, since going through Recovery over thirty years ago with an ex-husband.
What we now know that the mainstream media won’t show
I sang with a Live band (April 2016) and shared healing Energy with the audience
We did our interview on the Be Awesome Network
Richard and I had fun yesterday on the Facebook group, Be Awesome Network with Lori Phillips. We did a fifteen minute interview on a variety of topics. I was surprised how much we shared in such a short amount of time! Here’s how you can watch:

I love this meme, except that I focus on letting go of the word, ‘should’. Therefore, I would reword this to say that healing helps one let go of the fear of losing yourself as you try to please everyone.

Aww, thank you so much! I only sang with a live band one other time after that, but it wasn’t recorded. We were lucky this one was!

Great performance in 2016. Nice stage presence. And good vibes from the audience in reaction to linking in with your shared message and singing. That bass player was loving the whole experience. Also. You seem to have lots going on too. Both media and social inclusions. Good to know you have activities in your life. All the best Sheila.

Ah, thank you so much, Gray! Yes, that was a great band and backup singers. It was the finale concert to a Breakthrough transformation type mastermind group I took part in. Each person paid $1500 to participate in weekly sessions of about two hours, doing psychological training and singing, rehearsals of new songs —I had never heard this Carly Simon song before and only had a couple weeks to learn it), learning how to use a microphone, loosen up, accept applause, etc. The group voted on which songs we sang best, to sing at the concert. I will have to add the link to the old blog post about it. It was an aWEsOMe experience. The bass player and his wife traveled the country offering that program.

Music therapy is a powerful force isn’t it. Very impressed that you remembered the words under ‘the lights’ on a stage, sang in to a microphone and actually faced an audience too. All three are pretty difficult. Having got those T-shirts I know they are hard to achieve.
Remembering others’ lyrics is especially problematic when being watched by an audience. Stage fright is a great descriptor at times. How many musicians have an iPad on stage with the words and chords on the screen. Some? Even their own songs.
And a microphone is a strange sensation to use well and control vocal output when your voice comes back at you from a monitor or amplifier. And being in competition, sound wise level, with the volume of the instruments. A vocal performance can get lost with a quiet delivery. A microphone can’t save the day. You still have to deliver with energy. So brilliant result for you there too.
The audience? As previously said. That takes bravery to open up to others watching you in a different role. So that course does sound like a great confidence booster.
Cheers Sheila.

It really was an amazing experience, both the course sessions and the Live concert. We did a couple of group numbers too, and I actually hurt myself changing into one of the too tight costumes BEFORE my solo, if you can believe that! So, all I remember was how much pain I was in when I went out to do my Carly Simon song. And missing one of the high notes! I was thankful for those backup singers because they covered it well. I was aggravated with
myself because I had never missed a note during my rehearsals—and we even had a dress rehearsal before the audience came in and I had hit the high notes. Ugh!
But alas, I know we are our own worst critics, right?
I didn’t know all of that, Gray, about people having lyrics on stage with them, stage fright, and microphone details you mentioned. WOW! I guess I should be proud of myself for getting through it so well! Haha!
Of course, I have sang since Elementary school and many times out at karaoke as an adult. But yes the Live band thing was something I had never done because the band Richard played with (when I met him) never wanted to include me or any girl. Go figure.

Great that you found comfort in the whole experience….despite tight attire. I blame the dress for missing that high note! 😆 I honestly never heard it at all. Our single has me playing a note that isn’t right. In tune, but not intended. No one hears it….but I know it’s there. So, yes, we are our own worst critics. You can’t go back in time and grab those tiny little events and change them. Like all life’s little quirks, they are part of our story. It’s the strange ups/downs/win some/lose some collective that makes us unique and results in the fascinating individuals that we are. Who in essence we are.
Here in Wales we have the yearly Eisteddfod in which children and adults perform on stage. It gives the children confidence. My two children went to a Welsh school until 11 years old and were taught their subjects in the Welsh language. So to stand up in front of an audience and narrate poetry and sing songs in a different language from that young age had to show courage. We were very proud of their achievements at that age. Still are with what they still achieve now. Despite their own ups/downs/etc……
Cheers Sheila.

Oh, yes, Gray. That’s what I will do (blame my missing that high note on the twist in my back that I got while trying to wrestle myself into the tight garment for the group number prior to my solo)! Great thought! Ha!
I love hearing that your children got to perform in front of an audience (when they were young) and help build their confidence! And oh my, in another language too! Yes, that’s brave for sure. Cheers back!
