While reading a recent email from the Institute of Noetic Science (IONS), I was extremely interested in a new study they were seeking applicants for: A telephone telepathy research study. So, I signed up! Well, not so fast.
First, I had to find two other family members or friends to participate in the study with me!
I find this whole topic fascinating because I think many of us think of someone, and then they call us on the phone! And I used to watch Kreskin when I was a child, and I was always intrigued with how he did extraordinary things.
I posted a brief message on Facebook and within hours had two willing friends! Aha! Now, I could fill in the IONS application.
But wait.
I needed to know demographic information about each of them that I didn’t know.
Thankfully, both were eager enough to do the study that they answered all the questions for IONS. I filled in the application and we were off to the races, so to speak.
Each time the automated IONS call comes in, we are asked to:
- Sit back
- Close our eyes
- Breathe
- Relax
- Choose a corresponding number (and it changes each time) to the person we will be connected to on the call or no one
- If one of the other two participants are on the call, it connects us briefly or disconnects if one of the others do not answer
The point of this study is to quantify, scientifically, how many times we sense who is calling us.
