Performing on stage

Have you ever wanted to sing on stage? It’s possible! Very soon, I performed a song on stage with a LIVE BAND! It was sooo exciting!!

It’s been a fantastic journey of self-exploration and mental, spiritual, and vocal growth while participating in an 8-week singing transformation program with Breakthrough Performance Workshop! And this is something you could do too, because Breakthrough offers 8-week programs on an on-going basis!

As many of my family and friends know, I’ve been singing most of my life, both during my youth and years in church–and I really love karaoke! And in recent years I’ve sang alongside my songwriter, guitarist/bassist husband at restaurants and home parties. But, until this concert experience, I had never sang on stage with a live band and backup singers!

This transformational program is not just geared for people who have sang for years though, the classes are designed to open you up, and help you find your own authentic voice–even if you aren’t sure you can sing–Mick and Tess are there to coach you! You can do this!

This is abSOULutely a bucket list thing to do!

There are many reasons I never thought I’d sing with a band on stage:

  1. I didn’t think I wanted to be in the limelight (While it seems empowering, it’s quite a vulnerable position to be in)
  2. I had experienced some different forms of rejection in the past (for singing)
  3. By nature, I’m introverted – more of a writer than a performer (though I have worked to become much more extroverted during my career and adult life)
  4. I didn’t feel I was physically or vocally fit enough to perform for an entire evening, so why even bother rehearsing with a band for gigs when I didn’t think I could do it

When I signed up to take part in the Breakthrough Performance Workshop, I wasn’t sure I could sing on stage (without my husband), but I really wanted to challenge myself! And there were subconscious reasons to sign up that I didn’t even realize, until I began the 8-week program!

The Breakthrough Performance Workshop website states that the program is,

A ONCE IN A LIFETIME PEAK EXPERIENCE A FUN, EXCITING, EXTRAORDINARY WAY TO DO PERSONAL GROWTH RELEASE FEARS AND STEP INTO CONFIDENCE UNLEASH, RECHARGE AND EXPAND! A MUSICAL JOURNEY TO BREAKTHROUGH LIMITATIONS AND REALIZE YOUR POTENTIAL.

Mick and Tess Pulver

Certainly, the Breakthrough Performance Workshop was a huge amount of FUN, and profoundly empowering! I love Mick and Tess’s therapeutic style! I have found such gracious, loving, and supportive beings–and enjoying every moment! And we have such an amazing group of program participants this time; they’re all so open and willing to stretch, feel, change, and grow!

In January 2016, I made a commitment to myself to live this entire year for myself, in joy, and–in a variety of ways–fully express who I am, mind, body, and spirit. This is definitely a highlight! Myself, and the eight others who began this program have been, and are continuing to, breakthrough lifelong fears that limited us.

Myself along with others from our Breakthrough group, each performed to a FULL HOUSE on April 16th, 2016!! Our show kicked butt!! I loved performing my solo as well as singing and dancing with the group.

I have learned so much through the transformational Breakthrough program. The singing improved my attitude and health in countless ways–by opening to the energy that sustains all of life, and moving my breath and authentic voice through the body.

One night at group, a participant had a toothache, by the time she sang her song though, that tooth had quit hurting completely!

I will continue to sing boldly and powerfully every day for the rest of my life!

What is a lie?

Defining a lie

Depending upon the dictionary you use, when you look up the word “lie” and try to define it, you’ll find that it’s mostly referred to as some sort of deception, false impression, or intentionally untrue statement.

So, a lie then, is defined as the opposite of truth. Right? It’s something that’s untrue.
Or is it?

Opposition

Is the lie the opposing viewpoint?
Is it a lie because it goes against what you KNOW, or perceive to be true?
Many years ago, I used to say that my ex could lie to me and tell me the sky was black, though I knew it was blue. And that he was so good at it, so convincing, he’d make me look at the sky again to be sure.
I used to get so angry (mad) when he, or anyone would lie to me! Grrr… what planet were they from? Why would they lie? To get what they wanted?

But now I wonder. What if a lie is really just another way of looking at something?

Let’s imagine we’re standing at a tree. A tree that is full of leaves.
The side of the tree you’re looking at has green leaves, so you make an assumption that all of the leaves of the tree are green. But, what if someone else is standing on the other side of the tree, and there are a few yellow or reddish colored leaves on that side.
Even if we care about the person standing over there, we might get defensive when our friend states they love the yellow leaves they’re seeing. We may disagree or argue our point, even without walking around to the other side!
So, how can we know for sure what colors the leaves are on the other side of the tree?
Like the yellow leaves on the other side of that tree, opposite from where you are standing, a lie is something someone else thinks they know.
They’ll defend “their truth” about yellow leaves until the cows come home!
But, you can’t see the yellow leaves, so you think they’re wrong, nuts, or crazy.

Allow the other perspective

Instead, why not just allow the other person to have his or her understanding of it?
And what difference does any of it make anyway?
We don’t always have to be right after all? And if we do, then that’s our ego.
What if a lie is the other perspective that you are unable to understand?
Think about a conversation where someone says something that you believe is untrue. It makes you mad. You fight it. The anger about the lie becomes intense within you.
Where do you feel that anger?
How do you feel it?
Isn’t it bizarre that you can actually FEEL the weight, or density of the negative energy?

Ahh, there’s almost a substance to it.

Thus, emotion scribes energy to the cellophane (the invisible realm where energy is stored before/after it becomes matter).
What???

Imagine

Now, I realize your head may have just exploded, but try to follow this:
Imagine that there’s a sheet of cellophane between you and the person you are having a heated conversation with.
When you allow their perception (their version of the truth) to upset you, you speak some charged words.
The energy from your words sticks in the cellophane.
The next time someone walks through that cellophane, especially a sensitive person (sensitive to energies), they FEEL that dense energy–almost like a heaviness in the air!

For your consideration

So, the next time someone lies to you, consider first, that they are only sharing their perspective with you. You may not agree. You may not like it.
When someone lies to you, especially if it’s about a really important subject, tell yourself that they are in a different reality. And FEEL if this lightens the weight of the lie.
Just as I no longer believe that a lie is wrong or bad, I also no longer believe there’s such a thing as false hope. For any hope at all, whether it is based on fact or fiction, is still hope.
Let’s assign truth and hope the number 1 and a lie and false hope the number 0.
1+0 = 1
Thus, we see that the even when we try to add something false to something true, we still have something true. It’s only our perception that is limited.
Remember that HOPE is the substance of things not yet seen. Not yet seen! Not real yet. Not actual yet.
So, let’s say someone tells you a lie about a topic that you don’t care much about. You can shrug it off easily, right?

However, when someone tells you a lie about love, about someone you love, or that they don’t love you, that lie drains you of energy, right?

Ask yourself

Similar to a battery that only has enough power to keep it going, though not enough to start the engine, a lie about the existence of love pulls energy out of you.
Why?
Because WE are all LOVE in our core and anything that shuts down or restricts that love FEELS bad to us.
Perspectives. It’s all about perspectives and perception.

How do each of these two statements make you feel?
I love that you make me laugh!
Versus
I love to laugh at you!

The Kaleidoscope

Check out these two images from the same kaleidoscope, that was simply turned a bit:

Pick up a kaleidoscope and peer into it, notice the myriad perspectives available to you. The fractals involved in the patterns created. And when, because you will, you cannot help to do so, move it the slightest bit the light will hit the items within it, and you’ll see different colors and patterns. For this is the way of the kaleidoscope. This is also the way of the interconnectedness of the universe.
I hope this helps to lighten you today, and step a bit lighter on the earth.

Be the person your Soul knows you are!

I love you.
You are enough.
You are worthy of love.

There is a line in George Michael’s song, Freedom, that asks of us: “all we have to do now, is to take these lies and make them true somehow.” And the answer I received about its meaning was:

When you can (though you may never be adept enough in every circumstance) take a lie, or what you perceive as a lie, and can find a truth (as opposed to THE truth) in it, then that is real Freedom. Freedom in one’s mind.

Namaste. OM

Note: This post is NOT about condoning lies or compulsive liars (certainly no one needs to stay with people who habitually act like that), it’s about feeling better, coming to terms, or forgiving someone when it occurs. Learn and move on. It’s all YOUR choice.

Book Review: Soul Explorer

A review of the book: Soul Explorer

Preface: Since my mother transitioned to the Grand Beyond on June 8th, 2017, I’ve received many messages from her in the form of visiting animals, songs in my head, dreams, and visions when meditating or relaxing during restorative yoga sessions, or the receiving of acupuncture treatments.

Soul Explorer
Soul Explorer

Just breathe

As I would allow my mind to settle, with my eyes closed, while focused on my breathing, I would observe my thoughts until the space between them would grow. Then, gently, I would receive the color of indigo to cobalt blue, with the blue hue deepening (depending upon how much light was shining through the blue), all in my mind’s eye!

I now know that whenever I soul explore, my mama and her babies, are always guiding me! They show me that they are blissfully all together, in the Great Beyond!

Soul Exploring

As I’ve written previously, you know that I was destined to meet Patricia McGivern, author of both, Angel Babies and Soul Explorer.

Patricia’s brilliant and deep blue eyes had inexplicably showed me that we shared a connection right from our first meeting, though back then, I could not possibly fathom as to what extent. Even now, I feel I am still only knowing of the “tip of the iceberg” so to say, of our interconnectedness.

When my unborn sister, Christina, came through (during my first hypnosis session with Patricia), I glimpsed more than Christina’s beautiful spirit, pulsing right on time, and in perfect resonance–I caught a bit of her essence.

Myriad points of intersection

You can’t physically see how each of us are connected, or where all of the paths of our lives intersect, but they profoundly cross and mingle.

You don’t know when the intersections are going to occur, but they will!

Christina showed me several spiritual mysteries, and while I studied Patricia’s book, Soul Explorer, I was opened up to realizing more.

I’d gone north to visit my daughter, son-in-law, soul-connected (golden, crystal, or indigo child) granddaughter, Jennifer Ann, and twins, Jaclyn Moon, and Jewel Marie for the month of May. And during my late evening times alone is when I would study, Soul Explorer.

The book

If you have been intrigued about past lives, and wonder how it might work, or if it even could be possible, I highly recommend reading Soul Explorer.

There are so many detailed accounts of people’s past lifetimes, later validated through dedicated research and discovery, that it shines a bright light on an otherwise not often talked about subject.

Personally, I was drawn to the many accounts of physical healing that occurred after someone underwent a past life regression–profoundly amazing!!

Highlighted passages

I highlighted many passages and sentences in Soul Explorer, and thus, it would be exhaustive for me to share them all with you. Plus, I wouldn’t want to spoil the fun and intrigue for any of you before you read this richly developed book!

So, here are a few of the most meaningful parts, (that resonated with me on many levels–even including names, places, and page numbers), I discovered:

Page 45 (Bill’s story):

“I thought I could fix her.”

I experienced the same kind of on again/off again relationship with a man years ago, and this chapter validated many of the things I learned from that period of my life. This story also answered why I had felt like my choices were not my own (during that time), though I do believe I had a choice and eventually did act upon my right and power to choose to leave–once I gave myself the necessary permission.

Page 85 (Ginny’s story):

“I thought it would be easier to have a life where I wasn’t loved, and I didn’t love anyone including me…so that it wouldn’t hurt so much.”

This chapter’s story helped me to have some understanding of why some people are hateful, bitter, mean, and can’t or won’t express love.

Page 117 (Ginny’s story):

“I chose to stay behind.”

My sister, Christina, had told me (while I was in a state of hypnosis), that she chose to stay behind (not incarnate) out of fear.

Page 255 (Bobbie’s story): I wasn’t going to include this one, but I opened the book at 2:55pm today and saw this underlined and the page number circled!

“Just me… they stink!

And I had scrawled in the margin that this could be a judgment that could lead a person to not want to breathe!

Sure enough, on the next page I read that Bobbie had a high sense of judgment (so do I), and that she had felt like her lungs had been suffocated.

Note: I had asthma for 40+ years of my life! Could it have eased when I released the need to judge others?

Page 276:

“There is a part of you that remembers everything.”

This last page is astounding. I underlined almost the entire page! Mind-blowing.

You must read this book!

Meeting again

Even before I returned home, Patricia had seen a Facebook post of mine about our move (we moved April 1st to Patricia’s hometown)! And of course, us moving to the town we did was outside of our conscious awareness. Plus, it gave us a reason and easy way for us to connect!

Just days after my return home, Patricia and I met for lunch and talked for an hour, nearly non-stop! Every other moment I felt “GodBumps.” (Refer to my previous posts to learn more about the physical sensations I call, GodBumps.)

How grand and magnificent it is to think, my sister Christina, Patricia McGivern and her Angel Babies book, and a metaphysical shop in New Hampshire, all played starring roles in my daughter’s journey to birth identical twin daughters, and for me to be their grandmother!

How blessed we all are. And how intricately, and infinitely, We Are All Connected. (Even when we cannot see the lines.)

Be the person your Soul knows you are!

Blessings in ALL ways,

Namaste. OM
