July 2nd – Double wide paradise

It’s July 2nd, 2024; We have an original pop song for you, loaded with piano on the bridge. This song is all about enjoying and loving where you live. The radio-ready original pop song will remind you what living is for—a lovely clean mix by Steven Cooper in Nashville, TN.

We all want to love where we live

Here’s the one-hundred-eighty-fourth new music post for 2024, as I consistently give you new musical stylings to bathe in. We loved living in the country (and lived in an RV off grid for 17 months a few years ago–so we had our fill!), and now, we love living in a small town where we can walk to a lake, a coffee and breakfast sandwich shop, couple of 5-star restaurants, ice cream shop, and opera house! My parents lived in a double wide for the last few decades of their lives (so I never wanted one). But to each their own!

Yesterday, we enjoyed getting out to a nearby lake (not the one across the street from us) so the kiddos could try out the kayaks they got for Christmas this past winter. Yes, I got in my daughter’s kayak after they finished, and my son-in-law’s mother did. We both got into and out of the kayaks without issue (that had been half or more of my fear about trying it) and paddled around for a few minutes! I could feel the challenge in my core and upper arms, which I needed. I enjoyed it and am considering buying one for myself!

All enjoyed getting out on the lake. We enjoyed it immensely until the rain cut our day on the lake short. –Sheila Murrey

Water

The water relaxes me sooo much! I know our bodies are made up of approximately 70% water, so why does floating or swimming in the water, or riding on it in a boat, relax me so much? Years ago a coworker told me that going to the beach surrounded my body with negative ions, and that was the reason that environment relaxed my nervous system. Maybe so!

Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. I love the water. And I also love being like water. Flowing.

Enjoy (IN Joy) everything and love! Be Everything All the Time. May we all soar in ’24!

Yours in expanding, flowing-as-water, spiraling consciousness,

Sheila “Spiral Sister” Murrey

Book Review: Soul Explorer

A review of the book: Soul Explorer

Preface: Since my mother transitioned to the Grand Beyond on June 8th, 2017, I’ve received many messages from her in the form of visiting animals, songs in my head, dreams, and visions when meditating or relaxing during restorative yoga sessions, or the receiving of acupuncture treatments.

Soul Explorer
Soul Explorer

Just breathe

As I would allow my mind to settle, with my eyes closed, while focused on my breathing, I would observe my thoughts until the space between them would grow. Then, gently, I would receive the color of indigo to cobalt blue, with the blue hue deepening (depending upon how much light was shining through the blue), all in my mind’s eye!

I now know that whenever I soul explore, my mama and her babies, are always guiding me! They show me that they are blissfully all together, in the Great Beyond!

Soul Exploring

As I’ve written previously, you know that I was destined to meet Patricia McGivern, author of both, Angel Babies and Soul Explorer.

Patricia’s brilliant and deep blue eyes had inexplicably showed me that we shared a connection right from our first meeting, though back then, I could not possibly fathom as to what extent. Even now, I feel I am still only knowing of the “tip of the iceberg” so to say, of our interconnectedness.

When my unborn sister, Christina, came through (during my first hypnosis session with Patricia), I glimpsed more than Christina’s beautiful spirit, pulsing right on time, and in perfect resonance–I caught a bit of her essence.

Myriad points of intersection

You can’t physically see how each of us are connected, or where all of the paths of our lives intersect, but they profoundly cross and mingle.

You don’t know when the intersections are going to occur, but they will!

Christina showed me several spiritual mysteries, and while I studied Patricia’s book, Soul Explorer, I was opened up to realizing more.

I’d gone north to visit my daughter, son-in-law, soul-connected (golden, crystal, or indigo child) granddaughter, Jennifer Ann, and twins, Jaclyn Moon, and Jewel Marie for the month of May. And during my late evening times alone is when I would study, Soul Explorer.

The book

If you have been intrigued about past lives, and wonder how it might work, or if it even could be possible, I highly recommend reading Soul Explorer.

There are so many detailed accounts of people’s past lifetimes, later validated through dedicated research and discovery, that it shines a bright light on an otherwise not often talked about subject.

Personally, I was drawn to the many accounts of physical healing that occurred after someone underwent a past life regression–profoundly amazing!!

Highlighted passages

I highlighted many passages and sentences in Soul Explorer, and thus, it would be exhaustive for me to share them all with you. Plus, I wouldn’t want to spoil the fun and intrigue for any of you before you read this richly developed book!

So, here are a few of the most meaningful parts, (that resonated with me on many levels–even including names, places, and page numbers), I discovered:

Page 45 (Bill’s story):

“I thought I could fix her.”

I experienced the same kind of on again/off again relationship with a man years ago, and this chapter validated many of the things I learned from that period of my life. This story also answered why I had felt like my choices were not my own (during that time), though I do believe I had a choice and eventually did act upon my right and power to choose to leave–once I gave myself the necessary permission.

Page 85 (Ginny’s story):

“I thought it would be easier to have a life where I wasn’t loved, and I didn’t love anyone including me…so that it wouldn’t hurt so much.”

This chapter’s story helped me to have some understanding of why some people are hateful, bitter, mean, and can’t or won’t express love.

Page 117 (Ginny’s story):

“I chose to stay behind.”

My sister, Christina, had told me (while I was in a state of hypnosis), that she chose to stay behind (not incarnate) out of fear.

Page 255 (Bobbie’s story): I wasn’t going to include this one, but I opened the book at 2:55pm today and saw this underlined and the page number circled!

“Just me… they stink!

And I had scrawled in the margin that this could be a judgment that could lead a person to not want to breathe!

Sure enough, on the next page I read that Bobbie had a high sense of judgment (so do I), and that she had felt like her lungs had been suffocated.

Note: I had asthma for 40+ years of my life! Could it have eased when I released the need to judge others?

Page 276:

“There is a part of you that remembers everything.”

This last page is astounding. I underlined almost the entire page! Mind-blowing.

You must read this book!

Meeting again

Even before I returned home, Patricia had seen a Facebook post of mine about our move (we moved April 1st to Patricia’s hometown)! And of course, us moving to the town we did was outside of our conscious awareness. Plus, it gave us a reason and easy way for us to connect!

Just days after my return home, Patricia and I met for lunch and talked for an hour, nearly non-stop! Every other moment I felt “GodBumps.” (Refer to my previous posts to learn more about the physical sensations I call, GodBumps.)

How grand and magnificent it is to think, my sister Christina, Patricia McGivern and her Angel Babies book, and a metaphysical shop in New Hampshire, all played starring roles in my daughter’s journey to birth identical twin daughters, and for me to be their grandmother!

How blessed we all are. And how intricately, and infinitely, We Are All Connected. (Even when we cannot see the lines.)

Be the person your Soul knows you are!

Blessings in ALL ways,

Namaste. OM

Why I meditate daily

Time for meditation

The day after Beau (our beloved 14 year old male Shih-Tzu) crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I realized our morning walk (when I’d do my walking meditation) could become my regular sitting meditation practice time. I knew I could honor Beau (during my meditation time) by sitting with a blanket in the spot where he had made his transition to the “beyond”. Also, I could place the two small stuffed animals (my loving husband had given me years ago) near me, to sort of represent our kids with fur, Beau and Lou-Lou. Two little stuffed representatives to comfort me somehow.

Why meditate?

  • To center oneself emotionally, mentally, and spiritually within your being
  • To nurture self and enhance well-being
  • To take note of thoughts
  • To expand the space between thoughts – which sharpens one’s focus over time and makes the mind serviceable
  • To allow self to connect with God – our LIMITLESS Ever-Living Filling-All-Space Creator. (More about that connection here.)

My meditation time is priceless to me.

Meditation class

After taking structured meditation classes, I realize that I’ve always meditated, just not in any structured way. I have learned methods from Dr. Alison J. Kay and a MeetUp group, and I continue to learn. A couple of weeks into my new sitting meditation routine, I visited Alania Starhawk’s crystal shop and studio in Largo, FL (Alania also runs a MeetUp group) and I was drawn to two wonderful “sister” crystals, which I brought home and proceeded to incorporate into my meditation seating arrangement.

Beginning to meditate

When I begin my actual meditation, I set a timer next to me (UPDATE: I was right, after two months, I did not need the timer).

I settle and relax my body into a comfortable position with my legs crossed. I envision the light from the sister crystal next to my left foot, entering my body in a spiral fashion, clicking into place all of the gears or points of connection on each chakra wheel (beginning with the root/red chakra, sacral/orange, solar plexus/yellow (always visualizing a sun rise), up into the heart/green chakra (where everything grows from the sun and filters out as love to all in my community, city, county, state, country, continent, and world).

Continuing, the Energy blooms into the throat/blue chakra, and to the purple third-eye chakra, where levers and switches get flipped up or down, and re-calibrate as necessary whatever needs to be accurately tuned, through the very essence and into the center of my body, aligning my spine, reaching out through the light of the other sister crystal in my right hand, and finally, connecting with Limitless Creator Source Energy God via my crown chakra (top of my head).

I naturally come out of my meditation with a word, or phrase from the Divine.

Honored Connections

When Beau passed, I wanted a pillow with a picture of him on it, but it took me awhile to figure out the picture and how to obtain it.

One day, I looked at the beautiful Awakened Fibers wall hanging in our bedroom and realized who I’d ask. I reached out to Mary Ann Pickard, owner of Awakened Fibers — and she was more than happy to create my Beau pillow! I commissioned her to make one pillow for me and one for my granddaughter (who also loved Beau, often asking to see him when we’d Skype or Google Hangout).

Whem the pillows were finished, I met Mary Ann to pick them up. I was elated! She had lovingly designed and created such extraordinary pillows! So much detail, like the hidden zipper (so Jennie wouldn’t catch herself on it), along with super neat trim (blue cording on mine / frilly lace on Jennie’s) — really artistically crafted!

Meditate daily

Upon returning home, I immediately sensed that I would use my new “Beau pillow” during my meditation. My yellow shirt is from Rekha (of India Artisans, Sarasota FL which was next door to the Crystal Cave a beautiful crystal shop.

Other meditations

Moving meditation

I did stair climbing meditation five days a week for more than two years. I used that time to de-stress from my tasks, stretch, practice Jin Shin Jyutsu, pray, and even practice Pilates and other movements to build and tone my body. I gained much calm during that time.

Sitting meditation

My sitting meditation is something I really look forward to each morning though. It’s a quiet, tranquil time where I feel totally nurtured and supported by All There Is.

A time where the walls of “me” melt away and allow me to become ONE with All There Is, know and feel exceedingly that, We Are All Connected.

Focused meditation

You don’t need to have “things” around you when you meditate – but I have found that for now, these are pleasing to me and anchor me to my little piece of heaven on earth.

Quick recap

You can actually meditate with your eyes open! Just pick a point to focus on. Also, clearing your mind isn’t the goal. The goal (over time with consistent practice) is to make the mind serviceable.

You can use a phrase instead of a word. You can try walking meditation if sitting annoys you. The point is to observe and detach. Notice who (or what) is thinking the thoughts and let each gracefully float away. Oh, and no spirituality is required. OM ❤️🦋🌀 Namaste. OM

UPDATE April 2019: My morning routine has changed. Now, I mentally say, “Thank you.” Then before I get out of bed, I do this actual breathwork (yes, with this link): https://youtu.be/lcC_DUtNr1M Then, before brushing my teeth I look in the bathroom mirror, look into my eyes and say out loud, “Thank you mom and thank you dad for creating me”! (As both are in the Grand Beyond now). And then shower, dress, and do some yoga, Pilates, and/or Qigong. A little later in the morning, I do this exercise too: https://youtu.be/PwJCJToQmps

For beginners

Here are a few things I’ve found in common between all the various meditation teachers I have learned from:

  • Focus on your breath
  • Your mind will wander
  • As thoughts enter, allow them to float on by as if on a cloud
  • Stay unattached to external sounds or environmental conditions
  • Return to the breath
  • Start with one or two minutes
  • Sit comfortably in the same place each day
  • Try to meditate at the same time each day

After some practice, allowing the thoughts to float by and finding the space growing in between the thoughts is what is most important. Namaste. OM ❤️🦋🌀🙏
