I’m not sorry for your loss, I am sorry for your grief

So many times I see people comment on Facebook or other social media, “I’m sorry for your loss” after someone dies. That phrase has always rung hollow to me. I am sure many people just don’t know what to say, and want to express their condolences. But it’s not really true. It would be more true to say, I’m sorry for the grief you’re experiencing (or will experience). I’m sorry that you may experience loneliness, sadness, emptiness, or such. I’m sorry that we always experience the loss of the routine we had with the person (or the pet).

Think of it this way, when your dog dies, you’ll have those periods of time throughout your days when you used to play with them, walk them, feed them, etc. and after they are gone, you suddenly find yourself trying to fill that space of time! That’s what loss feels like. And sometimes we experience emotional turmoil too, like mad that the person left us, and then we feel guilty for feeling that way! There’s such a range of emotions that a person can feel after someone “crosses over” to the Other Side.

Thus, maybe it would be more honest for me to say, “I’m not as sorry for your loss as I am sorry for the many phases of grief you will experience. And I hope you will reach out to me, even if you just want someone to lend an ear and keep your thoughts confidential.”

A fellow blogger and journalist, John Neff, wrote an exquisite poem that I resonated deeply within me. Actually, John has written several poems I love. Here’s the link to the first I found beautiful: https://therealistjuggernaut.com/2024/07/01/the-hearts-lament/ And then the second: https://therealistjuggernaut.com/2024/07/18/poe-in-space-beyond-the-bounds-of-earthly-spires/

I told John I love these poems, and if I was remiss, he knows it now. Often beautiful poems help us say things we might otherwise struggle to find the words to express our feelings. My mission is to help people know they are never truly alone. And that mission is near and dear to my heart. Thinking of that, this poem hits me in the feels as well: https://therealistjuggernaut.com/2024/04/12/echoes-in-the-dark/

Why?

I lost an aunt and a husband of a dear family friend to suicide.

Then fast forward many years, I struggled with a dark night of the soul and the spirit of suicide tempted me to take my own life too! Prayer brought me out of it.

As most in my circle know, we lost David Wilcock to the Other Side several days ago, purportedly from taking his own life. While that seems unfathomable to many of us, only David knew what he was personally experiencing in his life. I share this link to honor the man, and soul he was while on this planet in this lifetime: https://www.youtube.com/live/VbXvRyKeWp8?si=dOnA8Zv_ijOGaHHb

I will also continue to ask for prayers and loving vibes to be sent along to our author friend and blogger pal, Michael in the UK (https://peacefulrampage.wordpress.com) for his family too.

I know how suddenly death can impact each of our lives. I also know there’s something vast on the Other Side. Not only because of the visitations I’ve had from my sister, Christina, and from my beautiful mother after she crossed over to the Grand Beyond. But also, because I was awakened in the middle of the night with a strong male voice telling me (twice!) the words, We Are All Connected. The subject of my 5th book.

In my YouTube channel, I encourage those “over 50” to:

  • Open to lifelong learning (observe, gently question, and loosen up pre-conceived beliefs, aka ‘Programming’)
  • Become more aware of our thoughts and emotions to encourage more ease
  • Loosen up and move our bodies (we’re stuck in our heads also due to our “Programming” and physically unhealthy)
  • And become strong and resilient in spirit, soul, mind, and body.
  • And to question EVERYTHING!

October 31st – You weren’t here

It’s October 31st, 2024; We’ve got a new original modern country song on this Halloween to honor our family and friends on the Other Side. And to ease the grief of those who have suffered loss. Our hearts go out to you. Pro Nasheville singer, Tim Buppert provided the heartfelt vocals on this melodic original song. A wonderful radio ready, full sound production from Beaird Music Group of Nashville, TN. https://www.beairdmusicgroup.com

This is the three-hundred-fifth new music post for 2024! Yes, one of the things I teach in my Integrating the Spirals, is how to honor our ancestors and relations who have Crossed Over to the Other Side of The Veil. So, this time of year is very special to me. And this song, is also revered in our house.

We’re thinking of doing a few new things next year to help you get to know us better. Would you like to hear audio from Richard? Perhaps the way I used to post audio from me? Or would you listen to a podcast with Richard and me? Let us know in the comments. I know everyone is busy and have short attention spans, so before we go putting out the effort or spending the money on a podcast, I want to know what our audience prefers.

Caregivers and taxes

When Richard suffered a stroke in October of 2022, I found myself having to continue working full-time (thankfully, I worked from home), but also I became my husband’s caregiver. No, he didn’t need help with restroom activities, but I did have to take over banking and bill paying, and do all the cooking (Richard had previously cooked some special dishes, which gave me a break, but I had to learn how to make those or we wouldn’t have them). After the stroke, Richard couldn’t wash any dishes, or even take out the trash. He couldn’t drive or even ride comfortably in the front passenger seat next to me (it made him dizzy). I had to do it ALL. And while he felt bad that I had more workload on me, I just simply had to do it to keep us living in the standard we had become accustomed to. I didn’t begrudge this. He wasn’t a burden. But a tax credit sure would have been nice. (I had somehow thought I could quit my job and receive some sort of caregiver financial assistance from Social Security, but no, it doesn’t work that way.)

Thankfully, my place of employment reduce their demands upon my time but continued allowing me to work, until I could retire. That was a huge blessing to us!

And also, thankfully, two years later, Richard can take out the trash and recycle items. And he can even ride in the front passenger seat when my daughter takes us out.

You see, I have always done our own taxes and every year, when I plug my numbers in first, the software shows we’d get a refund. When I plug in Richard’s social security and pension, we always owed. He never felt it was right that we’d have to pay taxes on what was owed to him, Now, this will be the first full year that I am retired. We’ll see what the software says when I only have social security and Richard’s pension to plug in. I believe President Trump when he says he’ll give us a tax credit. Not that I’ll need it so much now, since I am not working, but it would just be nice not to have to pay any taxes on what we’ve earned over the course of our working lives.

Everything happens for a reason

Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. Even if we have to disconnect from some people, for a time.

Enjoy (IN Joy) everything and love! Be Everything All the Time. Let’s soar in ’24! And let’s (are you ready for this?) THRIVE in ’25!

Yours in expanding, sharing, spiraling consciousness,

Sheila “Spiral Sister” Murrey
