My Conscious Calling

Soul Calling

I’ve shared this publicly before (on another website) back in 2008. But I found it again and thought I’d update it a bit to share here, on my personal site.

What is my Conscious Calling? Or, I could ask that another way. What is my Soul Calling?
What is my Soul Calling?
Soul Calling

To redefine and grow mySelf in all areas of my life, with grace and ease, while sharing my truth openly and freely with others. Hopefully, my words will assist others, and empower each to find, or redefine their own truth, open to new things, see the Universe as friendly, awaken to the unseen world around them, and love God and others, more deeply and profoundly.

What the Soul wants

We are all connected. And I honor this knowing by maintaining a Facebook group by that name, and a blog page about all the ways we are connected.

I continue to learn and share about the mind, spirit, soul, and body connections we share, especially as it comes to bringing clarity, focus, and vision into my life and those I directly connect with, living every moment acknowledging spirit, and eating more plant-based raw foods + superfoods to enable more vitality to the body I inhabit.

Right and left brain

I am a creative and technical computer systems professional, and I currently still enjoy the “play” of that. When I find it no longer amusing, it will leave my experience like a falling leaf from a tree.

BEing online

For many years, I’ve been a participant on many internet sites such as, LinkedIn, Plaxo, Twitter, MySpace, Pinterest, Instagram, Yelp, Amazon, Facebook (on and off), this particular blog site: TakeItUponYourself, Being Wholly Vibrant, and more! I previously wrote about natural and holistic information under the name of: Mind 2 Xdreamz, and I previously developed and maintained a marketing website called Design2Xdreamz because the unlimited potentiality of being online fascinated me!

Passion for health

My secret to healthy living?

  • Understanding that the body obeys mind and spirit,
  • Understanding that no one needs to suffer,
  • Acknowledging and accepting that everything happens for a reason,
  • Joyously allowing and relishing in even the smallest of synchronicities,
  • Eating a mostly raw food diet and getting enough sleep and exercise so that the body I inhabit (my temple) is healthy and able to do everything I have been purposed on this planet to do,
  • Just “Be”ing,
  • Praying for all those I meet whenever they come to mind, breathing in the breath of God while walking, breathing out the life breath to the plant world, Using Energy Medicine and essential oils daily,
  • Living in a state of gratitude and harmony BE-ing connected to all of you,
  • Loving my family: My aWEsOMe supportive husband (so glad he found me in 2001), two grown children (Marie and Matt), our super duper and sweetie pie granddaughters, as well as, all living beings–plants and animals–on this, and the other side of the veil,
  • Knowing and seeing with “real eyes” that I am more than what you or I see. I am not my name, face, or any physical attributes. Thank God!

Honoring our Connections

My two adult children, and now my three amazing granddaughters are definitely my heart, and thrill me to the core to know and be with them, as I know so much more now about how our ancestors continue to live on in the DNA and bloodline these babies carry on–every relative of theirs continues to live on, physically through these girls, and also to the children they may have in the future. It makes my heart so full to think about it!

Of course, one of the best decisions I ever made in my life was to say yes, when my wonderfully  gracious, intelligent, and loving husband, Richard, proposed to me. Back then I didn’t want to be in a relationship and didn’t even believe in marriage anymore, my how times have changed! Now, I officiate weddings (as a Florida Notary Public), and it’s one of the work/play things that makes my heart soar! I love the whole idea of marrying people, bringing love birds and like-minds together with our LIMITLESS, Ever-Living, Filling-All-Space, Creator Source God as witness. OM

We care for our family and my friends – we reach out but do not suffocate – we’re here when they need us.

On religious / spiritual matters

I believe the Holy Ghost/Spirit of God is available to all of us. I never understood how people could believe God spoke once but never spoke again.

I believe the Bible, as translated correctly, is the inspired Word of God. I’ve known people in my life who must believe God is dead though because they do not believe He ever inspired anyone to ever write any other books. The logic of which, always escaped me.

Omniscience

I believe God is LIVING OMNIPRESENCE.

I believe there are many books, songs, art works, and more that are inspired by God, but I also believe that even if we read, memorized, fully understood them all, we’d still only have a glimpse into the LIMITLESS reality of God.

Since age 8, I have been a member of the RLDS faith (later renamed Community of Christ), but though I am affiliated, I no longer attend any one particular church (organized religion) because when I am talking and sharing with others about God and matters of the Heart and Spirit, that’s where “church” is.

Matthew 18:20 says, “For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” That’s my church. That’s also when I feel what I call my, “God bumps”–yes, a very tangible tingling sensation in my body whenever I synch up with another on a deep or profound topic.

I believe we are each responsible for the care and feeding of our bodies in order to be in balance. We need to feed our mind and spirit, as well as our physical body. I have a lot of knowledge in the holistic and natural health area, but I’m always continuing to “do” what I know–integrating it all.

I believe our bodies can be healed by connecting with Spirit, acknowledging, and accepting the healing. If we fight, deny or resist, or in any way want to remain sick, we will. But to be ill in any way is not our purpose. We are called to be “whole”. Our purpose is to “be”. When I ask myself if these thoughts I have are true, yes, I believe they are absolutely true.

BEing Present

I challenge my thoughts everyday, so that I can weed out those thoughts that do not serve my (or others) best and highest purposes. I believe we all have the ability to “calm the waters” all around us, either by prayer, or action. We affect so much more than we know. And sometimes not throwing the pebble into the pond is the best action to take.

Be the person your Soul knows you are!

Namaste. OM

We Are All Connected

This is an analysis of CONNECTIONS…

Big connections.

Little connections.

REAL connections.

I’ve been saying YES to many things for many years which, has brought me to this place, to write about connections. The connections we all make everyday. When you step outside your door each day, a HUGE potential exists for you to connect with someone new that offers the possibility to alter the direction of your life!

Are you OPEN to the possibilities?

Are you open to making new connections?

The Merriam-Webster definition of connection is: “join two or more things“, “the state of being connected” and “a situation in which two or more things have the same cause, origins, goal, etc.” What does this remind you of? It reminds me of Jesus’ sayings:

“…if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.”

“…where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”

So, you need to be open, don’t you? You need to be willing to be one of the two parties involved in that connection.

When you step foot outside each day, first you connect with the ground (unless you live on a boat)! And in that case, as you step a toe in water, you cause a ripple, but I digress. Though,  I wonder what the fish and other water creatures perceive of your toe in the water? Anyway, when you put your foot on the floor upon awakening from sleep, say to yourself, Thank You. Try this for a week, or two.

What new awareness opens to you?

Once you’ve gone out of your home, chances are, you will connect with another person. Are you grumpy? Not feeling well? Anxious because you’re running late?

spiral-energy

Time is a man-made concept. Not everyone lives by the same rules about time either. So, take a breath. Smile at the person in front of you. Be grateful you have the opportunity for this interaction, even if it’s a short interaction.

Just be grateful.

Anything can happen to you today!

If there’s ever a time when you start to feel sorry for yourself, read the account of Job in the Bible.

You can live with less ego in your life when you understand that we’re all connected. Be in gratitude daily – whether something you label as GOOD or something you label as BAD happens to you. One will feel good, the other will teach you something – IF you’re open and willing to learn. See with new eyes and hear with new ears! Isn’t this an exciting time to be alive on planet Earth???

We are connected to the Earth, to the cosmos, to the air, water, plant life, and every living being and creature on the planet in one way or another. We can turn away, or we can embrace these connections. My belief is we can only become better people for embracing these connections.

American astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson has said, “We are all connected; To each other biologically. To the earth chemically. To the rest of the universe atomically.

The point is: you really can’t even walk outside without being faced with opportunities to connect with others. You can choose to make those connections good, or not so good. Your attitude and how you respond to others really does make a difference. Not just to them, but to YOU.

You can learn to become more in tune with the connections all around you.

One of my healers, Nora Ross gave me another tactic to promote peace. When someone approaches me I am to say to myself (using my inner dialog) “I love you” toward them.

What I have found is that when I can practice this the way I respond to people changes. If someone approaches me for assistance I say to them, “How may I bless you today?” or “How may I help (serve) you today?” instead of “Yes?” or “What?” then this becomes quite a profound experience and allows a magnificent exchange to occur.

For more, about how we’re all connected read the book Transform Your Life Book 2 – Inspirational Stories and Expert Insights that includes my chapter called, “We Are All Connected”. This was my first co-author book project and it’s filled with timeless insight from many gifted authors. You can actually read my chapter for free, by clicking on the title link here, courtesy of Transformation Magazine:

We Are All Connected.

For more about being open, find my second co-authored book called, The Energy of Receiving” by Happiness Publishing. The chapter I wrote is called, “Open to Receive.”

I’ve been living by, and thinking in agreement with these two mantras for many years: “We Are All Connected” and “God’s timing is always perfect.” However, this is a PROCESS, there is NO COMPLETION or finish line.

Philosophy would also aim for us to “know thyself.” Indeed one of the most profound connections we can uncover is how our inner being is connected to God.

Some of the major connections in my life have been / are:

  • Without my mom sharing a bite of her sandwich with my dad, I would not be here
  • Without my body having experienced asthma my mom may have not taken me to a chiropractor as a child whom first taught me about natural (even holistic) health care
  • Without my maternal grandparents going to the church they did, my mother following their lead, and raising me within a Living God believing Christian-faith, I would not have experienced the healing power of God via “laying on of hands” – the first and most powerful Source of Energy Medicine
  • Without my dad being in the Citizen Band (CB) business (isn’t that interesting and perfect for me? It was all about Frequency) I would not have met my first husband, father to both of my children

Are you getting a sense of the convergence that occurred already by this point in my life that’s brought me to the awareness you’re reading in my posts?

  • Without my friend Margie (also of the same Ever-Living “God still speaks today” kind of Christian faith) I would not have taken my first college class, which led to me working for a University for 10 years and obtaining my first degree in Aviation Business Administration (lots of emphasis on writing, both during my work there and their rigorous science degree program).
  • Without my first supervisor at that aforementioned university, Lois McDonough, sticking by her decision to hire me when certain forces were against that happening, I never would have worked there for ten years, earning an associates degree, and adequately providing for my two children and myself. I will always honor her backbone and tenacity!
  • Without one mentor friend, years later, whom I met at the university, Digi, I wouldn’t have moved out of the higher ed arena to the corporate world (1997).
  • Without my friends Nancy and Holly I would not have met my wonderful “love of my life” hubby Richard! (And thank you Suzi for marrying us!) And without my friend Pattie, I might not have met her sister Nancy!
  • Without continuing my education I wouldn’t have the current financially strong and relevant career I have today (as well as, meeting beautiful coworkers/mentors along the way – many played a pivotal role).
  • Without Richard introducing me to juicing, distilled water, and a healthier way to eat (no soda or fast food since 2003) I am quite sure I would not be as healthy as I am today, and later… all those baby steps enabled me to go raw vegan, do a 40 day juice fast, etc.
  • Without Richard’s auntie Millie, (her wisdom and encouragement was so enlightening to me) I would not have tried acupuncture
  • Without listening to my own inner guidance (gut feelings) when I didn’t feel the first acupuncture doctor was right, going back and seeing Joan Massey, Doctor of Oriental Medicine for several months and asking her questions, learning, and following her advice, I would still have asthma
  • Without beginning my quest for health at HealthQuest (when Dr. Joan was there) I wouldn’t have met DoryValentine my massage therapist and yoga teacher. I also began having colon hydrotherapy at HealthQuest (they may not offer these now) but I continued with this after moving to Orlando and found a great deal of healing from the practice.
  • Without Joan I wouldn’t have met NoraRoss (who treated me using multiple modalities including RaindropTherapy and therapeutic essential oils)
  • Without God leading me to put my hands together when I pray and my own inner being allowing the asthma in my body to reverse and heal I would not be writing and speaking about natural and holistic health, nor would I be as healthy as I am today – able to do so much! No diseases, no aches or pains, no surgeries (as in “replacements”), and NO medications!!!
  • Without my kids, who are now grown up, I would not have a granddaughter and via marriage, a great-granddaughter who teach me much about the simplicity of being excited and thrilled all over again with all the little things of life.

I honor all of the people who have blessed me in my journey. The connections I have experienced in my life, most all have enabled me to learn and grow in some aspect.

I continue honoring all of my connections today!

Thank you to my recruiter and friend, Doreen Austin, and a referral from a previous coworker that culminated in bringing me to work in St. Petersburg, Florida–moving from Orlando, July 2013. Oh, how delicious life has become!

I would not yet be a published author without the connections afforded me by holistic life coach Dr. Alison J. Kay, (who also has a practice that assists in the clearing of our subconscious blocks). I found Dr. Kay on LinkedIn and reached out to her several times, even before moving to sort of pre-pave the way for me to work (in some / any capacity) in the holistic health and wellness arena, and continue writing on a subject that thrills me immensely on a soul level.

In Dr. Kay’s book, “What If There’s Nothing Wrong” she discusses the scientific evidences along with ancient understandings of various aspects of connection – connection of the mind to the body, “an interconnection between all animate life”, and how science is proving these connections. Dr. Kay’s book connects with what I have been studying and writing about as she states, “the mind-body connection puts the power back in the hands of the individual…” and this is the basis of my upcoming third book, “Take It Upon Yourself”.

In this particular video, you’ll learn:

“…the genetic characteristics of our ancestors live in our blood today.” Dr D’Adamo in the Blood Type Diet book. And this points to the fact that a portion of our ancestors still–within us.

Dr. Oz says on Oprah’s website, “…the next big frontier in medicine is energy medicine“. I believe we are at an exquisite time in history when western medicine will open to the connections to the subtle energies that guide us, working in and through us all.

Dr. Alison introduced me to Joeel and Natalie Rivera of Transformation Magazine and Transformation Publishing while I was assisting her at the Atman Center during an event. That fortuitous meeting led to my participation in my first co-authored book. As well, while at the Atman Center, I met Mary Ann of Awakened Fibers. I think  of Mary Ann daily when I hug my Beau pillow (read about that here).

At this same Atman Center event, I was incredibly blessed to meet Alania Starhawk of We Believe In Light and Patricia McGivern, the magnificent author of the beautifully profound book, Angel Babies.

Assisting Dr. Kay at the second annual Awakening Into The Sun festival (initially at First Unity of St. Petersburg), which led me to participating at the 4th and 5th annual Awakening Into The Sun festival, and volunteering at the new Awakening Wellness center (a dream of mine). How does it get any better than this? Woo-hoo!

“Sure, most physicists will tell you it’s impossible to feel this entanglement, this “spooky” connection to another living being. But when you reflect on a past love or a mother’s inexplicable knowledge of their child in danger; then you really have to stop and look at the evidence. There is proof that we are all connected, and it has more to do with the creation of the universe than the simple fact that we are all humans.”
Read more about how we are all connected here.

In my experience, if your heart is pointed in the direction of LOVE you emanate a vibration, sending ripples of unconditionallove and compassion outward, which allow you to be a blessing to others. You will help yourself and lift others.

If you don’t know what to do next, follow what feels lighter (vs. heavier) and really feel for these guiding feelings IN your body before making a particular choice. Many call that listening to their “gut feeling”. I call these my “God bumps” and they are my validation that I’m heading the right way. My way, may not be your way. But, there are many paths that lead to the same destination.

Don’t ignore your inner guidance – it exists for a reason. You were fearfully and wonderfully made.

If you want to experience greater prosperity, health, and vitality, choose thoughts that move you in the direction that FEELS good to YOU.

If you would like to experience emotional freedom from anxiety, pain, or other negative emotion–reach out to me. I am here to help.

Please check out my books, other blog titles here and share with others.

Be a blessing. Much love to you in ALL ways.

Amen and Namaste.

Practicing Patience

I went for a massage last Saturday and it seems my Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) was having “one of those days“. Do you know what I mean? One of those days where lots of little things went wrong. I could relate because I’ve been having one of those days for a couple of weeks now. And when I have a lot of tension a massage is one of life’s luxuries that I feel is a necessity. Turns out there was a message in the massage.

My LMT started relating her experiences to me of earlier that morning – and since I felt I might be able to help her – and so she wouldn’t take it out too much in the process of performing massage on me – well, I decided to listen closely and then offer some cheerful comments to lift her mood. At least I thought I would. Turns out though, as she talked we both began to realize what the issue was, and we both needed to learn and remind ourselves to practice… patience. Ah, a lesson and a great massage too!

She and I, maybe many of us, need to practice patience. Everyday.

Perhaps we say we have patience. Maybe we have patience with ourselves, but get annoyed with others when they don’t move as fast as we want them to, do the job correctly the first time, or trust us to live up to our word. I’ve been told by people I’ve worked with over the years that I have “the patience of Job”. (Referencing the story of Job in the Bible). So, I’ll give you a Bible verse I like, Matthew 6:8 – here it is:

Don’t be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Now I know this verse has been and could continue to be interpreted and applied in many ways to our every day life. The way I like to think of it is, since God knows what we have need of before we ask then God doesn’t want us to worry. Worry makes us sick. Worry tires us. When we’re rushing around, we’re worried that we aren’t going to get something done, meet someone, or get some place, on time. We worry we’ll be late for a very important date. Why? Worry implies we care more about what someone else thinks of us, than we think of ourselves.

So, I’m practicing patience. To let go of the need to please others. Sure I like to arrive at work on time. And I like to show my boss that I go about urgent tasks, with a sense of urgency. However, all that stress, day after day, leads me to stress my body. It only hurts me in the long run. I don’t know about you but I can’t remember ever getting a raise, or promotion due to rushing around. Yes, consistent good performance, and meeting milestones at work – actually accomplishing things, that can bring rewards but I can always take time to breathe, to focus, to strive to understand, know the details – even if that takes me a few minutes longer. Taking my time means my work will be done correctly. Rushing may lead to errors. I’d rather have my work be clear, detailed, and accurate, than fast.

My LMT wished she hadn’t left her office keys at the post office when she went to check her mail. Her waiting client was patient with her though – maybe he’d once left his keys somewhere.

I bumped into a concrete post and put a small dent in the bumper of my husband’s truck – because I had to drop off my car key to a store that hadn’t correctly installed a part on my car the day before (meaning I shouldn’t have had to return there had they done their job properly the first time). I’m glad my husband doesn’t get upset over things like that. Whew! I had a friend damage one of my cars years ago and she didn’t feel a bit sorry – unfortunately I was irritated about it for a long time. I learned those feelings aren’t good for me to carry around.

A company I’m doing business with is threatening to sue me over a particular clause in a contract that I’d signed too quickly and apparently without fully considering the ramifications. They have no reason to sue me of course as I didn’t break our contract – but because I told them I was unhappy and didn’t want to do business together anymore they’re jumping to conclusions and threatening me. I guess it makes no difference that I’ve acted in good faith with full disclosure. It makes no difference that they’ll continue to make money by my association with them. It doesn’t matter either that they made mistakes – mistakes that have caused me to want to end our relationship. All of that leaves me feeling a bit disempowered, as well as aggravated, annoyed, grumpy, and angry. I’m honoring my feelings by venting and getting it out in the most healthy way I know, writing. I can’t put a positive spin on the experience yet, but because I have faith I believe I can let go of it – one day.

I believe, as Jesus Christ commanded, it’s important to love our neighbor as ourselves. So I must love myself. I love myself when I honor all of my feelings. I’m not loving myself too much if by rushing around and stressing my body I make myself sick. Or if I deny my anger.

This brings me to my other interpretation of that same Bible scripture I quoted above. Since God already knows what we have need of that must mean our prayers are only a form of obedience to God’s Word.

Isn’t it interesting that typical prayers keep us focused on the lack of whatever it is we’re praying for?

Example: when we pray for someone to be healed it’s because they or others have told us they are sick. When we pray for someone to have a safe journey we are thinking of the unsafe things which could occur on their trip. We ought to be praying with FAITH which means… Believing What We’re Asking Has Already Been Accomplished! Focus and feel we already possess whatever it is we are asking for as if we already have it.
Belief activates faith. Take it upon yourself to practice patience daily.
