A Sacred Celtic Journey (Part 2): England

Sacred Celtic Journey: England

Continuing on with the sharing of thoughts and pictures from our June/July 2019 vacation to Europe, this post covers our three days in England. During these three days we covered a lot of ground, literally and figuratively!

Refer to part 1 here: https://sheilamurrey.net/2019/08/03/a-sacred-celtic-journey-part-1-ireland/.

Our Sacred Celtic Journey was with author and speaker, Patricia McGivern (learn more about her at: https://www.patriciamcgivern.com).

The tour took us to Bath, Lacock, Avebury, West Kennet Long Barrow, and Stonehenge (which was abSOULutely phenomenal!) plus, we explored Glastonbury (the Abbey, Tor, and Chalice Well) and also got to have a quick stop in the tiny town of Wells, home to one of the grandest of cathedrals!

Thursday July 4

We arrived in Bristol, England and had a bus (for our group), take us on about an hour’s drive to Bath, England.

Bath

In Bath, we stayed at the Apex Bath hotel. We had a wonderful room and comfortable bed. We had walked so much in Ireland that we were really appreciative to have the rest of this day to “just BE.”

We walked through town and marveled at the architecture of the cathedral.

We dined at the famous Sally Lunn’s—home of Sally Lunn’s Buns. Our group believes Sally’s is haunted, as one of our gals experienced some odd happenings while she was in the restroom! She heard the door open, and water run in the sink, and door close, but no footsteps and no talking!

Our food was delicious and even months later, as I write this, I can still recall the feeling and experience of the place.

Friday July 5

On this morning, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and afterwards met author, Andrew Phillip Smith. He presented interesting information from his book, The Lost Teachings of the Cathars. I have not read his book, but he certainly seemed an expert on the topic.

In the Languedoc area of Southern France, the Cathars met in groups and did not build churches. They were peaceful, educated, believed in equality of men and women and the early pure teachings of Jesus before being massacred by the Catholic Church in the Albigensian crusade. As well, we learned that the Cathars were celibate (called, Perfects) and confessed to each other in front of believers. Once a Perfect met their Perfect other, they went to Kingdom of Heaven (didn’t need to reincarnate into another vessel or creature). In 1209 something important happened (Reference to my 1212 life that I found out about while in Sedona.)

Supposedly, Mary Magdalene was alone with Jesus at the temple, the well, and in the garden. May not have married him but may have been his Perfect. They wouldn’t have had physical sex though, as that was not the belief or way at the time. This would have put the Cathars at odds with the Catholics.

Cathars believed in Laying on of hands (Refer to the story of the horse-lost shoe between to stones/horshoe over the door); Reference the Nag Hammadi; During the Inquisition we learned about the Cathars (so something good came out of it, yes something good can even come out of the Inquisition!). He even said Adam and Eve were not able to move until the spirit went into them!

While somewhat fascinating, I couldn’t help pinch myself a few times though, as I looked out the windows of the hotel. I was simply in awe to be in England. ❤️

Lacock Village

We walked through town again to catch another tour bus to go to Lacock (where Harry Potter was filmed), Avebury, West Kennet Long Barrow, Woodhenge, and finally, to Stonehenge. Honestly, I could write one whole article on my experience at Stonehenge, it was that amazing and phenomenal.

At Lacock, Richard and I walked and talked with our driver who was a retired police officer. He told us some stories about how their criminal justice system operated and that people aren’t allowed to own guns there. We were very interested in the architecture and way of life of the villagers of Lacock. Even the barn was very well taken care of. Walking these aged streets were certainly a walk back in time.

Walking around Lacock

We ended our walk at the church and Patricia asked me to come and see an important memorial of a young mother and children.

West Kennet Long Barrow

A short drive later, we arrived at West Kennet Long Barrow (a neolithic tomb built around 3,650).

Trekking up the hill to West Kennet Long Barrow

We played with taking photos and theorizing about these stones. I happily spied on two birds atop one of the stones at the entrance to the chamber and remarked to Patricia, “One has a feather stuck on its beak”! It wasn’t a busy place that day, so it was relaxing. And we liked that we could touch everything, which heightened my curiosity and made it all the more informative.

We joked about desiring to see a crop circle here, and wildly enough, a couple of weeks after we left, we read about a crop circle appearing near this place! “Missed it by that much”!

Avebury

Next, we spent a few hours at Avebury, exploring the largest megalithic stone circle in the world! Again, we were intrigued by the “flesh” type of texture to these humongous stones. We marveled at the placement of the stones and the various “growths” on their surface.

We learned that Avebury is also a henge, as Stonehenge is and were further intrigued. Since our visit, we have become quite hooked on the topic!

After leaving Avebury, we stopped along the road for a fantastic lunch at a place called, The Waggon and Horses. Not only was the food savory and delicious, but the building charmed me with delight!

Woodhenge

Before arriving at Stonehenge, we made a quick stop at Woodhenge. We learned that the wood markers had been placed where stones had once been.

Stonehenge

Walking the path towards Stonehenge

I will summarize to state that I felt the energy affecting me before we even reached the stones, as we rode the park bus out to the stones, and more while walking to the stones.

I noticed our shadows and took this artsy “giants” shot:

As the sun was setting and I entered the stone circle, I felt a strong yet calm energy as I took each meaningful step. I felt an indescribable connection to this sacred site!

Walking inside this megalithic stone circle was deeply personal and most intriguing. Even now, looking at the photos as I write this, brings me back INTO engagement with those feelings.

After taking pictures and video of the sunset, I found a mostly buried blue healing stone (that Pharon had told me about earlier). I sat very near one of the blue stones and was blissfully surprised at how quickly I dropped into a meditative state.

My few minutes of meditation within the inner circle at Stonehenge was profound! I was quite surprised after leaving there to learn that my husband had taken a picture of myself and some of our others while we were meditating! Love!

Note: Even now, I continue to connect to that stone when meditating at home.

Saturday July 6

Today (on the date of my daughter’s birthday), I was a bit emotional because of not being with her, but also because I was out of the country and not able to talk with her. In English tradition though, I put my chin up and trekked on, as we had a lot to see!

Wells

We made a quick stop in Wells, England’s smallest city. And we were all astonished at the sight we saw there!

Glastonbury

Synchronistically, we were in Glastonbury while there was a Holistic Spiritual & Wellness Fayre going on!

We left the hotel at 8am for a full day in Glastonbury (where it is believed that Joseph of Arimathea and King Arthur may be buried); we had our second past life regression out back of the Abbey and before the group tour of the Abbey.

My husband, Richard, had been dealing with a hip that was hurting, so we didn’t go on the Abbey tour, but I felt that was all in divine time. As it happened, a friend had lost her green Prasiolite crystal after our regression session and I was available to walk with her, help look for it, and have some time to talk. Had Richard not have needed to rest, I would not have been available.

The grounds here were spectacular. I covered a lot of ground myself taking in the roses and other flowers growing on the walls and looking for meaningful items.

Before leaving we had a few minutes to shop and find some gifts for my granddaughters and myself. 😉

We walked into town for lunch and had a delicious meal at a cafe where we had quiche and English tea.

Chalice well

We left about 1pm for the Chalice Well, England’s most loved and well known holy well that is believed to possess healing qualities). On the way to our tour bus, I spied my synchronistic blue on one of the buildings! I tell you, I didn’t miss a beat of receiving all of the subtle winks from the Universe I was given on this trip!

Even the bus stops were quaint! See the spirals (top left)?
At Chalice well, stopped to have Richard take my picture for my granddaughter by yellow flowers. 😉

Our guide for this day took us up a side street to The White Spring where back in the day, commoners could gather water (the rest runs down under the grate beside the street.) He also took us in the building (that isn’t always open), where we could see The Red Spring—and as our luck would have it, we even saw a nude man after his dip in the spring! LOL Oh, my! (No photography was allowed in there and we know why!)

Glastonbury Tor

Richard and I took one look at the hill and decided to stay at the bus with our driver, Richard, and talk about the legends and more with him. To us, connecting with those who live in these places are more important than the buildings and such. We enjoyed talking about the sheep and such too, and he prepared a lovely cheese and cider snack for us all after the rest of our group returned. Totally unexpected and delightful!

Back in Bath

Wrapping it up, we spent several hours at the Roman Baths museum in Bath. We were amazed by how much was here and I could write another article on all we discovered here! It was one of the biggest surprises of our trip, as we didn’t know much about this at all and had no idea that we would be so mesmerized by it all, from the engineering and architecture, to the art! We knew Romans were intelligent, but obviously much more than we had thought!

Note: As destiny would have it, out of 30,861 applications I won the lottery entry into the Newgrange neolithic chamber for the 2019 winter solstice sunrise! We are sooo excited to return to Ireland!

Stay tuned for part 3: Scotland!

Never alone. ALLways Connected.

You are never alone. We are ALLways Connected.

Everyday life causes certain connections to occur.

Listen to this beautiful song by my friends Shelley Morningsong and Fabian Fontenelle.

We are always (ALLways) Connected. Yes, in ALL ways. Nothing is ever lost. Everything and everyone is interdependent and interrelated though we do not have keen enough senses to know it.

ALLways Connected

Touchpoints

The neighbor who may or may not smile at me and say “good morning” while I am walking my dog first thing, before I’ve gotten ready for work, or maybe before I’ve even had my shower (if it’s on the weekend).

The office clerk I may run into when I go to check our mail.

The woman in a mad rush in traffic that cut me off and nearly caused an accident.

The store cashier who takes, or accepts graciously, the money for purchases.

The bag boy or girl who usually offers to help me out to the car with my purchases.

The customer service agent who handled my issue perfectly or perhaps, being new on the job got her so stressed out that she couldn’t think clearly to remember how to resolve the issue, leaving me on hold for what seemed like an eternity.

The restaurant service worker who makes a living serving food to others.

The farmer who is under an immense responsibility to feed millions.

The entrepreneur who works tirelessly to bring about the next big thing into our lives.

The masterful health practitioner who cares more about helping, encouraging, and educating people on how to get and stay well, versus pushing pharmaceuticals.

The television or movie producer who spent countless sleepless nights worrying if anyone would watch their show, only for it to impact millions in an emotional and positive way.

The songwriter (like my husband) who longs for the world to hear the heart and care put into their words and music.

The soldier (police, firefighter, teacher, or other public servant) who does the right thing to keep us safe, even if it means questioning authority.

Step a foot outside and see.

We are all connected in so many direct and subtle ways. How can anyone deny it?

See my previous post.

About Omniscience

Limitless

Omniscience is Infinite Spirit, limitless, unbounded, and eternal.

The phenomena of ALL Nature, physical (seen and unseen), along with the spiritual, are the myriad expressions of Infinite Spirit.

Understanding of these expressions, and living in harmony therewith, bring about balance, joy, and vibrant living.

Omni-Everything

There is no particular “God” bigger or more true than another, as there is ONE SOURCE. All religions offer ways (practical and mystical) that are belief systems in an attempt to help humans rejoin Source, as streams and rivers rejoin the sea.

ALL existence (not merely the personal egoic identity) of the individual continue after the death transformation when the body releases the soul and resides again in fullness beyond the veil.

Each of us are fractals of Omniscience. There is no one more important or more powerful than another. Is one color of the colors in the rainbow more powerful or important than another? No. So, there is nothing wrong, only our limited perceptions delude us when we think that way.

Everything is Energy. Those who dismiss that are denying the omnipotent power of Omniscience.

Living it

Live a moral life to feel better and help others feel better also. There is no boogie man in the closet nor in the depths of your mind. You have Free Will to delude yourself, but ultimately nothing is wrong. Have no fear. Everything resolves in the end. And you will thank God for your life one sweet day. You will see then, how every thought was known and every action was seen.

The Golden Rule is a good standard to follow. It is found in the Bible and other sacred texts of various religions:

“Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you, do ye also unto them.”

This will serve you well, especially if you make your Free Will choices with that end in mind. Not out of fear, but from a calm and centered place of knowing.

I feel that I’m walking my talk and living in alignment with my purpose when I feel a physical sensation in my body that I call, God Bumps. But even with any perceived missteps I make, I know that Omniscience envelopes me and I check my Ego at its feet. Some may call this Grace or Mercy. Some call it “being Saved.” No harm can come to me. I Am. Eternal.

Ivan Panin a self proclaimed atheist spent 15 years pouring over the Bible’s sacred texts and proved numerically that the original words could not have been scribed without divine intervention. His research changed his mind and opened him to accept God’s eternal plan. Will you study to show thyself approved?

Omniscience shall not be mocked!

No fear shall prevail against the believer. We humbly bow to a Higher Authority. 🙏

Check out my comment below Doreen’s post:

Breathe

Natural laws exist as a container for the human experiment. Breathe.

And as you breathe, think of something to be grateful for. Yes, #GRATITUDE for ALL you have been, and have the opportunity to BE.

Experience

The putative (subtle) energy of Omniscience is known by different names within human traditions. In traditional Chinese medicine it is called Qi (pronounced CHEE), in the Judeo-Christian tradition it is called Spirit, and in Ayurveda it is called Prana and represented in the doshas.

We Are All Connected. We are ALL One.

How ONLY divides

How the use of the word “only” divides

Holy Bible

In many translations of the Holy Bible, you read in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

When one quotes this verse, it can trigger emotions in some, because we presume that if we don’t believe Jesus is the only son of God, we will perish (die). Therefore, this verse is perhaps the most divisive and intriguing verse in the New Testament. And it has perplexed me for many years since the Bible also offers many verses that teach we are ALL sons and daughters of God.

There’s a couple things here though.

John 3:16 doesn’t say anyone who doesn’t believe that Jesus is the son of God will perish, but that those who DO believe, will live forever. Everyone dies eventually in this current life, so we really need to understand what the word “perish” means.

Also, John 3:16 points to Jesus as God’s only begotten (of Him), so it speaks of Jesus as God’s singular son. The verses that tell us we are ALL sons and daughters of God, use the plural form of the words “son/daughter.” I know that’s nit picky, but if we want to understand, then it’s important to dissect this carefully and understand definitions and that translations differ.

Spiritually Yours

A yellow butterfly (years ago), was the real beginning of my Connected spiritual and energetic “journey”…

About 1990 I had been visiting the grave of my second husband’s mom (she had passed a year before I’d met him; he had taken me there several times to visit her grave as that was his belief), when a yellow butterfly lit upon my shoulder and wouldn’t leave. Though I flicked at it to go away, it stuck around what seemed like 5 minutes or more, until new clarity entered my thoughts.

And years earlier (Christmas time 1980) I glimpsed the power of Omniscience after a guy backed into my mom’s car in a parking lot while my infant daughter and I were sitting in it waiting! He had driven away (yes, it was a hit and run) and I commanded him invoking Jesus’ name to return. When he turned around and returned, mom asked him why, and he didn’t know, but I knew. He felt compelled!

❤️🌀🙏

Differing Beliefs

Thus, we can choose to believe Jesus is the only son of God, the risen living Christ, or not. For those who believe, there is glorious love and hope.

However, for those who do not believe Jesus is the son of God, they can find love and hope also.

No one needs to argue or fight over who’s right or wrong. There’s no “one true church.” No one needs to prove their God is bigger than another. I don’t need to limit my beliefs to “people please” anyone.

This may come as a shock to you, but the Bible was not written for ALL people. In the first book of the Old Testament Genesis 4:16 we read that, “And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.” Obviously, there were other people with other beliefs before Adam and Eve were created! And the powerful good news is that our Creator God is Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient Energy–which means God has already and is continuing to work everything out. Let go, and let God.

We only see through the glass darkly right now. And I think most of us are mature enough to realize that the “powers that be” love to keep the masses dumb, confused, arguing, and bickering in order to better control us. Remember a house divided cannot stand.

The earth is a garden with many different life forms. Can we pass the test to live harmoniously?

How can we consciously co-create and work to unify, when we are always arguing about our different core beliefs?

Knowing these things, I choose to thank Omniscience in and for ALL ways. This centers me and fills me with peace.

Love is ALL there is. #GRATITUDE

Living Wholly Vibrant and Cellular Rejuvenation

Living Wholly Vibrant and Cellular Rejuvenation: Soulful, Spiritual, Mental, Physical, Emotional

Often we carry around the weight of the world on our shoulders. We actually feel our thoughts have weight! Negative emotions seem to hinder us; anger, fear, grief, guilt, jealousy, resentment, shame, and more can distort the way we present ourselves to the world. Our real self, the glorious bright and shining version of our truest self, would never want to live in any of the various states of negative emotion for too long (that’s why BEing sick gives us a chance to rest and restore)!

The cellular communication of our cells equates to their quality. When we belittle, criticize, judge, or otherwise harm another, it distorts us. Oh, ye of little faith (and ignorance). Thoughts are things! What you do now, not only impacts your now, but your future (and perhaps on your past–another mystery of the interconnect life)! Let’s rejuvenate our mind-body so as to all our soul and spirit the opportunity to clear and balance our emotions, and ultimately train our minds (make our mind serviceable) so we can live our best lives, indeed to live a Wholly Vibrant Life!

Living Wholly Vibrant and Cellular Rejuvenation

Soulful:

When we are Connected fully, living our purpose and in soul-alignment, we feel it! We are as a drop of ocean water (self) is to the greater ocean (our unbounded soul). And in our drop of sea water, we contain all of the same stuff–we just don’t always know who we are or that one day we will make our way back into the surf of our soul, to bring back all of the experience and knowledge we’ve come here to embody. Be as water. Go with the F-L-O-W.

Spiritual:

We are spiritual BEings living an earthly experience. We live and breathe Spirit! When we stay Connected to Omniscience, to the ALL of who we are, we are grateful for each breath, thankful to our parents and ancestors who brought us into BEing. Thus, it is easy to live in and with an attitude of gratitude. Mindful practices keeps us ONE with the Omnipresence of Love and manifests as a beautiful life.

Mental:

Each of us have Energy (electrical fire) running through the neurons of our brains and cells. When the fire is not burning so bright, we diminish (depress). When the fire is burning brilliant, we are passion and “on fire” for our purpose, and what unites us with our soul! There are no obstacles. To forgive means to give in advance and give others a chance to catch up–we ALL learn at differing rates of speed! Connect with the greater consciousness. We learn through each experience and expand–not only our identifiable consciousness, but the Collective Consciousness as well. This explains how the “Take It Upon Yourself” individual matters to the “We Are All Connected” ONE. Grow. Understand that life is infinite–full of potential and unlimited possibility.

Physical:

Our bodies manifest from ALL we take in (ingest), surround ourselves with (environment), and experience (go through). On a cellular level (read Dr. Bruce Lipton’s ground-breaking book, The Biology of Belief to understand this), our bodies are created from and continue to recreate based on the genetic blueprint, but express (become / manifest) their particular aspects (to BE the way they are) per the environment they are in! This is cellular rejuvenation. This is the way to connect soul to body. Nurture yourself and others. Be energetic in your daily life, you came here to express ALL of who you are!

Emotional:

Coming round full circle here. Our emotions are as the surf is to the ocean. Our emotions are always moving (ALLways). When we allow ourselves the time and kindness, feel anger, feel love, feel joy, and all in between we learn to enjoy (IN Joy) life; allowing, nurturing, feeling free, and BEing ALL we came to be. We allow ourselves and others the freedom to create peace and harmony, and/or teach lessons. Daily integration of practices you’ve come to learn such as, open-attention, mindfulness, meditation, and prayer provides you with all you need to properly and compassionately communicate (full of grace and ease) with anyone.

Live and breathe Love & Gratitude

Thank Omniscience ALLways. OM

Working through A Course in Miracles

Reading and Working through A Course in Miracles are two completely different things.

Reading A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is quite different than working through the lessons in the course. And I believe the author’s intent was that we work through the course and apply it to our own unique life journey, i.e. the way (our perception) we each uniquely view life. Yes, the way we perceive life with all of its ups and downs.

Find a teacher

Thus, I’ve been following a teacher of A Course in Miracles (Chris Cade) for many years (via his emails and videos), but never really took the time to apply each teaching to my life as a daily practice, until now.

What I’ve come to notice

I won’t plagaerize Chris’ teaching, but I will share some of the lessons I’ve learned from it. Maybe reading this will encourage you to check it out. I’ve learned that each of the following thoughts, which I’ve had at different points of my life, disrupted my serenity and calm (and that they all kind of feel the same–each taking up about the same amount of space in my head:

I am not angry at my most loved family member for not agreeing with me about the pedophile priests for the reason I think. (Note the attachment involved here, “my” and “most loved” along with two “reasons” to be angry.)

I am not afraid of my ex for the reason I think.

I am not worried about any of my family members’ suffering or state of lack for the reason I think.

I am not worried about some creditor for the reason I think.

I am not depressed about some potential problem for the reason I think.

I am not agitated about some health issue for the reason I think.

I am not anxious during hurricane season because we live in Florida near the water or any other reason I think. (Note how the mind layers “reason” upon “reason” to convince itself of its’ rightness?)

These thoughts seem to take me off balance, thus, I really want the course to help me with that, and release the upset to return my most often state to calm and centered.

We have already discussed “upset” before and how to question our thoughts. Now, ACIM asks me to realize that Anything I am upset about—it happened in the past (even if it happened one second ago)!

  • All hurt (experience)
  • All education (training)
  • All learning (lessons)

ALL were in the PAST.

Why I continually seek

I am the person I am today because of Everything I have experienced up to this point in life. But, every moment I know I can make a different choice. I am open to that. I am open to unlimited and boundless potential! I am happy where I am NOW, and eager for more!

I know there was a reason for the puritanical ways (strict adherence to The Law to teach reverence and humility), but it makes me sad to think of those times. I much prefer Jesus’ words of Love. “And the greatest of these (commandments) is Love.” ❤️🦋🌀

What do you do after?

What do you do after?

After a loved one passes away, transitions to the Grand Beyond, and has their Continuation Day?

How long do we mourn? What else is there to do?

Well, I grieved, yes. But fairly soon after my daddy died, an awareness came upon me. And of course I had that vision, so that soothed my mind and calmed my emotions.

Grief dollars
Grief dollars

Good grief

How can grief be good? Who the hell came up with that old adage? Ugh!

I have cried and cried, but at some point I realized, I couldn’t change anything.

So, why all the tears? What good was that doing? Okay, I was processing my emotions and letting them out. That’s helpful perhaps. I was cleansing my body by the act of crying. But why was I crying?

Guilt

I can’t change anything in the past.

I can’t spend anymore time with my parents (in the physical), or talk with them anymore.

So, because of that, because there is no more time to sit with my mom or dad, I feel guilty for not visiting them more, for not listening to them more, and for not taking more of their wise advice. I feel guilty for a lot of things.

However, as I allow those feelings to flow over and through my mind and body, washing my heart center, I realize those are simply my thoughts (my perceptions) of situations that occurred in the past. Past hurts were previously discussed (in many cases, YEARS ago) and lovingly forgiven, so there’s no practical need for my mind to rethink on those times now. I have learned that regret is simply an action of the mind. I don’t know if anyone really understands why the mind does that, but I think most people’s minds go through those gyrations.

Eternal Gratitude

As I sit NOW in this time and space, I feel utter and thorough GRATITUDE for ALL. Ahh, the Eternal Gratitude!

My beautiful parents gave me sooo many priceless gifts! They created ME! They gave me life, breath, and were my most important teachers! And as much as I love, speak and write about them, no amount of words can begin to describe the immense gratitude I FEEL. Ahh!!

I am so glad that both of my parents knew I loved them. Oh, how glad I am that we always told each other, “I love you” and “hugs & kisses” each time we talked!

Learning

We learn through the mistakes, miscommunications, fault-finding, pain, and more. And we learn humility. We learn grace. We learn that we can’t take anything with us when we transition from this life. And how many of us think that day will never come. But, it will.

Time

We count it and think we can keep it. We say our watches are time keeping.

For some, our Continuation Day will come too soon. For nearly everyone, it will come unexpectedly.

Time keeping
Time keeping

Shine

In every moment, are we exposing our best selves to each other? Are we a shining light?

Stones to Diamonds

Stones to Diamonds

What’s the difference between the diamond and the rock?

Pressure. ❤️🦋🌀

And the cutting. Look how the skillfully cut diamond SHINES!!!

From stones to diamonds, pressure over time makes the difference. Do we buckle and cry under pressure, or grow stronger emotionally?

In loving memory

Let’s enjoy (IN joy) each other. Let’s enjoy each moment.

No moments are wasted. All bring value.

Let’s talk. Laugh. Video conference. Take the road trip. And fly to new lands!

It is easier, and feels better, to release the grief and celebrate in Gratitude. Eternally.

Hugs and kisses!!

❤️🦋🌀🙏💋

Lessons from mom

While my son and I helped dad pack things up, after my dad was mentally and emotionally able to sell the property and mobile home in south Florida where we’d first landed after relocating in 1985 from West Virginia, I found several things that answered some questions I’d had for many years.

Diary pages

Along with several diary pages that mom had written in the 1960s and 1970s, I found an unsigned letter to her that made me question which is more important taking advice from family or from friends.

The statement in the letter that got me was, “I’m disappointed in you that you feel that your friends understand you better than your family (and me).”

Old typed letter
Old typed letter

Who wrote it?

I have an idea of who the letter is from, but I am not sure. It was typed, single spaced on one sheet of paper.

As of this moment, it doesn’t matter to me who wrote the letter.

I will say that it ended on what I would consider to be a positive note, though still preachy.

“Don’t continually think about what is in your past. Let’s live for the future.”

Now, as for me, “I’ve had my share of sad kicks in my face, but I have come through” (to quote from one of my favorite Queen songs, We Are The Champions).

I haven’t cried much in the last year since mom passed, mostly because I still communicate with her in subtle ways, and I am keenly aware of her continuation in my life by occurring synchronicities.

Yet, today, I cried.

I had meditated and upon coming out of meditation, I was filled with emotion. I cried and spoke the following aloud:

Family reflect who we were; friends reflect who we are.

Family reflect who we once were, or who we were in the past. But, our friends reflect who we are now, who we’ve become, and how much we’ve grown (or not). That’s why we sometimes tend to love our friends more than our family. Yet, some of us (like me), who are very blessed, have family we are also friends with and who we want to spend eternity with. Time limits us, but thankfully (Thank you, God), that eternity is not limited.

Here’s something that’s true for most of us. We’re stuck in a box, or bottle. Even if its clear.

The box or bottle I’m referring to? The fences (rules) of religion—even when religion supposedly isn’t involved.

From a dream

Dream: Mom was reminding me about all the notations she had made in her Bible about “No gossip”, and “not to gossip.”

And that’s because all learning must be Experiential learning—coming from direct experience, which is also why Jesus said let thy speech be yay or nay. He knew that we can never really know the truth of another.

Someone may try to warn you of another. But we all experience each other differently because who we are in any given moment, elicits something different from the person. Many times we’ve experienced this. It’s the situation when one divorced person marries another and they get along gloriously. The “bad” partner may get along with another just fine.

Each of us experience life differently. We just can never fully know someone. People lie. People pretend.

I think most of us want to put our best self forward—but, for most this involves wearing a kind of mask. Call it the mask of pretense. It’s the face of kindness, compassion, peace, or love, while inside ourselves we feel anger, resentment, sadness, jealousy, or regret.

Thank you.

I miss you mama. Thank you. Thank you for teaching me everything I needed to know (when you could barely talk anymore), by looking in my eyes and placing your hand on the side of my face. And for always living in utter GRATITUDE the last years of your life (though your surroundings were not as you once would have wanted). You came to a place of not knowing or of acceptance, it doesn’t matter which, because you were grateful. You became Grace.

I only cry because I never got to tell you how much I got that lesson, how deeply I learned that last lesson from you. I continue forward, with understanding.

Nothing really matters, or everything matters. Each of us get to choose. Who do you love?

We Are All Connected. OM

Many blessings to you in ALL ways.

UPDATE: I found the rest of the letter, and it was NOT from whom I had thought! And the rest of it brought the earlier statements into balance with love and grace, so I have learned another lesson. I continue to feel Gratitude. Tears! 😭

UPDATE 7-Jun-2019: As I was washing the Lifetime brand (which really do last a lifetime) of pots and pans (that dad gave me years ago), it hit me why mom always LOVED to clean house–it put her in a meditative state! Ah! Yes, my aha moment today. And it brought tears to my eyes. OM

After that, I was looking through pictures of a book I’d bought my granddaughter last year (yes, I save things like that), and it highlighted my new found awareness:

Me too. Until now.

From Oprah’s historic speech

“I want all of the girls watching here now to know, that a new day is on the horizon. And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say, ‘me too’ again.” Energetically stated by, Oprah Winfrey, when she accepted the 2018 Cecil B. DeMille award during the Golden Globe Awards 2018. #GoldenGlobes

https://www.facebook.com/GoldenGlobes/videos/1884721461569863/

You know, every time I watch Oprah’s Golden Globe 2018 Cecil B. DeMille’s lifetime achievement award acceptance speech, I become so emotional. I understand that it’s not just because of the words within the so well-crafted speech that connects Oprah (along with us) back to her childhood, or even her captivating and powerful delivery. Yes, her speech builds up to a certain momentum–that’s true. But, Oprah uses this time, so elegantly, to teach us a grand history lesson about Recy Taylor and Rosa Parks. And to emphasize why that lesson is so important.

Sheila Murrey 2008 to 2018
Sheila Murrey 2008 to 2018

Definitions matter

While I understand that we may not always share the same word definitions, personally, yes, very personally and deep, Oprah’s speech resonates with me. Why? Because I have “been there.”

History of harassment

I have been in too many situations where I have been sexually harassed, intimidated, berated, held back from raises or promotions, mentally and physically abused, and more. And whether through ignorance, immaturity, or low self-esteem (low self worth), on some level, I allowed men (and even a few women) to belittle, bully, manipulate, or coerce me into doing things that—at least at the time—were not in my best interest and made me feel even worse about myself.

Inner Strength

Yes, you may think that I am strong. And many times I had to be strong. But I am sensitive, more serious than joyful, and quiet. I studied, prayed, and doggedly pulled myself through it all, (believing always with God’s help—even when I found myself in the most brazen of situations) because I had children to raise. And while I learned, forgave, and mustered through, there were times I faltered. There were times I got angry and stood up for myself and my children. But those times were rare, because it seemed there was always someone else standing near to be critical of my stance, not knowing (how could they?) of all the prior bullshit I had endured.

Only because of where I am now can I say, “Everything resolves to gratitude.

The end game

Because now, I get the end game. I’ve glimpsed the Great Beyond that awaits us all, where all of the tiny entanglements between us, all of the reasons, and nearly inconceivable intentions will be revealed!

I understand We Are All Connected, and that we are on a mysterious, yet marvelous journey in this life. That every little thing matters. That love, faith, gratitude, and joy are our rewards, and that we can experience them NOW.

The gratitude I carry with me today having come through all the chaos, does not mean I think it’s okay for abuse or bullying to occur, nor do I think it’s okay for anyone to remain in an abusive relationship. However, I know not everyone in an abusive relationship knows HOW to ask for help, or HOW to get out. I know that they may feel trapped.

Hope

More to my point though, is that I believe in hope, even if it’s only a glimmer, or only a fractal.

Take one step forward, then another. Hope. Ask. Share. Trust. Move forward with faith that you can heal, and that you can be free.

As my wise sister-in-law has taught me, “never let anyone steal your joy.” And there is always something to be joyful about, even if it’s only breath!

Live while you’re alive! Do things with people who fascinate you! Dream big!

Focus

Only you see life through your eyes. Only you can decide what’s right for you.

To those who do not like Oprah, or do not understand her speech, it’s probably because you have not been through hell, or not the kind she spoke about.

I would encourage you to refrain from judging her speech on snippets, pundits remarks, or whatever political motivations you might think she has, etc. because for some people (like me), her speech was so vindicating and liberating that we may never be the same!

Be IN Joy

I’ve been waiting a lifetime to hear it! And I am not alone. So, please, don’t steal our joy!

Thank you, Oprah!

Here’s to the many who will be empowered to say, “Me too. Until now.”

Be the person your Soul knows you are!

Namaste. OM

Everything resolves to Gratitude. Everything.

So today’s story (boys and girls), is about Gratitude with a capital G, in ALL circumstances:

A typical scenario

A corporate office type, yet meditative gentleman, drives over an hour each way to work, one afternoon notices a car flashing his lights at him.
Was the following driver a Good Samaritan (an angel) perhaps? Trying to warn our meditative man of something wrong?
As it turns out, after the gentleman arrives at work, he checks his rear tires and finds tread hanging from one of them! He has a spare, but prefers to buy two new tires.
He calls his wife on the phone.
But, his wife informs him that they have “no money in our budget for tires.”
Our main character becomes disgruntled.
Later the this man feels he wasn’t bold enough with his wife. However, from our vantage point, we can see that neither realized:

A) they should be grateful the man has a job and that he got to work okay (and did not have a tire blowout or cause an accident)
B) the good samaritan or angel warned him about the tire
C) that new tires are cheaper than accident related costs (deductible, time off work, etc)

After a tense dialog with wife about the tires…Man said his wife is under pressure preparing for a Bible study program.
We find that the irony in this story is:
What is the point of Bible study (or any spiritual practice) if we cannot open our eyes to all the blessings afforded to us in the moment they occur?

Caring About How You Feel

Wayne Dyer shares his own personal experiences with forgiveness, inspiration and creativity, and staying in tune with Source Energy while Abraham delivers poignant answers to both Wayne’s and in turn, humanity’s most pressing questions.
Do you have to constantly be aware of your thoughts? I mean they just come and—
No, but you do have to care about how you feel, because if you care about how you feel, when you start down the track that is not in keeping with the Source within you, you’ll feel the emptiness. Emptiness is a good description, because that’s exactly what it is. You have diverged from what Source thinks about a particular subject or situation.
That’s amazing, because years ago when Wayne first got a cell phone, he had to put an outgoing voicemail message on it, and was very heavy into Abraham-Hicks’ work at the time. And so his message said, “This is Wayne Dyer that you’ve reached. And I want to feel good. So if your message is designed to do anything other than that, you’ve reached the wrong number. Perhaps then you want to call Dr. Phil or someone, you know, who wants to hear bad news.” And so it was, that for many years, that was Wayne’s outgoing message on his voicemail–because he always wanted to feel good.
That’s the message that Source has, too.
Right.

Thus, when we’re having thoughts that don’t make us feel good—we’re in a relationship with someone that doesn’t feel good; we’re in a job that doesn’t feel good—is Source Energy going to offer us some experiences that are going to match up to what we are thinking that is feeling bad, feeling horrible?

Lessons

It isn’t Source that’s giving it to you. There are no lessons being applied.
Well, I mean certain people show up in your life experiences, synchronistic kinds of things.
Things are always working out for you—always.
So, it’s like your gauge to look at your feelings. What does this feel like in my body? And if it doesn’t feel good, instantly go back to whatever thought it is that I’m having that is allowing this to take place? I mean, can we all just always feel good all the time?
The way Abraham likes to explain it is that when you offer a thought about anything, Source, who is always walking with you, thinking with you, living with you, is having a thought about the same thing. And that’s really important to hear.

Soul-aligned Presence

And when you feel good, your thought is in sync with the way Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient Source thinks about it. And when you feel bad, you’re off the track of what Source knows about it. And you also have to understand that you are the one who came up with the desire to begin with. You are the one who told Source who-you-are and what you want. In other words, you are the creator of your own reality. Source is the one who holds the vibrational frequency of what you’re asking for.
If that’s a little much to grasp, think of it this way, you envision how you want your life to be, and God puts everything around you, for you to live your life, just as you envision it. However, you often can’t believe that is true, so your lack of Faith, makes that true. You live smaller than you could.

Not to dwell much about the negative thought, but “Do I have an improved option?”

Instead of labeling our thoughts positive and negative, let’s say, improved or not improved.

In other words, it’s the best thought we can find, at the time (as all of this is done “in the moment”).

Depending upon the lens you see life through, it could still be a negative thought, but it might be enough to shift your feelings a bit into the happier place.

So, we have to take negative and positive out of the equation because that causes someone else to want to apply their standards about whether it’s positive or negative, and nobody else can apply their standards.

The only question is, is it an improved thought for me?

I have been saying, “Thank you for helping me make a better choice” for some time when confronted with strangeness, odd or baffling behavior. Ahhh, yes, this takes a bit of practice (or play).

Now, I’ll say, “Thank you for helping me make an improved choice for me.”

Take a walk outside and look at all of the abundance of nature that surrounds you. God created that. And then think to yourself, God created You! As we learned in the Beattitudes, if God clothed the flowers in the field so gloriously, would God not also do the same for you, if you were to but Believe it into being?

Desires

It’s not possible for you to desire something that would be detrimental to anyone, and feel good at the same time, because if you set forth an intention like that, you would deviate from the vibration of Source and you would feel the emptiness of it.
So, there is no need to worry that something you may want, would in any way reduce it from someone else (or keep it away from someone else). It is not selfish to desire. It is only selfish to hoard what you have.
Desire, create, and then GIVE out of Gratitude! #GRATITUDE
So, it really is all about caring about the way you feel, about thinking more deliberately and on point about how you feel. And maintain your FOCUS.

Takeaways

My takeaways are:
  • Ask myself, does this thought or statement, unify or divide?
  • How does it make me feel?
  • Emotions were given to me by my LIMITLESS, Ever-Living, Filling ALL Space, Creator Source Energy God — do I honor my feelings??
  • If not, then move toward finding ways to feel better (not worse) about whatever subject I’m thinking about.
  • Is X of value to me right now?
  • Abraham’s or anyone else’s opinion is irrelevent.
  • It’s only ever and always about, “How does it make me feel”?
Better feeling thoughts about work:

not my circus
not my circus

  • Who’s running the asylum?
  • Not my Circus, not my monkeys!
  • Thank you for helping me make a better choice.
  • I can always choose to be kind.
  • I can always send them love.

And you know what? Even if you can’t control the circus or the monkeys, you CAN control how YOU manage your Energy (your response in any situation).

In conclusion

How you feel about yourself, affects others. Walk in Gratitude ALL ways.
And if you ever feel that you’ve messed up, it’s okay. Because in the end, everything resolves to Gratitude. Yes, really, it does.
If you need a little help, a hand up, then reach out to me.
Thank you.

Be the person your Soul knows you are!
