Something I Don’t Talk About…

Something I don’t talk about

When I was a child

I distinctly recall a night, many years ago, while mom was driving us home – I became intrigued by power lines along the road. I gazed out the window and mused about electricity, or better yet, energy. I’ve never publicly discussed this memory before.

All things Energy interest me
All things Energy interest me

I remember reverse engineering the power process. While looking at those electric lines I mentally traced the energy flowing from pole to pole, all the way to our house. I wondered where the source was. I asked mom, “how does the energy come through these lines to our house, to the street lights, etc.?” I think this must have surprised her, because I don’t think she had an answer for me. Or perhaps whatever answer she provided didn’t resolve my curiosity. I somehow intrinsically became aware the seemingly endless supply of power to our home via these electric lines and I was transfixed, totally mesmerized as to how it worked. I also felt connected to this somehow. I yearned to understand.

From my now perspective

Looking back, I’m surprised I didn’t seek work for a power company – but my first job was waiting tables. And my first college course was electronics. (For years I’ve credited my interest in electronics to my dad who ran a CB radio business on the side from our home). Now I believe this early experience was the catalyst of “why” I wanted to learn about electronics, computers, and more specifically, frequency.

Now, all things energy interest me. Anything and everything about it. Bioenergy, particles and waves, energy healing, etc.

However, my career to date has been – computers. Early on I wanted to build them, I was fascinated with the early circuit boards. I loved using meter tools to measure how much power it took to make small lights (LEDs) come on, etc. But when that didn’t work out, I started selling computers – as well as, providing setup, delivery, and training.

Selling computers (coupled with that first electronics class) led me to a job where I could learn more, involving inputting data into database systems. My natural ability to put people at ease and be inquisitive, along with many  influential people helped along the way:

  • An unknown RCA technician man who told me “if you wear glasses now you won’t want to work on what’s coming” (and what was coming was surface mount technology)
  • My friend Margie who took me by the hand and pushed me to register for that electronics course
  • An acquaintance who suggested I apply for a job at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as we drove by on the way to pick up carpet out of his small plane which, I had offered to clean
  • Bill Gates, love him or not – I’ve had a wonderful career due to Microsoft operating systems / software

Not long after I bought my first personal computer I began developing websites, and learning how to configure sections, or modules, of large and complex database systems – some proprietary and some commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software applications. The end result though was to always fulfill my clients’ needs. Most of the time my needs were met too – that of being able to work with energy – in a box kind of way.

I think in terms of “processes.” I’m always looking for ways, even when out and about, where I could take a manual process and add electronics to aid in the ease of doing something. My “process thinking” helps me quickly analyze business needs, and work at an eager pace to provide value to clients to help work flow better.

Speaking of “flow”, that brings me back full circle to where this conversation began – the flow of energy through those electric lines which, first grabbed my attention when I was just five or six years old.

Radio Frequency Analogy to Getting What We Want

radio

Do you have what you want?

Do you know what you want?

I’ve heard it said that most people really do not know what they want. Sure you may want to buy a new pair of shoes, or a piece of furniture, a car, a house, but what about after you have all of those “things”?

Write down 3 things you want. These can be small or large – I’ll encourage you by sharing 3 things I want:

  1. Peace on earth
  2. More time with loved ones
  3. A reason to wake up and be excited to go to “work” everyday = career passion

Now for the analogy. Let’s keep it simple – if you’re an electronics engineer feel free to email me and correct me but I’m trying to keep this elementary simplistic.

In order for you to turn your radio dial (for those old enough to think of a radio dial that way), or punch in the number to hear a favorite radio station, you really only need to know what frequency your station is transmitting on. In order for my radio to play the music I like I punch in the numbers 105.9 – inputting those numbers aligns the frequency (energy) to the radio station. I can move the numbers up or down just a tiny bit and all that does is make the station sound fuzzy – not so clear. To get the clearest sound I must be right on the numbers.

If I turn my radio on and don’t punch in any numbers all I hear is STATIC. And for me, that’s not a pleasant sound. So the radio frequency analogy to getting what I want out of life is this: Static is like living without intention or focus – sort of just hanging out in neutral without any direction.

There’s a tower somewhere broadcasting the signal on that frequency – and your radio station must be tuned EXACTLY to that frequency or it will not clearly RECEIVE the signal. The closer you are to the tower – the better reception. For example, if you’re in the country you won’t hear your radio station clearly, if at all. If you’re in the city, you will pick up a lot more clear radio stations along the dial – so you’ll even have more choices!

Perhaps it’s self evident that some amount of focus, of attention is needed to attain any desire. Whether you call it positive thinking or not – it does seem logical – the more you think about what you desire the closer you will be to achieving it. The more you surround yourself with those who are transmitting the “vibes” that put you into your good feeling place, the more likely you are to feel good. Think of the song, “Good Vibrations”. They were really tuned into this mindset when they wrote that song. Conversely, if you’re around people transmitting harsh or rude words, even if it’s just the tones of their voice, it won’t feel good to you. Remember that song, “Don’t bring me down”?

So here’s the deal. If talking to others about everything that’s going on in their lives energizes you, that’s the frequency you’ve tuned in to. And if that’s what you want – that’s good. If you want more drama in your life, complain about EVERYTHING. That’s a frequency also. The fun part to this is we all want different things and life means different things to each of us. Just ask yourself, “How is that working for you?” Do you have what you want, or not? Consider whether you need to adjust your frequency dial. Do things you want come easily into your experience or do they always feel they are somehow at arms length?

I have heard it said and seen many a bumper sticker: BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD. To me, the radio frequency analogy illustrates this very well. Keep tuning into the frequency of what you want. Since I want peace on earth, I want to hang out with people who make me feel peaceful. I want to spend some time alone each day in thought, prayer, meditation – and walk my dogs. (smile) I believe that once my third desire manifests it will automatically fulfill the second one.

When I talk or write about deep things like, spirituality and living a naturally healthy life – I FEEL wonderful. I’ve never publicly talked about this before but when I’m having those conversations I actually feel a tingling vibration in my body (internal not on the skin) similar to goose bumps. It doesn’t last very long, perhaps less than a minute or two. I’ve asked several people what this means and have heard everything from, “it’s the angels communicating with you”, to “it’s the universe letting you know you’re on the right path”. I remain open to figuring it out and eager to understand it.

People always say when your work is something you love – it’s no longer “work”. People also say when you put passion and action together – the money will come.

What new frequency do you have to tune into to get what you want out of life?

Health and Original Music

Health and original music

How can I possibly write about focus, intention, analysis, and energy – under the heading of Health and Original Music without it becoming some mish-mash of unrelated and random thoughts? The sheer definition of the word “focus” seems to defy the writing of such an article.

Alignment

I believe it’s possible to observe, experience, and identify all kinds of things in life. In fact, science is all about observing, identifying, and quantifying things in an objective manner.

So when most people think in analytical terms, they are observing, experiencing (or testing), identifying, and validating things.

To me, magic is created when seemingly unrelated things come together to create synergy. And synergy is energy – albeit an innovative form of energy. Taking apart some things and putting them together in a new and exciting way = innovation.

Sound is healing

It seems every time I check out health related videos I find original music being played, either in the intro, as background, or closing music.

It seems that while people are being creative in one art form, they can also be free to create in another.

A lot of actors are musicians, and vice versa. Some musicians are also painters, sculptors, etc. I’ve linked to some examples for you – hear the original music playing for The Raw Life Health Show, and The Raw Food World. Also, the founder of Natural News TV is a musician – check out one of Rick Adams’ music videos. My artist musician husband has written a song about health (well sort of) too – it’s called, “Whose Dentures.”

Songwriting

So I pondered on the process of writing a song – since I’m such a “process person”. In order to write a song, you analyze a topic – this may include: pondering, wondering, researching, studying, investigating, meditating, praying, being still, and more). Then with focus and intention the song takes shape. As you play the song allow your soul and spirit to open, this gets the creative juices and energy flowing – and magic happens! You’ve created something that’s never existed before! Of course, it’s an art not a science because whether people like a song is completely subjective.

The Process

I work as a business technical analyst. I have to focus and work in a very detailed way. My work involves finding and analyzing data very intensely. Yet, I have to allow myself breaks, so I can back away from the details and analyze the business process of what’s going on (in order to improve it).

I document and diagram business processes, so I can relay the reasons why software must be designed in a certain way–for ease of use.

Almost daily, I communicate to customers, management, project sponsors, and vendor partners. I have to ask myself and many others, thought provoking questions. That’s where I can get creative – in the asking. I communicate with others in order to validate my findings and keep the work progressing with forward motion.

The analysis I perform must always be objective.

When someone is “in the weeds” of project details, it can often be difficult to see any high-level process changes that might be needed to improve, or smooth out the overall process.

I reach into my Soul and ask Spirit to keep me calm when stressful moments begin to build.

Sometimes my work can energize me, yet other times I am drained when too many conflicting constraints and shifting priorities occur.

My inner child feels as though, at times, a tantrum or too wouldn’t be half bad to ease my frustration, however I realize that wouldn’t be professional behavior to display.

I often counsel with others to learn if I am missing something or if they know of another way around whatever obstacle is occurring.

Yes, I seek to identify and validate.

And through all of this I strive to be healthy.

Health isn’t just a fit body that doesn’t experience illness. Mental health is just as important as physical health.

Allowing myself time to honor my intentions, honor my focus, drive, ambition, and passion – all contributes to keeping me balanced and objective.

Often, I sing, and allow music to truly soothe the inner turmoil savage beast.

Notice, the next time you go for a massage, they usually have soothing music being softly played to calm you and put your body at ease.

Original Music For The “Thinking Person”

Welcome to the first article in my blog!

Friends coaxed me to write a blog – though I had designed, developed, and maintained two websites, joined Facebook, Twitter, and had begun to write a book. I didn’t have much readership, so I couldn’t understand why anyone would want me to write a blog. Nor did I want to spend much time promoting a free blog, when I thought my energies would be better spent writing a book.

CD cover Chevy Ford Band: Dogma

I hesitated to start this blog, because I thought it would distract me–and I really wanted to finish the book before starting anything else. I even quit Facebook for a couple of years so I could finish my book!

Anyway, after a workout session in the gym, and continuing to experience a nagging thought that wouldn’t go away, I started the blog.

Dumb and Dumber

People have talked about the “Dumbing Down of America” for many years.

Media, TV shows, and movies entertain in such simple words and stories that nobody’s doing much thinking anymore.

People seem to be going here and there in a mindless fog. Entertainment is used as a means of escapism, from the stress of work, family drama, or as a way to relax. Many are unwittingly being dumbed down.

Now, we’re thinkin’

Yet for years, this band has been circulated around on the internet called, The Chevy Ford Band. And they’re on a mission to educate the masses through music – maybe that’s why they haven’t caught on with the mainstream public.

The music is about politics, religion, truth, and even sex. The lyrics are intelligent and perhaps, not for everybody.

Take a listen (on my home page footer) to our original songs. We think the songs would work beautifully as music for films and motion pictures. Let us know what you think!

My favorite songs of The Chevy Ford Band are:

  • Crush them with Rock
  • Dogma
  • Energy
  • Over my Head
  • Sunset

The upbeat tempos are great to work out with or dance to, plus I love the lyrics! I love to move and dance to high energy uptempo music that motivates and encourages me to move my body more! I sit all day for the most part and moving helps me release tension and stress!

The controversial song, “Attention Deficit Disorder” takes aim at how the ADD disorder is impacting many around us. That song inspires me to do everything I can to help people learn the Hippocratic oath, “Let Food Be Thy Medicine, and Medicine Be Thy Food.”

I’ve worked with or known people who have children with autism, parents with alzheimer’s, or they themselves have diabetes, recurring acid reflux, high blood pressure, and many other chronic ailments and dis-eases.

Since I’m an empathic person, and reasonably intelligent, I’d love to help them, and their loved ones, find relief. So, I continue to research and share. However, I’m not a health care practitioner, so I share my findings as a friend, natural holistic and alternative health advocate.

Coming next

Future posts in this blog will be related to energy work and other holistic alternative healing modalities. My other site, Being Wholly Vibrant, will share about diet, real food, and easy healthy whole food recipes. As well as book and product reviews.

I’ll also write about original music, social media advertising, health, technology, designing marketing materials, finding our bliss, and other consciousness expanding stuff!

Stay tuned. 🙂
