When we have no words: Sit with it

Listen, sometimes we don’t have the words. The words just aren’t IN us to express our innermost feelings. And as I drive to the post office to mail my lovely and dear three young granddaughters their copy of Blue Eyes: Ethereal Messages of Connection, I’ve signed and written a little sentence or mantra in each one (Thank Omniscience God) to always find joy. (I’m sooo thankful for getting this book done and for my family).

I’m crying. And I am in a stupor. I’m stupefied. Why am I crying? And then I sit here for a moment. And I realize I can’t put this sadness into words except to say, sit with it. Sit with it, Sheila, and see what you can milk out of this experience. Oh, I wish I could be there! I would love to see your faces when you open the package and Mommy sits you down and says, “Now girls–because the twins are five–these are big books; these are books for you to keep for your whole life from your Grammy; these are books you will probably cherish and adore.” (Speaking about myself in third person) Even though Grammy meditates as a Buddhist now and doesn’t want you to attach or cherish anything–of course she’s attached to you, cherishes and adores you!

We live so far away (emotions). And I ask myself, what’s stopping us from being together? In many cases, it’s because right now it is winter. It’s cold (up north) and sometimes the weather is too bad to travel. So the weather limits humans. Yes, often the weather is limiting. (sniff! emotions!) And that’s okay.

Grammy has always wanted to live in Florida! Grammy prefers the sunshine, the palm trees, and the salty air of Florida. And the older Grammy gets (speaking in the third person), the more I miss a little bit of hill country. So that’s why I’m looking forward to moving to the Ocala area somewhere in the north-central area of Florida where there are hills, but I don’t miss the mountains, not as your mommy (my daughter) did for many years. Your mommy didn’t really like Florida because she missed the mountains, but now you’re in New England. There are mountains and lots of beautiful fall foliage to look at in wonderment. And that’s a beautiful thing.

We hope that unseen viruses and silly government policies and regulations don’t prohibit our visiting. We hope our health stays good too, so we can drive to visit this spring. We love you so much, your grandpa (grampy) and me, all three of you girls! Oh, and mommy to my beautiful daughter. So yes, in the book, beautiful daughter is chapter four. And I do talk about and mention my lovely granddaughters.

So I dedicate this blog post and all my thoughts about missing you yet, being close to you in spirit. I dedicate these thoughts to these words that say eventually did come. I dedicate these words to the loves of my heart. Thank you. Thank you ALL. Much love and many blessings. May these words bring you peace, ease, and comfort, and may you find joy in everything. In ALL ways, always.

Be the best version of who you want to be–because if you’re reading my words your soul is probably beckoning you to align with it and live up to your highest ideals. Not perfect because who is perfect? Most stagnate or ‘get stuck’ while on their way to being whatever they think perfection is. Making progress is enough. Carrying your Karma lightly is enough. Be kind to yourself while living responsibly. Who you ARE affects us ALL. We Are All Connected.

No one cares when I cry

No one cares when I cry.

Have you ever felt like mo one cares when I cry, or that no one cares when you do any of the following:

  • Finish a blog post (so they sit in my Drafts folder)
  • Wait to add photos to a blog article until after I post it (so why do I feel I must note that the image will be inserted soon?)
  • Feel the need to explain myself
  • Finish reading a book (often it takes me a year to read one; some I read in less than a month though!)
  • Finish a project around the house or on my laptop that I’ve had in progress for months/years
  • Make a list of 29 things to do and tick them off one by one
  • Post a book review (even for a friend?)
  • Invite others to join me on trips or weekend events
  • Make a raw vegan carrot cake (that was a new recipe)
  • Wash dishes by hand (I haven’t used the dishwasher, except once to test it, since we moved to this condo last September!)
  • Wait til the last week to buy tickets to an event (if it sells out, I take that as a sign I wasn’t supposed to go)
  • Make my bed (especially now that we only sleep under a sheet?)
  • Wait to take a shower (all week! Thank God for Zoom meetings! Haha)
  • Go without wearing a bra (Hubby likes it! Haha)
  • Brush my teeth once a day (but my teeth have suffered)
  • Write a poem
  • Create a piece of art

Do you ever feel like no one cares when you cry, or any of these other things in the list above?

I wondered what Google thought about this topic and when I typed in the first few words, this is what I saw:

No one cares when I cry- Google list

Why do you think no one cares when I cry, or when you cry?

Why do you think no one cares when I cry, or when you cry?

Perhaps this is why we feel depressed or lonely? Because we want someone to care or seek Connection or attention. Hmm.

Perhaps this is why we procrastinate on doing any of the things in the list?

Can we figure out a way to feel better?

Does it bother or upset you after you’ve taken some time to analyze this?

Perhaps we make others feel depressed when we cry? Or we trigger their feelings of guilt, as they may think they need to do something to ease our crying or dry our tears?

Have you ever had anyone laugh at you when you’re crying? Maybe if you’re crying during a sad scene in a movie? And why is that annoying? It’s happened to me and I felt quite annoyed.

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking these thoughts or feeling these emotions. What are your thoughts on this topic?
