The new podcast interview experience was GREAT!

I had such a grand time on Julia’s Anchor Haven Debrief podcast! I met Julia via Gina Virginia Casella (see end of this article for more regarding Gina’s Dragon Dreamers conference on June 13th). And I do hope some of you can join us all day on June 13th for that. Gina and everyone on the team, as well as us presenters have been working hard to ensure everyone will gain new insights and perspectives on a range of subjects, so I think it will be worth your time and $40 to watch/listen. I know I’m excited about it!

The episode of Anchor Haven’s Debrief I was on can be found at: https://youtu.be/pBlP6SFGKWA?si=OdBt-aewcR9hBTnQ or at: https://www.youtube.com/live/qQZZBdXNYRw?si=ff3HJwmesamPb9q-

Not sure why it’s there twice, with one having 112 views as of today and the other having 41 views. The time is the same, so I believe the videos are the same, only the thumbnail is different. I’m including both links so choose whichever works for you.

New Movement – Vanja’s Moves Method

After prayer, I began seeing a LOT of video ads from a gal in Australia named, Vanja. Perhaps you’ve seen those ads too, where she squats, and hangs, does splits, and all kinds of things. She’s incredibly flexible and STRONG! Of course, she’s much younger than ME, but she says she’s taught people much older than me how to get their mobility back! Ha! I didn’t believe it at first, but after watching more and having a one hour discovery call (which I did NOT buy into their personalized training program).

I did spend $27 on Vanja’s “toolkit,” which is why they routed me to have that one hour discovery call, and that toolkit gives me the beginner movements to follow to see if I like how they train. If nothing else, I’m looking at this as a way to replace the Pilates class I used to go to when we lived in Florida. And other than buying one piece of equipment to hang on, I won’t have to make any other purchases. I’m building my belief in this because every day, I’m squatting more and for longer time (seconds still at this point), and I’ve lost an inch off my waist–in 5 DAYS! I don’t weigh myself, I measure. But when I get my blood labs done the end of June, I’m sure they will tell me how much I weigh. Ugh.

Here’s the first few video “shorts” of the training I’ve been doing:

Day 2 of squatting: https://youtube.com/shorts/er0HbE2-Rxg?si=gPiWTStX14dLmH5l

And then I progressed to: https://youtube.com/shorts/n0a84v57Dc0?si=2aOrfzwSGuByzXom

And compared to: https://youtube.com/shorts/zRk0SngiwEg?si=MKiUwNbOxcDO8Mqd

I’m really getting to the point where I look forward to hanging and squatting as soon as I wake up in the mornings! Today is Day 13 of doing the Moves Method and as I told my naturopathic doctor yesterday, I’m a believer! I feel better overall and getting a bit of zest for life back! Ha! Oh, and he found the root cause of my numb toes issue yesterday… so I can continue working on the bottom of my left foot, doing a cross-fiber massage on it while holding my toes back with the other hand! I’d never held my toes back before while massaging my feet, so there’s that. Go figure!

Video book reviews

I’m almost done creating a new video book review, part 1 for the daily devotional I’ve been reading (that was a birthday gift from my bestie since 4th grade), Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. I have been getting a LOT out of it, though I am often several days behind in my reading and so the “daily” part of it has been the most challenging. This is definitely getting me into the habit of spending time with Christ Jesus every day… I believe that’s what the word, commitment is all about too! Spending the time.

Once that’s on my YouTube channel, I’ll start working on a video book review, part 1 on The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche that my Theosophy/Buddhist book club is reading and discussing. It’s DEEP and so rewarding! . Then, I’ll review Russell Brand’s new book, How to Become a Christian in Seven Days. Finally, I’ll circle back around to finish up the 2nd part of my review of Jennifer Carey’s book, Illuminating the Stories that Bind Us. The link to the part 1 video book review of it is: https://youtu.be/NtHNcOlCOMY?si=7ChQiP-m-6CXrKDM I’m almost finished with Jen’s book too, and will begin putting together a video review for it in July.

Unsolicited Radio is now on Rumble!

Our Unsolicited Radio channel is still rolling along, though I have had some ridiculous arguments with YouTube, so I’ve began adding all of our videos onto Rumble! I won’t muck and mire about YouTube, but I am NOT happy with THEM! I’ve been creating a new music show daily and adding it to YouTube and Rumble. Most premiere about 11am eastern time each day. I’m not including each link below, but here’s a few to get you started and you can check out the others on your own:

Crossovers music show #1: https://youtu.be/tzc56nat5BM

Crossovers music show #2: https://youtu.be/ojn1hHglOGc

Follow me on Rumble via link at the very bottom of this article and yes, all four of these radio shows are now on Rumble. I’m working on 6 more crossover shows and a couple of pop music shows too! So very busy!

Couple sketches

As you know, I continue to use my friend, Linda Lewis’ sketches as models–follow Linda at: https://creativeartworksblog.com and this is not a sketch of hers but a picture of a piece of driftwood that I thought I might be able to sketch:

Driftwood face photo – original artist unknown but found on Linda’s Creative Artworks blog.

This is a trinket dish I made from clay at the art studio and after it was fired once, I went back to paint it. I chose to antique it so that’s why you see more of the color in the crevices and lighter on the rest of the plate/bowl. I love how it turned out! –Sheila Murrey
And this is a flower casting made from a clay imprint I made and then poured plaster into, to turn out this casting. Unfortunately, the plaster wasn’t measured properly, so the flowers didn’t come out the way we expected. The studio has offered I come back for another class gratis. I don’t know if I will. I simply filed down the rough spots on the flowers and painted it. I probably could have done a better job of painting it, but plaster soaks up a lot of paint. –Sheila Murrey

I’m working on one now that my daughter sketched and then painted on canvas at the art studio where she works. I’ll have it ready to show in a few days, but I am busy practicing my keynote speech for Saturday’s conference, so I may not post again for a week. You know how it goes!

Here’s the link where you can grab a copy of, We Are All Connected: The How and The Why. An analytical mind searches for answers. I’ve now sold several copies, even one to someone in Australia! So, I’ve made $40 from Amazon. I’m still working on reformatting the book though so hopefully the paperback version will print better. I’m still aggravated with how some people’s paperback copies had blurry print, even one told me the print looked like the printer had began running out of ink! Ugh. If that happens, get your money back from Amazon. I want you to have a readable copy!

JIGGLE WIGGLE and the MOVES

Since hurting myself in January, I’ve been taking it slow like a snail on the dancing, and instead focusing on rehab exercises for strengthening the big muscle that runs from one’s back up/around the shoulder, the low back muscles that can cause sciatica pain, and the outer calf muscle in the leg that runs down and around the ankle and feeds he nerves of the toes! Thus, you’ll be seeing more Vanja Moves Method “short” videos on my channel before anymore dancing.

Currently, I’m challenging myself to use the $27 “toolkit” series of movements from Vanja for the next 4-8 weeks and take it from there. Our son-in-law just setup and put together my pull-up bar equipment I’d ordered from Walmart so I could do the hang movement properly. People were getting concerned that I was going to hurt myself more by trying to hang from the backside of a door, or from the edge of the 2nd story floor that runs above the stairwell. I know that’s hard to visualize and it was even harder to film. I have videos of all the ways I’d tried to hang around this 140-year old house. None of which were safe! So, I took it upon myself to buy a special apparatus for hanging. Hanging decompresses our backs! Who knew? Plus the granddaughters LOVE it! They want one for their room! LOL I told them they can come over any time and hang out with me. They are naturally very good at hanging and doing all kinds of gymnastics type moves on it and no one trained them! Ah, kids!

In my YouTube channel, I encourage those “over 50” to:

  • Open to lifelong learning (observe, gently question, and loosen up pre-conceived beliefs, aka ‘Programming’)
  • Become more aware of our thoughts and emotions to encourage more ease
  • Loosen up and move our bodies (we’re stuck in our heads also due to our “Programming” and physically unhealthy)
  • And become strong and resilient in spirit, soul, mind, and body.
  • And to question EVERYTHING!

Here’s where you can access my YouTube channel videos: https://youtube.com/@spiralsister and I have been linking to Vanja too, in the description of my video shorts, in case you are interested in who I’m learning this stuff from re: mobility and movement to rehab my body.

Integrating the Spirals: Fall update on my plants, making Halloween art, and the house

I’m often too wordy. So, I’ll keep this short and simply give you some visual updates on what’s changed around the house. We live in the apartment attached to the back of the house, so my plants only get the afternoon sun. And the side of the house that gets the most wind is the side that shows the most wear (yes, it needs painted or siding put on it).

The house

The side that gets beat on by weather the most. The sun porch gets the worst of it. There’s some wood that needs replaced under the windows. The window to the far left is in our apartment (and it’s behind the head of my bed).
This is the worst of the wood that needs replaced.
Close up of peeling paint. It’s been ten years since it has been painted. My son-in-law would like to fix the wood and paint it so he doesn’t lose the architectural details, but my daughter would like to put siding on the house so they don’t have to paint it again.
This is the back side of the house, which is our apartment. Thankfully, we have this back door and deck because we use it a lot. I’d like to clean up the landscaping around the deck and have more lavender and such growing there, but I am simply not that fit to be out there digging up weeds, cleaning out what’s under the deck, placing pavers or rocks, etc. I can envision it, but will need someone else to do the manual labor.

My plants

These are all the herbs I repotted. This is how they looked on their last day outside (Oct. 8th, 2025). I’ll compare them to this picture in the spring when I bring them back outside after the winter is done. I have three pots of basil, three of parsley, two of oregano, and one of dill. I don’t expect the dill to do much over the winter, but the little yellow flowers are supposed to turn into seeds I can replant in the spring. We’ll see!
These are the plants that will stay outside all winter. Basil, Lavender, Peppermint, and oregano. I will figure out some better stands next spring to make this look prettier. But the plastic tub and lids were “what I had” when we moved in and I spent my money on new pots instead of plant stands, etc.
The big plant is actually five bell pepper plants that I started from seed in July. Yes, I started them too late in the season, so I didn’t expect they’d even do this good. They got to the flowering stage a couple. of weeks before it got cold. I expect by November it will be done. But we’ll see!

My spa room

I got all the plants repotted and moved indoors (by the window) last week. The door to the left goes into Richard’s music room. The silver tent is my Relax sauna. I love it! It’s the best thing I’ve bought for this room and my health! I moved all of my medicinal tinctures and supplements to the bookshelves too, so anytime I need a boost or am feeling unwell, I have everything I need right next to the sauna. After I get out of the sauna I can rest by laying down on the red light pad with its nine PEMF settings.
I moved my Therasage 7-modality heating pad upstairs to the lounge chair too, because I got us something for Christmas (it’s already here but I haven’t opened the box yet) that we’ll use downstairs (and it will provide us with MORE red light therapy)!

Two clay ghosts I made for Halloween

This was my first time working from a block of clay. And I had to flatten it out first, and that took more time than I’d thought it would. And a bit more shoulder and arm strength. But I got it done. After rolling the clay out, I wrapped it around two cone shaped paper forms to get it into the basic ghost shape:

flattening out the clay. We worked on the back of an art canvas to keep the table clean. And we used dowel rods to ensure we got the clay as thin as possible.
My two ghosts. This was how I left them at the studio before the first kiln firing.

I took some pictures of some of the other class attendees’ clay creations too!

Someone did a neat job on this jack-o-lantern and witch hat.
Clay ghost and pumpkins. They got three projects out of that one block of clay!
I really like this persons pumpkin! I never thought about adding anything to my ghosts.
This person added a hat to her ghost and did some cutouts on it too! This is going to look really cute when they finish it and set the little battery operated tea light candle under it!
And I loved this clay witch hat! Wow! Cute jack-o-lantern too, that they made a patch of grass or something underneath it to sit on.
Got the ghosts from the kiln and went back to the studio to paint them with glaze. I chose two different colors of glaze, a white and light gray for shading. We’ll see how they turn out. I’ll come back and update this post with a couple pictures after they come out of the kiln again.

I hope everyone’s ready for All Hallow’s Eve in a couple of weeks! And I hope everyone has fun and enjoys the spooky time. I’m looking forward to the annual pumpkin festival here!
