April 16th – High on toad (day after paying taxes)

It’s April 16th, 2024; Here’s an original hard-driving rock song to help you smile today. This particular original rock song got The Righteous Buds a whole lot of applause when they played it Live (around Brevard County Florida in the mid-2000s). It seemed quite the appropriate song to talk about here on the day after ‘Tax Day’ in the USA. Suffering taxpayers might find a bit of relief listening to this rock song.

Fun fact: High on Toad was one of my son’s girlfriends’ favorite songs! She’d sing it around the house when she visited us.

Too broke for booze?

Here’s the one-hundred-seventh new music post for 2024, as I consistently find an original song of ours that will expand your consciousness, put a gleam in your eye, or smile on your face! Ha! Get high lickin’ a toad! I never knew anything about such things until I met Richard, so I think it applies to my overall theme in this blog about ‘raising consciousness’. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Between paying our taxes the other day and preparing to move, we’re too broke for booze. Not sure the right kind of toad lives in Florida though, for us to use as a substitute. Ha!

Different highs

I know there are all kinds of ‘highs’ and we get high on music for the most part, though a good Pinot Noir, Malbec, or sake works for us too. And now I also have my CBD gummies to help me sleep, so there’s that.

I’m sure glad I took the time to visit friends during all the years we have lived in Florida. We’ll miss them. But we will look back on our Florida years with gratitude. And we’re very thankful to have lived our dreams here in the Sunshine State. The countdown is on! We move in TWO WEEKS!

It’s April 8th, 2024; Here’s an original country rock song with a story about time that seems to be right on time today, with the solar eclipse! Ha! I love it when things like this happen; when the synchronicities align.

Here’s the ninety-ninth new music post for 2024, as I consistently offer up one of our original songs, and this time it’s a country fusion sound. April 3rd – I can move slow

It’s April 3rd, 2024; Here’s an original jazzy rock song for fun! The racers in the song’s story can move slow when they want to, when it feels right, or when it matters. Moving all the time, gotta run, can’t stay, get out of my way! That’s the story most of us tell throughout our lives, but can we move slow? I can move slow.

Here’s the ninety-fourth new music post for 2024, as I rev my ever-so-consistent engine to show off one of our original songs each day. We’re fuel-injected, turbo-rized, liquid-charged, maximized, built-to-last, a thrill to chase! Ha! And the jazzy saxophone of John Heinrich adds such a racy flair to this original song. April 2nd – This way naturally

It’s April 2nd, 2024; Here’s an original rockin’ country song for your listening pleasure! The guy the story is about seems to be 100% pure beefcake! LOL! I think the sound of this tune is rockabilly. The vocals on this original song remind me of George Strait. We had this done in the Nashville, TN studio years ago so I’ve forgotten who sang it. I’ll come back and update this if we think of his name.

Naturally speaking

Here’s the ninety-third new music post for 2024, as I pat myself on the back for being so consistent in getting one of our original songs out to y’all each day.

As I shared yesterday, I go ‘au naturale’ most of the time (no makeup or fancy perfumes, etc.), so I consider myself a natural woman. And that makes this song such a treat for me! I recall how one of the chefs we used to watch on TV said her grandmother told her, “If you liked the way a man’s armpits smelled, naturally, then he was the one for you!” Ha!

One of my blogger friends, 80sMetalman, offered a comment on yesterday’s post that women in France, Italy, and Spain don’t shave their underarms. I guess then that I’m so Bohemian! LOL

Speaking of au naturale

There’s a lot to be said for letting our natural scent fill the air around us. I know no one wants to smell bad, but if you go au naturale for a few days, you’ll find out if you need to detox or not–most of us do! The less your body, or anything that comes out of you, smells, the less toxic your body is. There’s your health tip of the day! Ha!

Magnesium meme: I do use and promote Jordan Essentials magnesium sticks, sprays, and lotions. They help my knees and fingers so much! (They offer great scents too, but for au naturale folks, we love the unscented.)

Here’s the ninety-second new music post for 2024, as I consistently enjoy sharing one of our original songs every day–and today I’m howling! Ha! Bushy pits. While we listened to this pop song Richard said, “I have no idea why I wrote this.” More laughter!

I do go ‘au naturale,’ but Richard didn’t write this song for me; I didn’t quit shaving my underarms for many years after he wrote this original rock song. I also quit wearing makeup too, except for special occasions, so yes, I’m a natural woman. And I continue to laugh every time I listen to this song!

March 30th – You never know until you go

It’s March 30th, 2024; Here’s an original swingin’ rock song–okay maybe it’s a rockin’ country song. You tell me! As I was about to say this is a rock song, the vocal sure has a country sound–don’t you think? But the overall groove feels like a rock tune. I’m stumped! Ha! Maybe this is because of the way in which I listen to music. I’m always sort of turning it around in ALL ways–especially as I consider what I’ll write about it.

Here’s the eighty-ninth new music post for 2024, as I consistently communicate through this blog about our original songs every day in the hopes of having the songs heard. I find the lyrics in this song sooo interesting since I talk a lot about ‘always and all ways.’ Have you ever felt misunderstood? Or have you felt you might have been able to convey your thoughts and feelings in a better way? This song is for you:

Thank you, Peter!

We just finished watching Peter Santenello’s latest video on YouTube. I loved his final words, “You never know until you go.” And that’s my mantra now, for our move from Florida to New England in a month. Of course, I’d love to try this French bread, ginger cakes, gumbo, and prawns (yes, Peter, those were prawns in my estimation–not just shrimp)! Haha!

Oh, and were the sweet potatoes still in the bed of your truck after you got back from the sugar plantation?

I’ll keep this short today, so we can get back to a movie we’re watching. I’ll share about it tomorrow. Have some down time today in prep for Easter tomorrow. Much love!

March 29th – Enjoying each day

It’s March 29th, 2024; Here’s an original honky tonk song about a hell of a man. As I was about to say this is a rock song, I suddenly realized it’s a swingin’ country genre of music! I guess this reminded me right away of the Stray Cats kind of music (for the tone of the guitar, I don’t know). Then I was reminded of Merle Haggard and the honky tonk music he used to play. And I also thought about Dwight Yoacam–didn’t he also play honky tonk music? Yes! He even did a song called, Honky Tonk Man. (Here’s a previous post about him.) Okay, so I looked up honky tonk and found it is a subgenre of Country Music.

Hell on Good Friday

Here’s the eighty-eighth new music post for 2024, as I consistently share one of our original songs each day. I just found it funny to write about Hell on Good Friday. Not like I was trying to be sacrilegious or anything. Far from it. It just happened to work out that way as this was the next song in the YouTube library. I do skip a few ahead if I see a song coming up that would fit a holiday better, or if we have a new song back from the studio to share. But alas, we are where we are with this one.

I like the lyrics in this song. What do you think? I also like the swinging tune! It’s very easy to dance to, especially the 2-step.

Thankful for friends

Here’s my ‘hell of a man’ Richard at one of the sites we saw in Edinburgh, Scotland (2019). We were walking to meet a friend, a gentleman who had sung one of Richard’s rock songs, and we walked by this door (or gate). Richard asked me to snap his picture by this door so he could do something in Photoshop with it. This door reminded us of our working years at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). I thought it would be a good picture to share today since we just enjoyed breakfast with one of my friends (Cindy) from my KSC years who lives near us in Ocala, Florida!

Do you ever notice things like this while traveling that remind you of home? I’m always noting the architecture of buildings, names, or numbers when we travel. I also note the synchronicities. To me, the synchronicities in life always (and in all ways) point us back to Omniscience God. And on that note, Happy Good Friday everyone! Enjoy the day!
