Borders, boundaries, and walls

Boundaries

Isn’t it interesting that as the author of The fences of religion, I’m now making a case for a border wall? I’ve turned the kaleidoscope to look at this subject in a multitude of ways. To every season, turn, turn, turn. Information has recently come my way in defense of a U.S. and Mexican border wall, and I know many of my readers may be surprised (even disheartened), as to my feelings on this hotly debated issue. But, as someone with skin in this (as my husband is one of the more than 800,000 furloughed workers–because 800,000 only counts the federal employees and my husband is a contractor), and much of NASA is closed down, I thought I should weigh in. I don’t have to go public with my opinion–so, grant me this before berating me, okay? I’ve written about some deep topics on this blog before, though nothing political. That’s because as a registered Independent, I don’t vote in either primary election. I was raised as a Republican, and changed to a Democrat in my 30s. Now, I’m pretty much fed up with the two major parties and lean towards the Green or Libertarian parties. We need to govern by the Constitution.

Wall of water

Remember the wall of water near the end of the movie, The Abyss?
Abyss wall of water
Abyss wall of water
That’s kind of how I see this southern border wall issue. In the movie, the aliens needed to remain in the water, but Ed Harris needed to breathe, so they parted the water forming a water wall, yet continue to communicate. In an upcoming article, I’ll tell you why I believe “the veil” is a temporary boundary.

Temporary

Walls are a temporary measure (all man made things are temporary), until hearts and minds change and there is no more need for “protection.”

Protection

Until the word, PROTECT, is removed from the dictionary, the constitution, oaths, etc. we need border security. We need to at least slow the flow of illegal immigrants from coming across the southern border. Besides, the democrats voted for the wall when Obama was president. They can vote for it now. I’m tired of the childish BS. And I’m really tired of the propaganda. The question really is one of protection. And anyone who’s read my blog, Take It Upon Yourself, knows how much I love to dig into the real questions. The deep questions. When we get to the mindset that “it really is all good” and that there is “value in Everything,” perhaps the emphasis will shift from protection to compassion and connection (which is what I inherently desire). This is why I’ve been silent on this issue–until now.

Under construction

I didn’t know until the other day that the Army Corp of Engineers is already building The WALL in sections, and replacing sections of old wall! So…this IS happening no matter what the Dems want.

Other walls

Israel has a wall. Israel says that wall is for border security. And from what I’ve read, Congress had no problem funding it (no problem continuing to send money to Israel though they have a wall). I don’t like what’s going on there either, but that’s another story and why I wouldn’t want to live there. Thank Omniscience I was born in THIS country. The great wall of China certainly served a purpose in its time.
Great wall of ChinaGreat wall of China

Division in Nature

Every living thing has walls and borders—including us. It’s called skin. Cells have walls. Organs have walls. Walls are necessary to control order and flow. If our blood vessels didn’t have walls, we wouldn’t live very long. So, it seems walls are needed to ensure things work. Though the walls of our body are porous. Size does matter. Division is necessary for a design to work, but when it comes to relationships, I value blending over segregation, as a rainbow offers us distinct colors, but without any hard edges or delineating lines between them. Holism and Oneness simply allows for ALL to work. One of the beautiful things about the Universe is how it organizes things, but I digress. I just don’t think walls are inherently bad, as there is value in Everything.

Applying logic

For some time now, I’ve been on the fence about this whole issue, because by nature, I’m a “don’t fence me in” girl (note the picture of my granddaughter at the mountain top park fence), with one of my favorite songs from the 1960s being, “Tear Down the Fences.” With my nature to explore, roam, etc. and be migratory (we are full-time RVers and I am of Native American heritage in part), I am all for having the freedom to move about. But, I can’t walk into someone else’s house uninvited. I can’t scale the wall of my favorite actors home without being shot. And I’m glad there are electric fences and armed guards around prisons. But, as I looked at the picture of Jennifer at the fence today, my AHA moment was that the fence protected her from falling over the edge (of the mountain).
Don’t fence me in
Don’t fence me in

Notes

Philosophically and spiritually, I agree with those who say that borders and walls separate. Obviously, right? I mean, I’m the one who writes that We Are All Connected. And for many years, I have said that you cannot legislate morality. I watched the Berlin wall be taken down (and had a chunk of it), and supported the fall of the wall at the time. However, hearts and minds have to change first. I am always seeking balance, and I am skeptical of much that is shared from the far Left and the far Right. Life’s short. Feel good. ❤️🦋☯️

Happy Metaphysical New Year

Happy New Year!

2019 looks to be starting off with a bang of metaphysical synchronicities. And I love it! Happy New Year to ALL! Hang on as it might be a bumpy ride, but I feel it’s gonna knock our socks off when certain revelations are revealed.
Happy New Year
Happy Metaphysical New Year
I’m excited for what this year’s going to bring. I’m content with Now, having learned to allow and flow as water over the rocks (obstacles) of life, laugh, love, focus more on what I enjoy (IN joy), and let go–really let go–of anything I can’t control (while understanding most is none of my business to try to control)!

Let’s do this.

Just BE. Breathe. Enjoy each moment. Move our body. Nourish ourselves. Laugh. Grow. Relax. And just be some more. It’s our time, Now.

New to my blog?

Omniscience always strengthens me.
I have made a powerful Free Will (Conscious CHOICE) to use my unwashed brain to study and seek alignment with my soul, which is always connected to Omniscience LIMITLESS Creator God, as I continue to live, move and have my BEing.
I write about how we can shift our thinking from past conditioning.
I write about how we can take responsibility for ourselves “to show thyself approved.”
You’ll find scriptures in my blog, yet that makes me no better than anyone.
I was taught not to cast my pearls before swine, yet how can I judge?
I write to a global audience with the awareness that my words will reach who they will, and if they encourage or ease one person’s suffering, that is enough for me.
Here’s a link to a long study on the Beatitudes that I wrote:
I now help others know how they they align in every moment with Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresence and live free from dogma.
Call it what you will. I call it the Truth that sets each FREE!
Thank you. Peace ✌️

P.S. I wrote the following 4 years ago, and it still applies: Perfect example of “Bloom where you are planted” huh?! So I will also say, “…even if you can only produce ONE beautiful bloom!” Happy New Year everyone. Just BE happy where you are!

My Conscious Calling

Soul Calling

I’ve shared this publicly before (on another website) back in 2008. But I found it again and thought I’d update it a bit to share here, on my personal site.

What is my Conscious Calling? Or, I could ask that another way. What is my Soul Calling?

What is my Soul Calling?
Soul Calling

To redefine and grow mySelf in all areas of my life, with grace and ease, while sharing my truth openly and freely with others. Hopefully, my words will assist others, and empower each to find, or redefine their own truth, open to new things, see the Universe as friendly, awaken to the unseen world around them, and love God and others, more deeply and profoundly.

What the Soul wants

We are all connected. And I honor this knowing by maintaining a Facebook group by that name, and a blog page about all the ways we are connected.

I continue to learn and share about the mind, spirit, soul, and body connections we share, especially as it comes to bringing clarity, focus, and vision into my life and those I directly connect with, living every moment acknowledging spirit, and eating more plant-based raw foods + superfoods to enable more vitality to the body I inhabit.

Right and left brain

I am a creative and technical computer systems professional, and I currently still enjoy the “play” of that. When I find it no longer amusing, it will leave my experience like a falling leaf from a tree.

BEing online

For many years, I’ve been a participant on many internet sites such as, LinkedIn, Plaxo, Twitter, MySpace, Pinterest, Instagram, Yelp, Amazon, Facebook (on and off), this particular blog site: TakeItUponYourself, Being Wholly Vibrant, and more! I previously wrote about natural and holistic information under the name of: Mind 2 Xdreamz, and I previously developed and maintained a marketing website called Design2Xdreamz because the unlimited potentiality of being online fascinated me!

Passion for health

My secret to healthy living?

  • Understanding that the body obeys mind and spirit,
  • Understanding that no one needs to suffer,
  • Acknowledging and accepting that everything happens for a reason,
  • Joyously allowing and relishing in even the smallest of synchronicities,
  • Eating a mostly raw food diet and getting enough sleep and exercise so that the body I inhabit (my temple) is healthy and able to do everything I have been purposed on this planet to do,
  • Just “Be”ing,
  • Praying for all those I meet whenever they come to mind, breathing in the breath of God while walking, breathing out the life breath to the plant world, Using Energy Medicine and essential oils daily,
  • Living in a state of gratitude and harmony BE-ing connected to all of you,
  • Loving my family: My aWEsOMe supportive husband (so glad he found me in 2001), two grown children (Marie and Matt), our super duper and sweetie pie granddaughters, as well as, all living beings–plants and animals–on this, and the other side of the veil,
  • Knowing and seeing with “real eyes” that I am more than what you or I see. I am not my name, face, or any physical attributes. Thank God!

Honoring our Connections

My two adult children, and now my three amazing granddaughters are definitely my heart, and thrill me to the core to know and be with them, as I know so much more now about how our ancestors continue to live on in the DNA and bloodline these babies carry on–every relative of theirs continues to live on, physically through these girls, and also to the children they may have in the future. It makes my heart so full to think about it!

Of course, one of the best decisions I ever made in my life was to say yes, when my wonderfully  gracious, intelligent, and loving husband, Richard, proposed to me. Back then I didn’t want to be in a relationship and didn’t even believe in marriage anymore, my how times have changed! Now, I officiate weddings (as a Florida Notary Public), and it’s one of the work/play things that makes my heart soar! I love the whole idea of marrying people, bringing love birds and like-minds together with our LIMITLESS, Ever-Living, Filling-All-Space, Creator Source God as witness. OM

We care for our family and my friends – we reach out but do not suffocate – we’re here when they need us.

On religious / spiritual matters

I believe the Holy Ghost/Spirit of God is available to all of us. I never understood how people could believe God spoke once but never spoke again.

I believe the Bible, as translated correctly, is the inspired Word of God. I’ve known people in my life who must believe God is dead though because they do not believe He ever inspired anyone to ever write any other books. The logic of which, always escaped me.

Omniscience

I believe God is LIVING OMNIPRESENCE.

I believe there are many books, songs, art works, and more that are inspired by God, but I also believe that even if we read, memorized, fully understood them all, we’d still only have a glimpse into the LIMITLESS reality of God.

Since age 8, I have been a member of the RLDS faith (later renamed Community of Christ), but though I am affiliated, I no longer attend any one particular church (organized religion) because when I am talking and sharing with others about God and matters of the Heart and Spirit, that’s where “church” is.

Matthew 18:20 says, “For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” That’s my church. That’s also when I feel what I call my, “God bumps”–yes, a very tangible tingling sensation in my body whenever I synch up with another on a deep or profound topic.

I believe we are each responsible for the care and feeding of our bodies in order to be in balance. We need to feed our mind and spirit, as well as our physical body. I have a lot of knowledge in the holistic and natural health area, but I’m always continuing to “do” what I know–integrating it all.

I believe our bodies can be healed by connecting with Spirit, acknowledging, and accepting the healing. If we fight, deny or resist, or in any way want to remain sick, we will. But to be ill in any way is not our purpose. We are called to be “whole.” Our purpose is to “be.” When I ask myself if these thoughts I have are true, yes, I believe they are absolutely true.

BEing Present

I challenge my thoughts everyday, so that I can weed out those thoughts that do not serve my (or others) best and highest purposes. I believe we all have the ability to “calm the waters” all around us, either by prayer, or action. We affect so much more than we know. And sometimes not throwing the pebble into the pond is the best action to take.

Be the person your Soul knows you are!

An Independent Soul on a Mission to Connect Heaven and Earth

Connecting Heaven and Earth

More and more each day, I am finding the truths embedded in the ancient Chinese wisdom that Lama Nicholas Packard shared with me recently. And that our health is directly attributed to our thoughts, beliefs, and actions.

Finding truths

If I want to be well and healthy, I must strike a balance between my true nature, which I can feel the soul-alignment of in my body when I need to make a choice about whatever is going on. Yes, I can justify and rationalize, or choose to push through obstacles, but in the end, it’s how I FEEL that must be my guide. Else, I will suffer. And I do not want to suffer.

At times, I’ve been startled and taken aback by my own reactivity to people’s actions (even those whom I admire / have admired) but also to whom, I FELT a negative reaction–so much so, that I had to break away. This has happened to me before, perhaps my whole life–but I didn’t fully understand until recently.

I am an independent person

I am such an independent person–who else would write a blog called, Take It Upon Yourself? I bet very few people. And it’s also few that I can work closely with for any long stretch of time. I yearn to feel the resonance of balance.

I am an independent soul on a mission to connect Heaven and Earth by building mutually joyful and healthy relationships. Said another way, I am here as a woman of independent nature, on a mission to connect and heal people. To do this, will require balance. If I can feel negative vibrations, then easily bring them into balance–okay. But if not, depending upon the strength of the negative vibrations, I will need to make a different choice. And I am able to do that happily with gratitude for all I have learned.

In Alignment

Assume for a moment that we’re birds of a feather. Both of us are interested in the same people, and read the same books, but if you believe in the concepts that we “can never get it wrong”, and “there is value in everything”, yet condescend or be critical of a small action (especially for something that goes against core beliefs of mine, such as of Transparency and Sharing), that is going to resonate with me as a distinct, NO. And I will move on and leave the group or partnership.

Examples of alignment

At this particular time, I work on a team with someone whom I agree and align with their knowledge and experience of nutrition, vitamins, and supplements. And while I have learned, and would love to learn more from this person, and I respect her to a point, she can’t seem to be responsible, show up to work, put in honest effort to the project, or contribute to the team. She’s just not a team player.

If I had my druthers and the autonomy to move the person to another team, I would–but I don’t. Unfortunately, if I have to work with this person, the ill feelings (that I allow the disharmony to bring), will make me sick. And I cannot give to others if I am sick. So, though it’s been three years, trust me, the end is near. (Eventually, I left, and a month later, that person was fired.)

I am a patient person, but when enough is enough–I’ll leave. It’s happened before with me, and it will happen again–until I connect with someone, or some team, where I can find and offer Balance.

Moving on

Suffering imbalance is one reason why people leave businesses, relationships, partnerships, and so on. We all must do what feels right, or suffer. I choose what feels right to me, what feels harmonious and loving. Because if I don’t, I’m fighting my true nature. And when we work with split energies, they can tear you apart.

In another example, let’s take the partnership that I accepted based on my ego of being needed and honored. One might think the partnership was a good thing, right? Yet, we mutually ended it–mostly because I allowed my ego to be offended.

Everyone has an ego, whether large or small. One with a large ego would be best served to learn how to communicate with their staff. If you’re a manager and can’t communicate properly, you should not be a manager. Period. A primary facet of Management IS communication.

Experientially learning all of this, I now realize that I will never be balanced, or feel successful in my mission to connect people, until I can find a team to work with who will allow me to bring out the best in them, for the good of the cause, and shine my eternal soul light.

Now, just what brought about all of this newfound enlightenment?

Meet Lama Nicholas Packard…

A few weeks ago, I had the profound JOY of receiving a one-on-one healing session with Lama Nicholas Packard–who has recently come to visit our conscious St Petersburg, Florida community after living in India and China for over 30 years!
I made the appointment with Lama Nicholas for holistic health career guidance, as well as some intermittent pain in the body.
I have been meditating daily since Oct. 2015, and observing my thoughts. I’ve been feeling that my current work is not in alignment with my soul’s purpose. One could also say that I’ve become disillusioned and apathetic.
I can no longer work for certain companies, and I’ve recently began expressing this fact to recruiters when they call me. I do not mince words. I do not align with companies who make, or even indirectly support companies who make products that injure people.
This stance puts me out of working for any company that creates man-made chemical products. If you are part of a company whose products harm people, do not call me. I have to draw the line in the sand.

I learned from Lama Nicholas that he believes Artificiality is killing us. And I agree. Obviously, there are natural things that can harm us also, but for us to go out of our way to develop things that harm–that’s insane.

Signs

Right from the beginning of our session, as we began talking, a little finch bird came near to me, hiding under the table next to me. Was it there to let me know it was safe to express what makes my heart sing?

Lama Nicholas first showed me my birth and life path based on a Chinese numerology system. My birthdate equals a 1, which makes me an independent type. And oh my, can I affirm this is true! Looking back over my life, I can see that as a sure pattern in me, as well as the fact that I write this blog. I don’t always need to be right, but I need to be heard!

Life path

I learned that my life path is a number 2. That means I seek Connection. And that building relationships, even so far as connecting Heaven to Earth, is my mission and purpose! Is it any wonder that I was given the message, “We Are All Connected” many years ago?

And yes, sometimes to build, one must know when to disconnect. Pruning a bush allows for more growth. So again, I am to seek balance in this quest as I move forward.

More signs

A beautifully tall, white egret walked up to us; it actually seemed to look me in the eye for a moment! The egret brought me comfort in this new experience and reminded me that I was still grounded to nature–though we were in the city, we were only a couple of blocks from the Gulf of Mexico. I also took this to mean that my meeting with Lama Nicholas would open me to even deeper knowledge of myself.

The challenge

Do you sense the dichotomy though? A strong willed independent woman, who must connect with others to build relationships and usher Heaven to Earth? Wow!!!! I will need help!
The funny thing is, I’ve never been good at asking for help!
Only since my daughter gave birth to my granddaughter, have I learned along with her–to verbally ask for “a little help, please“–as it’s just not something that seems natural to me to do!
As for the Chinese animal that my birth year aligns to, I am on the cusp of the pig, and the tiger. The negative side of the pig means that I would feel a lot of fear (which I don’t), and the tiger signifies frustration. Bingo! I am very frustrated currently. Unfortunately, 30, 40, or 50 years of frustration can lead to Cancer!
Yet, the positive side of the tiger is that I am unstoppable! Yay!

A healer

Lama Nicholas told me that I also have a master number of 11, which means I am a healer. In addition:
  • I am called to a BIG mission
  • I can use the tigers’ determination + my independent spirit to bridge communities (spiritual communities perhaps?)
  • I will joyously work to connect Heaven to Earth
  • To facilitate teamwork by cooperation and balance, not to “win” as an entrepreneur
As to why I feel so much frustration at work: I need structure and am committed to working in a dynamic team–and one person on our team is arrogantly independent and adamantly refuses to work on our team, or even show up to work during core hours!
I now realize that I seek to assist others in their own healing journey as my life’s mission. And that using my hands to write, and heal others, will be key to my purpose.

The healing

After Lama Nicholas and I finished our conversation about life mission and purpose, we moved to two chairs facing each other for the physical healing part of the session to occur. I will add here though, that I really think the healing work began in and through me days before our actual meeting.
Since I had complained of an errant pain on the left side of my body, Lama Nicholas picked up and held my left leg and foot and pressed (not pinched or squeezed) but pressed with his fingers on the side of the fourth toe. I writhed in my chair with every muscle in my body tensing! It was very painful for a few seconds, but it eased quickly. I felt lightheaded and began to breathe deeply. Lama Nicholas gave me a cup of water and talked about what had happened so my mind could grasp it.
The toes are end points of meridians. And the fourth toe is the end point of the gallbladder meridian. Now, I didn’t know that I was having any gallbladder issues, but Lama did!! Note: my grandfather died of gallbladder cancer.
Next, we moved to the little toe! It hurt too, but not as bad, though my face was wincing and I was still tensing as if struggling to get away. The little toe is the end of the kidney meridian. I feel that I don’t have to explain to you what the meridians are. If you don’t know, you can Google that.
Looking back on the experience, I was surprised that I didn’t cry, cuss, scream, or such. Just tensed up and had a strong desire to pull away. To me, this also seems indicative of how I’ve reacted to other painful events in my past. A sort of quiet inward suffering, though usually with tears. I have never been a fighter or aggressive type.

Qi

One of the biggest things Lama Nicholas taught me how to do was how to bring in and cultivate Qi in the body.
Lama showed me the proper way to hold my hands together over my belly button (Dantian) while breathing deeply through the nose–holding my inhale to a count of 3 or 5 with my belly pushing outward and into my hands. Then, exhaling and pulling my belly button in towards my spine as far as I could manage and holding the exhalation to a count of 3 or 5.
Lama told me to visualize the in breath, as if it were coming into my belly, and the exhale coming out of my hands! Eventually, I made a big circle with my hands to push the Qi down on the exhale. Just this lesson alone was amazing!
Lama worked on my left arm and showed me how working the lung meridian made my tears flow–I had no idea why I began crying as he pressed points on my arm on one side, then conversely I laughed as he pressed the heart meridian points on the other side of the arm!
Feeling fantastic after the experience is an understatement. I kept saying, “Wow, Wow, Wow” after we completed the session. Amazing!

Resonance

Though I am primarily an analytical thinker, you might like to know how I feel about this healing experience from my heart (or emotional intelligence).
Intuitively, I fully resonated with the information that came from Lama Nicholas and the numerology of why I was born into this lifetime, and why–up to this point–life has seemed to be a struggle.

Energy

Energetically, I felt motivated and driven to succeed in the living of my unique purpose to build new relationships, and strengthen the relationships with those already in my life. To move from the sidelines and out onto the playing field of life, to use a sports analogy.

Insights

New insights have come, such as the knowing that writing does fulfill my purpose, but so does art, working with clay, applying essential oils to people’s hands and feet, and so forth.

Words of my mother

My mother always called me her “miracle baby” because I was the only one that lived out of six pregnancies. I believe her now because through me, all of my mom’s six babies are on the planet. Had any of my choices, or those of my daughter been any different that might not have been so. Gratefully, all things work in harmony and order in this Universe. I see that now.

Takeaways

This healing experience affected me mentally, by charging me up and giving me a zest for life, spiritually, by connecting me to the Divine and knowing Qi connects us all, and physically, by moving stagnant energies in my body and propelling me to learn more about Qigong, perhaps even one day teach, Qigong/Tai Chi!
I now know my purpose is to connect people and bring or connect heaven to earth. I chose a big mission, before my birth, for this lifetime and with tiger’s determination, I know I can do it.
I know that I was not born to be an entrepreneur, because of my #2 life path, which means I seek balance. I need a partner who is a #2. I know how to make money, be an excellent partner, and develop enthusiastic teams, so I am ready!
My morning and nighttime routines now include Qigong. I have been doing the deep breathing before sleep each night, just as Lama suggested. I am experiencing a dramatic shift in my thinking each day and noticing that habits are changing.
Intuitively, I took a picture of myself before the healing session, and I just took one this morning. I look much happier!

Life changed

I know my life has dramatically been altered by meeting Lama Nicholas. I feel more energy, look and feel happier, and I am emphatically motivated to move into my life’s purpose without fear or hesitancy. And as before, I will be as water, always seeking balance–but now I understand why.
Another output from my healing session with Lama Nicholas was that I signed up to become certified at reflexology, something that a friend had suggested I try (years ago), but only now makes perfect sense to do!
Stay tuned for my next article about Qigong. You see, after taking my first two Qigong/Tai Chi classes with Grand Master Lama Nicholas, I signed up for more and believe that Qigong will become a daily practice for the rest of my life.
Be the person your Soul knows you are.
Blessings to you in ALL ways,
OM

Be as the blade of grass, grow through the dirt.

I’ve heard it said, “you’re either growing or dying” and that, “the universe is either expanding or shrinking.” If that is true, then it seems to acknowledge that everything in life, all there is around us, is dynamic – nothing is static.

In a previous post, I wrote that, “We grow as blades of grass, up through the earth.” And that “dirt, or earth, is analogous to all of the resistance we encounter.” Perhaps resistance is “sin”?

These thoughts were instigated years ago, when a coworker encouraged me with the phrase, “Bloom where you are planted.” Oh how right she was!

At that time, I felt constant irritation from a superior when he would casually walk by my desk and tell me to smile–while I was working!

Being the studious and serious type, smiling while concentrating on work tasks was something I just didn’t do. The more he admonished me to smile, the more aggravated I became.

In passing, I must have mentioned my exasperation to my friend, when she lavished me with that golden nugget of truth–about the blooming. I even remember thinking of a response to her–“yes, no matter how much fertilizer is put upon you!” (but I didn’t tell her).

Day in and day out, I would notice people around me laughing, chatting, and cutting up during the day, but I wasn’t.

I am an empath. I am a highly sensitive person (HSP). I feel lots of things very strongly.

I have discovered that I become resentful when things aren’t fair or balanced.

While working in an office, I recall thinking, “we’re here to work” and “we’re here to earn our pay.”

Why was I always the one to feel so determined! I was always applying effort. The pitfalls of continually wanting to do my best, try hard, people-please, and succeed, yada, yada. But at what cost to my Self?

Realizing I was wallowing in resistance, I knew I had to climb out of it, or it would bury me. A seed pushes against dirt in order to grow, but I felt as though I was pushing against me, not growing, but receding! Plants, indeed everything in the living kingdom need the resistance in order to grow, and grow strong.

One day, I learned what hell meant.

Out in the garden we can hell for potatoes, as in “we’re sweating out here helling for potatoes.” Hell is just “the ground”, or “the dirt.” It never was meant to be some fearful place of oppression or torment.

So, my thoughts of “this is hell” was the only thing that kept me disturbed. And I lacked the knowledge, at the time, of how to climb up out of the grave (of the frustrating job) up the slippery walls of resistance and into freedom.

Eventually, as other factors contributed, I left the job.

Years later, during a time of fasting, those years of struggle came to mind, but with softness and thanksgiving, the resentment fading. Not only had I learned more about myself, but as a body builder strengthens muscles from lifting weights, I had grown emotional muscles! I was “blooming” from what I had perceived of previously as resistance!

I distinctly remembered the day I had begun saying to myself (about my boss), “Thank you for helping me to make a better decision”–whenever I’d felt picked on or taken advantage of (to do more work). I couldn’t change whether or not I was picked on, but I could have changed my reaction to it! And it had always been my choice–whether I was willing or able to know it then or not–as to how much work I was willing to take on.

All the feelings I’d felt were solely based on my perception and may not have been entirely accurate, as one can never really see things from ALL sides anyway.

Looking back, I saw where I had resisted quite a few things during that time, which is probably why I felt harried and stressed.

Oh, had I just learned to “go with the flow” sooner, I could have smiled and experienced joy.

I’ve learned, we didn’t come into this life for the struggle. Life will go on without us after we’re gone. Whether we leave a company, end a marriage, or die. Nothing’s static, everything changes.

Now? I’m learning to let go and breathe. Get more play into each day. My former superior might be happy to know that once in awhile, even if I’m troubleshooting something, I smile and “IN Joy” the action of whatever it is I’m attempting to do. I wish for you the same.

See ya on the flip-side, dynamic good buddy.

Life’s a thrill, hang on and enjoy the ride!
