It’s January 6th, 2024; Things typically come in threes for me. First, my son-in-law’s Bengal kitty of 19 years passed, then my son had something going on in his hand/arm and thought it was a small stroke, now we hear it is degeneration in his neck; last night our brother-in-law had to go to a hospital for a-fib (he’s now out of the hospital, thank God).

As for the music today, I woke up thinking about how I challenge the status quo while living warm and comfortable in our one-bedroom ‘suburban luxury’ apartment. I know we have it better than many and I do NOT take any of this for granted. Yes, I went to school (for YEARS), and had student loans too, but I always worked one, two, or three jobs and this past year, paid off my loans early and thanks to a little hint from my uncle, and us choosing to sell our car, we paid off the only credit card we had so we’re out of debt. I can tell you, that my life has not been easy, but there have been these constants that have helped me ‘rise above’ ALL challenges.

Constants

I have always had a strong belief in myself and in God. My views have changed over the years about God though, as written previously, and I still meditate, read voraciously on ALL things spiritual, and meet in book clubs with others to expand my faith and consciousness. Now, there are few whom I can’t talk with about God because of the expansion in me that has taken place.

I’ve always been strong-willed. I’ve never denied the power of God within me. I am a huge believer in self-help, self-growth, personal responsibility, and taking back our individual power (if we have ever mistakenly given it over to others). Self-sovereignty is another way to say it. No Ego, but an emptying of that sense of Self and allowing Spirit to pull me along, which is where my integrity comes from versus following a set of rules, which may have been mistranslated or skewed by others to suit their agendas.

I’ve always questioned authority (those who think they have power and control over) and stood for FREEDOM. I have never expected anything to be given to me.

Music

Here’s the sixth new music post for 2024 as I consistently present you with our originals (written by my extremely talented husband, Richard–music and lyrics). And strive for consistency by setting up self-challenges, such as writing these music blog articles every day.

I’m secretly hoping some radio stations play these radio-ready tunes–as I grew up on radio! As a youngster, I couldn’t afford to buy many records, but I did make mix tapes for myself off the radio when I got my first cassette recorder! Ha! Filmmakers, podcasters, and such are also invited and encouraged to use our original songs in movies, TV shows, video intros, and more. I’m sharing the songs on Tumblr (automatic feed from WordPress), Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, Alignable, and now, Truth Social (in that order).
