Speaking of the bedroom
You don’t have to, but if you have any issues falling asleep or sleeping all night, I’ve got a few tips for you. Try going outside in the morning, sans eyeglasses, and looking at the sun within 90 minutes of sunrise. And put a salt lamp or red light in your bedroom and tape over any little blue lights from fans, air conditioners, radios, or such so you cut all the blue light–if possible wear blue blocker eyeglasses after sunset too, when watching television or looking at your phone, tablet, or computer. It will help improve your sleep quality. Trust me. Once you’ve made these changes, if you’d still like to boost your sleep, try the REM Super Patch from me! It’s almost like watching the true version of The Good Wife, when I see her in court. Love her! And what do you know, our new Integrative medical doctor here in New Hampshire went to the same University as her (when they were in pre med), and has followed her for years! Our new MD also follows Dr. Bruce Lipton and will meet him at a conference in Indiana this September! ALL things work for good it seems–yes, really!

Here’s the two-hundred-seventh new music post for 2024, as I consistently share one of our pro demo original songs each day this year. I recognize the chord progressions and melody from another song of Richard’s, much like we always recognize a James Horner theme song from the movies, Avatar, Enemy at the Gates, Project X, and probably several others–anyone else know the 4 step horn progression I’m talking about here? It’s iconic in theme music in our opinion. We can usually always find it in a James Horner score! Does reusing a progression or melody make us trust the composer more? It’s a way to develop and build on a signature sound isn’t it?
Do you trust me?
You don’t have to, but maybe it helps if you do–if you’re going to take a chance and buy something I’m putting in front of you. Of course, I believe the Biology of YOUR Belief is what matters most. I sooo agree with Dr. Bruce Lipton on that. And once you do believe in yourself, I feel most of your self imposed limitations will drop away!
I believe we can decide for ourselves as we grow and mature. And if we make mistakes, especially if we break manmade laws, we should be punished. Even if we’re not caught, we suffer guilt, and why do we feel that way? If we’re taught (or programmed) in one way or another, I think it’s human nature to sense guilt.

Deeply held beliefs
Here’s the two-hundred-sixth new music post for 2024, as I continually present new ideas, prolific lyrics, and new sounds (via our original songs) every day this year. Richard said this was based on true experiences of his. And my mom slapped me once for making fun of a song on the radio (while she was driving) because she deeply loved the song! I never made fun of any other song in my life! (Mom never slapped me in the face again either.) I was shocked and embarrassed and never forgot it, though I did not judge her. I just learned from a very early age that when people deeply believe something it’s best not to argue with them. Now, can we learn about law and order from the Bible?
Who gets to decide?
We’ve been watching The Good Wife series (and are about halfway through Season 6 currently), and it’s all about the law and punishment. Should people be punished for breaking the law? Who decides? I often say I don’t judge people, but we still have judges. And I’ve seen the effects of ‘no rules’ on people I’ve worked with over the years who claim they had no rules in their home when they were growing up. Though intelligent and good at what they did, I was not impressed with their behavior (one was arrested for shoplifting and later fired)!

I’m glad I no longer need to be spanked to walk uprightly with a sense of compassion and purpose. I’m grateful for the corrections I received from both of my parents, but I don’t think corporal punishment is the answer. I wasn’t spanked too many times in my childhood because I was overly sensitive and would feel guilt strongly even when I wasn’t at fault! I also disliked embarrassment and would never do anything wrong at school because I feared being sent to the principal for a whipping. I think small corrections over time, or allowing the natural ’cause and effect’ to work its way out for people is the better way to course correct them. Then again, there are exceptions to every rule.

Kentucky and Scotland
Yes, when we are in Kentucky, we drink Bourbon whisky and when we were in Scotland, we sample the Scotch whisky. Richard is originally from Kentucky, so there’s that. I know some people who can’t stand the taste, others, like us, have developed a palate for such things. Don’t order Scotch in Ireland! Haha!
Richard and I loved the haggis while we were in Scotland in 2019. I had heard people love it or hate it. I don’t know why it isn’t served elsewhere, but if you ask us, it’s one of the reasons to visit Scotland! Well, that, along with the Scotch whisky. Haha!

California – the crunchy state
Yes, our original song, Sunset, is supposed to be funny. It’s tongue-in-cheek for sure. Hence, what a great song about California. I’ve always been told California was the home of crunchy moms (full of fruit and nuts). True story: When I started talking about God and Spirituality at work a few years ago, a coworker called me a ‘crunchy mom.’ (Thanks Scott!)
We watched an old movie, Sideways, late last night. It’s a relationship movie (not quite a romantic comedy) set in California and includes some beautiful scenery. The film shows a lot about the wine-making (and wine-tasting) process. My daughter and son-in-law loved it–laughing uproariously to several scenes! The movie stars Paul Giamatti, Thomas Hayden Church, Virginia Madsen, and Sandra Oh. If you’ve never seen it, you are missing a true classic! I kid California,that it’s never been a state where I wanted to live, but I give them a bit of credit, for making some great entertaining films and for their wine country. Is there anything else I’m missing? Do you like California?

Muse
Here’s the two-hundredth new music post for 2024, as I consistently uncover ways to feel better and enjoy (IN Joy) life–while we’re living! I was Richard’s muse for this song as I went into a stream-of-consciousness (SoC) rant about how when I die to this earthly plane, elements of me (my body) will come back up and through the roots and hedges to nurture and feed future generations. It’s the perfect follow-up to yesterday’s post (where I talked about the passing of three celebrities).
Creation and Destruction
‘Be careful what you wish for‘ applies here. I have long said, “You can create and destroy with the same stick.” It seems reasonable and logical that you can hold a stick in your hand and use it as a magic wand to create something, as well as use it to crush something. Notice, with that one stick in your hand, when you shake one end of it, the other end shakes as well–in the opposing direction.
We watched an old movie last night with the kids. My daughter and I both cried during Project X, starring Matthew Broderick and Helen Hunt. I think inherent in our human nature we know we’re a living being, part of the greater ALL of living things. We feel it when any other thing is hurt or killed, so even when we watch a movie that we know is fake (whether based on a true story or not, the movie is simply a portrayal of the original events).
Grateful for life

July 17th – Sad genius
It’s July 17th, 2024; We have an original upbeat rock song for you today about intelligent people. I feel it’s one of the best self-reflective songs my dear husband has ever written! Bubba Hudson adds his strong vocals to this high-energy song. And I needed this today. Steven Cooper of Nashville, TN crafted this radio-ready, pro demo to lift our spirits.
Watching society beg, borrow, and steal–(and cross over)
Here’s the one-hundred-ninety-ninth new music post for 2024, as I consistently unravel mysteries and encourage you to tap your toe, get moving, and feel better. Even when I go a bit dark, or as my husband says, “get too morbid,” I still try to focus on the good and lighter side of life. (I’ve been in a funk since reading about some celebrity passings.)
Nod to Richard Simmons (and condolences to his family and friends), who passed away the other day (I used to love his Sweatin’ to the Oldies tape)! I was up late the other night reading about his life. I am always dismayed when people who exercise and eat right die! UGH
Shannen Doherty (who was nine years younger than me!) also passed away the other day–shocking! My children (when they were teens) and I were big fans of 90210 and later of Charmed. I am still baffled why people with money (think Steve Jobs) die of cancer in this day and age.
Dr. Ruth also crossed over to the Other Side–I was a big fan of hers! I’m glad she lived a good long life though! Dr. Ruth nearly made it to 100! I guess good humor and sex is helpful to longevity.
Tear it all down
I feel these days the ‘Left’ wants to tear it all down so the ‘Right’ can rebuild it! Or perhaps it’s the other way around with too much Capitalism, Corporatocracy, Good-old-boys club, etc. As soon as I think I have figured things out, I don’t think I know anything!
We watched the last two episodes of The Acolyte last night (we don’t have the Disney channel but our daughter and son-in-law do). Our son-in-law has followed Star Wars forever and understands all plots and characters even better than Richard and I do–but I must say Richard nor I were very happy with the first few episodes (too WOKE for us). But I am so glad we stuck it out until the end. I think the writers did a good job of circling back around to explain a lot of things. We’ll see if Disney puts out another season of this though, because the fans have been not too happy with it (of the YouTube and blog posts I’ve seen up to this point).
Circling back
Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. I always say the truth lies somewhere between, and that there are multiple sides to every story (which is why I use the mirror ball and kaleidoscope in my Integrating the Spirals sessions), to teach about forgiveness and understanding. I am always happy when I see circular stories, or movies such as Sliding Doors and Interstellar that offer us insights into why people do the things they do, their intentions and motivations included if possible. The Good Wife is another episodic TV show that we never saw when it originally aired, though we had friends who raved about it. We’re hooked on it now (in syndication).
