Observations: Virtual versus Real Life Friends

Is it possible to have REAL friends whom you can say, NO to (as in attending various events) and not have them read sh*t into it or have suspicions about my motives? Jesus!

No wonder so many of us prefer to work from home, blog, and have virtual relationships. I’m about over this deal to have in-person friendships. Truly!

I have a LOT going on! And I don’t need this drama. The person I am writing this about is NOT on Facebook either, so I suppose this is my rant. Take it (or not) for what it’s worth.

As my sister-in-law says, “Don’t let them steal your joy” and I won’t. They have shown their true colors and I’m done. Though, I am done after they tell me they are done. Whatever. I’m not selfish. And I do care about people but for the love of God, I don’t know why.


As a reminder, I work full-time M-F from 8 am to 5 pm. I jump on here (Facebook or other social media) only moments at a time a couple of times a day because I am good at juggling my tasks. This in no way means I have time for calls or texts throughout the day, but because I value my friends I take them sometimes when I’m not busy with work.

On top of that, I am new to caregiving for my husband (after his stroke last October). I cook way more than I used to and wash the dishes, etc. I blog and am working on getting a second edition out of my book, Take It Upon Yourself to Live a Wholly Vibrant Life. I’m still marketing our original songs and my other book, Blue Eyes: Ethereal Messages of Connection (and STILL people who I gave the book to – I’ve been following up with for their help sharing about it or writing reviews, etc. and I am not complaining about that). I have children and grandchildren whom I talk/video/text with whenever they have time for me as I LOVE THEM. I continue my Reiki studies as that is important to my mental well-being, self-care, soul growth, etc., and meet with our group every Tuesday evening. I offer distance Reiki as a public service when someone has a need and asks for directed healing–as of yet, I have not charged a fee for that. I have a volunteer job that I love also which takes a few hours a week (writing email correspondence for Dr. Raymond Moody). I participate in a monthly call for two hours with Dr. Bruce Lipton. I do our taxes online and have that upon me to do now. I still have another property in WV to sell that a realtor I found a year ago still has not had time to take care of so now, I have to find another one. I have plants to care for that I love as they help me ground. Somehow I still carve out time to do my Asian squats, Yoga/Qigong Integrating the Spirals F-L-O-W daily, and brush my teeth. I still don’t shower daily or comb my hair, which is why I put it up on the top of my head with a butterfly clip. Just being honest.

If all of this doesn’t give you a sense of my time commitments then I have nothing else to say except–Peace. Blessings.

Be open to receiving many blessings and always is my prayer for you every moment. Spirit sees ALL timelines, interactions, and interweaving lines. We will know too when we are on the Other Side.

Sometimes things work out

Sometimes things DO work out.

And then sometimes we see loneliness isn’t real, it’s just our perception.

Sometimes we learn we can change our perception.

Sometimes we see these feelings were how we saw the situation not how the others saw it at all.

Sometimes we learn we made ourselves feel those hurt feelings.

Sometimes we find out it is good for us to detach.

Sometimes we find out how resilient we really are.

Sometimes it takes a while. Days, weeks, months, or years. But life rebalances. Life is always balancing. Give Time time.

Internet – The Beast

Let me talk this through for a minute.

Think about the word convergence. And think about big tech and think about what search engines do.

What search engines do is try to solve a problem for whoever searching. So there are 8 billion people on the planet. Maybe half of them are using the internet. So there are 4 billion people asking questions, and you know how you don’t know what you don’t know. Or you often don’t even know what question to ask.

So 4 billion people are asking 4 billion questions on a variety of search engines every day and what’s going on in the background is, that being owned by Microsoft Bill Gates, they’re collecting all of these questions. So servers, computer servers around the world are storing all of this information. As far as the question, you may or may not ever find an answer to your question, but the point is, it’s collecting the questions and it’s collecting them asked in 4 billion different ways, on however many unlimited amounts of topics.

So, in the background, this AI beast if you will, is created by Elon Musk, and Bill Gates, no surprise that they’re the richest men in the world because they got ahead of the curve and understood that the way to control the world and or well with the control comes making money, is to figure out what questions the world has to answer and then they could work on the answer. Or in their case, they built the answer, which was the mechanism involved to collect all of the questions.

The big issue now is that you have people that are white labeling, if you will, say Bing, so I use Ecosia as a search engine because for me, it helps me feel a little bit better about my day. As I’m using the internet search engine to search for to plug my question in and obtain an answer–hopefully.

I’m using Ecosia because it’s a feel-good thing. They’re taking some of their profits and they’re parlaying that money to other organizations that plant trees, it results in planting trees and I don’t have to plant the tree or even spend any money. I’m just searching the internet.

But what am I giving?

I’m giving my intellectual property utilizing performing the search. Just like we give our used clothing and use the items in our house to Goodwill. And then goodwill just organizes them. Maybe they do some cleaning or something I don’t know. Or maybe they test them to see if things work before they either put them out for sale or trash them. I don’t know what their internal processes are. But they do something they handle the gifts that you give them for free and turn them into a resource that they then sell. So they have a tangible property that they turn around and sell well.

So the mechanism or what’s in play with the search engines is that they’re selling ads targeted to your desires, wants, needs, whatever it is you’re asking about. So as you are interested in building a tiny house you’re going to start seeing Tiny House ads as you’re interested in buying an RV or renting an apartment, you’re going to see ads for those that generate revenue. That’s how they make their money.

So the questions that you ask go into this self-fulfilling prophecy, I started to say perpetual motion of machination is machinery in the background that then calculates and then they have programmers that write algorithms to turn that around and feed that back out to you as ads.

Now, on the one hand, one can argue that big tech is offering convenience and you don’t have to use it. And on the other hand, you can see it as the ‘end times beast.’

How do we build a better mousetrap? And yes, I understand the implications that bring the word trap, right in the mousetrap, right, who’s the mouse? We are.

Are we enslaving humanity throughout this process and are we giving our power over by giving the search engines our free intellectual property?

I’ve always been all for that because I’m a blogger and a writer and I put my thoughts innermost thoughts out there and even met my husband, the love of my life, my third husband on the internet. So, you know, I’ve worked in tech for over 35 years and while I’ve probably guessed at the downside, I’m seeing it more and more now. Because after 2018 people were into natural, holistic health remedies, nutrition, alternative and functional and integrative medicine, and even spirituality. A lot of these providers and service people have products and services for sale, their voices were squelched in 2018. Way before the health pandemic occurred. So something’s going on. And the smaller companies are being bought up by the larger ones.

When we have no words: Sit with it

Listen, sometimes we don’t have the words. The words just aren’t IN us to express our innermost feelings. And as I drive to the post office to mail my lovely and dear three young granddaughters their copy of Blue Eyes: Ethereal Messages of Connection, I’ve signed and written a little sentence or mantra in each one (Thank Omniscience God) to always find joy. (I’m sooo thankful for getting this book done and for my family).

I’m crying. And I am in a stupor. I’m stupefied. Why am I crying? And then I sit here for a moment. And I realize I can’t put this sadness into words except to say, sit with it. Sit with it, Sheila, and see what you can milk out of this experience. Oh, I wish I could be there! I would love to see your faces when you open the package and Mommy sits you down and says, “Now girls–because the twins are five–these are big books; these are books for you to keep for your whole life from your Grammy; these are books you will probably cherish and adore.” (Speaking about myself in third person) Even though Grammy meditates as a Buddhist now and doesn’t want you to attach or cherish anything–of course she’s attached to you, cherishes and adores you!

We live so far away (emotions). And I ask myself, what’s stopping us from being together? In many cases, it’s because right now it is winter. It’s cold (up north) and sometimes the weather is too bad to travel. So the weather limits humans. Yes, often the weather is limiting. (sniff! emotions!) And that’s okay.

Grammy has always wanted to live in Florida! Grammy prefers the sunshine, the palm trees, and the salty air of Florida. And the older Grammy gets (speaking in the third person), the more I miss a little bit of hill country. So that’s why I’m looking forward to moving to the Ocala area somewhere in the north-central area of Florida where there are hills, but I don’t miss the mountains, not as your mommy (my daughter) did for many years. Your mommy didn’t really like Florida because she missed the mountains, but now you’re in New England. There are mountains and lots of beautiful fall foliage to look at in wonderment. And that’s a beautiful thing.

We hope that unseen viruses and silly government policies and regulations don’t prohibit our visiting. We hope our health stays good too, so we can drive to visit this spring. We love you so much, your grandpa (grampy) and me, all three of you girls! Oh, and mommy to my beautiful daughter. So yes, in the book, beautiful daughter is chapter four. And I do talk about and mention my lovely granddaughters.

So I dedicate this blog post and all my thoughts about missing you yet, being close to you in spirit. I dedicate these thoughts to these words that say eventually did come. I dedicate these words to the loves of my heart. Thank you. Thank you ALL. Much love and many blessings. May these words bring you peace, ease, and comfort, and may you find joy in everything. In ALL ways, always.

Happy New Year 2023!

I sit in amazement at how this blog has grown over the last twelve years or so! To think about when I first started blogging (before it was called that) and then publicly on The Examiner (the one that eventually sold), I am humbled yet proud of my growth. I’m not a prideful person though and rarely use that word because I know ‘pride’ comes before a fall. And I’ve stumbled enough! Ha! Though, yes, I know falling shows we are trying, we are moving forward. Babies fall before they learn to walk for example.

The new book, Blue Eyes: Ethereal Messages of Connection has launched!

My new book, Blue Eyes, has passed the Amazon review process and is now LIVE (available in paperback as of 11 pm ET last night)! It was incredibly exciting to receive the email notice just before midnight last night and ring in the new year knowing the work was complete! Ha!

The book had to be put on hold for a couple of months because of my husband’s stroke and all the new caregiver tasks and responsibilities of mine (plus I still work full-time too). Thus, I took a week off work—to get the book done—between Christmas and New Years.

Many synchronicities abound and show us God’s grace! We are humbly blessed at every turn, that my husband can walk unassisted (he’s getting a bit better every day), is talking better (clearer, but still with less volume than normal), able to do a little work on the computer (like designing the cover for the book), and re-learning guitar (on a new Spanish acoustic that has a neck that fits in his hand better)!

I’m so excited to release this book out into the world! This past week has really been a birthing labor process to be sure! I knew it might take me a few days, but I had no idea! I used Kindle Create to prepare both the Kindle version of the book and the paperback, and each has their own set of distinct requirements! I see why many authors pay someone else to do this process! Ha!

Every time my husband and I would get frustrated over making yet another change to correct something, I would breathe and remind him to breathe, and I would say aloud, “I am a Technical Writer so I can do this or can figure this out.” Haha! I guess that helped as we’re still here and with hair on our heads too! Didn’t pull it out. (Wink!)

You’re always so busy busy busy

From my Facebook post today:

My commentary: A deep ACIM calendar quote for the day…  “This holy instant would I give to you…” and as a friend has commented, it is the same message each day until the end of the year, so I really don’t need to post the image again and again. But alas, here it is. 

I’m coming out of the funk I was in yesterday. I know people are busy. My dad used to tell me that every time he called. He would say, you’re “busy, busy, busy.” and you know what? because I was busy, I have many voicemail messages from him so I can always replay and hear his voice. Problem is, I don’t do that very often.

Why?

Because I am still, busy, busy, busy.

But I’m one person. I’d love for many to read this book I’ve poured hours, days, and weeks into. But of the 30 early readers, three actually read any of it. I’m grateful for those three. They know who they are. I would have opened it up to be read for free to many more had I known those thirty wouldn’t have had time. Some of my closest friends were honest from the get-go and told me they didn’t have time.

Now, I’m not saying all this to put guilt upon anyone, but to tell you, you can have hundreds of likes, loves, and comments on your posts and those will convert to ONE sale. It’s happened to me (with the last book). So, I do ALL of this writing, from my heart to those hearts who will listen. I do what I do, for the few. 

And FYI, though my dad’s words to me about how busy I always was will haunt me, he evened it up by also always telling me, “love you, love you, love you” at the end of each phone conversation or voicemail. So there’s that.

Omniscience God knows.

And so it is…

  • Ills are like rain on dirt. Rain washes away dirt so gems can be more easily mined!
  • Recognizing our individuality and uniqueness, yet all the while like sticky snowflakes, We Are All Connected.
  • A growing world is merging = EMERGING!
  • Acknowledging our inner alchemy.
  • Turning on Reiki Light.
  • Always turning to balance while Integrating the Spiral.
  • Choosing to make food and TIME work FOR us.
  • Thanking ALL for Grace, no matter how things look.
  • Prayer works!
  • OM-ing works! OM. AUM.
  • TRUST is huge!
  • Asking for help helps too!
  • Managing our Energy IS self-care.
  • Not burying head in the sand. (Pay attention to our health!)
  • Observing and documenting.
  • Involved but not entangled (with external happenings).
  • Amplifying and supporting ALL voices in commUNITY.
  • Accepting and surrendering what we cannot change but not quitting, burying heads in the sand, or laying down.
  • Freeing and beautifying. 
  • Raising vibrations.
  • Simplifying complex topics.
  • Aligning with SOUL to walk a purposeful path.
  • Each of us has God INSIDE us. Always in ALL ways reMember.
  • Every. Moment. Gratitude. 
  • Know who you are. Then, Blend. 
  • “Be Here Now” and Be Kind to ourselves/others.
  • Grow through the “not always pleasant” dirt. Yet, ALL for growth. (I see you.)
  • We Are All Connected.

By grace we ARE.

It’s ALL in God’s hands. 

Everything Resolves to Gratitude.

Why am I here?

I’m here to challenge you to dig deeper. Honor your past. Honor your ancestors. You are not here by accident. You didn’t pop out of a pod. A woman gave birth to you. And a woman gave birth to her. And so on, and so on. And a man was involved in some way too. The two became one. YOU!

ALL of your ancestors who came before, honor YOU! You stand on their great shoulders. Do you accept the responsibility of their sacrifices? Of their LOVE?

Balance is achievable though not always the point. Remember a wavy line separates the black from the white in the yin and yang symbol. It’s wavy because it’s always Balancing. Flowing. Never done.

Life endures. And continues.

We’re all pink!

Underneath our skin, we are all pink! Our blood is blue until exposed to oxygen and then, it’s red!

We Are ALL Connected. Each of us matter. I will own my choices. ❤️🦋🌀〰️
