Share a story about the furthest you’ve ever traveled from home.
The furthest I have ever traveled from home was probably when my husband, Richard, and I went to Stonehenge (outside of Amesbury) in England. We flew into Dublin, Ireland, Bath, England, and Edinburgh, Scotland during an 18-day vacation that included two hiking tours. The first hike was in Ireland (Game of Thrones tour). Read about it here: /https://sheilamurrey.net/2019/12/03/game-of-thrones-tour-dublin-ireland-winterfell/
The second tour, was the reason for our trip to Europe, a Sacred Celtic Journey. Read my three blog articles about our journey here:

One of the reasons I felt drawn to take this journey was to go inside the Newgrange neolithic tomb and to meditate inside the stone circle of Stonehenge. I got way more out of this vacation than I bargained for though! The whole experience (including my winning the entry back into Newgrange for Winter Solstice) really was the highlight of my life!

Amazing, I live about 70 miles from Stonehenge and never been. Shame on me.

I think you told me that once. Some time back they roped off the stones though so unless one goes with a druid or gets special permission, the public is not allowed inside the circle. We also were told not to touch the stones.

Sounds like an amazing experience. I love going to Stonehenge for the Summer Solstice which is also my birthday. 🌞 It’s amazing then and you get right into where the stones are and celebrate from dusk till dawn.

Exactly. It’s one of the special times to get close to the stones. It’s a religious experience.
