Can you believe it’s been 17 years since I joined LinkedIn? I actually feel like I’ve been on the platform longer. I have had to redo what I’ve posted on LinkedIn many times, because I have had people steal job descriptions, follow me (yes, in real life) to where I’ve worked (I would say ‘stalking’ but because I couldn’t prove it beyond coincidence I didn’t accuse the guy of that. If you would rather listen instead of read, play the audio (and there’s a few minutes of BONUS info on the audio this time too!):

Should one close their LinkedIn account after they retire?

Since retiring, I pondered closing my LinkedIn account, but I am continuing to post my daily music blog posts there, at least for this year.

I see several people (mostly the ones I used to work with) who put —RETIRED— or such on their LinkedIn profile and was wondering, how many do that versus simply remove their profile and close their account? Any guesses?

Let me know in the comments if you think my stats are high, in the middle, or low for being on LinkedIn for 17 years.

What I am known for

Be the best version of who you want to be–because if you’re reading my words your soul is probably beckoning you to align with it and live up to your highest ideals. Not perfect because who is perfect? Most stagnate or ‘get stuck’ while on their way to being whatever they think perfection is. Making progress is enough. Carrying your Karma lightly is enough. Be kind to yourself while living responsibly. Who you ARE affects us ALL. We Are All Connected.

Energy/Omniscience (Omnism) governs ALL. Omniscience knows ALL. Omniscience is always with you. You are never alone.

My online Zoom video course, Integrating the Spirals is more timely now than ever because I know people are suffering. (Let me know if you’re interested in working through the Integrating the Spirals course.)

As an empath I want to help ease suffering and raise our vibration to offer hope. I want to uplift others and expand our collective consciousness. I teach breath work and meditation so we appreciate the value of Detachment. We till our inner soil with our breath to calm the amygdala and institute peace. Meditation is an easy way to Connect us with spirit, higher selves, Omniscience God, and receive non-programmed personal guidance.

    1. Yes, it can be time consuming. Great observation!
I have been an early adopter of many social media platforms but I have signed up and then quit (years ago I had removed all but 3 photos I had on Facebook). And then, I signed up again. Something always propelled me to re-join. So perhaps I was on LinkedIn even longer than 17 years yet I am certainly no master of it. Good luck with using it to your advantage!

  1. I have LinkedIn but have never used it in earnest at all. My brother recommended it a fair while ago. I kept getting Agency Nurse job requests mostly. Now retired? I will certainly delete it now. You look to have a healthy connection with it though Sheila. Who knows what may be around the corner. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it I suppose. All the best.

  2. Seventeen years, that’s quite an achievement. I’m not sure how long I’ve been on Linked-In but I am always being head hunted by substitute teaching agencies to the point I’ve had to say no.
