It’s March 25th, 2024; Here’s an original country song about leaving someone, something, or a place you love. The song gives us a feeling of return. When you love someone, something, or a place most of us at least have a dream of returning even if we doubt we ever will. That seems to be built into our human nature.

Leaving a love

Here’s the eighty-fourth new music post for 2024, as I plug along at a consistent pace to share our original music for you to hear and enjoy. This is a smooth country tune that invites you to hum or sing along. Almost everyone has left someone, something, or some place they loved. Leaving a love isn’t easy.

Richard left Kentucky over forty years ago. I don’t know how difficult it was for him then because A) we didn’t know each other, and B) he had a great desire to live in Florida. I think when we have more of a reason (or energetic pull) to move somewhere new, it makes it easier for us to leave our current home place. What do you think?

Music helps to soothe the savage beast as the old saying goes. And that’s our hope with this song. I also think this is a point of convergence in this blog and why our original songs marry nicely in the whole kaleidoscope of my Integrating the Spirals spiritual message, philosophy, and mission.

People, things, or places

Is it easier to leave people, things, or places we love? We’re preparing to leave a place (the state of Florida) that we’ve loved for decades. We have to focus on the wealth of good things ahead for us in New England to dissuade us from fretting over leaving the state Richard and I have both loved for so long. I think it may be easier to leave things (because a lot can be gotten again if it’s really needed, unless it’s a priceless memento or such), than it is to leave people (though we can, via technology, see and hear them whenever we want. So, perhaps leaving a place is the most difficult, but let me know in the comments.

In speaking about our upcoming move north, one of my dear Facebook friends offered, “Florida will always be here.” Suggesting we can always come back, or at least visit, etc. And I am sitting here in Florida thinking that once we leave, we’ll never come back. So, taking my friend’s thought to heart, it can help me leave and feel better about it.

I think ‘Letting Go’ in general is difficult for people who are hell-bent on ‘Hanging on’ to anything. So, perhaps ‘Letting Go’ is a skill we can work on? I think there’s value in learning how to gracefully ‘Let Go.’

Picture of a refrigerator magnet I bought decades ago that I look at and meditate upon when I feel the need to reach for a better feeling thought about leaving anything or place I love. It says, “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” It is a proverb.

Enjoy (IN Joy) and have fun! Be Everything All the Time.

May we all soar in ’24! Here’s to loving ourselves all the way through, expanding our consciousness, loving ourselves through it ALL, and living FREE!

Yours in expanding, loving, spiraling consciousness,

Sheila “Spiral Sister” Murrey
