I feel quite similarly about the country I live in. I’m just very thankful I had the sense to leave the “taxed to death” state of West Virginia and move to Florida when I was 22. We’ll see how much longer we can hold out til we immigrate somewhere else. Friends own a private island but we need a million bucks to join them. Ugh

My late wife and I lived in Miami for many years but now I am in the New York area to be close to relatives. Yeah, a private island is not going to work for me either. I’m just going yo hunker down in my hovel north of the city with my cat and a fully-stocked liquor cabinet.
