Mom, why did you bite your fingernails?

Mom, why did you bite your fingernails?

For as long as I can remember my mom bit her nails. And I always wondered why. She used to tell me it was “just a habit.”

My mother was a woman of strong faith, having been raised in a devoutly Christian home. She was also a deep thinker, earnest student, and hard worker. Mom’s parents never argued in front of their children either. So, what caused my mom to feel inferior (which can be a cause for such types of habits)?

As an aside: I picked up the habit from my mom and bit my nails for over 20 years. I had low self esteem as a teen, and often thought I had an inferiority complex!

Asking the question

Now, in my fifties, one morning (three years after my mom’s death), I sat in meditation and silently asked, “Mom, why did you bite your nails?”

The answer: “It was a way of hiding.”

And I got an image of how one hides a smile behind a hand, and when a man twists his mustache hair. I never had the thought before that one can hide behind their hand while biting one’s fingernails.

Hmmm, hiding? Hiding from what? I quickly retorted in thought.

Almost as soon as the first answer came, the second came. Hiding her soul.

How does one hide their soul?

Then, I was on a quest.

Why and how do we hide our soul? And is this a fight with our inner-being?

Are we reserved in behavior because we are afraid to let our innermost thoughts out?

Do we feel we will be judged?

Why would my mom have felt she would be judged? As especially in her youth, when presumably her nail biting started, she would have had no reason to fear judgment.

But, my mom was painfully shy. Always preferring to stay in the background. My mom preferred solitude to group gatherings—unless the gathering was in church (but even there, she didn’t like the spotlight).

Do we question our power?

One of the only times I saw my mom speak publicly, was when the church congregation was asked to share an individual testimony (of God showed up or intervened in their life).

I would listen to my mom’s personal testimony with awe, each and every time. And I had often wished my dad could have been there, at the prayer meeting, to hear mom’s words. Mom spoke with a gentle tone, but at the same time, a commanding authority. To me, this meant mom was speaking from a profound knowing. From a place of truth.

Are we afraid we can’t live up to the expectation of our soul?

As I searched the Internet on the subject of our soul, I found a series of quotes by author, Parker J. Palm. One of his quotes that caught my attention follows:

Parker J. Palm quote

As soon as I read Parkers quote, I realized he had also touched on the soul phrase given to me in the early 2000s that set me on my Awakening journey. The phrase, which became my mantra, We Are All Connected.

In summary

So far, the way I commune with my soul, and share what I find, (that aligns with the lessons I have learned by sitting with these questions), is the way I speak and share about the mantra, We Are All Connected. We Are Not Alone. And that we are more powerful than we can imagine.

Community means never losing the awareness that We Are All Connected.

Whether we feel less than, insecure, are shy, fearful, or that we may not express our truth in a clear way, we CAN speak and share from our soul, from our innermost truth. We simply need a courageous push or willingness to do so.

Perhaps we are old souls. But that is a question for another meditation. OM

About me

I have a passion for WORDS and Connecting people. In particular, I love speaking and writing about spiritual and consciousness raising topics, holistic wellness and simple healthy living. I am empathic, intuitive, compassionate, and kind, with a keen and unified wisdom about life.

I’m an Amazon bestselling author of two co-authored books: “Transform Your Life Book 2 Inspirational Stories and Expert Advice” and “Energy of Receiving”, available on Amazon. Plus, I’ve written a health book (in the making for 13 years), Take It Upon Yourself to Live a Wholly Vibrant Life, that’s available here.

Observations about the author

Conversations surrounding emotional balance, moral ambiguities, and deep spiritual truths (such as We Are All Connected, and Put Your Hands Together When You Pray), are what Sheila is most passionate about. She feels a profound empathic Connection with people and what they’re going through by merely sharing her own truth, by speaking freely about her personal struggles and the challenges she continues to overcome. Sheila strives to ease lonelines, help those exiting toxic relationships, and to remind us all that we are stronger than we think we are, and that Everything Resolves to Gratitude in the end.

Me – 42 years later

Me – 42 years later

Rewriting my 1978 poem

My 1978 poem, “Me.”

Now, that I’ve broken free from the drama of my youth;

Having learned what it means to heal and become whole;

And written, spoken and sang many times about all of that;

Having traveled through many of the states I’d dreamed of;

I’ve found myself, and continued to be:

Steeped in history;

Fascinated by my ancestry;

Serene near the ocean;

Entranced by magical trees;

Engaged with mystical rocks;

And mesmerized by waterfalls;

Raising children at the World’s Most Famous Beach, and lastly at the Jersey shore;

Enjoying the beach sand in summer,

The endless sway of the palm trees,

More than watching the games people play;

I’ve lived in the middle of the USA in the icy winter and visited snowy New England,

To usher in new technology and witness twin granddaughters birth;

I haven’t always been true to myself,

but I’ve experienced magnificence growth in ALL.

I’ve found excitement, romance, pain, and peace;

I’ve discovered that I’ve always been me, in ALL ways—whether happy or sad;

And I am thankful.

I am content.

I was me all along.

And I put all of me into my children, the good, the bad, and the beautiful;

My soul hasn’t changed much, but my mind and heart has expanded;

Widening my perception;

Deepening my compassion;

I’ve enhanced my understanding of so many things;

And calibrated back to balance;

To continue to bloom where I am planted.

Me – 42 years later.

Walking in another’s shoes and waiting on the sun

Walking in another’s shoes and waiting on the sun

Is it possible to walk in another’s shoes? Really? To see and even begin to understand another’s plight or their perspective on life?

I’ve tried on used shoes before and they hurt! Physically, they can throw your spine out of alignment too. But a whole lot of us are trying to understand our brothers and sisters pain right now, because we innately know, We Are All Connected.

How can you see life through the lens of another’s experience?

We must access knowledge. How do we gain insight when we can’t trust the media or mainstream narrative? We can watch and listen to those we know. We can open our hearts and minds to those we meet. But we still may find ourselves upset and off balance.

Ethnicity

I am of English, Irish, Dutch, German, and Native American lineage (Cherokee tribe).

And my grandmother was persecuted for being Native American. But, though I remember a few of her stories, I didn’t live her life. I only got the few stories that she chose to share with me. I was 18 years old when she died, and I as only really ever interested in her stories during the last few years of her life, because I was focused on being a teenager.

We all bleed the same color.

Humanity trumps race

A friend of mine has called for all of us to check the box: Other —and write in HUMAN, whenever we have to fill in ANY form that asks us for our race and ethnicity.

Are you willing to do that?

I am.

I consider myself a mixed bag anyway, and have never thought of myself as “privileged” because I have worked (since I was 15), for everything I have ever had (even putting myself through college, putting braces on my teeth, etc.).

Brutality

As I mentioned, my maternal grandmother told me stories about how she and her Native American ancestors were persecuted—some of her elders had been forced to walk the Trail of Tears.

I have a book about the Trail of Tears and haven’t even been able to read it—yet. As I recall, I had nightmares from watching Roots when I was young.

We don’t watch TV, but I see headlines when I log into web applications for my work. And on breaks, I see stuff on Facebook. But, as an empath, I have known for several years that if I am not careful, I can easily get sucked into other’s drama, because I always feel that I can help ease their pain–somehow. (See my 2016 article: https://sheilamurrey.net/2016/03/08/walking-more-than-a-mile-in-anothers-moccasins/

Does the color of my complexion, mean my pain doesn’t matter?

Everybody hurts

I have been bullied, lied to, cheated on, yelled at, cursed at, gaslighted (way before I ever knew what that was), left alone to fend for myself and my two children (when they were young), raped twice, betrayed, abused, kicked, shot at, had my car taken away while I was at work left with no way home, had my ex sneak his way into my office screaming for me to come home, and thrown out of our house (all our belongings on the driveway)! So, I can very much relate with agony and PAIN!

Is that what you want to hear? To see?

I RISE!

With every fiber of my BEing, I take it upon myself to RISE!

I alone am personally responsible for how I feel, and how I respond. I have mastered being quiet. Now, I need to speak!

I believe we can all RISE together—if you are willing to put forth some effort (and acknowledging that your level of effort may differ from mine and that’s okay)! I am all about personal responsibility. I hold myself, thoughts, words, and actions to a higher standard. And always here in ALL ways to offer a hand UP.

Complaining and Protesting

I learned years ago, that protesting, as certain people and groups are currently doing in cities across America, would never feel good to ME because I am a peacemaker by nature and by what life has taught me to be.

Years ago, I tried to take part in a march against Monsanto. And I tell you, I was fired up and READY to march. But, I felt the Energy shift in me when I arrived on the scene. I saw some hypocrisy among the organizers. And I saw the money being made. I felt my emotions had been hijacked, so I left. I remember distinctly making a conscious choice to leave and not sew any seeds of discord. I chose to never use any chemical product of any sort again. I chose to become more connected with my food and what I put in and on my body (See my Being Wholly Vibrant blog.)

Discord

Now, I realize there is a time for Everything. I do not have my head in the sand.

I had to sit with a situation that disturbed me this week. And then, I asked the Universe why it had to happen THIS week because our generator quit, we live off grid, and only have the SUN to supply our power needs. Plus, we aren’t receiving much sunshine all week due to a tropical storm in the gulf! Frayed nerves!

I just had to sit and receive what I could learn from it. And remember to activate my faith.

Remembering lessons

  • I always have the power of choice and can choose to balance my emotions
  • Complaining adds to the discord and never makes me feel good
  • Judgment keeps me sitting and spinning in repeating patterns
  • Not my circus, not my monkeys (though this week it WAS my circus!) LOL
  • I’d rather laugh than cry!
  • We are going with the FLOW of nature, and wanted that so much!
  • No one can FIX anyone else
  • It is an inside job
  • Only I can manage my own Energy
  • I wanted to be one with the earth (now, hoping more above it than below it!)
  • I know everything happens for a reason
  • I know Everything Resolves to Gratitude

As of today, going through what I have, I now know that I am more of a Creator, than a Destroyer.

Last night was a full moon. I took some time to hold ceremony outside, though I could not see the moon for the full cloudy sky.

I remembered cutting the cords of repeating patterns three years ago, but here we go again. And it’s okay.

Energetically, I cut the cords of all of our karmic and ancestral wounds for my granddaughters and the generations to come. No curse remains.

Here and now I state, my grandchildren will not have to take any historical family burdens upon themselves. They can be self-filled. Self-motivated. They can help others as they choose. Free spirits! They can care for themselves first, without guilt. They can choose to do what they love! They do not have to repeat the sins of their parents, or of mine. They do not need to try and figure anything out. The past is the past and it is abSOULutely done.

I continue to sail on this ship of fools. And it’s ALL okay. Everything is in motion.

To find my feet upon this beautiful earth, I keep repeating: BE HERE NOW.

At some point, in the spiral of time, humanity will learn to appreciate, honor, and even revere, the CONTRAST that brings about Creation.

I am human. I am imperfect. I am empowered. I am free. I am LOVE.

The truth lies somewhere in between

Truth lies somewhere in between

Arguing and bickering

Some people seem to thrive on arguing. I’m thinking in particular of lawyers, couples in tumultuous relationships, and those who always stir up or fuel discord on Facebook (and other social media).

My dad would often tell my mom to, “Change the subject.” And then he would change it!

I don’t think dad really ever liked arguing with my mom, though they constantly bickered. And all of that lead to my awareness that, “The truth lies somewhere in between.” And “It takes two to fight.”

Yet, it took me decades to learn that one of the two in an argument simply needs to STOP FIGHTING (in essence, release the resistance), to end the argument.

Yes, though my parents loved each other passionately, their love was not unconditional. Through watching them, I learned all about conditional love. So, how could I know what true love was?

Observations of parts

I observed, during a Bible class I participated in a few years ago, that some attendees argued more about specifics, like healthcare and sexism as related to Trump. I had to keep pulling people up to the macro general level and why we were there.

I seemed to only see the downside to love growing up in a dysfunctional family. I never thought anyone got it right. And then later, when I fell in love (or what I thought was love), I perpetuated the toxic cycle.

Truth lies somewhere in between

Which part am I?

  • I am not my body
  • I am not my mind
  • I am more than the sum total of my collective experience

I can list my likes and attributes, but you may still have a better idea of who I am, than I will ever have.

As my adult children and I have recounted stories from their youth, they certainly saw a different side of me than I self witnessed. The same must be true of how I viewed my parents volatile relationship.

Examining my characteristics

  • I am honest
  • I am sensitive
  • I am empathic; sometimes intuitive
  • I love deeply
  • I am resilient
  • I have fought tough relationship battles that might have wrecked others
  • I am a loyal friend (and keeper of secrets)
  • I allow my feelings to be hurt (and sometimes become resentful, until I become fully aware that I allowed my feelings to be hurt).
  • I hold stuff in (I say it is to “protect” others and spare them from having to observe it or get involved—but is that really true?)
  • I have been a codependent (but does one ever really heal from codependency?)

I don’t want to hold stuff inside, but anytime I get mad or speak my mind it pisses other people off.

I struggle with people pleasing. Or people not listening to me. I never saw my mom get too far when she argued with dad or others, so I decided early to forgo the arguments. Or so I thought! Both my first and second husbands argued with me. Ugh. And my children were witnesses to so much of that—and I hate that!

Learning from the lessons

Whenever I am emotionally triggered, I read this:

I never like to be disrespected, bullied, or have my intelligence questioned, or be treated less than I am! But I know I’m not always right. As well, others, no matter how well or how long they have known me, don’t know all of my thoughts, wishes, or desires, and that I strive to always respect others and show kindness if nothing else. I know many people are hurting, sad, mad, over or under medicated, or are hungry for love. And I realize no one knows Everything—not yet.

❤️🦋🌀🙏😉

What to do?

  • I am too analytical to blindly follow
  • I am independent
  • I am curious and always seeking
  • I can focus on the positives

I have some clairsentience and clairaudience abilities, though not tuned specifically to aid others. Perhaps I will offer these senses and abilities more of my time.

Fight to feel better

…When you feel bad nothing works. You labor to get out of bed. You stub your toe on a table that has never moved and you’ve known for years where it is. You lose your car keys, glasses, or phone. Walk around with a big old frown on your face and you know it drives people away from you. You’re fighting with yourself about something. Let go of whatever you’re resisting and your day will improve.

From my book, Take It Upon Yourself to Live a Wholly Vibrant Life!

Be as water

I love the water (but looking at it, or walking along the shore more than swimming in it–though I love to float!)

Water doesn’t fight with itself. Or does it?

Water rages. Water flows. Water falls. Water is still.

I will EXPLORE more ways to be like water!

Yes!

I will find my own balance.

I will find my own level.

I will start by reminding myself that the truth lies somewhere in between. I will not judge by what I see in the mirror, but simply point out the many facets of truth, per the mirror disco ball.

As Scott Buck, a writer on both Six Feet Under and Dexter series dramas often made a foundational point of saying, “We never really know a person.”

I like to compare our personalities to facets inside a kaleidoscope or disco ball. We reflect what we see or imagine others to be.

Even racists can be kind. And I am about over all the hate from the other side. ❤️🦋🌀

Dumbing down – why we don’t watch TV

Dumbing down or why we don’t watch TV

My husband and I turned off the television and cut the cable about 2 years ago. Why? There were many reasons that still hold true today, as I will elaborate:

  • CHANNEL
  • PROGRAMS
  • PROGRAMMING
  • BIG BUSINESS

A child of the 60s

Being a child of the 60s, I used to sit on the floor (or lay down), and watch television (TV) for many hours. Hours on end. And when I wanted to watch a different show, I had to physically get up to change the CHANNEL. (Gasp! I know, right?)

Ah, yes. All those shows, or rather PROGRAMS. They were funny, sad, dramatic, or fascinating. They were full of words and actions all specifically geared to grab and hold my attention via a CHANNEL and PROGRAM me! And boy, did they keep me focused. They put me into such a trance like state that my mother often had a hard time getting my attention!

The dawn of reality

Many years later, it dawned on me. They call it television PROGRAMMING for a reason. And I had been hoodwinked to think they had just been entertaining me. But, the entertainment industry is a business. BIG BUSINESS.

Fast forward some 40 years. My husband began watching my favorite soap opera with me. After a few weeks, he said, “They just keep bringing these characters back from the dead, don’t they?” And then something clicked in me. It’s all the same story—repeating all the time! I began to spot the patterns. And in every show on mainstream TV, we could surmise the storyline and tell what the plot would be, before it even happened!

We quit watching

Eventually, after being lulled to sleep enough times, or annoyed by lazy screenwriters, we quit watching any mainstream TV and switched entirely to the pay CHANNELS! The writers for the shows on HBO, Showtime, and such were so much sharper! But even with that, we would find ourselves bored in one or two seasons of most series, and watch movies instead.

More importantly, we could see certain agendas being pushed. Common narratives. Plus, we were always being “sold” something. The advertising was getting so ridiculous! And we wondered if we were the only ones awakening to the games show BUSINESS was playing.

What was happening to the masses of people watching?

Dumbing down

First, let’s start with those monotonous soap operas. We know they were originally developed to sell the stay-at-home moms, soap. Yes, literally.

Then, there were episodic shows that prompted the whole consumer mentality to “keep up with the Joneses”—whomever the Joneses were! And who would care? Apparently, a whole lot of folks. And the beast of advertising every product or service from A to Z began to run rampant.

People tend to literally zone out in front of the TV and in that mental state, whatever they see and hear gets absorbed into their mind—and into every cell of their body!

We lose track of time when we watch TV. And many of the shows seem to push dogmas or agendas. And when one disagrees with those threads of dogma, that can cause anxious feelings or ANXIETY! I want to feel FREE and at peace.

Historically speaking, when the television remote came onto the scene, people as a society began to mute the commercials. Why? And when we got a video recording device, for me at least (it was an $800 VCR from a rental place), we could fast forward through all the commercials! I loved that, but didn’t think about why. I was just happy that I could watch my daytime soaps at night after I got home from work! Oh, those were the days!

But, I digress.

Story lines and plots

It seemed every family show was full of chaos and challenges. Everyone was always buying something new. Or one of the characters had some lingering issue. The dumber or more silly the story, the funnier we thought it was, until it wasn’t. Every good family value seemed to be shaken.

I yearned for smart stories and plots. Intelligent writing that would intrigue me. I wanted more love and no fear—because I’d learned that every choice came from clear discernment.

Open and expand with less fear

Truth in advertising?

We have been overly stimulated by the commercials. Big business runs it all anyway. I mean, who else can afford a TV commercial?When alcohol and tobacco ads were banned, the pharmaceutical and insurance industries jumped in to fill the void. Oh, brother!

Those big pharma commercials began to bother me so much, I would get mad! And that’s when I began to awaken. I began to question what the hell was going on. The list of side effects include DEATH!

It all matters

I’ve been a holistic health researcher and proponent of alternative health methods since 2005, but actually my interest in natural health began much earlier (when I was 6 years old). I explain this all in my book, Take It Upon Yourself to Live a Wholly Vibrant Life! (Hint: my mom and her parents believed and used spiritual healing ways, and chiropractic.)

When I questioned myself and why it took me 20 years to quit watching my favorite soap opera I realized it all boiled down to consumerism. And I had been programmed since I was a toddler!

Thankfully, I’ve emerged from the PROGRAMMING! And it’s a good thing too, because we are too busy to watch TV now.

What do we do instead?

  • I work a day job (see my holistic resume)
  • Working our new business, Murrey Makers—multimedia advertising that combines my intuitive word coaching and writing skills, along with my sharp eye for details that most people miss, with my husband’s award-winning graphic/illustration talent and songwriting, to draw in dream clients
  • Chat with those interested in our new business to see how we can help them
  • Video conferencing with our 8 year old granddaughter (and 3 year old twins when she shares her time with them… haha!)
  • Researching health issues such as COVID-19
  • Building new friendships online
  • Reading
  • Walking / Exercising (mostly at home)
  • Speaking/emcee – The Awakening Wellness Festival
  • Moving
  • Learning new skills and applications for running our new business by working with a high ticket business coach
  • Singing / rehearsing some of my husband’s 400+ original songs and marketing them online
  • Sifting for people to share with about our non-toxic health supplement (see my previous articles)
  • Writing (I have written 3 books, and have a 4th in progress—and I jot down my visions)
  • Blogging on my two sites and updating articles when links change
  • Contributing blog articles to The Wellness Universe
  • Creating new designs with my sayings on them for: t-shirts, mugs, cell phone covers, stickers, shopping bags, tapestries, and more
  • Going “Live” on Facebook and managing groups and pages there
  • Making “Off Grid” videos at the new place
  • Socializing with friends before we moved Feb 29th and after, meeting new neighbors
  • Putting in solar – adjusting to the new lifestyle
  • Putting in a garden
  • Adhering to all the rules around COVID-19, grocery shopping and washing every can, bottle, jar, and such since my husband is 65+ and can’t leave the house

Whew! Until I wrote this, I hadn’t realized why I was so tired! (And why I had been feeling down for a week or so and missed a business retreat).

Yes, I still must take care to actually DO my own self care!

Why all PROGRAMMING bothers me?

We’re smart. Too intelligent to be sold to or duped for long. We’re Awakening. Stubborn and independent. And we’re critical thinkers. Yep. That’s why.

Why big pharma ads bother me?

No one knows your body (and mind) as well as YOU! And this is where (and why) I get all spiritual, because everything is Connected.

We can be our own shaman, guru, preacher, healer, and priest.

We love heart energy and work on renewing our minds everyday. We are fully capable of reaching, listening to, and communing with Spirit everyday.

Spirit created the body and renews the mind, if we but open ourselves to receive.

Jesus, the Christ came to show us the Whole way to live. With God (Omniscience). And that each of us have all that we need. We don’t need a church—sure it is nice to fellowship there, share, show compassion, or enjoy some time, but the point is that we don’t NEED it. Empower yourself with self study. Or simply commune with God as a little child.

What does 100 percent efficacy mean?

What does 100 percent efficacy for a drug mean?

There seems to be a lot of banter about this phrase, “100% efficacy” in regard to certain pharmaceutical drugs that could be prescribed and taken to treat the COVID-19 virus, which originated in Wuhan China, December 2019. But what does that phrase really mean?

Efficacy pertains to how effective a certain drug is based upon the dosage given during a controlled trial. However, the effectiveness of a drug varies widely based upon how people consume it.

Critical thinking

Check out the following article. (Click the link). Even if you simply read the Abstract and Background of the article, I think you will understand where I am going in regards to all of this.

https://bmcmedicine.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12916-015-0494-1

No drug offers 100% efficacy

The bottom line is that no pharmaceutical drug shows 100% efficacy or effectiveness. And yes, there is a difference. Also, many drugs that have undergone clinical trials (for multiple diseases and ills) showing some level of efficacy, were later pulled off the market AFTER people who took the drug died. Look at all the lawsuits!

No drug offers 100% efficacy.

Lawsuits and side effects

People seem to forget about all the lawsuits filed, where plaintiffs who suffered horrible effects, or died, won a sizable settlement for themselves (or their estate) after the government allowed a “medication” to be put on the market and administered by doctors.

And those pharmaceutical advertisements! It is one of the big reasons we quit watching television! I abSOULutely cannot stand the big pharma TV commercials with all their misinformation, hype, and very long list of side effects that typically always include DEATH!

Why this conclusion?

My whole book, (Take It Upon Yourself to Live a Wholly Vibrant Life) is over 200 pages and contains 10 years of research, personal accounts, and family and close friends anecdotal histories—if anyone is interested as to why I state the opinions I hold.

I do not wholly trust the CDC , FDA, or very many of those alphabet agencies (who supposedly exist to protect people), as they are all made up of fallible people—many following political and/or hidden agendas. I question everything. I use Pubmed for health research and read published and peer reviewed articles from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). And I read from a variety of sources to avoid bias.

I use a whole lot of holistic and alternative healing protocols and look at all the angles, so I do not become biased or fearful. I understand that the old, well-known aspirin company used to be good until they bought the M-word company. I’ll never take another aspirin, especially theirs. Also, aspirin is made from White Willow Bark, and it’s easier for me to take that when needed.

Personally, I think it is prudent to follow sensible measures, (sanitization and limiting contact seem sensible), and question everything that is pushed out to the masses (masses are mostly made up of sheep).

Use critical thinking where these things are concerned and follow your gut.

Lastly, please don’t buy into fear. The cells of your body are listening (feeling that in their environment), and that can being on more health ills than most people realize.
Peace. Out. ❤️🦋🌀😀

Moving into 5th density experience

5th density experience

I truly see where I’ve been moving into the 5th density of experience since 2005.

In the beginning

I became aware something profound was happening to me when I started getting GodBumps while talking about Conscious Living, expanding awareness, Christ Consciousness, raw vegan foods, Spirituality, etc. with coworkers. And I have been on a quest to discover “WHY” ever since.

Getting it

When you really GET Jesus (or the Christ, or Buddha, etc.) you no longer need the church, temple, etc. Going can be invigorating or fun, but you don’t need it.

An easy way to discern

You’ll find church to be wherever you hang out with others of like-mind and they will uplift you.

You don’t have to be brainwashed or programmed into a certain rigidity. Too narrow of a focus can lead to separation.

Virtuous Integration

If you want to experience the love of unity, apply and integrate what you’ve learned into your day to day. Practices do not need to become rituals, but deeper awareness while performing daily tasks. Pray without ceasing. Seek the meaning and lesson from every interaction.

Continue to become aware of your own virtues; the highest ideals and values of your life.

When you really GET why you came to live in a body, you’ll no longer need teachers or coaches. You can have fun with them and continue layering knowledge and wisdom gained into your system, but mostly everything you need to know can flow into you, if you are open to receive. Be an open vessel.

Layer upon layer new techniques or such, but understand why you are taking care of your body. You’ll live a wholly vibrant life!

Reasons people leave Church

  • Outgrow it – see through the programming
  • Have been offended
  • Not being told the Truth
  • Been traumatized or abused
  • Victimhood
  • Intolerance
  • Bashing other churches or faiths
  • Questioned too much
  • Gossip / slander
  • Infidelity
  • Sanctimonious attitudes
  • Hypocrisy

Now, don’t kill the thought messenger for pointing these things out. You are more than sheeple!

Our bodies are our temple

Having cleaned a branch church building for months and then being told to leave during a storm when shelter was needed, showed my mom which side those “good church members” were on—and it was not God’s. I could see right through them, though it took mom a bit longer to come around to that knowing. Those hypocrites were living in fear of the insurance company!

Ah, split energies! Know this: Jesus didn’t preach in churches!

Choose you this day how you will feel, and whom you will serve. Find your inner tranquility in each moment.

My being-ness resonated with this video.

I appreciated Neale’s transparency and Eckhart’s powerful stillness (even while he was speaking), as contradictory as that seems.

Bliss. Yes, the more we integrate and allow our Spirit to lead (instead of our Ego), in our daily activities, the more we feel it and know the truth of us.

No graven images

Why no graven images?

Primarily because graven images remind us of the past. And we are to live in the present moment. The dead do not need shrines. And everything man-made will be destroyed in the end. Everything is temporary.

God is ever-living Omniscience

Are you smarter than God? You think you are if you presume to know how God wants you to worship a particular religion. The knowing or “path” to LIMITLESS Source Energy Creator is a narrow one because most find it too difficult to let go of earthly material possessions and simply be present in every situation.

#Namaste #GodInYou #Holism

We are much more than we see. We are Spirit focused like a laser light beam into a physical body, with a lot of unseen energy round about us. ❤️🦋🌀

I pose this question to you: Where do I end and you begin?

What’s the outcome?

The Grand Beyond

Ah! The bliss and joy I feel when I imagine what the heavenly realm of the Grand Beyond is!

I imagine all the beautiful sunrises and sunsets one sees from the expansive view from the Grand Beyond.

What might it be like to reconnect with my loved ones in the Grand Beyond…

Even if I am not with my loved ones in the Grand Beyond after my Continuation Day, perhaps I will go on to create a new galaxy where many can enjoy the earthly fruits of their labor. And my loved ones can gaze upon that galaxy with awe. They may choose to join also!Oh, what a heavenly and splendid galaxy it will be!

I am writing a metaphysical novel that will explore the nature of these things, but for now, I will leave you with this:

When we wake from sleeping with a song in our head, sometimes even seeing famous people singing a song we’ve never heard before (and for some, they jump up and write the song), where does that come from?

Another dimension or the Grand Beyond?

Name calling

Where’s the love?

Obviously, not everyone can agree with everything or everyone. We may not like everyone. It seems that’s human nature.

We think different. We act different. We look and smell different. That doesn’t make us stupid, bad, or wrong.

The next time you are tempted to call someone dumb, illiterate, an asshole, crazy (or worse), take a moment and BREATHE.

Do you even know the meaning of the negative names you’re calling someone?

One of my family members is functionally illiterate, which is different than being illiterate. He was a slow reader all through school and couldn’t spell very well. He can read well enough to get by, holding good paying blue collar jobs his whole life and running businesses.

No one should call someone illiterate who has an extremely high IQ, runs billion dollar companies, and holds the highest political office in the country. A person can be intelligent, yet prefer not to be intellectual.

Most Americans speak on a 4th grade level. When a politician (or other authority) uses doublespeak or legalize, the majority simply cannot relate. Thus, it takes intelligence to understand that and speak to people at that level to gain a majority of listeners (and followers).

Unifying

I thought all of my “Love and Light” friends believe in unifying? Name calling is NOT unifying. There, I’ve said it.

And for Christians, one of the most used directives in the Bible is, “If my children,” “When my people,” and so on, do this or that. God’s children, God’s people are called to be unifying, to serve, to Love.

What you resist persists

Will we get mad at certain things or people? Probably. Everyone does from time to time. But to live a wholly vibrant and fulfilling life, self control (starting with mastering your thoughts and emotions), is your work. Let others be.

Consider these quotes of Neville Goddard:

Do not dwell on the imperfection of yourself or others. To do so, is to impress the subconscious with these limitations.

What you do not want done unto you, do not feel that it is done to you or another.

Every feeling makes a subconscious impression.

The dominant of two feelings is the one expressed.

Self control

Look at yourself. Are you perfect? And what is perfection about anyway? As I’ve written about before, expand your mind to find perfection in the imperfection. Life’s an art more than it is a science.

If you really feel stuck and can’t move beyond the low vibrational name calling, I suggest doing The Work, beginning with The Four Questions with Byron Katie: http://thework.com/en/do-work

Byron Katie quoteByron Katie quote

From doing The Work years ago, I ascertained that for most it’s nearly impossible (and not our job) to absolutely know some particular thing is true.

I learned to watch and feel for the resonant sensations in my body when I believe certain things are true (vs. how much better I feel when I let go of my judgment about whatever it is and move on to better feeling thoughts).

Again I ask, where’s the love?

Where’s the love?
Where’s the love?

Think about the times you wanted something and didn’t know exactly how to go about it.

It takes breaking a few eggs to make an omelette.

Only the pressure of gravity over time can create diamonds in the rubble. We’d waste our lives waiting for it to happen, wouldn’t we?

Directional

Allow and share LOVE in all directions, north, east, south, west, above, below, forward, and behind. Unseen and seen. Past, present, and future. Indeed, in ALL directions for the benefit of ALL.

Conditional

By its very definition, Love is unconditional. You can’t say, “I love you” and then get mad when your loved one does something you do not like. That would mean you only like that person when they meet your conditions.

You don’t know what’s best for everyone. Nor do you or I know everything. Honestly, none of us will ever know Everything.

Love everywhere

For about a year my daily routine had been to bow my head with hands together while turning and thanking each of the four directions, north, east, south, and west for all gifts and knowledge received.

One day, I realized that I had been missing something.

Now, I put my hands together and stand in silent Gratitude for ALL, above, below, in front of, behind, unseen, and seen. For those who have lived, and for those who will live.

Sending love

The gratitude and love I feel and send is unconditional. I must send it to those I disagree with, as much or more than to those I agree with, otherwise I am not growing or expanding my consciousness.

So, stop the name calling. It only reverberates back to you. And then you may be the one with egg on your face.

Namaste. OM
