It’s December 29th, 2024; We’ve got another tribute song today, this time, for Patsy Cline. I feel like Patsy Cline tonight takes on all her biggest song hit titles and weaves them into a tapestry of lyrics to tell a story and shine a light on a grand voice. While Patsy didn’t write her hit songs (from what I learned in my research, she did co-write a few songs), she had a way of taking a song and making it her own to the point where the masses sure thought she could have written the song.
This is the three-hundred-sixty-fourth new music post for 2024! Similar to yesterday’s song, this original song pays tribute by listing the many acclaimed accomplishments of someone. Today’s song honors the wonderful singer, Patsy Cline. This original song was sung by Lisa Brokop recorded at Steven Cooper’s music studio in Nashville, TN.
As a writer and a singer, I have such a heart for the writers and admiration for wide, vocal-ranging singers. I can’t imagine Crazy being such the hit it was without Patsy singing it though. And yes, I do love Willie Nelson’s version of Crazy too.
My mom always told me that her dad, my maternal grandfather, James, always loved Patsy’s song, Walkin’ After Midnight. I sing it sometimes too, just around the house, whenever I want to feel close to him.
Speaking of spirits
I was on a tare last night! Actually, for the last several nights, I’ve experienced odd dreams. One of my first cousin’s, Laurie (sister of Greg and Josh) lost a beloved partner, John, a few days ago. What was really weird was that John passed away 8 years and one day apart from the date Laurie’s husband, Craig, crossed over to the Grand Beyond! The timing of the losses gave many of us pause. How and why do such things happen like that?
And though I didn’t know John, she only told us about him and her living together when we went to Josh’s memorial in 2022, I’ve already dreamt of him. And I immediately awoke from that dream and wrote his exact words down so I could send them to her. She said, “that sounds exactly like something he would have said.” So, I have been feeling a lot lately.

Maybe it’s the end of the year that’s got me in this mood
Yesterday, Richard and I had to go to the post office to get a money order (we never got checks when we opened our new accounts here in New Hampshire and we nearly never have need for them). Richard wanted to join an arts association here in order to get his art seen. After that, we decided to go to lunch at the restaurant next door to the post office, which we love. We had not been out (and I’d said I wouldn’t) since it had snowed. Well, except when I go out with my daughter to do the weekly grocery shopping, but we don’t always get out of the car, since we have the groceries brought out and loaded for us–spiral thought there. Ha! Point is, Richard surprised me at lunch! He’d brought a CD with him to give to the restaurant manager! He said, “I’ve made a decision.” It’s not always good when he tells me that. But this time, he followed with, “I want to perform again, this Spring. Might as well start giving out my CD to see if we can get a gig.” Ha! No way! I mean, I can visualize it and work toward doing such a thing, but I was simply struggling to walk outside in this cold. Right. Spring. We’ll see. But if we are to do it, he’s right. We’ve got to give them an early opportunity to hear his original songs. That, prompted this:

Our Christmas picture
I always like to snap a picture of Richard and me with a Christmas tree when I can. And while my daughter has a lovely tree up in their house, and with all the people we celebrated Christmas with this year, no one took our picture! Ha! So, here’s the selfie of us that I took at lunch yesterday. My natural spiral curls didn’t show in this picture because I keep my hair pulled back in a pony tail most of the time (think, static), and also, wear my wool knit cap from Ireland when I step outside at all. I plan on cutting my hair this Spring too (I just cut two inches off of it a few days ago), so there’s that.

One of my favorite living things
I received my Yew tree calendar the other day! I was so excited to receive a package in the mail from Scotland! I put this in a prominent place in the kitchen so I can see Yew trees every day! Perhaps I’ll use it to mark our Live music play dates this year!

I know you’re getting tired of hearing about it, but

Everything happens for a reason in the multiverse and there are myriad sides to every story
Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason in the multiverse and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. Even if we have to disconnect from some people, for a time.
Enjoy (IN Joy) everything and love! Be Everything All the Time. Let’s soar in ’24! And let’s (are you ready for this?) THRIVE in ’25! or just be… Alive in ’25.
Yours in expanding, coexisting (because there’s more than one-side to every story), spiraling consciousness,
