It’s May 20th, 2024; Here’s an original rockabilly song that’s sure to put a smile on your face, whether you laugh at or with the outrageous lyrics! Haha! The Righteous Buds recorded this Live many years ago. It got uproarious applause when they played it out at the bar too!
It burns
Here’s the one-hundred-forty-first new music post for 2024, as I consistently and sometimes outrageously share one of our original songs with you! I’m not even going to get into how this song came about (if it was based on a true story or not), but I do think it’s quite unique and could fit into a movie or TV show easily. What do you think?
I don’t know if any of you have dealt with the subject this song presents, but I’m betting you weren’t laughing about it at the time. Now, you can though! Hindsight is 20-20 as they say.

It’s May 19th, 2024; Here’s an original upbeat and lively pop song that’s about feeling like you’re butter-side down. This is a favorite danceable song of mine. I love the lyrics and snappy sound. Bubba Hudson’s back on vocals in this unique ode to toast. Ha! This song was delightfully mixed by Steven Cooper in his studio in Nashville, TN.
Ever felt like you were butter-side down on the floor?
Here’s the one-hundred-fortieth new music post for 2024, as I consistently flip one of our original songs out to ya! This one comes with butter! Haha! Have you ever felt like you were butter-side down on the floor?
Any of us could find ourselves feeling like we’re butter-side down on the floor, but the good news is, we don’t have to stay that way. Ask for “a little help please?” to find your way back up. Don’t let life get ya down.

It’s May 18th, 2024; Here’s an original country song that’s all about finding your version of Paradise. Ahh! What a beautiful thing to dream about! This song was professionally mixed by Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
What’s your definition of Paradise?
Here’s the one-hundred-thirty-ninth new music post for 2024, as I consistently show off one of our original songs to increase your joy (or expand your consciousness) each day.
Perhaps your version of Paradise is a stay in Bora Bora? Or perhaps buying your own house? Maybe buying land and placing a double-wide mobile home, or living/traveling in an RV or van is your idea of Paradise? You choose! Take this few minutes while you listen to let your mind drift.
Dreaming
I love dreaming. I used to daydream a bit when I was young and in school too. Maybe that’s helped me over the years. I mean, doesn’t creativity begin with dream-like thought processing? I’m an analytical person too though, and feel the analytical part led me throughout most of my career in technology, so there’s that. Yes, I am a critical thinker. I loved learning how to be objective when I was in college. However, I still love to dream. I guess I have more time to do that now, right? Haha!
Screen capture from X: “They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests. It’s called the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.” –George Carlin

It’s May 17th, 2024; Here’s an original easy-listening song with a bit of country flair. This unique love song starts with a story about meeting in 7th grade, but not having one’s love acknowledged right away. This song was intricately produced (with some sweet riffs too!) by Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
Love acknowledged and returned
Here’s the one-hundred-thirty-eighth new music post for 2024, as I consistently put forth one of our original songs for everyone’s enjoyment each day. Listening to this song made me think about all our friends (and blogger pals too), who’ve been in love with their partners since their school days–some high school sweethearts, and some who met in college.
I know some people who fell in love when they were young but had their hearts broken when the person they loved never acknowledged, much less returned, their affection. Little hearts can break too! I sure hope we’re around for a long time to help our granddaughters through this kind of scenario.
Don’t forget to acknowledge how great it feels to be with someone
I tend to be aloof and shy around new people. But once I feel comfortable then look out! My husband says I’m a talker. I will talk and talk! Ha! And now, living next door to my daughter, he says she takes after me too. Haha! I told him he’s a talker as well though. When we first met (we dated online for a year) our date lasted 4 hours! That was not all due to me talking! Hahaha!
Meme: “When you connect with people who are good for you, you feel it. This is a big deal. Don’t forget to acknowledge how great it is to be around someone who lights you up. Tell them, even if you feel a little weird. Your people love your weirdness.” –fb group/Whispers Of Beautiful Souls.
Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) creates a kaleidoscope grand design that freely lives, moves, and breathes, I would think it would help me not to feel shy around new people. Then again, I’m probably sensing their energy. So, there’s that.

It’s May 16th, 2024; Here’s an original country song about the love, guidance, and encouragement of a daddy. This song was beautifully produced (with lovely piano playing too!) by Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN. I know lots of us want to rebel from what one or both parents told us (especially when we’re teens), but as we’ve aged and experienced more from life, we can recollect and appreciate how many truths our parents (and grandparents) presented to us that now, make sense.
Parental love
Here’s the one-hundred-thirty-seventh new music post for 2024, as I consistently share one of our original songs via this blog. Richard was thinking a lot about his daddy when he penned this touching tribute to DADS and the parental love they give. I know Father’s Day is coming up in June and I could have waited til then to share this, but after chatting with a fellow blogger (who’s also a dad), I felt it was appropriate to go ahead and present this:
Speaking of daddy’s, my dad had the worst case of flu in his life (as he explained to me years ago), after taking a flu shot. I took one, and I was okay, but I never took another one–choosing to focus on gut health and immune-boosting foods/supplements.
Shared Crossings
Last night, I attended a Shared Crossings SDE Sharing Group call on Zoom. SDE means Shared Death Experience. The meeting was a little over an hour of folks speaking about their personal experiences shortly before, during, or within a few weeks of someone’s passing (usually someone who was near and dear to them). Everyone who spoke totally believed in their experience, and one person who had experienced this phenomenon recalled it clearly from 35 years ago!
I get that if one hasn’t had one of these surreal existential experiences it’s easy to discount them as pseudo-science, fantastical meanderings, or mere dreams from the subconscious. But after assisting on a small team for Dr. Raymond Moody (Life After Life) last year, and having my encounters with my mom (from the Grand Beyond, which I wrote of in Blue Eyes: Ethereal Messages of Connection), and dreaming of my dad’s passing, which I wrote about in this blog article: https://sheilamurrey.net/2019/04/19/a-surreal-vision-of-soul-departing/, I am OPEN to receive. I am open and very willing! Their love for us continues!
Health Freedom
As a follow-up to the Health Freedom topic I brought up yesterday here, I want to unapologetically share that:
If my husband and I hadn’t worked for the government, if we hadn’t experienced the inefficiencies and mistakes (and greed) of Big Pharma, if we hadn’t experienced the healings from fasting, juicing, and eating raw vegan foods (in 2005), if we didn’t follow doctors like Dr. Tenpenny, Dr. Mercola, Dr. McCullough, and many more (before the mandates came down), we might have taken the shots too. But in my life, I have experienced medical wrongdoings (and so have several family members and dear friends). I have been made worse by medical interventions (which I wrote about in Have Yourself a Wholly Vibrant Life: Reversing Asthma and Other Chronic Illness Naturally), and I have come through by using simple and alternative approaches. So, I can’t go back. I couldn’t accept the mainstream narrative now if I tried (or if they paid me). I’ve come too far and seen too much. To quote a line from one of our favorite British comedies, Little Britain, “Ye know too much”! Yes, we (Richard and I) know too much.
I appreciate it when friends (and fellow bloggers) willingly share here because the shots are still a controversial and touchy subject for most people! Many people thought we were wrong to abstain from the medical intervention (shots), but we knew our bodies better and couldn’t risk it, especially since it was new technology (mRNA), and rushed at warp speed. I will always bet on natural immunity.
I sincerely hope that anyone who has been ‘shot up’ can find relief and healing from the effects.
The following are but a few of my online comments on the vax subject:

It’s May 15th, 2024; Here’s an original pop rock anthem-like song that’s quite timely–actually, I say it’s timeless! Here we have all the makings of an anthem that needs to be spread far and wide as each year the powers that be continue to dumb down the masses. This song offers Bubba Hudson’s fine vocals in an upbeat production mix by Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
Don’t speak
Here’s the one-hundred-thirty-sixth new music post for 2024, as I consistently press one of our original songs via this blog. Richard and I have seen the ‘dumbing down’ of Americans since the 1990s (or even earlier), but it only continues to worsen due to ‘cancel culture’ and censorship. I found the height of hypocrisy and stupidity when the phrase, ‘My body, my choice’ (previously used by women who wanted to retain their body autonomy during pregnancy), yet ignored by those same people during COVID when vaccinations were foisted upon the masses. To me, it’s still ‘My body, my choice.’ No change in the circumstances is going to take away the inherent freedom I have over MY body. But in polite circles, we don’t speak of these things, I guess. Bloody well right, I’ve got a bloody right to say (as the lyrics of my favorite Supertramp song sings).
Critical thinking
Few topics fire me up as much as Freedom of Speech. I spent years in college to learn HOW to think, not WHAT to think. I researched both sides of a subject in order to form my opinion and arguments by which to defend my position. Public speaking was one of my favorite classes–I was even to help write a play while in school that myself and several others acted in. And I participated in a recorded video about Sexual Harassment in the workplace too. I didn’t attend any protests but probably would have if any had been going on at my campus back then.
The word FREE is found within the word FREEDOM
I always hear warmongers say, ‘Freedom isn’t free’ and it sooo annoys me. Freedom is free as the very word contains it. Freedom to choose and speak is built into the American way of life. It’s such a part of the USA that people have died to protect Freedom since the founding of the nation. Most Americans would rather live free, or die!

It’s May 14th, 2024; Here’s an original easy listening song that’s sooo easy to listen to. I get lost in the calming lyrics and melody. I love the desert yet I’ve never lived in a desert region. I’ve often visited Sedona, Arizona, and toyed with moving there (but felt it was too far from my family). Richard was living in Bishop, California when he wrote this. He’s often told me desert stories about the wolves and coyotes howling in the distance, the dry climate, and the chill, laid-back lifestyle. (Though we both loved living in Florida for decades, too! Oh! The juxtaposition!) This song offers a smooth production mix by Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
Easy does it
Here’s the one-hundred-thirty-fifth new music post for 2024, as I consistently dig into my husband’s deep treasure trove of unique and original songs to share. My belly is still sore from a week or more of gastronomic issues (beginning a day or two before we left Florida), so I’m taking it easy today. I’m not doing much but organizing a few things and going to the grocery store with my daughter. Thus, Richard and I are both enjoying the calm center of this song.
Respecting the body
I came upon this quote from John Roedel that seems fitting. I feel the need to slow down and respect my body before I “fall back into the light.” Rest and relax in this “long-term rental” of a body. Ha!
Screen capture: “…my atoms will be a breeze….” –by John Roedel

It’s May 13th, 2024; Here’s an original uptempo rock country fusion song about dysfunctional relationships so many of us have experienced. This is one of my favorite songs of ours as Richard and I used to sing/perform it (with a gender change and without the spoken part at the end). I sing it with a twang if you can imagine. Perhaps I’ll get the opportunity to sing it again out somewhere. Open mic or such. I thoroughly feel the female version rocks ’cause I’ve “been there, done that”! Ha! For me, this is such a healing song! If you’ve experienced relationship woes, give it a listen. This version of the song offers the funky swagger from Bubba Hudson on vocals, as well as a rockin’ production mix thanks to Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
Hope your Mother’s Day was good!
Here’s the one-hundred-thirty-fourth new music post for 2024, as I continue to walk my consistent path and highlight one of our unique original songs each day this year. This song digs into the difficulties one can experience in relationships, where dysfunction is involved. I’ve “been there, done that,” and it’s not pretty. Either an empath is attracted to a narcissist, or there are addiction/co-dependent issues or such.
Mother’s Day is such a mixed bag of emotions for me.
Mixed bag
I read a book years ago after my first divorce called Givers and Takers. I found a lot of truth in the pages of that book. That and many other self-help, transformational books, prayer, group counseling, one-on-one counseling, 12-step programs for families et cetera, helped me pull myself up and out of the mindset, which led me to experience ‘bad’ relationships. Sometimes, as was the case with the second husband, I did tell my friend “No” many times the day she’d invited me to go boating with her (the day I met him). She was trying to set me up with her ex! I didn’t want any part of that. I’d only been divorced less than a year and knew with every fiber of my being that I wasn’t ready for another relationship. I had a solid job, a beautiful 3-bedroom duplex unit with a garage near my children’s school, and my children were doing great in school. I stood up for myself, but I wasn’t strong enough. I still let others overpower my will. My ‘friend’ (she’s passed on now, but even before she died, we’d severed our friendship) wouldn’t take my multiple “No” answers–she had to have things her way. And the rest became an ugly chapter in the life of my children and myself. My children and I learned a lot the hard way from that ill-fated relationship–but each Mother’s Day, I re-live a bit of that in my mind to clear and release the guilt I carry.
Great response from fellow blogger, John Neff in response to my question of why we tend to focus on our missteps/mistakes over our successes in life.
If you’re going through hell
There’s a quote I saw on a billboard once (while traveling for work from Missouri to Florida), and it said, “If you’re going through hell, keep on going.” Later I found it attributed to Winston Churchill. And I’ve also heard it in a song. I love that quote because that’s exactly what I did, though it was painful. I kept on going with that ugly second marriage, even trying one more time after we divorced–I moved to another state and even gave up a good job to ‘try again’ with him. I’d thought since he’d moved from his home state of Florida to Texas, changed friends, been sober for a few years (supposedly), and we’d been divorced and apart for 4 years, that it might work again. I was sure WRONG!
I saw some warning signs (that I probably shouldn’t be back with him) as soon as he’d arrived to move my son and me. My daughter would have no part of him (she’s so strong!) and moved herself back to Florida, which broke my heart. I was proud of her but couldn’t see things through her eyes at the time. I knew I was a big softy (soft-hearted) and I know hormones, patterns, and such sway us (to try and ‘work things out’), but I felt something was ‘off’ as soon as we arrived in Texas. Eventually, after that guy hurt my son and physically abused me (whether it was intentional or not), my son (who was 17 years old at the time) and I left. Neither of us never looked back (and my daughter, who had worried about us from a distance was sooo relieved)! The ex called and called. He called me at work. I would listen for a few minutes and then hang up. He cried, bullied, and threatened me. My boss at the time had met him and took his side. That shattered me. I couldn’t believe she’d take his side over mind since she’d worked with me everyday for nearly a year! Gasp! That just added to my already mentally excruciating experience! Thankfully, her boss and my coworkers believed me. At that time, I needed support.
I left that job and went back to Florida. I threw my hands in the air and said a big, WHATEVER! I didn’t care if I lived or died but was getting the hell out. Perhaps for some of us, that’s our rock bottom. We have to get to the precipice of dying before we make the biggest leap of our lives, alone, and into the unknown. Nothing (or nearly nothing) familiar. Relationship woes SUCK! I realized all I could do was start anew. Like ripping a plant up by its roots. Ah! I did it! I was FREE! Sweet release!
TUT quote about how much the Universe has our back. Something I wish I had known when I was experiencing relationship woes!

It’s May 12th, 2024; Here’s an original slow country song sung by a female singer (pro from Nashville, TN not me). She sings about love expressed through cards and letters. Though the song isn’t about moms or traditional love letters (it’s more about the secret life that some live). But at least it’s about love on this Mother’s Day. Exquisite production mix by Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
Happy Mother’s Day
Here’s the one-hundred-thirty-third new music post for 2024, as I stay true to my consistent approach in sharing one of Richard’s original songs each day this year. This is an older song and when I first heard it years ago, I thought the melody was so pretty. It also reminded me of my mom and the fact that my dad hid things from her (not letters though) for much of their married life. I think many people live this kind of double life. Sad. But I’ve found that even sadness has a purpose–watch the movie Inside Out.
Time with my daughter (and grands)
My daughter and I went to our first art fused glass class together last night (at the art shop where my daughter works, and the place I’d taken our eldest granddaughter when she was about 4 years old to paint ceramics).
This was our one-on-one Mother’s Day celebration. One of the plant spikes I made (of course) included a blue glass spiral! Ha! Perhaps when this class is offered again, or I have the opportunity, I’ll make a treble clef design (I was still recuperating from the stomach bug so it was all I could do to attend and attempt to keep my mind on what I was learning and creating). My daughter’s plant spikes were much prettier than mine! Smile!
Me and my daughter at our first fused art glass class together. 5-11-2024
I’m sooo enjoying living next door to her and I’m waiting for our granddaughters to come over and visit us (and give daughter a break) for a few hours today. I’ve missed so much of their lives. I know I can’t make up for lost time but I’m sure going to enjoy what time we have!

It’s May 11th, 2024; Here’s an original soft rock song that sings about love and loving more. Lovely production mix by Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
Dreams come true
Here’s the one-hundred-thirty-second new music post for 2024, as I work to stay consistent even when life happens (or gets in the way). Ha! I’m feeling better today but my whole stomach/ribs area of my midsection is super sore. But the love of family, being here (right next door) to my daughter, son-in-law, and three beautiful and active granddaughters is taking my mind off of my body pains. And tomorrow is Mother’s Day so we’re celebrating today too! Yes, could I love you more? For me, moving here was one way of saying YES! I love them sooo much!
Watching Coco again
We just finished watching the animated movie, Coco. In that story, it’s all about the love for family that pulls the plot along. We love the beautiful songs in it, the story, and superb graphics. It features a grandmother, mother, and son (and other family members), a tortured past, the wrestling of forgiving and forgetting/remembering, crossing over, and guitar playing. Right up our alley!
Me and the bronze statue of Roy from Winnisquam – one of the things I dreamed of doing (sitting with him on this bench) as soon as we arrived at our new home, and after seeing our family. Thanks to Chaos and Kindness for introducing the world (and all of us) to Roy. The years I followed Justin and Roy’s story (via Facebook live videos) helped me feel closer to my family when we lived in Florida.
Wrapping up this #dreamscometrue post now so I can go say Good Morning to the girls and get ready for my noon Zoom with Dr. Bruce Lipton. Then we’re all going to a pre-Mother’s Day lunch out and later, my daughter and I are taking our first art glass class together!!! Tears of joy as the happiness envelopes me!
Meme: “You have more of an impact than you know. Someone is listening to their new favorite song because you shared it to them. Someone’s day is better because they got to see you. Someone has kept going thanks to your words of encouragement. Someone still lives by the advice you gave them years ago. Someone feels inspired to take a risk after seeing you be bold and brave. Don’t underestimate the impact of your words, actions and energy has on people. A small act can impact others in bigger ways than you’ll ever know.” By kat.onthemat

It’s May 10th, 2024; Here’s an original rock song that tells a story about Evel Knievel (and yes, we misspelled it on the song title on purpose). This rockin’ song’s tempo is an ode to the fast life Evel lived. Richard put his own spin to Evel’s story. Vocals by Bubba Hudson and production mix by Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
Feeling evil? Rest and take it easy
Here’s the one-hundred-thirty-first new music post for 2024, as I work to stay consistent even when not feeling well. Yesterday I had a 24-hour stomach bug so I cut my post short. Resting and taking it easy. I’m drinking dandelion tea with some crackers after not eating or drinking much at all for a whole day. I guess evil fits me for today! Ha!
I’m still alive
I used my Photonic red-light on my belly yesterday, and Power Plate massager–if for no other reason than to take my mind off how bad my stomach hurt yesterday. And I couldn’t even feel any hunger pangs due to the pain. I thought we’d moved here for my daughter and son-in-law to help me with my hubby and here I was the one down for the count! Go figure.
I felt as if I were dying, but thankfully, not yet! I felt like the devil though. Oh, just realized the word ‘devil’ has ‘evil’ in it. LOL
Meme: Some people believe yoga is of the devil. My paraphrase of a Facebook friend’s post.
I always say ‘whatever works.’ Hubby prayed for me twice (healing hands are sooo helpful)! And was very concerned about me. Daughter had to work all day, but came over as soon as she got home to bring me some crackers. I never keep any on hand, but I always think of them when trying to recuperate from something–we just aren’t sick very often.

It’s May 9th, 2024; Here’s an original country song that tells a story song. It’s a slow tempo presented in a smooth production mix by Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN.
Taking a day off
Here’s the one-hundred-thirtieth new music post for 2024, as I consistently showcase a unique song of ours every day for your listening pleasure and enjoyment. Unfortunately, I have a stomach bug or something and need to stay in bed today.
Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow
Giving you something today to hold up my end of the bargain, but feel like crap. Maybe this song goes along with my feeling today.
