It’s July 9th, 2024; We have an original swingin’ rock song about love’s crazy ways. We’ve got twelve steps for relationships that have run aground. The first version of this song offers a rockin’ mix that includes some bluesy violin and a singer who gets the job done–with a deep, smooth voice; a wild pro demo from Steven Cooper’s music studio in Nashville, TN. 

Stories of despair

Here’s the one-hundred-ninety-first new music post for 2024, as I continue to impress you with a new original song every day this year–and meet my consistency challenge!

This song speaks about stories of despair without sharing any. The lyrics encourage the lonely, er, lost hearts, to meet once a week and commiserate, one with another, to heal their loneliness–albeit trading one source of misery for another if taken too far. But everyone has their own way of coping, I suppose.

This upbeat song gives us a new way of looking at ‘getting beyond’ (or getting over) relationship breakups or the bad memories of previous marriages.

Two versions

Sometimes we feel a remake of our songs is in order to put a new voice on a song, rewrite a few of the lyrics, or just get a fresh sound in order to sell the song to a film or TV show. But you can listen to both and let us know which version you think is more marketable in the commercial space.

I can’t believe my daughter is 44! What a life it’s been! I never thought I could even get through childbirth, much less raise my daughter and son to enjoy the fruits of my labor. My daughter and her three girls are precious to me. While I want this day to be all about her, it seems we’re inextricably Connected. We are family!

It’s June 29th, 2024; We have an original rock song for you that employs some killer saxophone from John Heinrich. This song celebrates priceless and rare old friends. And I think you’re gonna love the intro. The whole production is an up-tempo, snappy, radio-ready original song that is truly kickin’ it! Here’s the one-hundred-eighty-first new music post for 2024, as I consistently give everyone a new original, unique song to enliven and entertain. And this one with its killer sax will really inspire you to get up and move! Check it out:

Yesterday afternoon I played board and card games with our granddaughters and we laughed and laughed. Then Richard and I walked to one of our nearby restaurants yesterday for a cocktail and appetizer and it did not disappoint!

We’re off to the lake with our family today to try some kayaking, so I’ll keep this short. Just know that we’re doing our best to live our best life and we wish all the same for you!

This is why I was told years ago to “have fun,” every time I went out the door to deliver a pizza (at my second job)! I was always tired after working all day at the university and I’d get mad at my pizza restaurant manager for telling me this because I was just there to do a job, not to have fun! I now see the relevance though. Enjoy your work. We spend so much of our lives working, so we must make it fun. I’m glad that boss told me that, later one would often tell me to “smile” too, which annoyed me at the time since I’m such a serious and studious person, but I guess I needed that as now both ring true because when I went to Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions our teacher would always quote Mary Burmeister and say, “Be the fun”!

Here’s the one-hundred-seventy-third new music post for 2024, as I make the consistent forward motion to get one of our original songs out to you every day–without burning oil. Have a listen and let us know if you agree that this is a timely song to go viral.

We know it’s going to take a lot of effort on everyone’s part to move off of Mother Earth’s blood, black gold. Can we do it by 2030? If we could put a man on the moon with 1960s technology (and I do mean, IF), then we can certainly accomplish getting off big oil within this decade. We already have geothermal, hydrogen, wind, solar, water turbines, etc. to take us there. And I’ve been an investor of EV charging stations for a few years now (and losing my shirt because that stock has drastically fallen in value since I bought in. UGH!), but I am hanging onto it.

Summer Solstice and First day of Summer

We certainly rolled into the first day of Summer and celebrated the Summer Solstice with a bang. A huge tree fell in our backyard yesterday during a rainstorm! I checked a few things I had saved on my laptop as I sat with questions about what it meant.

We were all glad none of us were outside at the moment the tree fell because it went so fast (we have it on video from the security cameras), that I could see how walking under a tree that was going to fall could kill someone (I’d read years ago about a woman jogger who was killed when a tree fell on her–now, I can see how that could happen).

When our son-in-law and granddaughters came over to get a better look (my daughter was at work), the girls’ began a little whine about how they couldn’t get to their bikes (in the shed), and how they loved the camper and wanted another just like it. They were worried about their toy chest (that’s in front of the shed and under the tree, which can’t be seen right now). Our son-in-law comforted them and told them, “It’s just stuff and can all be fixed/replaced.” And I gave them all pats on the back and arm to reassure them. We all continued to talk about the experience and how glad none of us were outside when the tree fell. The people in our lives are what’s most important.

June 18th – It’s over my head

It’s June 18th, 2024; We have an original unique rock song written for heads made of clay. Richard wrote this rock song (music and lyrics) before he met me, but it suits me to a T. He’s told me many times that I’m “over his head.” He’s as profound as me though. I love the melody and guitar riffs on this song, and yes, it’s one of my favorites. Einstein Hawking way are one of my favorite lines. Bubba Hudson sings this with some emotion. A snappy, radio-ready, studio mix was done by Steven Cooper of Nashville, TN. 

Love life with no rehearsal

Here’s the one-hundred-seventieth new music post for 2024, as I consistently extrude a unique original song from Richard’s vast song catalog to educate and entertain the masses. But maybe, like The Why Files, we offer music for high IQ, critical thinkers!

I agree with Aldous Huxley in his statement, “Unlike the masses, intellectuals have a taste for rationality and interest in facts. Their critical habit of mind makes them resistant to the kind of propaganda that works so well on the majority.”

When Richard and I met for the first time in person (we’d met online and communicated for months first), we had set the date for drinks and I’d taken my two doggies with me. Our date lasted for 4 hours! I think that’s because we are both deep and critical thinkers. Our server had been working on becoming a vet tech and she made us go get my dogs out of the car, walk, and feed them because she was so worried (though it was a cool and rainy day and they were very used to traveling with me). I took them along because it had been a drive to get to our meeting spot and so they could be my excuse to leave had the date went south. LOL

I recall few times in my life where I’ve felt the ping of jealousy. I think my mom did a wonderful job of raising me not to be jealous. I also think I’ve worked on myself a lot over the years to let go of anything I was afraid to lose. Hold on loosely has been my motto since I first heard that song as a teenager. Story songs

Richard loves to observe people and write story songs. He’s done this for far longer than he’s known me. When we started discussing what led him to write some of these songs, he has said he was always curious about why people make this or that choice or decision in life. And that fascinates me too, being one who writes a lot about moral ambiguities and multifaceted enigmas. I’ve always believed the truth lies somewhere in between. Now that I see everything in a multidimensional way, with each of us as fractals of Omniscience, this way of looking at life has become even less about facts and more nuanced.

Before skin bronzers were a thing

Here’s the one-hundred-sixtieth new music post for 2024, as I consistently push out new original songs for your listening pleasure–while you are relaxing in the sun to get your golden glow on. Now, here’s the song:

Tanned and ready

I’m not one to slather on SPF this or that to prevent sunburn. I actually believe the sun has a purpose! I think we need to limit our time in full sun, and maybe that’s why some cultures began taking siesta during the day, but science says we need a certain amount of sun each day to create vitamin D in our bodies.

I used to use coconut oil on my skin (top to bottom) but didn’t know if I was doing the right thing until a veterinarian confirmed the use of coconut oil to prevent sunburn–he told me that when he was a youngster from the islands that all the parents slathered homemade coconut oil on their children from birth on to prevent the sun from burning their already dark skin! He encouraged me to use coconut oil on our dogs’ skin when one had a flaky itchy skin condition! I never bought another skin lotion for myself or my husband after that!

Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. Coconut oil may not solve every skin condition, but I’d rather trust anything God made over anything manmade (and this is true for me in most instances too), as I always love to “go back to the source” as much as possible. I’m probably an anti-consumer. Ha!

Flip side of the coin

While sexting or sexy texting is fun, flirty, and frivolous (a seemingly “it’s isn’t hurting anyone”) activity, there can be downsides if one is doing these things outside of a monogamous relationship/marriage. Be warned, texting/sexting can be addictive and lead to trouble.

Unfortunately, while I love this song, it does remind me of a negative situation. Within my family, one of the guys became so addicted to sexting that it broke up his marriage. I won’t go into the details as it isn’t my story to tell, but suffice to say, it was hell on his wife. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Not everyone can slough off misdeeds (like sexting to others) of their partners, so be forewarned and aware, too much (yes, even of a good thing) can create troubles where otherwise there’d be none. It’s taken me years to “get over” all that.

It’s June 6th, 2024; We have an original pop-rock song that tells the tale about a truck that drinks. This song was written (music and lyrics) by my rockin’ husband Richard Murrey. This upbeat rock song shows off vocals from Bubba Hudson. This unique pro demo is all set for radio–mixed by Steven Cooper in his Nashville, TN, music studio. 

How’d they know?

Here’s the one-hundred-fifty-eighth new music post for 2024, as I consistently plug away at entertaining you with an original song each day this year. Can you believe nearly half of the year is done already? Now, on with the song:

Truckin’

How many of you drive a truck? A lot of people in my family have been truck drivers. Some owned their trucks, others did not. My maternal grandfather was a trucker. My dad and uncle were truckers. Several of my third cousins were truckers (even one of the girls)! I used to ride with my dad in his truck a few times. He used to tell me stories about his truck-driving adventures.

One of Dad’s stories involved the time he dropped a cigarette in his lap. I think it scared him so bad, that was the end of his smoking. He told me he crumpled the pack up and threw it out.

Most of my family members worked on their own trucks too, fixing mechanical issues, changing the oil, changing tired, and so on. They did real handyman things–always troubleshooting. I think that’s what made me so analytical.

Even if your truck drinks, if you need the truck to get from point A to B, or deliver goods and services, feed it what it needs. Your truck will thank you for taking good care of it. Come to think of it, so will your body.

June 3rd – Old school sugar daddy

It’s June 3rd, 2024; We have an original rock song about the guy who raised two wives (before me). Yes, this is a true story song written (music and lyrics) by my incredible husband Richard Murrey. Bubba Hudson lent us his voice on this song and the production mix was skillfully mastered by Steven Cooper in his Nashville, TN, music studio. I imagine there were some laughs in the studio while this was being recorded/mixed. Ha!

Teaching in a new way

Here’s the one-hundred-fifty-fifth new music post for 2024, as I consistently press forward with an original song to uplift, educate, and entertain. When I first met Richard, I felt bad for him that he’d gone through so much with his two previous marriages, but later I realized, I’m glad he appreciates me more from having lived through the previous two! Ha!

Who we are today

I believe we are who we are today based on all we’ve experienced in the past. Of course, the more we can laugh while going through the process, the better, but sometimes our journeys are too difficult (to laugh at the time).
