This is the three-hundred-forty-second new music post for 2024! Richard penned this song after getting a bit frustrated by me, always being on my iPhone while in the bed. Tada! We’ve never had one argument (disagreements, yes), in our twenty-plus years together, but he did encourage me (after writing this song) to put my damn phone away when it was time for bed! Ha! Go figure. I told you I’m not perfect. My sleep improved too though–so score! Talk about a win-win.

We got more snow last night

I’ll probably share a few more of these before this winter begins/ends. I’m looking forward to the Winter Solstice too! Ha! I’m in such a good mood today, and yet, it’s shopping day (which means I will have to go out in this just a bit).

This is the three-hundred-thirty-sixth new music post for 2024! I love songs like that get me movin’! Huh! The original music was recorded at Steven Cooper’s music studio in Nashville, TN. Painting class

My daughter, Marie, and I went to a paint class the other night, and this was the stencil used for the project. Everyone got the same stencil, but each project was still unique based on how we used it. This was the first time I have painted on wood, and our instructor, the shop’s owner, had to show me how to follow the line of the stencil so the paint wouldn’t run underneath the stencil. She had walked by and noticed my brush strokes. But I was artfully painting. because I wanted to create a woodsy effect with the brush–and I don’t think she realized that. It turned out okay, but when the light hit the letter B, I think of that brush stroke ‘lesson’/correction. Afterwards, I did the first brush stroke following the stencil as she’d shown me, but then I went back over it with a bit more paint to achieve the desired effect on the tree and antlers. I just didn’t think to go back over the letter B. Oh well! There’s no Perfection in art! Ha!

Black was suggested for most letters with green for the tree, brown for the stump and antlers, and red for the hat (and we had the option to pull the stencil off the top of the hat so we could paint the inside of it, which, I did). Plus, I chose to incorporate my special ‘blue’ to honor my less-than one-day-old sister, Christina (That little blue dot). Believe handprinted wood sign of mine. Step 3. –Sheila Murrey
Photo: Yay! Completion! I got the stencil pulled off and the shop owner helped fix some of the wood that pulled up and off which began to ruin that letter B. Go figure. Ha! Step 4. –Sheila Murrey

What does the word ‘Believe’ mean to you?

There are sooo many ways to interpret the word, ‘Believe’ don’t you think? At its most basic, I see the Christmas sign with the word ‘Believe’ and think of ‘Believe in the magic of Christmas,” or “Believe in the Spirit of Christmas.” But taken further, beliefs are so individual to each of us. October 6th – Can’t feel the love

Screen capture: My phone weather app shows that we hit 39 degrees (Fahrenheit) last night (in the wee early hours of the morning), and when we got out of bed it was 67 degrees in the apartment, so I turned on the furnace. Our high is only supposed to reach 66 outside (so the lows are on the left and highs are on the right on this app). This marks Day 1 of using the heat in this place. I know it’s Fall now! Ha! I told my sister-in-law, I think it’s Winter! LOL –Sheila Murrey

I love this Fairy Door in stained glass, which we think is just a digital print, but I want to make a similar one with fused glass at my daughter’s art studio. September 28th – Forgettable

It’s September 28th, 2024; We have an original pop song for those who feel forgettable. We were forgotten yesterday while dining out. We wondered if we had gotten up and walked out if anyone would have chased after us to pay our bill! Ha! We were too chicken to try it though. Too honest! But seriously, this is one of our favorite songs. And each time I hear it I think of John C. Reilly in some movie (was it Boogie Nights or Step Brothers?) where he played a forgettable character. Bubba Hudson sings a smooth and easy vocal on this original song, and Steven Cooper of Nashville, TN did an abSOULutely exquisite production on this unforgettable song!

Oh, THIS is scary! Is it true? Did the United Nations just sign a pact where we will no longer have sovereignty within ourselves or within countries? Do you consider yourself a global citizen? If so, is that a good thing? I’ve been hearing “Think globally, act locally” for several years. Hmmm

Marking the lines

Photo: The property across the street from us where the new owner has cleared about 25 trees from it and plans on building a new duplex. But now we can see all the stone walls on the property, and how steep the hill is. I love to think about all the people who had the strength and stamina to carry these stones and build these kinds of walls (supposedly to mark the property lines). –Sheila Murrey

August 29th – Helium huff 4 play and lorem ipsum

It’s August 29th, 2024; We have two original songs for you today! Well, the first one isn’t so much of a song, but a little something Richard created back when we had a music studio on our house–you could use it as a fun phone ring tone or intro to a podcast. I’ve never liked it much, but Richard still howls every time he plays it (often playing it just to make himself laugh)! LOL The second song, Lorem Ipsum, is an ode to writers who do their own content layout (you ‘get it’ if you have ever done magazine layouts, or such). Because I am usually ‘too serious’

I have to mix things up, probably where Integrating the Spirals came from, because I was raised by serious parents to ‘get shit done.’ And while I’m working, focusing on anything–even cooking or washing dishes–I don’t smile. The curse of being a serious person! UGH

I get it. I dig TOO much! I read a LOT of information every day from a variety of sources. Granted, I do tend to read more esoteric stuff than the average person. But I do take it personally when anyone says I’m not informed. I’m simply informed from others that those accusers have never heard of. UGH. I must refer back to my own words, “We all learn at differing rates of speed.” A few screen captures from recent emails that have caught my eye:

This is why it is important to study history and stay abreast of the current political agenda–and keep one’s mouth shut until such time as it’s appropriate to speak. Of course, I’ve never been too good at that! Ha! Though, maybe, after reading Susan’s book, I may have a lot more reason to try! Like Ron White says, I may have the right, not the ability (to remain silent). LOL (I had to find a better feeling thought–as if I don’t laugh, I’d cry).

RFK Jr. will continue to have his name on some state ballots

I’m glad I read Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s email this morning because I had thought he had dropped out of the 2024 Presidential race altogether. Nope! He’s just taken his name off the ballot in 10 key battleground states. I love that RFK Jr. has a desire to improve the health of children and is a supporter of Health Freedom. If you’re scanning my posts quickly, I’ve emphasized the main points that mean a lot to me in bold. Here’s RFK Jr.’s letter, which he emailed to supporters:

Well it is official. Some of what you heard is true. I am suspending my presidential campaign activities, and removing my name from the ballot in a handful of swing states, in order to ensure my candidacy does not inadvertently prolong the damage being done by the anti-democratic corporate kleptocracy that is today’s Democratic Party.
 
As one of my supporters, I would like to tell you what went into my decision, so that you know that your support has not been in vain.
 
Indeed, it is with a sense of victory, not defeat, that I am suspending my campaign. Not only did we accomplish the supposedly impossible task of collecting a million signatures to get on the ballot, but we elevated key issues into the center of national politics. The most important of these are:
 
Corruption of government agencies,
Children’s health and chronic disease,
Ending the war machine,
and
Ending government censorship, surveillance, and information control.
 
When I entered the race 16 months ago, no candidate was speaking about these issues. Kamala Harris still doesn’t mention them, but Donald Trump does. To be sure, I disagree with President Trump on many issues. But on these key matters, he and the people around him are in agreement. I believe I can best serve these goals as part of a unity cabinet inside the Trump administration.
 
I am not naive. I know there is no guarantee that fine sentiments will translate into meaningful action. I have come to this decision through many days of meditation and prayer, during which I have cycled through all of the emotions and arguments that my supporters have expressed to me, from every direction.
 
I also want you to know that I am only suspending my campaign, not terminating it. My name will still be on the ballot in most states. If you live in a blue state, you can vote for me without harming or helping President Trump or Vice President Harris. In red states — the same applies. I encourage you to do so. And if enough of you vote for me and neither of the major party candidates win 270 electoral votes, I could still end up in the White House in a contingent election.
 
I know this decision will be hard for many of you to understand, who have not gone through the intense process I have. To learn more about my thinking and my intentions, please watch this video of yesterday’s press conference, in which I announced my decision to the nation.
Thank you for your support through this intense journey of a presidential campaign. I will continue to do everything in my power to redeem your trust.
