It’s March 4th, 2024; We’ve got a “new-to-you” original song that’s sure to lighten your day and put a smile on your face, even if it’s because you think the lyrics are corny or outrageous. Ha! We always intend to entertain (for the most part) anyway, so there’s that.
Bit of everything and the kitchen sink
Here’s the sixty-third new music post for 2024, as I consistently press an original song via my blog every day this year. The lyrics in this song are a bit zany and throw a lot out there, like zucchini (what else rhymes with bikini?). Ha! Oh, those light days. And can you believe this is a Photoshop of Richard in the video image? He does all of these. He’s a graphics master extraordinaire.
Lots to geek out on
I can listen to this song and geek out on a variety of things. Like how attached we get to things or how much of a box we find ourselves in from day to day.
Detach and have fun
As one of my supervisors at Pizza Hut (years ago) used to say as each of us delivery drivers went out the door to deliver food, “Have fun”! It took me a year or so of hearing him tell each of us that for it to sink in. And as well, another one of my bosses used to walk by my cubicle (on my day job) and simply suggest that I, “Smile”! Ha! It used to irritate me. I have always been such a serious person that even my children rarely (to this day) know why I’m joking. But finally, after twenty-plus years of knowing Richard, I’ve gained a sense of humor. I was always so serious at work that I rarely smiled or had fun. And when anyone pointed it out it always pissed me off, instead of helping me see the error of my ways. So yeah, I now live lighter.

It’s March 3rd, 2024; We’ve got a “new-to-you” original song for you today. It’s a love song that tells the story of a rekindled romantic relationship. It comes as a bit of a surprise to the story’s protagonist too, like lightning from a clear sky. It’s got some different kinds of guitar riffs you may find evocative. I guess we’ll see what you think in the comments.
Everywhere nowhere
Here’s the sixty-third new music post for 2024, as I consistently press an original song via my blog every day this year. Everything is everywhere even if it seems to come out of nowhere. Ha! Getting all sublime (and expanding consciousness) on ya, huh?
I almost feel
I almost feel everyone who has had a relationship end, has thoughts or dreams of rekindling it. Note how many people you know that have broken up and then gotten back together again. I bet it’s more than you can count on one hand. But of those, how many of the rekindled relationships last? (The one I had didn’t.)
Always thankful
As my daughter and I say to each other often, “If that other relationship had worked out, I wouldn’t be in the wonderful one I’m in today”! And that’s so true. Thus, we can always be thankful. We are the strong and loving person we are today thanks to the stuff we’ve been through in the past.

Enjoy (IN Joy) your day! I would say, ‘Be Here Now’ by Ram Dass, but I’ve learned from Nassim Haramein to, Be Everything All the Time! Hahahaha!
Remember: It’s all frequencies. And consider The Elevenfold Path from friend, Pamela Horton:

It’s March 2nd, 2024; Here’s an original blues song for you today. It’s a story that may be true, or miss-information (my spelling of THAT!), dissing-info, tongue-in-cheek, or truth–you decide! Ha! Apparently, a lot of what we were told that wasn’t true is coming to light now, as Truth. But again, the world’s still here. And in one way or another, we’ve all been fooled. I just want to get back to “Normal”–whatever the hell that was. We’re still eating our ‘prepper’ food for F’s sake.
Now, for some unofficial news
Here’s the sixty-second new music post for 2024, as I consistently push out an original song each day this year. No more media lies! Watch those aliens fall out of the sky. Free Assange! Save your masks. EMPs are still a possibility. Stand with the Truckers. Forget about what’s right or wrong. Take a shot at the human race. I think the news is still squawking about WWIII/Armageddon. UGH
Have fun while it lasts!
A new day dawns while the evil falls. Or so we’ve been told.
We will be watching basketball today and entertaining Richard’s sister and husband–sure glad our family loves us (and visits)! Always a blessing and lots of fun.
Big wheels rollin’ movin’ on
Speaking of truth, now “here’s the fuckin’ news” (to quote Russell):
Screen capture: Email from Russell Brand about the Canadian Truckers Protest (and that it was illegal).
The more I read about the “Canadian Truckers Protest” and the potential impending “US Truckers Protest” in New York, (and the farmers protesting in France), the more I thank my dad, grandfather, uncle, and several cousins for driving a big rig. They were all truckers and damn good at their jobs! I’m proud to be the daughter of a trucker, so there’s that.
Yes, I’m enjoying learning Rumble. I only follow a few people on that platform though, because Russell Brand is my favorite. Am I drawn to bad boys? Hahaha! Maybe. But I’m older and wise enough to know a snake sheds skin but is still a snake (so I keep my eyes open while walking in tall grass).
I wouldn’t be in a relationship with Donald Trump, Russell Brand, Roseanne, or Bill Maher, but they amuse me and I find the humor in them (and yes, I even admire each a bit)! Why? For starters, I look up to them as teachers of stick-to-it-ness, resilience, and use of their “brass balls,” along with their keen ability to keep on truckin’ no matter what the MSM throws at them.
If you have an issue with this, I invite you to meditate for 30 seconds on my little video: It’s all frequencies. And consider how we exchange Energy with each other:

It’s March 1st, 2024; Here’s an original traditional country song for you today. It’s a story about young ones playing games and then later, adults playing games again. Great times!
Our big announcement is official!
Here’s the sixty-first new music post for 2024, as I consistently share an original song each day this year. Have you ever played this game with anyone, Rock, Paper, Scissors? I’m so looking forward to playing games like this, board games, and such with our three young granddaughters when we move to New Hampshire by the end of June this year! Yes, it’s now official! That’s our big announcement! We’re leaving Florida and moving to New England (over a thousand miles away)! Woo-hoo! We’re excited about it!
We’re moving north!
A fellow Facebook friend posted the following one day in his Facebook Stories and I grabbed it (I save a LOT of these as screen captures). It spoke volumes to me at a time when I felt low (“down”) about friends who never visited, never invited us anywhere, and so on. I felt like we always had to drive TO see everyone and then NO ONE was there for us after Richard had a stroke (Oct. 2022). I thought once we moved to Ocala and left Bradenton, I could get over it and get on with life, but unfortunately, the friends we moved here to see have not visited either. So, I give up.
We are thankful that Richard’s sister and her husband have visited us, and two of our friends we’d not seen in decades. So, there’s that. We sincerely appreciate that they chose to take the time to visit us here in Ocala, FL!
It’s time for us to make the move
After Richard had the stroke, my daughter had mentioned several times that perhaps it was time for us to leave Florida. She genuinely wanted to come and help us, but she has three young daughters, a job, and a husband who works too. They are also landlords. To say they have a LOT going on would be an understatement. My daughter has a LOT to juggle. Thus, I know we were on her mind, especially when her brother, my son, left Florida and moved to North Carolina.
When my son left Florida, I felt so alone here. I mean, we used to have friends we thought cared for us–we certainly cared for them. And I don’t want to be bitter. Some of our friends have passed away in the last few years too. So, I just don’t feel there’s anyone left here to help us as we get older. And my daughter wants to help us.
Meme: “In life, friendships change, divorces happen, people move on, others die. By Les Brown; Life Learned Feelings
The more I walk my talk and work on my Integrating the Spirals processes, tips, and tricks, the more I understand why people have shied away from us. They are busy in their own lives and we just don’t rate high enough on their list of priorities to try and come and see us. One has tried, but I was sick the day she was going to drive two hours to visit with us–I am hopeful we’ll see her again before we move.
Though I do look back, I’m always reaching for the better feeling thought, as Abraham-Hicks says. I am always working on myself, and am currently taking a class with a Theosophy group of about twelve people. I am grateful for them, otherwise, I’d feel quite left out. As an only child, feeling “left out” was always the worst feeling I had. I would even force myself to sit at the dinner table with my parents and watch them eat whenever I was too sick to eat (as a child). That’s how much “joining in” meant to me as a child. And the community has meant just as much to me as an adult. It must be because my soul has always recognized that, We Are All Connected.
I will sit with my feelings and meditate on the external sounds that I am unattached to. This always helps me heal and balance my mind because it’s all frequencies), and God only knows what others’ motivations are. All I know is, I’ve tried. And as Richard often says, “The road runs both ways.” If we mean that much to our friends and family, they will make the effort to come and see us.
All I can ever do is, mind my own Energy. Just as my t-shirt/mug/sticker design says, Minding My Energy. If I didn’t get down once in a while, I wouldn’t appreciate ALL the times I’m UP! And I’d rather laugh than cry. Wink!
My meme: The planet has ice at both poles. If you want to get warmer, move closer to middle ground. Polarized people are often colder (bitter).
Years ago I had rented a condo on the lake in New Hampshire and invited friends and family to visit. Dad didn’t think he could even make the trip, though he said he would have liked to, and I understood because of all he had to do with caregiving for Mom. But it was the first time in my life that he didn’t visit me in a new place. And cousins who didn’t live that far couldn’t find the time to visit. But one of my coworkers from a few years prior found the time and inclination to visit me there, and she got to meet my granddaughters. I was thrilled! I will never forget her choosing to visit me–it meant the world.
Of course, I was primarily there (for a month in New Hampshire) for my daughter and granddaughters, and I got to see them after work, and on weekends. We had a blast! I also began developing my Integrating the Spirals back then (while staying at the lakeside condo). I couldn’t fully realize that then though. I’d begun bowing to the four directions each day because of a wood plaque that was hung on the living room wall of the condo. The words on that wooden sign fed my soul daily. Later, when we went to Ireland, England, and Scotland on our Sacred Celtic Journey, the seed those words had planted within my psyche and soul resonated with the uplifting and empowering vibrations I experienced at Newgrange, Stonehenge, and with the Yew tree at Rosslyn castle. Aha! Time spent with friends, family, and sacred places matters.
May we all feel freer and soar in ’24! Always planting new seeds and integrating the processes that help me and ALL of us balance and find ease, and JOY!

It’s February 29th, 2024; Here’s a happy and fun, toe-tappin’ country song for you today on this Leap Year extra day! What a great time to “take one day out of life” and improve our thought processes. Or change our perceptions! Now, even if you don’t feel like it, smile big and see if this song doesn’t lift your spirits. Then let us know in the comments.
Toe tappin’
Here’s the sixtieth new music post for 2024, as I consistently offer an original song each day this year. Pickin’ his guitar more and more, this guy is a boot-stompin’ cowboy. He loves the ladies and he’s pickin’ and a grinnin’, as happy as he can be. When was the last time you were this happy?
It’s a timely philosophy
A fellow blogger mentioned how positive I always seem to be. And that was an uplifting comment to read! I tend to find the ebb and flow of life. I do look for the silver lining when things seem cloudy, or look to the bright and light side, to begin with. But if circumstances turn downward, I’m human and though I don’t want to be “down,” it happens.
Perception management for Very Advanced Souls advice from TUT
The more I walk my own talk though, and work on my Integrating the Spirals processes, tips, and tricks, the more I can regain my cheery disposition. I’m always reaching for the better feeling thought, as Abraham-Hicks says. And I am always working on myself, investing time (and money), to improve my outlook, which I think improves mental health. I agree with TUT that advanced souls are always on the lookout to improve their perceptions.
I love music (and believe in sound healing because it’s all frequencies), and we’ve invested heavily in it to be sure, as this is one way for us to “be happy” and attempt to spread cheer to others. Albeit, a lot of Richard’s lyrics are simply observations on life, thus, there are some sad songs too.
Even after a sad song, we could say, “Cheer up, dear soul, it’ll be okay.” as TUT says.
Remember that t-shirt design I did a few years ago? It follows along with this line of thought. It’s called, Minding My Energy.
May we all feel freer and soar in ’24! And here’s to keeping the beat in our lives by integrating processes that bring us more calm, ease, and JOY!

It’s February 28th, 2024; Here’s a female pop song for you today. It’s one of my favorites! I rehearsed this song back in 2009 when we thought we’d play out Live, but it never happened–Richard and I were too busy working. Maybe I’ll record a version of it (a short video) for TikTok and Rumble. Let me know if you would like to see that.
One of these nights
Here’s the fifty-ninth new music post for 2024, as I consistently push out an original song each day. Initially, this song reminded me of The Eagles, One of These Nights. But you’ll see, it’s completely different. It’s a genderless song, though we’ve always chosen to have a female sing it.
Why step out?
In the song, she asks her love, “Why do you need to go out”? I’ve often wondered about husbands or wives who feel they’ve got to step out on their spouse.
And yes, fantasizing about another isn’t much different than the actual stepping out. Why? Because it’s the INTENTION that counts in the end.
Same song, earlier video with lyrics
One of these nights, Richard Murrey
I often think it’s those of us who are soft-hearted that get hurt the most, or rather, ALLOW ourselves to be hurt, because we put blinders on and don’t see people for who they are.

It’s February 27th, 2024; Yep, the free birds are back! The free birds of paradise that is. We’ve got a hard rock song for you today! Get ready to do some head-bangin’ (if that’s still a thing). Haha! Richard wrote this new song and sent it to friend and singer/guitarist, Tim Chandler from Bradenton, Florida! So, we’ve got a new sound for you with Tim’s great vocals. Let us know what you think.
Tribute to the famous Southern rock band
Here’s the fifty-eighth new music post for 2024, as I consistently push out an original song each day. This song is Richard’s tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, the American Southern rock band that hailed from Jacksonville, Florida.
I love what Richard did lyrically on this song, including so many of Skynyrd’s song titles. It serves to remind me just how big Skynyrd was–and how high they climbed the ladder of musical hits and fame. Oh, to ascend to these heights! Free bird! Once again.
Flights and sweet homes
Speaking of free birds and fame, isn’t it amazing the heights some can reach but then not sustain their success? We just watched a video about a great Nashville superstar last night and her abandoned house. Yes, Barbara Mandrell’s mansion, the largest log cabin in the world, has been abandoned for some time. The home is huge with many flights of stairs–even a spiral staircase!
It was sad to me that Barbara and her family only lived in this home for 14 years. It made me wonder what happened to her and how sad she must have been to have something so glorious built and not get to live in it very long.
Spiral thought: It reminded me of how my parents built their dream home and didn’t get to live in it for too many years. But that’s a whole other story.
Something about leaving
There’s a sadness about leaving something you’ve built by the sweat of one’s brow and breaking of one’s back. My mom never got over the hurt of having to leave the house they built in West Virginia. Here are a couple of photos I took of it with my 35mm camera during the construction.
Leaving sadness behind and leaning into the philosophy of Detachment, is one of the practices I embrace most about Buddhism. And this reminds me of the lyrics of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s song Call Me the Breeze, “I ain’t got me nobody, I don’t carry me no load.”

It’s February 26th, 2024; We’ve got a smooth melody for you today. The deep-feeling lyrics in this original song talk about letting go and the questions for a Higher Power. It’s about a love that will last, eternally. And saying goodbye. As for the mechanics of this song, the music is older, but Richard has written new lyrics and had it produced by a new studio in Nashville, TN.
We’ve all had to let go of someone
Here’s the fifty-seventh new music post for 2024, as I consistently dispense an original song each day. This song is about looking into the mystery of our soul. We’re thankful for all the ones who were here before, the soul deep memories of them live on in our minds. We hold their love close for all time.
I love the idea of our soul as a flame. I love the melody of this song and the flow of it. The new studio did a great job with the vocals and mix of this.
Updated video Oct. 25th, 2024; original song and video by Richard Murrey
Memories
I find it hard to only hang on to the happy memories of past people and events. I tend to hold them all. But perhaps, one day, I will let go of all the sad and hurtful memories and let them wash away as one would wash the leftover food from a dish or clean the skim of coffee or tea from within a cup! It is my desire to let them go, but it’s so hard.
Soul
I’ve sat with my soul all of my life. In fact, I view my soul as the inside of a cup or chalice. And I feel it’s the larger part of me that opens and interacts with the external world, but is rarely if ever seen by others.

It’s February 25th, 2024; We’ve got a country ballad for you in this original song. The touching and heartfelt lyrics in this song give the female space to tell her tale. It makes us glad our parents stayed with each other–through the ups and downs. Fun for us to sit and reminisce. Today’s our 19th wedding anniversary and both, Richard and I are simply happy to walk to breakfast and enjoy a light meal. No cards. No flowers. No gifts. We’ve peeled it all back to just enjoying our time together. Simple living. Of course, our breakfast out is a treat, so there’s that. Wink!
Wiping the sleep from her eyes
Here’s the fifty-sixth new music post for 2024, as I consistently share one of our original songs each day. This is an older Richard Murrey original song (written prior to me) that portrays a scene of a woman’s man leaving her with a little one, whether for the night or longer. He packed his guitar and toothbrush. The child asked, “Mama, is Daddy still your man?”
I love the different tones of the guitars in this song. For me, that’s the hook. And as I listen, memories flood in.
Gagged on her coffee
She spits out her Jimmy Dean (breakfast sausage). She never thought he’d leave. And now, she’s got a kid in tow. Thanks. Thanks a lot! Been there; lived that. And it’s not an easy life. Oh, the questions left for a child after a parent’s split. UGH
The bridge of this song always makes me smile. Something about those tones. And the space needed to process. By the end of the song, we hear that the guy has found some success. The reference to the truck driver brought a smile to my face.
Happy to have had the good times
My dad, grandfather, and uncle were truck drivers. So, I found this old picture of my daddy holding me up to a mirror. Here’s my ‘hats off’ to the dads that stay. Dad used to take some long truck runs but decided pretty early on to drive a city truck so he could be home more with us–though he was a ramblin’ man too.
Always loved this picture of my daddy holding me
May we all feel freer and soar in ’24! And here’s to keeping the beat in our lives by integrating processes that bring us more calm, ease, and JOY!

It’s February 24th, 2024; We’ve got a fusion of country and rock music for you today in this original song. The smart lyrics in this song help the female empower herself as she moves on (from a relationship). It makes us think about Time and how we spend it.
Tick Tock
Here’s the fifty-fifth new music post for 2024, as I consistently provide you with a new original song each day. It’s an older Richard Murrey original song (written prior to me) that tells the love lost story from the female point of view. Julie Manners sings this from Steven Cooper’s music studio in Nashville, TN. I love the uptempo beat of this song!
Running through the memories of good times together, recalling sweet kisses, and times that will never happen again, are the main ideas in this upbeat song. I do find the balancing going on here, and call that good. It’s mature when we can look back and find the good, isn’t it? I’ll choose to focus on the empowerment in these words.
The beat goes on
So much of what goes on within a country rock song, besides the guitars, is the beat. I’ve heard so many people say they love (or only listen to) the beat of a song–often totally ignoring the lyrics! I know until I met Richard, I had no idea how songs were put together. And I had been a singer since childhood!
By the time I was a teenager and had learned how to write sheet music (from a great high school music teacher), I only wrote down what the time signature (such as 4/4 time) was for a song, but never played it, as I was much more concerned with establishing and writing down the melody. The time was important of course, to know how long to hold a quarter, half, or whole note while singing. I remember enjoying dreaming up melodies and writing them down, but only for my singing–I didn’t even play an instrument! I did visualize myself conducting an orchestra many times though.
While growing up, I listened to a lot of music–early on falling in love with classical music from having studied ballet. I also loved groups who incorporated vocal harmonies. And by the time I was a young teen, I’d found Queen and Styx and loved both bands! Of course, I grew up on The Beatles, and great groups like The Mamas & the Papas. But it was Mom who taught me how to harmonize when we sang together in church. Oh, and my maternal grandmother and mom’s sister, sang with us in church too!
I tried the guitar but never had the finger strength, reach, or dexterity to master it. Maybe I gave up too soon, But, even living with Richard for more than 20 years, I still am not interested in learning guitar. I sure have loved being around him while he played though, as I have always loved music. Come to think of it, my Mom and Dad loved music too! A stereo was their first major purchase when they got married! And like me, Mom was a singer, but never a musician–nor was Dad.
Speaking of parents, Richard’s Dad played the guitar a bit (but never sang) and his twin brothers both play guitar–though I’ve never heard them sing either. Richard’s sister sings though and has a good vocal tone as I recall. I guess Kentucky does produce a lot of artists! Nod to fellow blogger, Gray Summers, and our recent comment conversation regarding Johnny Depp and that Kentucky genetics must produce good artists.
Let me be brief
What did you think of Richard’s music ad in yesterday’s post? Let me leave it in today’s article as well (in case you missed it):

It’s February 23rd, 2024; Here’s an original song in the rock and blues music genre. The lyrics are tongue-in-cheek about aging. It talks about some of the ways in which we reach for items to help us feel better as we begin to feel the effects of aging. It’s a fun romp and hope you enjoy it.
The more fun we can have, the better!
Here’s the fifty-fourth new music post for 2024, as I consistently provide you with a new original song each day. This is one of my favorite Richard Murrey original songs because of the rock and blues influence, beat, and lyrics that help us think lighter and feel better about growing old. Maybe I enjoy this because I still feel relatively good at 62. Of course, I just did a blog post (and video on Facebook) about my stiff joints (fingers and knees) and how I resolved those issues. But nonetheless, compared to some other folks around my age, I feel I’m doing pretty good!
Guitar riffs
What do you think about the guitar riffs in this song? To your ear, is it more rock than blues? Music is subjective and we know each of you will enjoy this song (or not) for different reasons. But we’d love to hear what you think of it. Does it help you not feel so ‘over the hill’?
As well, we’d love to hear how you buy and consume music these days. We’ve been giving out some CDs and folks have told us they prefer plugging in a USB thumb drive (or flash drive) into their TV or computer to play music. So, Richard put together an ad for his songs. As a graphics artist, he designed this ad and all of the CD covers shown in it (and you also see these on the YouTube videos I’m sharing each day). But we don’t know if the ad lands well, as few have emailed Richard. Perhaps we need a ‘buy now’ button? What do you think?

It’s February 22nd, 2024; Here’s an original song, yes, a ‘cry-in-your-beer’ song, written by my husband, Richard Murrey, and sung by a male professional singer in a Nashville, TN music production studio. This is a traditional country song with a steel guitar to boot!
Broken heart finds a honky tonk bar
Here’s the fifty-third new music post for 2024, as I consistently offer one of our original songs each day. This song asks if sitting at a honky tonk bar can help or hurt him–if he can find a new love or if a honky tonk angel will break his heart too (as apparently, the last love did). He asks why his broken heart always finds a honky tonk.
Steel guitar
Many years ago my Mom told me that her parents (my grandparents) used to play steel guitar. I remember that even as a child, I had wished they had recorded their songs. I would ponder how often they played steel guitar. Did they only play the steel guitars at church? Did they ever record any original songs? And I think because I always wondered about this (Mom said her Mom and Dad had quit playing steel guitars before they had children) and didn’t even speak of it often, that’s what has propelled me to write blog articles and books–and record original songs with Richard. Find the link in the About Us section near the end of this article if you want to see us performing a song.
To this day, I think steel guitar is one of the main reasons I can listen and enjoy Country Music! Though I love the spoons too, so there’s that.
Consider your options
This original country song might propel you to go to a bar and drink your sorrows away, though I don’t recommend it. Consider your options. There’s so much more to life than drinking alcohol.
During The Year of the Dragon, I offer you the following 12 reminders (picked up from a friend on Facebook) that offer you some options for pulling yourself together (rather than visiting your local honky tonk):
