April 16th – High on toad (day after paying taxes)

It’s April 16th, 2024; Here’s an original hard-driving rock song to help you smile today. This particular original rock song got The Righteous Buds a whole lot of applause when they played it Live (around Brevard County Florida in the mid-2000s). It seemed quite the appropriate song to talk about here on the day after ‘Tax Day’ in the USA. Suffering taxpayers might find a bit of relief listening to this rock song.

Fun fact: High on Toad was one of my son’s girlfriends’ favorite songs! She’d sing it around the house when she visited us.

Too broke for booze?

Here’s the one-hundred-seventh new music post for 2024, as I consistently find an original song of ours that will expand your consciousness, put a gleam in your eye, or smile on your face! Ha! Get high lickin’ a toad! I never knew anything about such things until I met Richard, so I think it applies to my overall theme in this blog about ‘raising consciousness’. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Between paying our taxes the other day and preparing to move, we’re too broke for booze. Not sure the right kind of toad lives in Florida though, for us to use as a substitute. Ha!

Different highs

I know there are all kinds of ‘highs’ and we get high on music for the most part, though a good Pinot Noir, Malbec, or sake works for us too. And now I also have my CBD gummies to help me sleep, so there’s that.

I’m sure glad I took the time to visit friends during all the years we have lived in Florida. We’ll miss them. But we will look back on our Florida years with gratitude. And we’re very thankful to have lived our dreams here in the Sunshine State. The countdown is on! We move in TWO WEEKS!

April 15th – F.Y.I. love you

It’s April 15th, 2024; Here’s an original jazzy rock love song. This is a love song with punches from the saxophone from John Heinrich to add flair and interest, vocals by Bubba Hudson, and all sweetly mixed in Steven Cooper’s Nashville, TN music studio. This is a fun song that puts the singer (as the ‘I’) into the acronym F.Y.I. while singing to extend his love to the listener.

F.Y.I.

Here’s the one-hundred-sixth new music post for 2024, as I consistently pull an original song from Richard’s library of originally penned rock, country, blues, and Christian songs. Fun fact F.Y.I. (as in For Your Information), the music behind this song is also the soundtrack to another one of our songs, the one I wrote the lyrics to called, First Friends.

While listening to this song, I was taken back to a time in my life when I began meditating upon the word, Love, and uncovering truths I felt Jesus was trying to teach us, like how to love ourselves by shaking the dust off the bottom of our shoes after visiting with people who do not want to listen to what we have to offer.

Love can mean different things

A lot of my writing comes from chats I have with folks on social media. Some of my comments may sound harsh or brass when read out of context, but I offer screen captures of my words in the hopes that my take on certain subjects may help others.
