The fences (rules) of the religions of the world are somewhat similar. Have you noticed that?
Defining the rules
By definition, the rules of religion are the dogma, doctrine, or set of beliefs taught by a religious entity, whether that be a denomination, or sect. Of course, political parties, institutions of higher education, civic organizations and others can have dogmatic rules of order too, but for purposes of this discussion, I’ll limit my scope to faith oriented groups.
The rules of engagement can be based on written texts, such as the Holy Bible, of which exist a variety of translations and versions, but also taught by example. Before written texts, the rules were passed down through repetitive stories.
If you attend a synagogue, mosque, or church, you by no doubt, know there are many rules you should follow–whether you believe in all of them or not.
Walled church
Short version: Fences (rules) are restricting.
Is it any wonder that we are so divided?
I believe we’ve been restricted (and segregated) for far too long. It is time to think deeper, broader.
When I think of God, I’m referring to LIMITLESS Omniscience. I use the name “God” in this article as it is the most widely known name to represent the Highest Sacred diety, Creator, or Source.
Every religion seems to define God differently. Some, even say that God is the personage of Jesus–and then go about portraying Jesus in different ways. Even with all the variety of beliefs, I stand by the fact that We Are All Connected. And I feel people (with or without faith) have more in common than we realize.
To me, the point is that each of us should be a living testimony of God because we are a fractal of Omniscience. Taking care of our body temple, aligning with our soul, mastering our mind, thoughts, heart, emotions, and impulses. The Kingdom of God is in our own hands. Omniscience looks upon our heart and sees our intentions.
My intention by writing this article is to open the eyes of some, and provide you with a broader understanding of your neighbor. You know, the one you’ve been taught to Love.
The long version:
Thus, here are the GENERAL RULES (noting if applicable to specific religions) I discovered that can keep followers fenced in (like a herd of sheep) to a particular faith.
Defining God. Speaking of God, who is God? The organization will tell you, in fact, preach to you, about their idea of who and what God is and if there’s only one, or many. Who are WE to attempt to define God? How presumptuous of us mere humans!
Defining Heaven. Everything about what Heaven is and how to get in is taught to you via your religion. There are rules specific to that, which are primarily the rules of the religious organization, because that’s the goal of most organized religions.
Holy Book. Almost every organized religion or faith, has a Holy book, whether it be a Bible, Book of Morman, Doctrine & Covenants, Qur’an, Hadith, Torah (Pentateuch), Tanach, Mishnah, Talmud and Midrash, Upanishads, Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Tao Te Ching, Sutras, Tripitaka, or other. There are many Holy books, yet most people are only aware of a fraction of these, much less have they bothered to read from any of them. And then, within these books, there are hundreds of various translations.
Remember that pretend phone game most of us learned in elementary school where each would whisper a word in the child’s ear next to you? By the time the word was passed around the circle, the word at the end was totally different than the word spoken in the beginning! It’s kind of like that when it comes to gaining any kind of understanding of God from one version of one book. And books can divide, especially when one group says their book describes the ONLY way to God and Heaven.
Know the “Word of God.” Whatever scripture the religion uses, you’d better read it, know it, memorize it and such, so you’ll not be tempted to go in any other direction. And only read the specific translation the faith deems “true.” Far be it from you to read any other scripture, indeed your religion will likely tell you that any other spiritual type of work is devilish.
Beliefs. Do good things. Follow the commands. And if you don’t, confess your sins to someone else and ask God to forgive you. God forbid you do anything wrong = sin. And saying there’s no God (blasphemy), well, that will land you right in some eternal burning lake of fire. Eeks!
Fellowship. It feels good to congregate with people of like-mind. And they want to keep you thinking the same way. If you think or speak outside of the box, you’ll receive everything from a discouraging look to a stern lecture. Of course each congregation tends to segregate and limit who can attend.
Membership. Following attendance, but with stricter rules, is membership. Once you’ve been attending for awhile you are invited to become a privileged “member.” And once invited, you had better become a member, else, be damned. Once a member, never question your membership or you run the high risk of being booted out, ostracized, banished, or worse. Some faiths go so far as to ever let you see your family again, as is the case with the Amish and Scientologists.
Money. To keep the faith going, build and maintain churches, pay the clergy, and so on, members are highly encouraged to donate 10 percent (or some certain set percentage) of money in tithes to the organization. And unless you serve on the budget committee, you are never to question where the money goes.
Recruit. The religion must grow and keep their numbers up–to keep the money flowing in and the morale up. By keeping morale high, it sets the organization up for boasting that their God is bigger than another organization’s God.
Conversely, though the religion wants to grow, many will limit who can join. This is limiting, restrictive, and such a paradox!
Symbology. Some might call these statues, icons, idols, monuments, totems, or other types of engraved symbols that memorialize and pay tribute to the religion. There are caves, paintings, geometric designs (circles, spirals, wheels, and crosses) roads, hills, alters, man made items (rugs, mats, knives, beads, stained glass), celestial bodies (like the sun, moon, and stars), statues of saints or other revered entities. The list is nearly endless. If you can observe it and draw it, it’s probably associated with some religion.
Rituals. Or not. Being quiet, making certain sounds, singing, dancing, smudging, standing, sitting, or kneeling at prescribed times and places and with a certain goal in mind (to either reach or please God, or the essence of our soul). Placing hands together in prayer pose, kneeling on one or both knees, or using prayer beads (Catholics), or prayer rugs or mats (Muslims). And of course, the rituals of blessings, baptisms, and confessing one to another or to a priest (someone who’s supposed to be living a righteous life).
Prayer. Some sort of memorized prayers, or rites and methods are often taught. Along with the previous ritual involved in praying, whether it be how to pray, when to pray (at a certain time of day or night), kneeling, standing, or lying flat on the ground. In the Islamic religion prayers are directional–always toward Mecca.
Thoughts. Speaking of prayer, we are not only taught to pray, but what words make up a good prayer. We are always asking for something. Usually for ourselves more than for others, but of course, praying for a better situation for others is supposed to be the best prayers, as what we ask God to do for others, God will also do for us.
Meditation. Most Western religions do not allow meditation, either in church or outside of it. (Unity based organizations allow and encourage meditation.) Sometimes an organization will use the term meditation, but it’s use is defined by meditating on a particular scripture passage (Christian) or mantra (Hinduism). We wouldn’t want you falling into a deep mental abyss.
Clothing. Every organized religions loves to set a standard dress code, whether by written rule or by peer pressure. Each member promotes the standard to visitors begin to conform over time. Naturally, (cough) God deserves to see us in our best attire. And for the ladies, modest attire–typically a dress that covers most of the body. Some prescribe head coverings.
Buildings. The members typically always meet in a building, whether it be a church, synagogue, temple, spiritual center, ashram, or other. This almost always involves meeting in a building that someone will need to pay for, and maintain, which leads members to believe that donations and tithes must be given without question.
Security. Lock it up. Protect it. Only go to the religious building when it’s open. And be on time. The building is there for groups, not for individuals or families to take shelter during a crisis. Their insurance rates would go up. This is perhaps one of the most ludicrous reasons for NOT believing that worshippers need an assembly building in which to meet. Talk about FAITH! Oh, ye of little faith! Do you not remember that EVERYTHING belongs to God?Defend it. Similar to Security, Membership, and Recruitment, followers of various religions typically feel the need to defend the belief. Why? Will the dogma of the faith fall apart without people ready and willing to sacrifice all to defend it?
Timing. This rule goes hand in hand with rituals and having to go into buildings. Don’t go in or out, stay seated until you are directed to stand or kneel, and exit at the end of the service in an orderly fashion.
Children. This could also come under the heading of Behavior. Don’t allow your children to be disruptive during any assembly meeting. Children must obey their parents and guardians.
Joy. Don’t smile too much, or be too happy. Serving God is serious business. Someone might think you’re up to something if you’re always joyful.
Curiousity. Don’t bother asking any tough spiritual questions. And never talk down, back to, or get uppity with any member of the clergy.
Adherence. Be sure to follow all of the rules to the best of your ability, never mind what the preacher, priest, or other leader is doing (pay no attention to the man behind the curtain). All religions teach some sort of “right action.”
Needs. Look how far down the list we find “needs.” Is it any wonder so many of us have a hard time when it comes to “receiving”?
When you need help (for a health, spiritual, family, relationship, or financial matter) call the clergy.
Do you do that? If not, why not?
Don’t you believe that they’ll be there for you? Isn’t that one of their primary duties, beside getting to know who God is, studying, and healing people? The clergy is supposed to be there for you in your time of need. They exist in these roles to pray with you, instruct, and guide you in right action. They’re supposed to visit with you in your home if need be. They’re even supposed to offer you monetary support when you need it (though it’s likely they won’t pay your bills).
Did I miss anything?
I’d like this to be an open dialogue, so please comment of any rules I missed, or rules you feel you should follow that I haven’t mentioned.
As I’ve written before, an Omniscient LIMITLESS God, Creator, Source Energy can never be fully understood as that would be like trying to see every glint of sun on every wave in the ocean, and more—all at the same time.
I believe for every question there is an answer, but that those answers will not cover every question because there are limitless scenarios in which one could ask the same question, thus putting a different spin on the answer.
Christians believe Jesus will return, but then they don’t believe in reincarnation. And that sounds like a logic problem to me.
NOTE: I credit my beloved mother with the phrase, “fences of religion.” How can that be? Well, I woke up early the morning of Oct. 25th, 2018, after a dream I’d had of my mother (who’s part of the Grand Beyond). In the dream, mom inspired me (and has prodded me a few times since) to write this blog article. We’re all part of Omniscience, believe it or not. Omniscience isn’t a belief to me, it’s a knowing. And the more I connect and align to the essence of my soul, the more I feel the “realness” of that knowing. OM
Tear down the fences and love one another right now. ❤️🦋🌀
We Are All Connected. OM
Many blessings to you in ALL ways.

I was completely unnerved!
As a highly sensitive person (HSP) I wanted to stay with my friend at an outdoor cafe and enjoy our visit, but a roaring motorcycle went by and the noise overwhelmed me!
I lost touch with the truth of who I am. I got rattled. I almost picked up my stuff and left, as I was quite literally… BESIDE MYSELF!
Beside myself
A fuller version of the story:
I had arrived 10 minutes early to Ionie’s cafe in Sarasota, Florida on a beautiful Saturday afternoon (Jan. 17th, 2015)– a week after my birthday.
A dear friend and I had previously agreed (earlier that same day) to meet at 1pm there and though she is usually early, she wasn’t on this particular day. I don’t state this to judge, only to establish a precursor to my story.
The last time we had met there, we sat outside and I was prepared to sit outside, but when I arrived I noticed that both outdoor deck tables were full so, I proceeded inside to find a table. It was a fairly busy time there.
My friend arrived a few minutes after 1 (I did not note the exact time because I had been relaxing, listening to the peaceful music and drinking a beet juice drink and water).
As she arrived, we said hello and hugged briefly and she asked if we could sit outside. I told her the tables were full and she said, she’d seen an empty one on the way in (possibly so, things change of course). I said “There wasn’t one available when I came in”, and that I preferred to stay inside (I don’t know why, perhaps because I’d become comfortable). Having none of that however, my friend went back outside to hold the table and asked our server, if we could move my things out there.
I gave in (another precursor) and just as I sat down outside a VERY loud motorcycle went by and I proclaimed that it was the reason I did not want to sit there. She said, “We sat out here the last time”, and I should have said, “Yes, and I didn’t like it” and “since we sat outside before, let’s try inside today.” After all, I had invited her to join me – as I had been there several times by myself. But, I didn’t. I allowed myself to be manipulated, after all, I love change and am flexible to the desire of others (many times to my detriment though)!
Lessons learned
At any rate, the point of this writing this now is my logical attempt to put words around the experience of the FEELING that overtook me. When that motorcycle went by, I felt as though I was going to come OUT of my skin!! My entire nervous system shook. My hands and legs trembled. I went back inside of the cafe to reclaim the previous table with thoughts in my mind of leaving. But I wanted to preserve the friendship and felt if I reacted in a dramatic way, I might rock the boat. As well, I have written book chapters about “Connections” and “Being open to receive” so I opted within my mind to find a way to overcome my reaction, noting to mySelf in that moment that I may be overreacting.
How it ended
My friend had came back in and tried to reassure me that they had another table out to the side of the building (not on the street) where we could move the chairs from the other outdoor deck table in order to sit in a quieter spot. Thus, compromising (or giving in), we sat under a tree by the parking lot. It was a bit easier on my senses.
I awkwardly explained to her that I needed to calm myself. I sat utterly quiet. I repositioned my chair, made my body comfortable, and breathed for about the count of ten.
After settling in to the new outdoor spot, the conversation we had over the course of 2 hours, was very beautiful, engaging, and I even expressed to her how I was learning to handle events like what had just happened. I had felt my central nervous system was burned out, as I worked in another town (at that time) and had to wear headphones most everyday because of the city and office noise.
An emergency vehicle went by at one point and I expressed (in a bit easier way this time) that this also disturbed me. It mostly aggravated me (I put my fingers in my ears while the siren was sounded) because when they turned off the siren, I took my fingers out of my ears, then they immediately sounded the siren again! Ugh!! I rhetorically asked, “Why can’t they just leave it on until they get to wherever it is they’re going”?
When it was time to leave, we exchanged a hug and my friend genuinely thanked me for sitting outside. And in that moment I knew we would not have had our lovely visit if I had left earlier when I was mad over the initial irritation.
What I learned from this experience
Allowing this moment to be as it is and just be aware of it;
I must always reach for the best feeling thought and comfort myself;
Just breathe;
Touch an acupressure point or focus on one and breathe;
I may not always express or articulate my pain or displeasure appropriately, but I can at least let the person know that I need a few moments to center myself.
Later on that day, I recognized my emotional balance and growth. And that at no point in this experience, which I called an “assault on my senses” did I cry! Even just a year or so prior, I may have cried during, or after the experience, or when I would later recount the story to my husband. Hmmm… change is GOOD!
The next day I found this beautiful interview:

The lotus grow out of mud – you cannot grow a lotus on marble but in mud.
Suffering is mud to grow the flower of understanding and Love.
Meditate in every moment
Live in the here and now
Recite a mantra or not
The more people you sit with, the better for collective energy
I offer you the following FOUR mantras you can meditate with:
1) “Darling, I’m here for you”
How can you love if you aren’t there? You are not preoccupied with the past or future.
2) “Darling, I know you are there”
Use this to recognize the existence of the other person.
when your beloved one suffers use the third mantra:
3) “Darling, I know you suffer that is why I am here for you”
Simply your presence can give someone a lift.
Lastly, when you suffer and you believe your suffering has been caused by your beloved one – use the fourth mantra:
4) “Darling, I suffer. I am trying my best to practice Love, please help me.”
❤️🦋🌀
It seems simple.
This is also quite a beautiful lesson:

On a deeper level, what really happened?
I learned that I am my perceptions. I learned what the true nature of “I” is.
Listening.
Perceiving.
Observing.
With Attention.
The real me is the “I” that is underneath all of the circumstances of my life.
In the moment of non-thinking is Attention.
Timeless, untouched by time. I before it becomes this or that. Just “I”.
My first guru of the Eastern arts and teacher, Ram Giri Braun, taught me this wonderful mantra in 2008:
“I am loving awareness.”
He said this is not for the mind, this is from Ram Dass. It is not meant to make sense. It’s about feeling something. Get in touch with YOU. Get in touch with the lovable YOU that’s inside of you.
Ram Giri taught me Open Attention and HeartSourcing.
You can learn about that too, here.
On Jan. 31st, 2015 I took a class at Suncoast Jin Shin Jyutsu with Michelle Giambra in Sarasota, FL. At the beginning of the class Michelle stated that, “Synchronicities abound.” And then another lady in the class said, “We love the synchronicities that abound here”! Beautiful!
Note: The first four letters in Michelle’s last name are, “G-I-A-M” like the online TV channel I love GIAM, that later changed their name to GAIA: https://www.gaia.com )
I learned there are ways to hold my body that will calm me, ease tension, and anxiety! Break-throughs!!

More and more each day, I am finding the truths embedded in the ancient Chinese wisdom that Lama Nicholas Packard shared with me recently. And that our health is directly attributed to our thoughts, beliefs, and actions.
Finding truths
If I want to be well and healthy, I must strike a balance between my true nature, which I can feel the soul-alignment of in my body when I need to make a choice about whatever is going on. Yes, I can justify and rationalize, or choose to push through obstacles, but in the end, it’s how I FEEL that must be my guide. Else, I will suffer. And I do not want to suffer.
At times, I’ve been startled and taken aback by my own reactivity to people’s actions (even those whom I admire / have admired) but also to whom, I FELT a negative reaction–so much so, that I had to break away. This has happened to me before, perhaps my whole life–but I didn’t fully understand until recently.
I am an independentperson
I am such an independent person–who else would write a blog called, Take It Upon Yourself? I bet very few people. And it’s also few that I can work closely with for any long stretch of time. I yearn to feel the resonance of balance.
I am an independent soul on a mission to connect Heaven and Earth by building mutually joyful and healthy relationships. Said another way, I am here as a woman of independent nature, on a mission to connect and heal people. To do this, will require balance. If I can feel negative vibrations, then easily bring them into balance–okay. But if not, depending upon the strength of the negative vibrations, I will need to make a different choice. And I am able to do that happily with gratitude for all I have learned.
In Alignment
Assume for a moment that we’re birds of a feather. Both of us are interested in the same people, and read the same books, but if you believe in the concepts that we “can never get it wrong”, and “there is value in everything”, yet condescend or be critical of a small action (especially for something that goes against core beliefs of mine, such as of Transparency and Sharing), that is going to resonate with me as a distinct, NO. And I will move on and leave the group or partnership.
Examples of alignment
At this particular time, I work on a team with someone whom I agree and align with their knowledge and experience of nutrition, vitamins, and supplements. And while I have learned, and would love to learn more from this person, and I respect her to a point, she can’t seem to be responsible, show up to work, put in honest effort to the project, or contribute to the team. She’s just not a team player.
If I had my druthers and the autonomy to move the person to another team, I would–but I don’t. Unfortunately, if I have to work with this person, the ill feelings (that I allow the disharmony to bring), will make me sick. And I cannot give to others if I am sick. So, though it’s been three years, trust me, the end is near. (Eventually, I left, and a month later, that person was fired.)
I am a patient person, but when enough is enough–I’ll leave. It’s happened before with me, and it will happen again–until I connect with someone, or some team, where I can find and offer Balance.
Moving on
Suffering imbalance is one reason why people leave businesses, relationships, partnerships, and so on. We all must do what feels right, or suffer. I choose what feels right to me, what feels harmonious and loving. Because if I don’t, I’m fighting my true nature. And when we work with split energies, they can tear you apart.
In another example, let’s take the partnership that I accepted based on my ego of being needed and honored. One might think the partnership was a good thing, right? Yet, we mutually ended it–mostly because I allowed my ego to be offended.
Everyone has an ego, whether large or small. One with a large ego would be best served to learn how to communicate with their staff. If you’re a manager and can’t communicate properly, you should not be a manager. Period. A primary facet of Management IS communication.
Experientially learning all of this, I now realize that I will never be balanced, or feel successful in my mission to connect people, until I can find a team to work with who will allow me to bring out the best in them, for the good of the cause, and shine my eternal soul light.
Now, just what brought about all of this newfound enlightenment?
Meet Lama Nicholas Packard…
A few weeks ago, I had the profound JOY of receiving a one-on-one healing session with Lama Nicholas Packard–who has recently come to visit our conscious St Petersburg, Florida community after living in India and China for over 30 years!
I made the appointment with Lama Nicholas for holistic health career guidance, as well as some intermittent pain in the body.
I have been meditating daily since Oct. 2015, and observing my thoughts. I’ve been feeling that my current work is not in alignment with my soul’s purpose. One could also say that I’ve become disillusioned and apathetic.
I can no longer work for certain companies, and I’ve recently began expressing this fact to recruiters when they call me. I do not mince words. I do not align with companies who make, or even indirectly support companies who make products that injure people.
This stance puts me out of working for any company that creates man-made chemical products. If you are part of a company whose products harm people, do not call me. I have to draw the line in the sand.
I learned from Lama Nicholas that he believes Artificiality is killing us. And I agree. Obviously, there are natural things that can harm us also, but for us to go out of our way to develop things that harm–that’s insane.
Signs
Right from the beginning of our session, as we began talking, a little finch bird came near to me, hiding under the table next to me. Was it there to let me know it was safe to express what makes my heart sing?
Lama Nicholas first showed me my birth and life path based on a Chinese numerology system. My birthdate equals a 1, which makes me an independent type. And oh my, can I affirm this is true! Looking back over my life, I can see that as a sure pattern in me, as well as the fact that I write this blog. I don’t always need to be right, but I need to be heard!
Life path
I learned that my life path is a number 2. That means I seek Connection. And that building relationships, even so far as connecting Heaven to Earth, is my mission and purpose! Is it any wonder that I was given the message, “We Are All Connected” many years ago?
And yes, sometimes to build, one must know when to disconnect. Pruning a bush allows for more growth. So again, I am to seek balance in this quest as I move forward.
More signs
A beautifully tall, white egret walked up to us; it actually seemed to look me in the eye for a moment! The egret brought me comfort in this new experience and reminded me that I was still grounded to nature–though we were in the city, we were only a couple of blocks from the Gulf of Mexico. I also took this to mean that my meeting with Lama Nicholas would open me to even deeper knowledge of myself.
The challenge
Do you sense the dichotomy though? A strong willed independent woman, who must connect with others to build relationships and usher Heaven to Earth? Wow!!!! I will need help!
The funny thing is, I’ve never been good at asking for help!
Only since my daughter gave birth to my granddaughter, have I learned along with her–to verbally ask for “a little help, please“–as it’s just not something that seems natural to me to do!
As for the Chinese animal that my birth year aligns to, I am on the cusp of the pig, and the tiger. The negative side of the pig means that I would feel a lot of fear (which I don’t), and the tiger signifies frustration. Bingo! I am very frustrated currently. Unfortunately, 30, 40, or 50 years of frustration can lead to Cancer!
Yet, the positive side of the tiger is that I am unstoppable! Yay!
A healer
Lama Nicholas told me that I also have a master number of 11, which means I am a healer. In addition:
I am called to a BIG mission
I can use the tigers’ determination + my independent spirit to bridge communities (spiritual communities perhaps?)
I will joyously work to connect Heaven to Earth
To facilitate teamwork by cooperation and balance, not to “win” as an entrepreneur
As to why I feel so much frustration at work: I need structure and am committed to working in a dynamic team–and one person on our team is arrogantly independent and adamantly refuses to work on our team, or even show up to work during core hours!
I now realize that I seek to assist others in their own healing journey as my life’s mission. And that using my hands to write, and heal others, will be key to my purpose.
The healing
After Lama Nicholas and I finished our conversation about life mission and purpose, we moved to two chairs facing each other for the physical healing part of the session to occur. I will add here though, that I really think the healing work began in and through me days before our actual meeting.
Since I had complained of an errant pain on the left side of my body, Lama Nicholas picked up and held my left leg and foot and pressed (not pinched or squeezed) but pressed with his fingers on the side of the fourth toe. I writhed in my chair with every muscle in my body tensing! It was very painful for a few seconds, but it eased quickly. I felt lightheaded and began to breathe deeply. Lama Nicholas gave me a cup of water and talked about what had happened so my mind could grasp it.
The toes are end points of meridians. And the fourth toe is the end point of the gallbladder meridian. Now, I didn’t know that I was having any gallbladder issues, but Lama did!! Note: my grandfather died of gallbladder cancer.
Next, we moved to the little toe! It hurt too, but not as bad, though my face was wincing and I was still tensing as if struggling to get away. The little toe is the end of the kidney meridian. I feel that I don’t have to explain to you what the meridians are. If you don’t know, you can Google that.
Looking back on the experience, I was surprised that I didn’t cry, cuss, scream, or such. Just tensed up and had a strong desire to pull away. To me, this also seems indicative of how I’ve reacted to other painful events in my past. A sort of quiet inward suffering, though usually with tears. I have never been a fighter or aggressive type.
Qi
One of the biggest things Lama Nicholas taught me how to do was how to bring in and cultivate Qi in the body.
Lama showed me the proper way to hold my hands together over my belly button (Dantian) while breathing deeply through the nose–holding my inhale to a count of 3 or 5 with my belly pushing outward and into my hands. Then, exhaling and pulling my belly button in towards my spine as far as I could manage and holding the exhalation to a count of 3 or 5.
Lama told me to visualize the in breath, as if it were coming into my belly, and the exhale coming out of my hands! Eventually, I made a big circle with my hands to push the Qi down on the exhale. Just this lesson alone was amazing!
Lama worked on my left arm and showed me how working the lung meridian made my tears flow–I had no idea why I began crying as he pressed points on my arm on one side, then conversely I laughed as he pressed the heart meridian points on the other side of the arm!
Feeling fantastic after the experience is an understatement. I kept saying, “Wow, Wow, Wow” after we completed the session. Amazing!
Resonance
Though I am primarily an analytical thinker, you might like to know how I feel about this healing experience from my heart (or emotional intelligence).
Intuitively, I fully resonated with the information that came from Lama Nicholas and the numerology of why I was born into this lifetime, and why–up to this point–life has seemed to be a struggle.
Energy
Energetically, I felt motivated and driven to succeed in the living of my unique purpose to build new relationships, and strengthen the relationships with those already in my life. To move from the sidelines and out onto the playing field of life, to use a sports analogy.

New insights have come, such as the knowing that writing does fulfill my purpose, but so does art, working with clay, applying essential oils to people’s hands and feet, and so forth.
Words of my mother
My mother always called me her “miracle baby” because I was the only one that lived out of six pregnancies. I believe her now because through me, all of my mom’s six babies are on the planet. Had any of my choices, or those of my daughter been any different that might not have been so. Gratefully, all things work in harmony and order in this Universe. I see that now.
Takeaways
This healing experience affected me mentally, by charging me up and giving me a zest for life, spiritually, by connecting me to the Divine and knowing Qi connects us all, and physically, by moving stagnant energies in my body and propelling me to learn more about Qigong, perhaps even one day teach, Qigong/Tai Chi!
I now know my purpose is to connect people and bring or connect heaven to earth. I chose a big mission, before my birth, for this lifetime and with tiger’s determination, I know I can do it.
I know that I was not born to be an entrepreneur, because of my #2 life path, which means I seek balance. I need a partner who is a #2. I know how to make money, be an excellent partner, and develop enthusiastic teams, so I am ready!
My morning and nighttime routines now include Qigong. I have been doing the deep breathing before sleep each night, just as Lama suggested. I am experiencing a dramatic shift in my thinking each day and noticing that habits are changing.
Intuitively, I took a picture of myself before the healing session, and I just took one this morning. I look much happier!
Life changed
I know my life has dramatically been altered by meeting Lama Nicholas. I feel more energy, look and feel happier, and I am emphatically motivated to move into my life’s purpose without fear or hesitancy. And as before, I will be as water, always seeking balance–but now I understand why.
Another output from my healing session with Lama Nicholas was that I signed up to become certified at reflexology, something that a friend had suggested I try (years ago), but only now makes perfect sense to do!
Stay tuned for my next article about Qigong. You see, after taking my first two Qigong/Tai Chi classes with Grand Master Lama Nicholas, I signed up for more and believe that Qigong will become a daily practice for the rest of my life.

If you feel as though you might be reaching the end of your rope, please reach out to someone! Do not give up hope! Don’t end it all. It might feel hopeless to you in this moment, but please talk with someone — anyone! Maybe, consider talking with someone new!
Reaching the end of your rope?
A coworker takes her own life
I once worked with a young lady who committed suicide. I didn’t know her. One morning, after my meditation, a thought dropped into my mind. How sad was it that she ended her life and had never even had one conversation with everyone in our office!
I had seen the young lady around the office. She had even worked with someone sitting right next to me once. I’d passed her in the hall. I’d said hello to her while washing our hands in the ladies room. But, we had never had one conversation. And we had worked for the same company for more than two years.
Introversion
I understand being an introvert. I am naturally introverted. But if you are going to make a conscious choice to end your life, which to me, would require a great deal of courage, wouldn’t you at least work up a little bit of that courage to talk with every person in your office, your neighbors, or someone walking down the street, FIRST?
Something new
What I am really suggesting is that there are untold opportunities to learn something new, experience a new way of looking at your problems, or perhaps, even a new way of living! Why would you want to end it all before even exploring any of those possibilities?
Somewhere, someone cares about you. And even if in this moment you can’t believe that could be true, YOU should care about you. Make a list, even if it’s just a mental list, of all of the things in your life that up to this point you’ve accomplished. Did you successfully get through elementary school, high school, college? Have you ever worked a job? Cared for a pet? Cared for a parent or a child? Have you ever told a joke, or made someone smile? If you could do any of those things, you can hold on for one more day. Give someone new a chance to show you life is worth living!
Tomorrow is another day. No man, woman, thing, or circumstance is worth ending your journey on this beautiful planet. Don’t take your own life!
Choices
You have choices!
Let’s say you’re in a narcissistic relationship. Perhaps even YOU might feel as though you are the narcissist.
You are worthy! Everyone is worthy of life!
Here are some links to direct you to my dear friend of mine, Beverly Banov Brown — who specializes in narcissistic relationship counseling.
Let’s say you’re depressed. And I know depression hurts. In this kind of situation, it kills.
Because I admit, you may be reading this from a very different mindset than the mindset that I wrote it, I will quote a dear friend of mine (who sent the following to me after she read the first publishing of this article). She wrote,
There is a difference between being depressed from the daily stresses of life and being clinically depressed. Unfortunately, when people suffer from clinical depression there is no space in their being to reach out to do the things you’ve suggested. There is no room in their chest for breath, no light in their heart to feel love from partners and family members. No energy for walks, only pain and it hurts to be alive. It’s a very dark place to live and one that is incredibly difficult to climb out of. In these situations, it is more helpful for a family member/loved one to be of service. Trying to “pick someone up” by being overly happy and energetic is misguided and a slap in the face to those who are suffering. Just sitting in silence and holding the space for their pain lessens the burden and creates an opening for dialogue. Try not to want to “fix” the person as they are not broken. In fact, they are very much alive and feeling the rawness of life itself. Lean into their pain and hold them as they tell you how dark it is. By sharing this space, it literally opens up new possibilities for a breath to be taken. It takes time and patience but each new breath will breathe life into the dark corners. Clinical depression is a life long battle and one that must be honored on a daily basis. Treat it as a friend, become intimate with it’s warning signs. Often times the person struggling with depression will feel a bout of it coming on. If caught before it has fully engaged the person’s mind, body and soul…then it is much easier to do the things that you’ve mentioned in your well written article. Thank you for addressing such an important issue. It needs to be talked about often and openly as so many of us suffer from this. Much of my life’s work will be directed toward people who struggle with depression and/or addiction.
In health and wellness, blessings to you.
My friend Robin poured this out to me from her wonderful open and loving heart. And from her experiential knowing of depression.
So, I am not a mental health counselor, nor did I originally write this article about those who are experiencing clinical depression per se. I am attempting though, to help you stop, breathe, or refocus–even if only in the smallest way–to give yourself a bit of hope and potentially the time to reach out to someone — anyone. I know suicide is a very complex and complicated subject, but I feel compelled to start somewhere after losing a beautiful young coworker.
After sharing the previous paragraph back to my friend, she wrote,
I hear you Sheila and am grateful that you are willing to write about this. My heart goes out to you and the loss that you experienced. Suicide is about clinical depression, the darkest and toughest depression to battle. My father took his own life one Sunday morning when I was 9 years old. He was bipolar with clinical depression on top of that. Those of us with parents that suffered from some form of mental illness, are oftentimes genetically predisposed to similar traits. My own battle with depression has led me into the belly of the beast. It’s a very scary experience for those who are standing in the fire. My advice to those who have loved ones that are going through this is to find them some immediate help. Waiting for a shift in their emotions is often a death sentence when truly at the bottom. You are a kind and loving person, I salute you for taking this subject on!
Yes, this subject is near and dear to me on many levels. The day that he took his life was the beginning of a very long journey for me. One that would take me decades to unravel. I have enormous empathy and compassion for human suffering. As long as we carry a body, we all suffer in different ways. Making yourself available to others with clear boundaries in place is a noble effort and one that is very much needed in this world! The one thing that I’m clear about…we are here to love and to help each other find our way home again.
Connections
So, I offer this updated article, that not only brings my thoughts, but those of my dear and beautiful friend to you in hopes that any of our words will help you in some way. I thank my friend for sharing her experience with us all, more than words can express! Much love! Hugs to you my dear heart!

Breath is always free. Focus on your breathing for awhile.
Go for a walk outside. See if you meet anyone along the way. Smile. Feel like you can’t? Try it anyway. One step at a time.
Sometimes we inherit (we “in hear” it; hear within) problems from our parent’s, relatives, or guardian’s — their argumentative or toxic relationships do not have to influence us though!
Sometimes we think we’ve made bad choices and cannot undo them. Think again.
If you are in a toxic relationship, consider if you care too much. Or perhaps you are an empath, always trying to help someone else. Now you’re drained of energy. Now you think there is no hope. But even false hope, is hope.
If you are an empath, know that empaths can naturally lean toward attracting narcissists. If you find that you’ve been trying to resolve someone else’s problems, and it’s all taking a toll on you, you need support! Only in movies are narcissists cured. Narcissists do not love themselves. And they can be very dangerous. Talk with someone who has the resources to help you.
The movie Moonstruck provides a glimpse into narcissism when Johnny’s mother is “dying everyday”. Some people go around claiming that they’re “dying everyday” for 20 years! In Moonstruck, Johnny’s mother manipulates the entire family. That character did not know “how to love”.
Go to YouTube and watch uplifting and informative videos, like the the ones presented by our good friend and life coach, Beverly Banov Brown.
If you are being mistreated or abused, consider this thought: People in pain cause other people pain. No one deserves to be bullied or abused. You do not deserve whatever negative thing someone is doing to you.
Try this
Some things to try in order to begin to feel hope and grace:
Put your hand on your heart and tell yourself that you love “you”. Say it again and again. Feel your heart beat. Relish in knowing it will beat for you even without you directing it to do so. Bless your heart.
Allow yourself to feel your pain, then as you exhale, allow a bit of it to leave your body. If someone wants to listen to your while you vent about what’s going on in your life, let them. Allow someone in.
Put your hands together when you pray. Don’t believe in prayer? Put your hands together and sit quietly. Ask for nothing. Just sit and breathe. Breathe deeply. Give yourself permission to cry, or laugh, or scream!
Scream! Afraid someone will hear you? Hope they hear you! You do not have to get through your situation alone.
What new and positive choices, are available to you now?
Life is for the living, go take a chance and live!

Sometimes I wake up at 3am and lay awake in bed for an hour or more, hoping to go back to sleep, but my mind starts to drift. Sometimes I get up and quietly write something on the computer (for my blog, or the book I’ve been writing over the last ten years). Sometimes I meditate, pray, cry, and then meditate some more. Other times I go on a crystal journey (meditating with one or more special crystals near or on my body), which nearly every time takes me on an inward path where I find the gentle solace of a holy place.
Take time
My grandfather used to say, “Stop and smell the roses.” Somehow, I feel when I wake up in the middle of the night, it’s because I didn’t take time to smell the roses that day, or if I did, now I’m caught up in the mystery of it ALL. Had I been as fully aware as I could have been in that moment I was smelling the rose? To understand I was standing in the presence of something timeless? Grace washing over me? My thoughts become almost tangible and palpable. As I lay in bed, my heart becomes so open that I think it will leave my body! My huge open heart resonates with a feeling of connection with ALL.
Everything happens for a reason
I believe everything happens for a reason. I cry about things that cannot be changed, about which I feel guilty, or ashamed. Gradually, I let those thoughts go. I remember good times. I remember the friends and family who have transitioned. I miss them. I cry some more. Then, oddly, I begin very slowly, almost like a train steadily slowing as it arrives at a station, to breathe, and allow myself just to psychically embrace each of them. I remember each persons face, what it felt like to be near them, perhaps as we were going somewhere, dancing, talking, or such. I send them my love. I tell them, “Though I miss you fiercely, I know you are in perfect health, wonderful peace, and like the molecules of air around and IN me, you are still near me. And I love you. Thank you. Thank you ever so much dear heart for ALL you gave me. For helping me be who I am NOW.”
Sometimes after a stretch of time, I fall back to sleep. Other times, I write for hours before deciding it’s time to shower and get ready to prepare for my day.
There have been times that the connection I feel to my friends and loved ones, during these middle of the night mental sojourns are so strong, they seem vividly real. But, more often than not, the “visit” is faint, and dissipates into a near whisper. I am imagining, right? I mean, just because it feels real, it cannot be so. Or can it? As I do not limit God, perhaps there is a way to connect and spend time with my loved ones–and I am not only referring to those who have passed on, but even with those who are not living physically near me.
Empty space is not empty
I don’t pretend to know what fills empty space, though the new frontiers of science is finding that what they used to think was empty space, is actually “filled” with “something”–though they do not yet know what. Could that mean that my mystical musings in the middle of the night are when I mysteriously meander through a holy place? It certainly does feel like it’s a sanctuary for me.
Unaware
I’ve learned that when I move too quickly through a day, too caught in all of the “doing”, that I can easily walk by people, places, and things, unaware of the blessings or hidden messages that they might provide. Have I “walked by” people, places, or things, too preoccupied to notice the richness, the magnificence, or the subtle profound vibrations each offer me?
Realizing that I can always STOP, and consciously choose to pay attention to even the smallest of things, my heart dances with joy! I am open!
Heaven on Earth
I actively seek. And I know when we honestly seek, eventually, we will find. I do not need a crown of jewels when I get to Heaven (whatever do people expect to do with those anyway?) but instead, I’d rather trade anxieties for peaceful moments, sadness, feelings of loss, or thoughts of missing those I love most, into balanced emotions, joy, and dare I say, pure bliss NOW–while I’m alive! Isn’t that the true definition of having good mental health?
I go back again and again in my mind to my grandfather’s mantra. Regardless of the season, weather or time of day, I don’t want to miss the roses. When I leave this place, my spirit, mind, and body will have lived fully, changed much, and heartily, truthfully, given as deeply as I knew how–to those who received me.
I speak a mindful thought to someone. Then POOF! And it’s gone.

Now, I love Michelle Rodriguez from Avatar, Machete, and the Fast and Furious movies. And I remembered her from the TV series, Lost. She’s always been a tough, super hero-like compelling actress. Yet, even if I didn’t get into The Reality of Truth for any other reason–and I love it for many reasons–I’d have enjoyed it just to see Michelle go on this adventure and get to know her in a more close-up, intimate, and genuine way. I feel I know her as a person now, not only as an actress. I cried when she cried. I laughed when she laughed. She talks candidly and openly about her experience–and it’s palpable.
Maybe you don’t know (or don’t like) one or more of the persons named on the preceding list, but you’re still invited to watch and open your heart and mind to receive. Perhaps, you’ll learn a thing or two that will make watching The Reality of Truth not only worth your time, but enhance your life in a priceless way!

I write about the myriad ways in which, We Are All Connected. There’s a reason we are all innately seeking these easy breezy feeling, genuine connections.
When we feel connected, we feel good. When we feel disconnected, we don’t feel good. It is that simple, though our minds always want to make things complex.

I have been invited to many churches. And I’ve attended many different churches. Yet, I do not consider myself “religious.” For the one God I believe in, is my Creator, Source Energy, and this omniscience cannot be boxed in one religion. Omnipresence is larger, more vast and unending than any religion can describe or fully appreciate!
Religions, or labels of any kind, slow us down. They’re limiting.
There is a verse in the book of John, chapter 10 that says, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” I dwell often on that verse.
I believe in Jesus Christ and His teachings. Often, I find that I experience Jesus and His message, more profoundly than most people who label themselves as “Christians.” This is because His teachings “grow” me daily. The words attributed to Jesus “expand” me. Raise my vibration. Heighten my sense of “BE-ing” alive. His teachings reveal a loving God. Thus, I’ve been able to shed the skin of religion.
We are all children of God–not the old man with the long white beard God– but rather an Ever-living, Limitless, Divine Intelligence, pulsating ENERGY that breathes and creates all life. And as God’s children, I believe we are all worthy. We all have merit.
Limitless God, Creator, Divine, Omni-everything is the only Source of our breath. Abundance is ours.
Nature is structured
A leaf on a tree has the same nutrition flowing into it while it is growing on a tree, that the tree has. We are a but a branch of Source. Only when we attempt to cut ourselves off from Source do we wither.
The whole point of the Bible was to give us a way to live, a structure to follow, an essence of the Divine Holy Creator. Most of us need structure. Most of us are too scared to really live the fullness of the lives we came here to live. But too many people use the Bible (or they’re chosen Holy book) as a crutch, and never GROW up and through it. People want to judge others, but never cleanse themselves with the holy waters of the divine message.
Speaking of structure, in one of the oldest religions, we meet Ahura Mazda – Lord of Wisdom. The highest spirit name in Zoroastrianism. And in Zoroastrianism we find 101 names for God!
Isn’t it amazing how much we don’t know?
Holy words
People don’t want to read other Holy books or Sacred texts though. That would actually require their TIME.
Much less do people want to follow biblical dietary laws. The Bible has instructions about what foods would benefit our human bodies. In fact, Jesus encouraged us to die to the flesh daily, which I’ve always thought meant to put off my fleshly desires, in order to become more righteous, but now I see this as a test of will, to abstain from food or other things for a time, in order to reveal our true nature.
I know it feels like it can be difficult not to eat for a day. Yet, throughout history, many people have gone multiple days or weeks without food, and they lived through it. We’re just spoiled. We only live for comfort these days. We only want to satisfy our taste buds. If you can’t even skip a meal, skip your meat, or dairy, why would a LIMITLESS unbounded Omniscient God reveal ALL through you? Ye of little faith.
Meaty message
You’ve sat in churches and heard the milk of the message. Why? Because most preachers and pastors say that people just want the milk, and not the meat of it. Well, I don’t think many of us can even handle the milk! We’re biblically lactose intolerant!
So, yes, I’ve given up on organized religion. I’ve given up man-made sermons. Churches are run by limited people. And Creator Source (thank you infinitely!) has given me the key to knowing already–and it’s as close to me always as my breath.
Study to show thyself approved
Sure, I’ve studied the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Christ in You, and many other books about world religions and philosophies. Many profound. Many with aWEsOMe intelligence. But, I don’t think they are without error, since someone had to write each word. Inspired? Probably. And as a writer, I believe many of the things I’ve written were inspired too. Yet, I am not encouraging you to follow imperfect me.
I am encouraging you to study to show yourself approved and lean not to your own understanding. And open your mind a bit.
Take God out of the box
Breathe. Take a moment. Sit in quiet contemplation (meditation) without asking for ANYTHING. Detach from your surroundings. From your stuff. Both physically and emotionally. Just sit for awhile. Say “thank you.” Thank yourself. Thank Divine Presence. Be thankful you have a brain, a body, a working knowledge of the world. Be thankful for the cells of your body and that your Source Creator can and does fill all the space in and through each cell. God is there holding each cell in place, just as Omniscience holds all of the Universe in place. There is no place where God isn’t. There is NO such thing as empty space. You are never alone.
Join my Facebook group
Often, when I come out of meditation, I am gifted with a phrase to think about. Sometimes, I tweet that phrase or message. Here are some:
Are you smarter than God? Do you presume to know which path is right to worship LIMITLESS Source Energy Creator?
What if God doesn’t need you? Would it upset your ego or your mind? Just let Omniscience BE.
Even the words that we use, are only symbols, often misconstrued. It’s nearly impossible to describe the vastness and ALIVENESS of God!
Deep, cavernous, and shallow in places – I live at the foot of God’s throne. Omni-everything. Filling-All-Space Creator.
Limitless Ever-Living Filling-All-Space Creator God / Divine Source set you FREE! Live from that FREEDOM now!
Why is too big of a question to ask. We could never contain the answer. Ask yes or no questions, or to be “shown” how.
Some people are just harder to love than others because of the filters, our own unique ways of perceiving them.
You want freedom, God gave Free Will. Can you be responsible enough not to inflict pain on others?
Meditate on this: God fills ALL Space. OM
Imagine how ginormous God is. How could God be constrained by a name, much less one ideology?
Once you give someone a gift, don’t even think about it again because if you do, if you judge what they did with it, then it wasn’t a gift.
Two reasons “church” isn’t needed: 1) We are to study to show ourselves approved before God, and 2) Our body is our temple.
I don’t go to church. Why? Simply, I haven’t yet found a faith, much less a church, that could contain our LIMITLESS Creator Source — God.
Thank you for every “bump” in the road.
If you really knew that Limitless Divine Source Energy God Omniscient lived inside of YOU, filling all space, you would never hate yourself. You would KNOW that you are never alone.
Don’t you find it humorous that as soon as you break free of one paradigm, you find yourself in another?
YOU have the POWER in every moment to change your Mind. Focus on this. Human beings created All-Ah!
Oh yeah, it’s okay. It really is. Because all that Free Will still fits inside a Limitless Divine order. Always. ALL-ways.
Let’s keep our religious discourse so simple that a small child can understand. Creator Source God lives.
God still creates. God still communicates. God still inspires. So, it stands to reason there will continue to be art created, words spoken, and books written, which are divinely inspired.
Very simply, why do we limit God?
Think about this: No hope is false. Hope is hope!
Only go to a church, society, or group meeting that FEEDS and nurtures YOU. If it makes you feel bad because of gossip or hypocrisy–leave. Immediately!
The way in which you vibrate, whether you’re feeling good or bad, has an immediate impact on every cell of your body. Your being is always vibrating, resonating to the environment / conditions that surround you. You have the choice to put yourself in the best conditions for yourself now.
You and I are one imperfect being, who God Loves unconditionally! Conditions separate. Rules separate. Perfect love embraces, cherishes! Love unifies.
At some point outside today, FEEL and acknowledge Omnipresence when the breeze blows over you. That’s a warm hug from our Creator.
Deep, cavernous, and shallow in places – I live at the foot of God’s throne. Yes, even rocks, yeah, the very mountains… are ALIVE!
Do you know why I say our Creator “Fills-All-Space”? Because God is Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient!
Why were we made in God’s image? To reflect God in all we be, do, and have!
Anytime I think, “me” I am in Ego. Anytime I allow God to flow through me, I am in Grace. Gratitude. Namaste.
WE are to reflect God upon each other, as water reflects the sky.
Unconditional love. Love without any conditions. We may not see ourselves or others the way God does, but we can try!
You ARE only seeing PART of the picture – ever. God.
Its simple really. Instead of “God made us in God’s image”, we see and make God to be like us, in our image. God is Energy, in All.
When what you believe in hurts other people rather than helps, it’s not about God, it’s about you.
Why were we made in God’s image? To reflect God in all we be, do, and have!
We are each a leaf on God’s tree (Gaia), each with our own unique perspective.
Most people have had God’s unconditional love, conditioned right out of them.
Whenever I FEEL bad, sad, mad, etc. it is always because my perspective differs from God’s POV which, is ALL WAYS unconditional.
Lonely, scared, or anxious? Be not afraid. You are never alone.
Uh, that thing called unconditional love you want to think you believe in, means loving through any & all conditions!
When you practice unconditional love, you’re not complaining. How peaceful would the world be if we all communicated when we’re happy?
Even children know this truth, play only with those you feel good around. Walk away from those who break your toys.
My gift to you, to all who are truth seekers. We Are All Connected.
There is only one absolute in the Universe: everything vibrates.
The paradox is: I change not, but I change everything. – God.
Have no Ego
As I have previously written, God created us to show himself without ego. This came up again for me yesterday, as a new friend told me that EGO means “Edging God Out.” I love that! I love learning more ways to let go and relax my ego, and walk in and with God’s presence daily.
Ultimately, because people always want to limit, judge, label, quantify, and put everything within a structure–this is the reason for all faiths, religion, and dogmas, to provide us the structure and permission to walk in and with Divinity at all times. However, as we all know too well, some people take this to the extreme of thinking they ARE God, and use that to “lord it over” people or whole other cultures. That’s fanaticism.
It never fails to amaze me how some people (like that one particular facebooker) think they have God all figured out, in a box, with such lofty knowing (Ego) to think they can judge / put ANY other human down that simply tries to share another aspect of our LIMITLESS Creator!! What audacity! Yet, even with that, yes, We Are All One, We Are All Connected, and I can send our “brother” love and a hope for his one day expansive opening of eyes and heart for his ultimate highest and best. Ahhh, blessed light! Glory to ever expanding knowledge and grace…
So, you are invited to take God out of the box.
We Are All Connected
We Are All One. In that, there is not one of us who is better than another.
We Are All Connected by the very breath and energy of our omnipotent Limitless God. And in this way, we make a beautiful energetic tapestry that God can see, feel, and know. Ahh, such sacred beauty. Such balance. Such peace. Such astounding and unfathomable LOVE.
Daily practice
For further practice (to study to show thyself approved to God):
Meditate
Breathe
Walk in gratitude daily
Really LOOK at nature, sit with a flower or leaf for a while
Read good books that nurture your soul and spirit
Listen with mindful awareness
Let go of attachments, let go of anything that doesn’t serve you, including the past
Activate your Faith! No worries–ever!
Forgive, or better yet, don’t judge – Everything happens for a reason
Watch for subtle clues and meaning–synchronicities
There IS value in Everything (whether you can wrap your mind around that or not)
A limitless God, Creator, Source Energy can never be fully understood as that would be like trying to see every glint of sun on every wave in the ocean, and more—all at the same time.
I believe for every question there is an answer, but that those answers will not cover every question because there are limitless scenarios in which one could ask the same question, thus putting a different spin on the answer.
Be the person your Soul knows you are!
Namaste. OM
We Are All Connected.
Many blessings to you in ALL ways.

Just before the New Year, I had the immense pleasure of doing a bit of “pre-paving” for my future by attending Dr. Alison J. Kay’s, “Your Sensitivity Is Your Power” tele-call series. And wowee!! It was super-charged!
The benefits
So, what happened after I attended the tele-call series?
I gained a clarity of my own personal power. Almost like I was stepping up a staircase of emotional well-being and balance! Yes, I accepted an invitation from the Universe to step up my personal power by being on these calls, and I’m the better for it!
I’m sensitive
Overly concerned with other people’s drama?
As a sensitive type of person–in my life having been known as one to cry easily, become overly concerned with other people’s dramas, or get easily overwhelmed, I noticed each day after the tele-call experience, I felt lighter, happier, and less concerned with other people’s “stuff” going on around me!
Sometimes, I tend to feel as though I am carrying the burden of other people so much, that I prefer not to interact with others at all. Much of those feelings lifted after the tele-call series for me, and continue to lift as time goes on.
Traits of empaths
People used to tell me they knew I was naturally empathic. Dr. Kay explained empaths and their traits in great detail during the tele-call series. She let us know how each of us could use our gift of empathy to give us more ease and comfort day-to-day. We learned how to use our sensitive side without losing our sense of self.
The work
After each tele-call, I began to practice any/all of the following each day–whenever any difficult situation or conversation would occur:
Mentally ask myself, “Is this mine?” And, if I knew it was NOT my problem, then I would mentally state, “Return to sender with grace, ease, and love attached, or I would simply state, “Send ’em love” (learned previously, but not practiced much) to really feel the vibrations emanating from my heart (the invisible intelligence Dr. Wayne Dyer used to speak of) going out to the person, lifting my feelings about whatever was going on.
Breathe – really breathe, even take an extra walk as needed, climb stairs, stretch, or meditate. Then at my office desk, self soothe with my Young Living essential oils, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ), and/or Yamuna Body Rolling — using one ball behind my back and/or putting my bare feet on the foot wakers under my desk. (This has also has enabled me to share these modalities with others when they would ask what I was doing–Yay!)
Distance myself when my inner being tells me, re-soundly, that right NOW (in THIS moment), this person or place is not good for me (or I am not good for others in this space). I honor, respect, and love myself enough, to walk away and go to another place where I can feel good!
Set boundaries. I can choose whether–whatever is happing in this moment–conflicts with what I’ve previously written about (to “Be open to receive”) and to know that I am allowed also, to receive or not. Must I receive all and filter? Must I receive bad to receive good? Maybe. But, I have the power to choose that for myself.
Expand my energy – Each morning include in my meditation to go into my awareness and expand it outward to my family, my circle of influence, neighbors, local community, state, region, country, continent, and world. Celebrate the knowing of others via Twitter, Facebook, my blogs, etc. whom live in other countries. Celebrate this knowing of WE ARE ALL CONNECTED. This is true.
Empower myself. Indeed, put my cape on! 😉 Be my authentic self. Act on the truth that my inner being resonates with, i.e. when I feel my “God bumps”. I even signed up for Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith’s Life Visioning class, no doubt because of how powerful I felt after completing Dr. Kay’s tele-call series! How does it get any better than this? Yay! And later, I signed up for Yamuna classes (see this Examiner article I wrote) to learn about “Body Rolling”.
Though I know, I don’t act like it.It is never necessary to be the victim. I am not trapped. I always have a choice. I break any DNA, biological, mental, or spiritual chains that could have come through my lineage and blood. In the name of our Limitless, Ever-Living, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Pulsating, Be-ing, Creator Source God who IS the Energy that holds the Universe together. Beyond what we can see. Beyond what we now know. Faith IS the substance of things not yet seen.
Empaths have our own level of sensitivity, level of awareness, unique energetic healing modalities, and spiritual gifts to share with the world! I am ready to share mine!
Clearing the past
The tele-call sessions withDr. Alison J Kay and her empowering messages and clearings, transformed past (even something that happened a moment ago is “the past”) shame of negative actions–allowing me to consciously “let go” of negative limiting thoughts, acknowledging that forgiveness is a daily process. I knew the pain I felt in my body were the cells of my body (scientist Candace Pert proved cells hold memories) calling out for me to transcend and know that really everything IS okay!
Dr. Kay’s clearings tuned me in and provided me with different verbiage to explain to myself, and to you in this post, what had been happening. Healing is an ongoing PROCESS!
How it builds up
Everyday life causes certain connections to occur:
The neighbor who may or may not smile at me when I step outside. That person doesn’t know me.
The store clerk that serves me may ask, “Did you find everything okay?” without really meaning it.
The restaurant owner’s son, who while ignoring us, scolded an employee (the employee was actually attempting to seat us) for not following proper procedures. He didn’t realize they would lose a customer by behaving that way in front of us, instead of just seating us–they could train their staff in private later!
The soldier (police, firefighter, teacher, or other public servant) who is just “doing their job” without considering the moral choices he or she actually has.
We really can get better
Many of us abdicate our ability to choose and lose a moment (or more) of happiness and joy forourselves and others. And we can help others – we really can! If we’re in better shape emotionally, mentally, and physically, we can change the world! And why is that important? Because We Are All Connected!
The energies and what I learned during Dr. Alison J. Kay’s tele-call series for sensitives continues to free me. The time spent on her calls FELT sooo good, not just for a short time, but weeks later.
About Dr. Alison J. Kay
Meditation and yoga teacher Dr. Alison J. Kay, offers weekly group telephone calls, online video-conferencing (Google Hangout), and private sessions where you can learn about meditation techniques. She teaches yoga classes too! Her group fitness classes include: yoga, mind-body, and core-strengthening.
Dr. Alison J. Kay studied in the east, Asia and India and thoroughly knows and understands the basis of the placebo effect (using several modalities, including meditation) and it’s relationship basis of subtle energy.
The tele-call series gave me hope for all of us to continue on our journey, learning and growing every day. To me, there is no such thing as “false hope”. Hope is hope. Because FAITH is the SUBSTANCE of things not yet seen.
I invite you to continue opening your mind to learning about something new in 2016 and beyond. You are never to old to be open to receive new and helpful information.
Be ye blessed in ALL ways.
Amen. Namaste. OM

The day after Beau (our beloved 14 year old male Shih-Tzu) crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I realized our morning walk (when I’d do my walking meditation) could become my regular sitting meditation practice time. I knew I could honor Beau (during my meditation time) by sitting with a blanket in the spot where he had made his transition to the “beyond”. Also, I could place the two small stuffed animals (my loving husband had given me years ago) near me, to sort of represent our kids with fur, Beau and Lou-Lou. Two little stuffed representatives to comfort me somehow.
Why meditate?
To center oneself emotionally, mentally, and spiritually within your being
To nurture self and enhance well-being
To take note of thoughts
To expand the space between thoughts – which sharpens one’s focus over time and makes the mind serviceable
To allow self to connect with God – our LIMITLESS Ever-Living Filling-All-Space Creator. (More about that connection here.)
My meditation time is priceless to me.
Meditation class
After taking structured meditation classes, I realize that I’ve always meditated, just not in any structured way. I have learned methods from Dr. Alison J. Kay and a MeetUp group, and I continue to learn. A couple of weeks into my new sitting meditation routine, I visited Alania Starhawk’s crystal shop and studio in Largo, FL (Alania also runs a MeetUp group) and I was drawn to two wonderful “sister” crystals, which I brought home and proceeded to incorporate into my meditation seating arrangement.
Beginning to meditate
When I begin my actual meditation, I set a timer next to me (UPDATE: I was right, after two months, I did not need the timer).
I settle and relax my body into a comfortable position with my legs crossed. I envision the light from the sister crystal next to my left foot, entering my body in a spiral fashion, clicking into place all of the gears or points of connection on each chakra wheel (beginning with the root/red chakra, sacral/orange, solar plexus/yellow (always visualizing a sun rise), up into the heart/green chakra (where everything grows from the sun and filters out as love to all in my community, city, county, state, country, continent, and world).
Continuing, the Energy blooms into the throat/blue chakra, and to the purple third-eye chakra, where levers and switches get flipped up or down, and re-calibrate as necessary whatever needs to be accurately tuned, through the very essence and into the center of my body, aligning my spine, reaching out through the light of the other sister crystal in my right hand, and finally, connecting with Limitless Creator Source Energy God via my crown chakra (top of my head).
I naturally come out of my meditation with a word, or phrase from the Divine.
Honored Connections
When Beau passed, I wanted a pillow with a picture of him on it, but it took me awhile to figure out the picture and how to obtain it.
One day, I looked at the beautiful Awakened Fibers wall hanging in our bedroom and realized who I’d ask. I reached out to Mary Ann Pickard, owner of Awakened Fibers — and she was more than happy to create my Beau pillow! I commissioned her to make one pillow for me and one for my granddaughter (who also loved Beau, often asking to see him when we’d Skype or Google Hangout).
Whem the pillows were finished, I met Mary Ann to pick them up. I was elated! She had lovingly designed and created such extraordinary pillows! So much detail, like the hidden zipper (so Jennie wouldn’t catch herself on it), along with super neat trim (blue cording on mine / frilly lace on Jennie’s) — really artistically crafted!
Upon returning home, I immediately sensed that I would use my new “Beau pillow” during my meditation. My yellow shirt is from Rekha (of India Artisans, Sarasota FL which was next door to the Crystal Cave a beautiful crystal shop.
Other meditations
Moving meditation
I did stair climbing meditation five days a week for more than two years. I used that time to de-stress from my tasks, stretch, practice Jin Shin Jyutsu, pray, and even practice Pilates and other movements to build and tone my body. I gained much calm during that time.
Sitting meditation
My sitting meditation is something I really look forward to each morning though. It’s a quiet, tranquil time where I feel totally nurtured and supported by All There Is.
A time where the walls of “me” melt away and allow me to become ONE with All There Is, know and feel exceedingly that, We Are All Connected.
Focused meditation
You don’t need to have “things” around you when you meditate – but I have found that for now, these are pleasing to me and anchor me to my little piece of heaven on earth.
Quick recap
You can actually meditate with your eyes open! Just pick a point to focus on. Also, clearing your mind isn’t the goal. The goal (over time with consistent practice) is to make the mind serviceable.
You can use a phrase instead of a word. You can try walking meditation if sitting annoys you. The point is to observe and detach. Notice who (or what) is thinking the thoughts and let each gracefully float away. Oh, and no spirituality is required. OM ❤️🦋🌀 Namaste. OM
UPDATE April 2019: My morning routine has changed. Now, I mentally say, “Thank you.” Then before I get out of bed, I do this actual breathwork (yes, with this link): https://youtu.be/lcC_DUtNr1M Then, before brushing my teeth I look in the bathroom mirror, look into my eyes and say out loud, “Thank you mom and thank you dad for creating me”! (As both are in the Grand Beyond now). And then shower, dress, and do some yoga, Pilates, and/or Qigong. A little later in the morning, I do this exercise too: https://youtu.be/PwJCJToQmps
For beginners
Here are a few things I’ve found in common between all the various meditation teachers I have learned from:
Focus on your breath
Your mind will wander
As thoughts enter, allow them to float on by as if on a cloud
Stay unattached to external sounds or environmental conditions
Return to the breath
Start with one or two minutes
Sit comfortably in the same place each day
Try to meditate at the same time each day
After some practice, allowing the thoughts to float by and finding the space growing in between the thoughts is what is most important. Namaste. OM ❤️🦋🌀🙏

The following list of helpful and easy ways to reduce stress, is ordered from activities that require the least physical effort, to the most. For the most part, this is a list you can reach for during your workday break times (as there are many more ways to reduce stress when you’re home).
Give one or more a try, especially if any are new to you! You may be surprised with the results!
My favorites are:
Prayer
Meditation / Mindfulness
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT “Tapping”)
Jin Shin Jyutsu
Pranayama breathing
Sniff some essential oil
Gentle stretching
Get up and walk around
Swaying to music
Mindful stair-climbing in conjunction with EFT / JSJ
Yoga
Pilates
For a bit more information on these, I like the following links:
Or, my favorite prayer is simply, “Thank you“. If there is time, you can think of and add anything you’re grateful for. You just cannot be grateful and upset at the same time.
Meditation and yoga teacher Dr. Alison J. Kay offers weekly group telephone calls, online video-conferencing (Google Hangout), and private sessions where you can learn about meditation techniques. She teaches yoga classes too! Alison’s yoga classes are designed for specific issues / needs; i.e., yoga for triathletes, yoga for runners, yoga for hockey players, yoga for teenage girls, etc. Her group fitness classes include: yoga, mind-body, and core-strengthening. Check out my blog post about her here.
My wonderful Jin Shin Jyutsu teacher, Michelle Giambra offers classes at her studio in Sarasota, Florida and she has a Facebook page here.
Find someone who sells Young Living essential oils and buy Stress Away, a beautiful blend of Copaiba, Lime, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Ocotea, and Lavender.
Gentle stretching might involve a few chair yoga moves, or just raising your hands and arms as high as you can and slowly lowering them out and down to your sides while breathing with purpose to slow down. Click here to find some chair yoga videos.
It’s amazing how just breaking your attention, even for a few moments, can ease stress and anxiety! Get up and walk around. A few minutes of walking around will help you to calm, breathe, look at other things, and change your focus. Yes, even just going to the restroom counts!
I like to sway to some original music when I come home after a work. Who wants elevator music? If I could do this at work, life really would be a breeze! To find some exciting new music, click here.
Mindful stair-climbing is something I’ve sort of invented for myself. Well at least I thought so, until I Googled it and found this. I do all sorts of meditation while climbing 8-10 flights of stairs, twice a day. I do it for exercise, and to relieve stress. It clears my head and I can return to work in less than 10 minutes – refreshed. I climb sideways, count backwards from 100, count by 3s, or 4s, etc. and sometimes I just focus on a mantra. It works for me!
Pilates has been the best new class I’ve embarked on in the past year. It’s given me increased range of motion, taught me to breathe more deeply into different areas of the body, and motivated me to eat less and better so I could lose weight (down 13 pounds so far!). Guess I’ll have to keep updating this page to tell you my progress, huh? If you’ve never tried it, check it out. I go to Blue Sage Pilates in Bradenton, Florida. If you live in the area, you may want to give Karol a call and schedule a session! If you can’t find a Pilates class near you, check this out — click here.
Ah, now doesn’t that feel better?

The following are a collection of spiritual insights I noted during my 40 day juice fast:
The more I explore life, the simpler it becomes
Let he who hath ears, let him hear
We grow as blades of grass, up through the earth
Be as the blade of grass, grow through the dirt
Dirt, or earth, is analogous to all resistance we encounter
The more I accept lovingly what is, the more I can receive
Life is short, do what you love
You truly can bloom where you are planted
Be grateful – for everything
Every thought can be a prayer
You cannot say “thank you” enough times each day
Saying or thinking “thank you” in every moment is enlightenment
I am of Native American descent, this is why I have such deeply rooted feelings about “ownership” of anything
No one owns their so-called “land.” Think about it. We really don’t.
Tear down the fences and love one another
Don’t yell at me – what is all the yelling for? You do not control me.
Reality is ONLY what we perceive
Unplug to walk my dog, plug into God
God is everywhere
Space is everywhere
Space is not void
God exists in the space
In everything there is space (think molecules)
There is no path to “Everywhere”
No path is required, nor building either
No dogma is required, only faith
Faith is the substance of all things hoped for, things yet unseen
Faith IS a substance
When you pray, your faith becomes it (your faith has made you WHOLE)
God exists in all
Breathe, let God in
Breathe, let God
Breathe, let go
We do not create space
Space just is
We do not create God
God just is
Think good, think God, thank God – the difference one letter makes
I am a circle, a diamond, a mandala
As a diamond has facets, so do you, at least a few are glistening, shining
I can be grateful even for the muddy / milky facets of others, as it causes me to ask / hope for improvement
We are as a tapestry, all the stories of our lives weave a pattern
God sees all of our facets, all of our challenges and complexities
God knows all of our possibilities, our potential
Like electricity to a switch, it is up to each of us to allow pure positive energy to flow, or switch it off
Switching off pure positive source energy causes dis-ease in the body
God sees us all as a whole, in a perfect state of well-being
Jesus healed by not seeing (accepting) the dis-ease – faith makes one whole
Jesus saw our perfection, wholeness so dis-ease just “fell away” in his presence
We are mirrors of each other
No two people can ever experience anything the same way
You hold the probability to be nice, or the probability not to be
I appreciate all the probabilities you hold within you
God really is an aWEsOMe life-force, energy, Creator, Immanence, All-pervading, Ever-Living, Omniscience.
No one is perfect, not even our teachers, so let’s just drop that word and stop striving for that
We are ALL on a journey and one day we shall see everyone’s intentions
About the fast:
My belief is that I must be tuned EXACTLY to the right frequency or I will not clearly RECEIVE the signal and the best way (for me) to clear out the clutter of my mind, is to find something strong to focus on, in this case, my will not to eat. This fast has allowed me better reception.
I chose a 40 day fast because 40 days is a significant number in the Bible and because I have been reading about several others juice fasting experiences, and 40 seems to be the number of days most have been successful completing.
Bible references to 40 days:
Genesis 7:4 – It rained 40 days and 40 nights during the Great Flood
Genesis 8: 3-8 – Noah sent out the raven 40 days after the waters receded and the Ark settled on Mount Ararat
Genesis 25: 20 – Isaac married Rebecca when he was 40 years old
Genesis 26: 34 – Esau was 40 years old when he married his two wives
Genesis 16: 35-6 – The Israelites ate manna for 40 years while wandering in the desert
Exodus 24: 18 – Moses spent 40 days and nights on Mount Sinai before returning with the original commandments
Exodus 24: 28 – Moses returns and fasts for 40 days and 40 nights
Numbers 13: 25 – The scouts from the 12 tribes spied out the Promised Land 40 days before they returned a bad report
Numbers 14: 33; Deuteronomy 29: 4 – Therefore, the Israelites were required to spend 40 years “wandering” in the wilderness
Numbers 13: 5; Joshua 14: 7 – Joshua was 40 years old when he spied with the scouts
1 Samuel 17: 16 – Goliath “taunted” Israel 40 days before his defeat by David
2 Samuel 5: 4- King David reigned for 40 years
1 Kings 11: 42 – King Solomon reigned for 40 years
Jonah 3: 4 – Jonah preacahed to Nineveh for 40 days before they repented
1 Kings 19: 8 – Elijah fasted 40 days in the wilderness
Leviticus 12: 1-4 & Luke 2: 22-4 – Purification of Mary is 40 days after birth of Jesus
Matthew 4: 1-2 – Jesus spent 40 days Fasting in the Desert after His baptism
Acts 1: 3 – Jesus also spent 40 days on earth following His Resurrection
Jesus, by tradition, spent 40 hours in the tomb.
The above Bible list reference was noted in, and with thanks to: Richard “Rick” Torretto author ofDivine Mercy and the Biblical Significance of 40 Days.
Since learning that raw food is the cleanest and best food to eat, vibrationally speaking, I chose to limit my juice fasting to raw food (adding only a bit of cultured dairy if I become too weak since I am working 40 hours and driving 10 hours weekly during the fast).
Health wise, this fast will serve to clean my body of toxins, junk in the gut, and overall bring my body to a healthier level. I’ve also inspired at least one coworker to embark upon a 10 day fast.
Focus of attention is needed to attain any desire.
As of 4/6/13 I successfully completed my 40 day juice fast, or as some call it… a juice feast! I was sooo happy to have completed this quest and feel absolutely light and wonderful!
As of 12/7/14 I have completed seven weeks of juice fasting and souping. I am only counting because at some point in the future I want to be able to look back and acknowledge all of this but I plan to live this way. The way I describe my current program is: Raw juice fast all day, every day. Then for the early evening “meal” have one bowl of soup (primarily made up of organic vegetables, lentils, or chili).
I am making this conscious choice in order to:
Reset my body’s hunger clock
Reset my priorities
Allow myself more time for prayer, meditation, writing, while not needing to consider so much what I eat
Observe my habits and decide any I want to change
Determine what foods cause inflammation in my body (that I will never eat again)
Flour and yeast products cause me issues so no more bread, biscuits, cake, etc.
Determine what foods allow my body to reach my ideal weight / shape and feel its best
People tell me more insights may come to me in the weeks that follow so as those insights come, and I’ve continued sharing them in this blog and in my books.
