‘Thrive in 25’ – Taking a break and scrubbing posts

For a second time this year. I am taking a break from social media (including blogging). I shuttered my LinkedIn account last night because I felt strongly about taking at least one ACTION while sitting in the sad reality of Charlie Kirk’s death and the downward spiral I feel our country is in.

Goodbye to my LinkedIn account. I closed it as of Sept. 10, 2025. Oddly enough the last message it showed me was that I would lose my ability to communicate with 2 people (one was a former boss of mine, though I had over 500 connections! Does that mean only two people were opening my posts?!? If so, how much ENERGY have I been wasting there?!?

So, as of today, I am spending more time in my Bible. And meditating in my spa room.

I’m recalibrating. I don’t know if I will continue to build my YouTube channel or not. I’m on Day 7 of a 7-Day spicy lemon lime water challenge on my YouTube channel, so I will dance in a few minutes and get two videos uploaded there, but I’m so sad. I hope it raises my spirit.

A few days ago I jumped back on Substack and decided to offer a paid subscription service for Insiders, but after getting an email from a former colleague (it wasn’t good!), I am second-guessing my decision to put energy into that platform. I’m sure I will stay on WordPress, I will just self censor. Or at least I think I will.

I will work my process and see how I feel in a few days or weeks. I will continue to reblog some of your important posts or those that touch my heart. And I appreciate ALL of your heartwarming messages and comments. I truly do!

Today’s date, Sept. 11, has been an emotional one for me (and most Americans) since 2001. I got a feeling late last night of, “here we go again.” Though I hope I’m wrong.

Ways we give away our Energy

Oops, I did it again. I got involved in a political discussion on LinkedIn a couple of days ago, which culminated in my choosing to disconnect from a former manager of mine. Oh well! I had communicated how the judicial system had failed us (and continues to fail us, as in the case of the nurse practitioner) in the USA–citing the issue with my first cousin, whose murderer is still walking free on $8500 bond in Myrtle Beach, SC. The murderer shot eight times at my cousin’s car as my cousin was driving away! If that’s not INTENT to kill, I don’t know what else is!) Read my former post. 

My former boss (from many years ago) held the opinion that there’s nothing wrong with our American system of justice. But that’s not why I unfriended him. I unfriended him because he didn’t say one thing in response to what I’d written about my cousin’s murder! He didn’t even hint that he’d read my words! And I wasn’t going to continue to give him a platform to highlight his mainstream media programming. Oh! He said I was misinformed and shouldn’t get my news from YouTube, etc. Ha! Well, I replied that I’d rather get my information from REAL people (most retired military) on YouTube! And then I disconnected from him. Lesson learned. I won’t engage in any of that anymore! It was sooo draining!

I will not allow anyone to gaslight me any longer. I have no ego in this, so insulting me doesn’t work, but gaslighting will not make me change my mind to agree with a person—not to mention that it’s not KIND. And kindness rules my world. I check my bias every day (using de-programming techniques I’ve developed) on myriad subjects so as to not expend my energy to try and change ANYONE. Like the old psychiatry joke, the light bulb has to WANT to be changed. And then, if you want, you can read my suggestions (from the four books I’ve written).

I had to go back to my Integrating the Spirals process and put on a Peace Super Patch to calm down from that LinkedIn exchange.

Celebrating 17 years on LinkedIn

Can you believe it’s been 17 years since I joined LinkedIn? I actually feel like I’ve been on the platform longer. I have had to redo what I’ve posted on LinkedIn many times, because I have had people steal job descriptions, follow me (yes, in real life) to where I’ve worked (I would say ‘stalking’ but because I couldn’t prove it beyond coincidence I didn’t accuse the guy of that. Should one close their LinkedIn account after they retire?

Since retiring, I pondered closing my LinkedIn account, but I am continuing to post my daily music blog posts there, at least for this year.

I see several people (mostly the ones I used to work with) who put —RETIRED— or such on their LinkedIn profile and was wondering, how many do that versus simply remove their profile and close their account? Any guesses?
