It’s October 10th, 2024; We have an original pop song for ALL. Sung by Julie Manners, it still brings a tear to our eyes. It’s a fantasy song, but currently, I apply some of the lyrics to our former home of Florida. Watching all of the devastation in YouTube videos this morning, put us in a melancholy mood. Lovely production on this tune from Steven Cooper of Nashville, TN. I love his piano playing.
Here’s the two-hundred-eighty-second new music post for 2024, as I consistently share a new song each day for you. Mind, body, soul, and spirit. This is what I’m ALL about and why I am here. It’s why I write and share. To enlighten, engage, entertain, educate, and leave a legacy for our granddaughters.
We don’t miss Florida but
Disaster can strike anywhere, but we don’t miss Florida.
Don’t get me wrong, we miss our friends, but we were pretty much traumatized during the 17 months we lived off grid in the woods of northeast Florida, so we left that property (and I was sad to leave my son), and then we had moved back to St. Pete, first in Gulfport for a month, and then to Bradenton for two years.
During the two years we lived in a condo in Bradenton we lost power 4 times, though we lived a mile from a hospital (and was supposed to be on the hospital power grid, a big reason we’d moved there), and underground utilities. But after the hurricane Ian in October of 2022, we had been without power of 8 days! Again, we were traumatized. The emotional toll it took on us cannot be underestimated. And the physical toll it took on Richard when he had a stroke from lifting/carring too much, we agreed we could not deal with living near the water. That’s why we moved to Ocala, Florida to get to high and dry ground. Had we had decent neighbors in Ocala, we probably would still be there, but they were simply bizarre and ridiculous.
We know nowhere is perfect, but when my daughter asked us to consider moving next to her, her husband, and our three young granddaughters, it was an offer too good to pass up. We knew it would be a huge change, but we were DONE with Florida. And now, look! Two hurricanes in two weeks?!? I think I would have lost my mind if we still lived in Bradenton in that condo! Thank Omniscience God that we got out of there when we did!
If you’d like to view some of Richard’s original beach art: beach artwork.
Here’s a drone video of just some of the aftermath of hurricane Milton. We think drone videos are exactly what should be used to assess damages after a disaster so people aren’t putting themselves at risk for injury.
And this is what the flooding looked like in Tampa (I used to work at the University there years ago, so yes, this video caught my attention though it’s CNN, which I hate):
This is why I don’t think mobile homes should only be allowed in the middle of the state of Florida and certainly not allowed anywhere near the water. At least RV parks are temporary and people can pull or drive their RVs out of harms way. Likewise, we’ve seen videos of a lot of yachts and other smaller boats washed ashore. Boats shouldn’t be left tied/moored to a dock when a storm is coming. They should be taken to another area! I do NOT understand why people don’t take their boats to safe harbors well ahead of these storms.
Getting back to my emotional center

Everything happens for a reason
Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. Even if we have to disconnect from some people, for a time.
Enjoy (IN Joy) everything and love! Be Everything All the Time. Let’s soar in ’24!
Yours in expanding, sharing information, centering, spiraling consciousness,
Sheila “Spiral Sister” Murrey
