March 22nd – Just enough

It’s March 22nd, 2024; Here’s an original blues song with a sizzling hot sound thanks to production at Steven Cooper’s studio in Nashville, TN. The instrumentation on this tune embraced the snappy guitar and sweet saxophone from acclaimed horn player John Heinrich. This original blues song included the vocals from our friend Bubba Hudson, who sang so many of our songs. Just enough to keep you satisfied. Ha!

Love the soul we feel

Here’s the eighty-first new music post for 2024, as I consistently release new music right here on my blog site for everyone to enjoy. And yes, I am always delighted to give you the songs that I feel the most soul when I listen.

My parents and grandparents taught me so many lessons. Music was beloved on both sides of my family. One of my cousins (Greg, Omniscience rest his soul) on my mom’s side always had music playing in his home, and one of my cousins (John) on my dad’s side of the family is a true audiophile. I am digging into the history a bit more on my mom’s side and researching the steel guitars my grandfather and grandmother played before they had their children.

Honor our relations and ancestors

My cousin Greg was always going to music festivals. He would dress up as a fuzzy bear too! I know he and his wife, Susan, and their friends all had a blast. I think I’ve mentioned we were all at one festival, Bonnaroo, yet never could find each other. One of my biggest regrets as I sooo wanted to hang out with them.

I loved festivals too, even being an emcee for many years at a yoga and music festival in St. Petersburg, FL. As much as I loved hanging out with like-minded people during these festivals, I have been feeling for a while that it’s time for me to let my friends go. We’ll soon move to New Hampshire to spend the rest of our days with my daughter, son-in-law, and three beautiful granddaughters. I’ve already missed so much with them–especially with the 7-year-old twins. I don’t have the connection with the twins that I’ve had with our 12-year-old granddaughter for many reasons. I am sooo looking forward to hanging out with them!

February 21st – Renaissance man

It’s February 21st, 2024; Here’s an original song written by my husband, Richard Murrey, and sung by a male professional singer in a Nashville, TN music production studio. This is a pop song with flair. I could imagine it playing at a Renaissance fair.

Here’s the fifty-second new music post for 2024, as I consistently offer one of our original songs each day. Richard’s brothers are more into Renaissance festivals than he is, so we’ve never attended. But he wrote this song as a way of connecting to the Renaissance spirit. Then again, I’ve said that Richard is a Renaissance man (as he’s painted pictures with one hand and written song lyrics with the other), so there’s that.

Tom Hanks played a Renaissance Man

Several years ago, Richard and I watched the movie The Ladykillers, and it quickly became one of our favorites! It’s a great story plot (that hearkens back to one of my favorites, The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe). And the Coens always get their writing/directing right. Tom Hanks is always remarkable–the character he creates in The Ladykillers has to be one of his best. And Marlon Wayans is hysterical. Of course, the entire cast is incredible, and Irma P. Hall is stellar! Their sense of comic timing and top-rate performances are genius, and the choir singing is some of the best I’ve ever heard. It’s a movie that resonates with us on several levels. Check it out on DVD.

Real Ren-Fest for us at Glastonbury Abbey, England (2019)

While I love festivals and ancient things, I didn’t know much about Glastonbury Abbey when we visited in 2019. After our visit there and having a couple of profound experiences, I will never forget it. I was so glad one of our friends from the Sacred Celtic Journey tour snapped this photo of Richard and me.

As well, we will always remember our real Renaissance festival-type experience when we took Eric’s Winterfell Game of Thrones Tour in 2019 and got to dress up in the appropriate apparel (from the show) at the last stop.

The 7th year of our annual FREE health and wellness event was the best and grandest festival yet! You’ll want to stay plugged into this blog, and the Awakening website to ensure you don’t miss next year’s festival! It’s sure to expand the consciousness of all vendors, participants, and attendees into the stratosphere!!!

Over the last seven years, the Awakening Into The Sun festival has been the muse to many artists. Artists who inspire abundant and ever-expanding consciousness in the world. We learn, grow, and LOVE! The festival’s mission is to water your seeds of greatness and help us awaken to our individual and collective authentic purpose.

Free yoga classes, free live music (from some of the best around!), health educators, art classes, and health sessions, such as: crystal bowls, sound therapy, massage, acupuncture and more were enjoyed by hundreds of participants. As well as, we enjoyed healthy food, visiting with pets up for adoption, meeting new visual artists, and more.

Our fantastic sponsors even provided a huge tent for us out in the center green lawn, with tables and chairs for everyone to relax in the shade as desired.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed musical performances by: Duo Vida, Billy Mays III / Infinite Third, Jordyn Zentz, Eluv, Lindy Romez & Sol Y Mar, Latin Rendezvous, and Samadhi. Some people danced, others performed with their hula-hoops and continued their yoga on the lawn while watching and listening to the live music.

Our drum circle for closing ceremonies on Sunday was one of the grandest in Florida! Keep us in mind for next year… and we’ll work to give you the most aWEsOMe awakening, heart-expanding, and soul-connecting time!

7th annual Awakening Into The Sun FREE health and wellness festival in St. Petersburg, Florida

7th annual Awakening Into The Sun FREE yoga, music, and arts outdoor festival is March 2nd and 3rd, 2019

This will be our best and grandest festival yet! The festival’s 7th year is sure to be the one FREE health and wellness events that will be talked about all year long, so don’t miss it!

Over the last six years, the Awakening Into The Sun festival has been the muse to many an artist. Artists who inspire prosperous and expansive consciousness in the world. We learn, grow, and LOVE! Learn about our mission to water your seeds of greatness and help you awaken to your authentic purpose.

We’re going to have free yoga classes, free live music (and folks, these are some of the best around!), health educators, art classes*, and health sessions* such as: crystal bowls, sound therapy, massage, acupuncture and more. As well as, healthy food, pets, art, and lots of sights and sounds to behold.

*Note: Fees will be charged for art classes and certain health sessions.

And there will be lots of vendors (previous years included about 90), of which you can meet and greet, ask questions, sample products, and bring home the items best suited for you and your loved ones.

If you have a marriage license and desire to be wed at the festival, come to the band area–I’m the emcee for the event both days and a Florida licensed notary public and LOVE to marry couples in love! Imagine the blessings you’ll receive from getting married at this holistic event!

For those who have attended in years past, the musical performers you know and love will be joining us again: Duo Vida, Billy Mays III / Infinite Third, Jordyn Zentz, and Eluv (on Saturday); We will also enjoy the luxurious sounds of Lindy Romez & Sol Y Mar, and Latin Rendezvous (on Sunday); Samadhi new to the event this year, will also perform on Sunday. Let’s all of us give our aWEsOMe performers a sunny Florida welcome! I am super excited to see them all again and meet Samadhi!

Then on Sunday about 4pm, we’ll begin gathering for the closing ceremonies, which will be highlighted by the largest drum circle in Florida! Bring your drum, bring your rattles and Tingsha cymbals (I’ll have mine!), and prepare to experience an aWEsOMe awakening, heart-expanding, and soul-connecting time!
