Here’s the two-hundred-sixty-second new music post for 2024, as I consistently open your senses to a new original song. This one’s about a cowboy, so get your boots on!

The dentist visit went well

I wore my FREEDOM Super Patch to help turn off any pain during the visit, and I believe it worked! Plus, during the whole time in the dental chair, I moved my conscious thoughts to my toes, fingers, and other parts of my body (by doing specific little practices that I teach). This helped me to focus my mind elsewhere in the body, a holistic approach, versus waiting to be poked or prodded the wrong way, or expect to feel pain in association with the work being done.

Because my daughter’s ortho appointment had been moved up to 12:30 pm instead of 1 pm (she’d asked for 1 pm and had it booked that way because of my preceding dental appointment), I suggested she leave me at the dentist and go ahead and go to her appointment. And she did. I was feeling that comfortable with the dentist and his assistant! Something I had not been very sure about the first time there, so again, I noticed my improved comfort level.

The dentist was very gentle, I didn’t even feel the needle when he numbed my jaw. And I know that’s a hard nerve to numb, after so many prior dental visits for work on back molars. Oh, and he even counted down as the numbing agent went in so I would know it was about over. I think he must work on children and nervous adults. He has quite the gentle manner and demeanor. We decided to fill a cavity at the gemlike (I’d told him I had felt there was something wrong with that tooth, which is why I had wanted it pulled). But he advised I try to keep it a bit longer since it will help secure the lower partial plate. I know they took all the x-rays (which I paid for), in order to have a way to convince me to keep my teeth–it bolsters their side of the argument, I guess one could say. And though this is going to cost me more money than just having the teeth removed and getting full dentures, I suppose I can live with it. At the moment, I am still about 50/50 on whether a partial is better than a denture. But okay.

Speaking of surprises

Since I got the check for $1,156. from the Florida dentist the other day, I am more inclined to spend it on my mouth now. Can you believe it took them so long to get that refund to me? It will be 3 years in December that they’ve owed me over a thousand dollars! It makes me wonder how many other dentists, doctors, hospitals, etc. hold money on patient accounts and never return it! One of the photos I didn’t post from our walk back from the restaurant yesterday, shows the bench from our local Irish pub which I’ve been to, but we haven’t taken Richard yet, since we moved. The two-story building in the background is the opera house where artists from the area (mostly tribute bands) come to play.
