Integrating the Spirals: On the past

My daughter and I had a long conversation last night.

She talked with me about trauma and I intently listened. She told me about a great Gabor Mate and Mel Robbins YouTube video she’d watched.

I told her about the three year old Shawn Ryan podcast I’d just finally watched (with Lee Strobel as Shawn’s guest).

We talked about Elon. And I went on a short rant about how Elon Musk was the Left’s darling when he was a Democrat and did business in California (we still see Teslas in many of the TV shows and movies we watch–they used to LOVE him!), but they cast him aside and encouraged people to throw Molotov cocktails at Teslas and Tesla dealerships when Elon joined forces with Trump and set out to uncover government waste and abuse with DOGE).

We talked about Pharma. And I brought up the chat I’d had with a fellow blogger, which I wrap up later in this blog article. I explained Homeopathy and how Pharma pushed it aside and took over health, much like the whole pyramid scheme Insurance industry has convinced people that they must pay them for “peace of mind.” (And I have called BS on THAT for decades! My parents didn’t believe in paying for insurance either, after my mom worked as a fire/property casualty insurance agent for several years when I was young.)

We talked about when my dad, my children’s papaw, and how after he passed away I never really grieved for him (as I thought I would) because I’d had that vision of his soul departing (https://sheilamurrey.net/2019/04/19/a-surreal-vision-of-soul-departing/). That vision changed my whole world view about death, though granted, it had been changing a lot prior to, which I wrote about in Blue Eyes: Ethereal Messages of Connection. (Find links for my books at the end of this blog article.)

After our conversation, a few thoughts on the past (past events) came up for me:

I was bulled from the time I was young, perhaps 4 or 5–before Kindergarten, by a neighbor girl whose mother said, “She plays hard/rough with her cousins.” We were both only children and the same age, so my mom almost didn’t believe I was getting beat on, bitten, hair pulled, etc. until I came in with marks on me! Then the two moms had to agree that the girl and I couldn’t play together anymore. But we lived just a few houses apart from each other, so it made things challenging for a few years as she’d try to get other kids to play on her side and that upset me. I have always taken up for the “underdog.” And yes, sometimes that’s come back to bite me, because the person I thought was an underdog was really a bully (in disguise or because they hadn’t fully healed their own wounds).

My mission now is to untangle as much as I can on the topic of “the need to Control” (which I maintain is the opposite of Freedom), so our three granddaughters don’t suffer bullying–two have already told me they’ve been bullied, which makes me mad and sad.

Many years (from the time I was in my late twenties to mid thirties), I attracted a bully/drug-addict husband who hit me and even once fired a gun at me! (I never pressed charges but did get a restraining order when he got into my secured office building after hours one day and started screaming all through the building to find me in my bosses office working over time. I was so humiliated and embarrassed. I made a plan to leave and got out as soon as I could. I had two children from my first husband so it made leaving that second one even more challenging. I still feel guilty for putting my children through the experience of living with that man for several years.

I believe much of this boils down to people feeling the need to Control–EVERYTHING. And when people feel out of Control internally, they try to Control everything externally, that is outside of themselves in their external environment. And that’s when the problem began.

From chats and comments

Certain words still challenge/trigger me. I’m a work in progress. I’m not perfect (nobody is). I’m human. I am an introvert by nature and is probably why Buddhism attracts me, but over the years, due to having to work full-time to support two children (mostly as a single parent, even when I was married), I had to learn how to talk with people, actively listen, engage, earn trust, elicit responses, even speak in public (though I learned to sing in front of an audience at an early age in school and in church).

I prefer nature to man-made anything. When I hear words like MISINFORMATION, I tend to go on a rant. Sorry. Not sorry. It’s who I am.

The following are last two comments I made on a fellow blogger’s article:

Searching on the phrase, “Nurse authors in Aromatherapy,” offers a great source of information. I hear you about not wanting to complete an Aromatherapy course/certification at this point in life. And not giving advice out of one’s depth.

I wrote my holistic health book from personal experience, one’s anecdotal evidence of how I continued to uncover and experiment to find solutions to several health issues. I doubted whether it would sell and experienced procrastination for years while writing it and still bump up against the psychological pitfalls or syndromes that it won’t sell, but as a writer and analyst, I wanted to document my journey to support the few others, or my family, who might be so inclined to take it upon themselves to relieve any suffering. Perhaps it was my way of Paying it Forward in service to humanity. I don’t know.

I am now embarking on writing a thesis kind of metaphysical book that challenges my mind each time I read research for it, much less choose what to include or remove from the manuscript. It’s quite an ambitious undertaking! I hope it sells, but even if it doesn’t, I will have stretched myself in untold ways—and it’s definitely more inspiring than knitting or working a puzzle to engage my aging brain! Ha!

I don’t want to go back to school either, as I am way too good at challenging myself these days without some professor beating me over the head.

The last comment on this subject I wrote to the same fellow blogger:

Now, if we could only get the doctors and other health professionals who guide governments to follow the leanings you have so aptly expressed. Look at the harm ‘they’ have caused!

But yes, I hear you. I state many times in my book that I am not a doctor and believe in interviewing any and all health professionals we hire to work on our bodies to ensure they “do no harm” as the  Hippocratic Oath dictates. Oh, for a brain trust of doctors like Dr. McCullough who are actual practicing doctors, i.e. The Frontline Doctors, and those who signed The Great Barrington Declaration to lead political health directives instead of a talking head (Fauxi) who never treated one Covid patient, to guide us during any other pandemic! I agree. Books are time capsules. (That’s why I prefer writing blogs I can update, versus writing books.) Science progresses. We need real-time critical information and egoless thinking next time around.

While I hope my holistic health book helps at least one person, I wrote it primarily to expand people’s belief in their body’s ability to heal. So many have forgotten that (until they cut their finger).

Thank you again for this discourse. You can tell how passionate I am about healing. ❤️‍🩹

And your gentleness does help me balance when I rant. OM

At this point I felt our comment/chat conversation had gone “full circle.” I haven’t heard back and hope he’s okay. I so enjoy our chats.

In closing

Separately, and to close this particular blog post article, I will say that as for some Democrats (because I know not all of them are bullies, sore losers, or the like), I feel this post sums them up, regarding some of the more crazy insane antics they’ve pulled recently:

‘Thrive in 25’ – New Release! The Bullies music video

Can you sense my excitement from the subject line/headline of this blog article? This is one of the most important songs I’ve worked on to date. And it’s all about bullying. So many people deal with this, and I share a deep feeling on this topic in my soul.

Music video of one of Sheila’s newest original songs, The Bullies! Let us know what you think in the comments. And PLEASE SHARE!

The Bullies an anti-bullying song, was inspired from my reading of Michael LeFevre’s book, He Was Weird. I’ve been meeting Michael, the man behind the blogs: 80smetalman and Peaceful Rampage on Zoom. We’ve been discussing his books, He Was Weird and his in progress sequel, He Was Weird 2 (working title).

You may remember he shared two versions of this song on his blog: https://peacefulrampage.wordpress.com/2025/01/18/two-versions-of-a-great-anti-bullying-song/

While talking about these books, I couldn’t help relive my experiences on the subject of bullying, I knew I had to get this video done so it could go far and wide. I feel I have several methods that can help children and adults regain their sense of power of the bullies in their lives. The video highlights some of the tools I use.

I’m busy almost everyday in Suno AI working on more original songs. I am enjoying the process… and I think that’s my point here. To enjoy (IN Joy) each day. And don’t let the bullies win.

Expanding Consciousness thought of the day

Isn’t it funny that those who are no longer relevant and interfere with our ability to choose from Love seem to disappear from our lives?

I got one of those ‘new friend’ chat messages from Truth Social, X, or GETTR (I forget which one), asking me what I do for a living. Ha! My response:

It’s all on my Profile dear heart. I’m retired, writing books, promoting our original music. Sharing Super Patches for holistic health. (I didn’t used to say ‘dear’ before and always felt it a huge interruption in my day. But I’m learning to be kind.) When we know better, we do better. Right?

All things multiverse

I signed up for this weekly Business Networking session on LinkedIn and then realized Genava’s last name! It’s the same as Michael’s (80smetalman) author of He Was Weird, and blogger of https://peacefulrampage.wordpress.com/ and https://80smetalman.wordpress.com! Now, is this another example of the synchronicity of the multiverse?

‘Thrive in 25’ – Book Review: “He Was Weird”

I am grateful for fellow authors and blogger pals, like Michael D. LeFevre, author of He Was Weird.

Once you read, He Was Weird, the story will stick with you. Within the pages of this book is a multifaceted story that holds deep meaning for parents, teenagers, teachers, and those in authority. The story of will grip you. It won’t let you go until you reach the final conclusion, which isn’t simply what the boy does, or why, but how his actions change (both directly and indirectly) all of those around him.

While reading the first few chapters, it occurred to me that I wasn’t the target audience for this book because “I’m not a sports person,” nor do I have teenage children. I’m not a school teacher, or authoritarian figure who might influence a teen either. I wondered if I could make it through the book! But we do have a 13-year old granddaughter who is on the Autism spectrum. We think she’s outgrown most of it, but we do still find that she needs help, like more time to complete her school assignments. My daughter works with said granddaughter’s teachers and school administrators to give her that extra allotment of time, thankfully. But other kids have bullied our granddaughter and I’ve offered her the same advice my mother gave me when I was little. I was bullied from the time I was in kindergarten. Ah! So, there’s the touch point.

The more I read of the bullying our main character endured, the more hooked I became in this book. Though the story is about a boy, I could still relate a bit. Especially the name calling. Even as a girl, I got physically hit, had hair pulled, and had toys broken when I was little, so there’s that. But overall, I think the bullying made me think less of myself–it dropped my sense of ‘self esteem’. And in this case, for a young boy on the Autism spectrum who suffered deficits in attention, motor control, and perception (DAMP), it was so much worse. I connected with him, while thinking of my granddaughter and how she absorbs words and actions deeply, and as some would say, “takes EVERYTHING to heart.”

Book cover: He Was Weird, by Michael D. LeFevre

I won’t give you spoilers because there’s so much action within the pages of He Was Weird. Besides the main characters, there are many others you will get to know. There are characters you’ll love and several you’ll want to hate. There will be characters you’ll side with and those you’ll want to kick out of the job or office they’re in. I sympathized with several and couldn’t imagine living in their shoes. And there were many I would never want to know, much less live near. But I don’t want to spoil it for you. I will say, be prepared to sit with this book and learn lessons from it. There’s plenty of blame to go around by the end. This book is engaging and potentially life-saving. You’ll see.
