I feel like I’ve written this before (and I have, but in a different way), but after submitting the following ‘meat’ to a fellow blogger here on WordPress, I felt compelled to offer additional details.

I visited Washington D.C. many times, over two decades ago. The National Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the Lincoln Memorial, and the National Portrait Gallery were favorites. The Vietnam War Memorial and Arlington Cemetery too. There is so much history to immerse one’s Self in there. While I find it amusing now to see that the very leaders who spout ‘climate change’ are the one’s trying to get us all blown up in WWIII and doing weather modification stuff, I came away from D.C. more agitated than some. I went as a Christian and after visiting Ireland, England, and Scotland sacred sites in 2019, became Daoist, Buddhist, and near Pagan. Ha! We ALL need to open and revere the Life on this planet that gave rise to our lives. We need to embrace our history, and learn how precious life is, albeit small and fleeting. What a gift it is for us to breathe!

I thought I might write a brief list, as a sort of culmination of the high points as to what has informed my Spirituality. Maybe this will help my readers understand me better. Maybe not. But at least I will have written it down. Smiling.

What has informed my Spirituality

• I experienced controversy within the church I was raised in. I was raised ‘Christian’ in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the original ‘Mormon’ church, yes, the church Joseph Smith, Jr. founded in Fayette, NY in 1830. Joseph Smith Jr. was murdered when he was 38 years of age and his son, Joseph Smith III took over as president of the church. In the years before I left the church, it changed several basic tenants of the faith, as well as their name (to The Community of Christ).
• My maternal grandmother was a Native American healer (though she would not have called herself that, but she could ‘take the fire out’ of burns, and performed this healing many times on my mother and me. My uncle has this gift as well;
• Experienced healing of colitis (at a young age) via Laying on of Hands from the elders of our church (I had been to the hospital and experience trauma during the exam, so my mom called on the elders of our church to come to our home and ‘administer’ to me–that is what it is called.)
• Baptized in the RLDS church at 8 years of age. The age of accountability, as we were taught. I wanted to take communion with my mom, grandmother, and aunts, and uncle. (My dad was a non-practicing Methodist and rarely ever attended the RLDS services with mom, me, and the majority of my mother’s family).
• Questioning many things involving ‘the church’ and though I have an uncle in the priesthood, I still do not have answers to my questions–at most, I have received some theories;
• Experiencing the direct power of God when my daughter was less than one-year old, after a Christmas church service with my mom. This occurred when a man hit my mom’s car while we were sitting in a 7-11 parking lot (it’s a story of its own);
• Attending various other Christian churches that touched my spirit, such as Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Interdenominational, Unity, and Non-denominational either by attending with friends (such as singing in Baptist churches as a teenager with my best friend, Doris), and attending Catholic Churches (my two ex-husbands were Catholic).
• Leaving my church, yet honoring my maternal grandparents (their ancestors, my mother, and many other family members), who either physically built, or gave thousands of dollars over the course of their lives to building, RLDS churches and a temple in Independence, Missouri.
• Baptized (again) in the ocean (in my late twenties) before marrying my second (ex) husband. Yes, we had pre-marital counseling with the pastor too, and the ex converted to the Interdenominational church from Catholicism prior to the pastor agreeing to marrying us. And what a disaster (sham) that turned out to be–the church and the marriage.
• Experienced returning to the RLDS church (within a small home church study group) where I could teach about the Book of Mormon syntax (a Hebraisms writing style called, Chiasmus, where the first and third passages convey a similar meaning, and the second and fourth verses convey the same, with a turning point in the middle of these (or main idea).
• Catching myself arguing with many Christians over dogma and Biblical teachings over the years. And listening to my mom discuss, and also argue particular points. I will have no part in religious arguments anymore;
• Attended several 12-step programs with the second (ex) husband;
• Attended my first Unity church and hearing the words, Mother Father God;
• Realizing there was so much more to God, Holy Spirit, and all things spiritual, in my early thirties after concluding God was not going to change my second (ex) husband and save our marriage. I had prayed for the first (ex) husband too, to no avail. Eventually, realizing the person has to want to be saved and change;
• Meeting and marrying the love-of-my-life, Richard. It’s incredible how many things had to occur in each of our lives for us to meet and appreciate each other. Richard would educate me more than any other, except for maybe my mom, about the Bible (with its so many translations), world history, origin of many cultures and religions–and he’s not a fan of Joseph Smith Jr. or the LDS faith.
• Experiencing GodBumps while working at the Kennedy Space Center while talking with a Christian coworker;
• Fasting, and severely restricting certain foods, such as limiting myself by following highly structured diets like the Essene diet, Sacred Science detox, the raw vegan diet, and WildFit
• Reading (and intensely studying various spiritual materials and testing their reliability within my daily life, such as Christ in You by Anonymous, Soul Explorer by Patricia McGivern, Theosophy books, and audio recordings and books by Abraham-Hicks);
• Learning to meditate from different groups, Buddhists and Daoists;
• Practicing Mindfulness (not the same as meditation)
• Learning to practice Yoga and Qigong, from different masters to cultivate and control the mind and body using breath work
• Experiencing hypnosis and past-life regression sessions;
• Visiting and Connecting with the Energies of Knowth and Newgrange in Ireland in 2019 (two separate visits, first in July and second in December during Winter Solstice), happening upon a deer family as I walked the Wicklow Way at Glendalough, Ireland, and being stung by the stinging nettle at St. Kevin’s Well on the hotel grounds there also. I felt a shift in me while sitting in meditation inside the stone circle of Stonehenge in England, and also when I touched and hugged the ancient Yew tree behind Rosslyn Castle in Scotland. I explain these events in more detail in the previous posts [links forthcoming at the end].
• Sun gazing
• I continue to receive divine revelation (and healings) during times of seated meditation, hypnosis and past-life regression sessions (individual and groups), and during massage therapy and acupuncture sessions. I continue to receive messages via words ‘dropping into my mind’ during meditation, and during night time dreams and visions (which I wrote about in the book, Blue Eyes: Ethereal Messages of Connection).

Not just because I connect the dots, spotting patterns and trends, but because I have a deep desire to understand and be understood! Aha! Profound!
And in all things, humility is paramount.
