Flip side of the coin

While sexting or sexy texting is fun, flirty, and frivolous (a seemingly “it’s isn’t hurting anyone”) activity, there can be downsides if one is doing these things outside of a monogamous relationship/marriage. Be warned, texting/sexting can be addictive and lead to trouble.

Unfortunately, while I love this song, it does remind me of a negative situation. Within my family, one of the guys became so addicted to sexting that it broke up his marriage. I won’t go into the details as it isn’t my story to tell, but suffice to say, it was hell on his wife. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Not everyone can slough off misdeeds (like sexting to others) of their partners, so be forewarned and aware, too much (yes, even of a good thing) can create troubles where otherwise there’d be none. It’s taken me years to “get over” all that.

It’s June 6th, 2024; We have an original pop-rock song that tells the tale about a truck that drinks. This song was written (music and lyrics) by my rockin’ husband Richard Murrey. This upbeat rock song shows off vocals from Bubba Hudson. Here’s the one-hundred-fifty-eighth new music post for 2024, as I consistently plug away at entertaining you with an original song each day this year. Can you believe nearly half of the year is done already? Now, on with the song:

Truckin’

How many of you drive a truck? A lot of people in my family have been truck drivers. Some owned their trucks, others did not. My maternal grandfather was a trucker. My dad and uncle were truckers. Several of my third cousins were truckers (even one of the girls)! I used to ride with my dad in his truck a few times. He used to tell me stories about his truck-driving adventures.

One of Dad’s stories involved the time he dropped a cigarette in his lap. I think it scared him so bad, that was the end of his smoking. He told me he crumpled the pack up and threw it out.

Most of my family members worked on their own trucks too, fixing mechanical issues, changing the oil, changing tired, and so on. They did real handyman things–always troubleshooting. I think that’s what made me so analytical.

Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. Even if your truck drinks, if you need the truck to get from point A to B, or deliver goods and services, feed it what it needs. Your truck will thank you for taking good care of it. Come to think of it, so will your body.

How do we make friends?

Here’s the one-hundred-fifty-seventh new music post for 2024, as I make consistent forward motion to entertain and please my readers (and perhaps draw in some new ones) by sharing unique music and words.

Be a friend

I bet each of us thinks we’re a good friend to someone. My mom raised me to be a good friend. She taught me the value of loyalty and trust. She always encouraged me to keep someone’s secret, even if I felt compelled to share it with ‘just one other person.’ Mom told me that if someone told me something about someone else, they’d talk about me to others. I never forgot that. She also told me that trust is foundational to being a good friend and maintaining a real friendship. 

I think honoring our friends with calls, letters, or such (to keep and strengthen the connection) is also vital in these days and times when it’s so easy to become distracted by information overload.

Book Review: “Ariel’s Song” fascinating book of poetry by Dawn Pisturino

I’m a slow reader, especially when I read a few pages of any book and seek the similarities and synchronicities it raises in my life. Thus, my apologies to Dawn for taking so long to post my review of Ariel’s Song, her lovely book of poetry.

I love how Dawn organized her book, with genuine Acknowledgments and a Dedication to her daughter, Ariel. I love that Dawn’s poems are poignant and reach deep into one’s soul. I find her words authentic and fascinating, even on subjects one may not explore often if at all.

I’m usually not one to seek out and buy books of poetry, but I do have three on the Kindle app on my phone and I will often read a few pages before I go to sleep (unless I am charging my phone in another room). We turn off our WiFi at night but now, but I get good service on my phone in our new location, so I have picked up nighttime reading again. I do have a reading light and several paperback books, but holding them and turning pages annoys me when I am sleepy. As well, I love to highlight and search within the Kindle books, so there’s that.

I’m quite happy to have Dawn’s book on my phone (in my Kindle app), so I can reference any of her poems whenever I wish. Though I like and love several of her poems, I know me. I will pick it up again in a year or so and find that others will resonate with me. That’s how reading goes for me. For now though, I will share my list of favorites with you next.

June 3rd – Old school sugar daddy

It’s June 3rd, 2024; We have an original rock song about the guy who raised two wives (before me). Yes, this is a true story song written (music and lyrics) by my incredible husband Richard Murrey. Bubba Hudson lent us his voice on this song and the production mix was skillfully mastered by Steven Cooper in his Nashville, TN, music studio. I imagine there were some laughs in the studio while this was being recorded/mixed. Ha!

Teaching in a new way

Here’s the one-hundred-fifty-fifth new music post for 2024, as I consistently press forward with an original song to uplift, educate, and entertain. When I first met Richard, I felt bad for him that he’d gone through so much with his two previous marriages, but later I realized, I’m glad he appreciates me more from having lived through the previous two! Ha!

Who we are today

I believe we are who we are today based on all we’ve experienced in the past. Of course, the more we can laugh while going through the process, the better, but sometimes our journeys are too difficult (to laugh at the time).

Results from my first art class

I’ve been so focused on marketing our original music, that you may have forgotten that I’m working on my 5th book–I forget much of the time too! I’m still researching for the book with no release date in mind yet (though I am speaking with a book publisher this week). As well, my daughter got me out of the house last night to take an art class. If you would rather listen instead of read, play the audio (and there’s a few minutes of BONUS info on the audio this time too!):

Art class

It couldn’t have been a better subject than a Highland cow or Hairy Coo (as they are called in Scotland). Having seen Hairy Coo in Scotland (in 2019) I thought I’d do better on this. I think my daughter’s version turned out much better than mine, not that it was a competition. She’s been working at the art studio for two years and has picked up a lot of great ideas, though I do believe she’s a natural at this (see the last picture from her Facebook post of us).

This is what I started with (my daughter does most all of the tracings for every class at the studio).
This was the model and what we were aiming to do. Our teacher, Jeanie, encouraged us to take a photo of the model so we could zoom in on our phones to see the details. That didn’t help me toward the end though as I didn’t add the green leaves and little dots of flowers on the coo’s head. I almost forgot the white dots on the butterfly and the blue in the coo’s eyes too! Ha!
Almost done. I added the blue to the eyes but had not added the white dots to the butterfly yet.
I think my Hairy Coo looks great at home on the new white bedside table I got in from Etsy.

I really enjoyed painting, but I will say, that I observed us during the class, and aside from a little, “What did she say we do now?” and the like, my daughter and I were very focused on our art pieces. Others in the class were talking, laughing, and drinking (yes, it was a bring-your-own wine event), and while we were enjoying ourselves, I only got down about half of my cup of wine spritzer. I saw myself as being very serious and diligent in my ‘work.’

Preachin’ a new way

Here’s the one-hundred-fifty-fourth new music post for 2024, as I consistently shower ALL with an original song daily to uplift, educate, and entertain. You may preach it your way, but are you walkin’ that path? All fall short. Nobody’s perfect. So, one who walks His talk is rare. I think that’s why He garners much attention, faithfulness, and adoration–yes, even 2,000 years after He walked the earth.

Intention comes before The Word

I believe that when Omniscience God made ‘The Word’ flesh, it was the Intention that manifested as the flesh. This is how ‘The Word’ became flesh. Everything begins with an intention, then thought, word, and deed.

It’s June 1st, 2024; We have an original country song about loving someone. Love is perhaps the feeling that lasts the longest–even throughout eternity. This love song was written (music and lyrics) by my extraordinary husband Richard Murrey, sung by Bubba Hudson, and professionally produced by Steven Cooper in his Nashville, TN, music studio.

May 30th – Take the love

It’s May 30th, 2024; We have a mid-tempo original country song that could apply to anyone who has had a loving relationship end. It expresses the feeling of someone leaving the other behind and the things they might say to the person as they walk out the door. This departure song was written (music and lyrics) by my dear Richard Murrey and skillfully produced by Steven Cooper in his Nashville, TN, music studio.

Take the love and memories right or wrong

When relationships come to an end there are usually both good and not-so-good memories attached to them. In a line of this song, the singer asks the person leaving to take the love and memories with them, whether the memories were right or wrong. In my interpretation and experience, it’s easier to let go of the good memories and hold onto the bad ones; it lessens the pain of their leaving. It’s easier to be mad for a while. I find anger easier to deal with than grief–it seems to pass through me quickly. I can scream into a pillow and get over that faster than I can lay around sad, crying, or pondering the “what could have been” topics.

Of course, there are always easier ways of coping and releasing any ill feelings, such as the following prayer I found on Facebook:

Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. There’s usually a peaceful and healthy way to resolve most negative issues, but one does have to be open and willing to try something new.

May 29th – Peace in 1945 and a family story about a love affair that was radioactive

It’s May 29th, 2024; We have an upbeat original song that’s a true story about a wonderful family during the Atomic bomb age. This lively song was penned by my adorable Richard Murrey and produced by Steven Cooper of Nashville, TN. 

Becoming each other’s spouse

Here’s the one-hundred-fiftieth new music post for 2024, as I consistently present an original song sure to entertain, and perhaps, educate the masses. This is a lively upbeat story song about Richard’s aunt Millie and her husband, P.J. It’s a true story set in the historical ‘Secret City’ in Tennessee, USA.

My memories of Aunt Millie and the Secret City where she and Uncle P.J. lived and worked

If you don’t know the American history of the ‘Secret City,’ I’d encourage you to look it up. If you don’t think a government can maintain a lie (for years), it’s a prime example that they can! Visiting Oak Ridge, TN, with my husband and his Aunt Millie and Uncle P.J. a few times nearly twenty years ago was an eye-opener! The city had everything! Schools, churches, shopping areas, etc.–all behind a guard gate! For years, people who lived in Knoxville, TN (some 30 miles away) didn’t even know Oak Ridge existed, much less what the people were working on who lived there! 

Aunt Millie was the one I give sole credit to for suggesting I find another way around the asthma I’d been suffering with (since age 6) and finding a cure instead of simply putting a bandage on it by taking 5 Pharma meds. Millie had been getting acupuncture for a weird nerve issue and thought I might give it a try to see if it would reduce the asthma symptoms. Little did she know it then, but her idea literally healed me of the asthma I’d experienced for decades! After I healed, that’s when I began documenting all I’d done, which eventually became the book Have Yourself a Wholly Vibrant Life: Reversing Asthma and Other Chronic Illness Naturally!
