It’s April 30th, 2024; Here’s an original rock song about extraterrestrials! Yes, go figure. A song about E.T. makes sense from a couple who used to work for the Space Center, eh? Haha! We’ve got the E.T. Blues indeed. Humorous lyrics and a swingin’ sound. What could be better! And we even get a tad political in this one too. LOL! This is another one of my favorite songs. Yes, The Fifth Element is a favorite movie and I believe songs like, Energy, certainly deserve a space and place in a film like that. Someone has to be making a movie or show that this song could get plugged into. Right?

Here’s the one-hundred-nineteenth new music post for 2024, as I consistently plug our original songs. Songs that my dear husband wrote over 40 years. Some years he wrote many songs (when he lived alone in Bishop, CA) and some years not as much. But collectively, to write over 400 songs? Well, I agree that’s quite an achievement. And all because he’s such an observer of people and life!
A heart full of music
Richard Murrey has a heart full of music, that’s for sure. And this duet is a splendid example of that. He grew up playing guitar and so did his twin brothers. One of the best moments in our lives was getting Richard, Bill, and Tony together (several years ago) to sit around the house and play. I will treasure the memory of that! To me, it was as good as if we had gone to the Opry. A personal concert!

Here’s the one-hundred-eighteenth new music post for 2024, as I consistently show off our big ones. Be sure and listen to the end for the spoken tidbits. I know this song is a lot of tongue-in-cheek (or somewhere else), but it used to be one of the songs I didn’t play much.
Close to the heart
Lots of our songs touch the heart, and this one is sure close to the heart! Ha! And why can’t women simply be happy with what they’ve got?
I created the following meme on Facebook after my 59th Facebook ‘Story’ where women were either baring their breasts or rears. I know each of these people must have had their Facebook account hacked. I can’t believe any regular woman would post such vulgarity. Yes, this might have been me overreacting, but it’s still my opinion. Did I go too far? Ha!
Spiral thought: I often wonder why women feel the need to show off their boobs, or get bigger ones? Who’s judging them?

Singing about Feelings
Here’s the one-hundred-sixteenth new music post for 2024, as I consistently post an original song to help us get in touch with our feelings. Feeling like a woman seems to be all the rage these days too, so perhaps this is timely?
Feeling it?
I talk a lot about feelings. I know some have told us to ignore our feelings and lean toward right action instead (such as preachers who say feelings can lead us astray), but I believe feelings are a gift from Omniscience God. The issue is more that people don’t feel their feelings and honor their feelings. People don’t often feel and use their feelings for the reason they’ve been given to us to use them for! When we feel scared, for example, we need to fight or flee! When we feel sick we need to leave the situation or take better care of ourselves. In almost every scenario I can think of, feelings can lead us out of darkness, and help us make a healthier choice!
We can only control our thoughts and actions and hope to leave people feeling better about our interaction–we can’t control how others feel. I can’t control how trees bloom, but I can nurture the ground they grow in and prune them at the right time.

We reap what we sow
Yes, I believe it’s true that we reap what we sow. By practicing my Integrating the Spirals process, I continue to see the effects of the seasons in both increasing my awareness to see MORE, my ability to sow seeds, and the growth (or forward progress) I am making in life.

On this Earth Day be sure to thank the dirt for all it’s done for us, the soil to grow our food, the ground that provides us with (almost always) a solid surface to walk on, and the gravity to keep us on the planet and strengthen our bones.
We are made of star stuff
Yes, we’re made of star stuff but without the Earth, where would we be? Even when we question the horrible things that occur on the planet, we are 8 Billion people trying to ‘get along’ and we’re bound to screw up occasionally. the Bible says, “…the meek shall inherit the Earth.” Perhaps I am the meek.
