Today is the day! I am resurrecting the Rose of Jericho plant my soulie sister and fellow blogger, Debra sent me months ago. Debra was so gracious to send me this amazing plant and I will definitely think of her every time I look at it.

My version of resurrecting a Rose of Jericho

I placed many small crystals in the deep dish pie plate I made last year (I’ve done 3 of these painting classes so far). I covered the crystals with some new pine bark bits that were leftover from repotting my orchids. A bit of purified water and this is how the Rose of Jericho looks:

I’ll post another photo tomorrow and we’ll see how it looks!

Here’s the whole top shelf with the two repotted orchids (my first attempt at repotting orchids, so fingers crossed! Ha!

Orchids from Florida repotted and ‘watered’ with ice cubes per the directions that came with the first one when it was given to us.

I now see where I have been remiss to post the photos of the two empty art hand-painted bowls. I never took a finished photo of the deep dish pie plate, but it’s similar to the bowls just in a deeper blue.

I found one or two previous posts where I had shown the painting of the bowls in progress but never completed (after they came out of the kiln), so I will show the completed bowls now:

Integrating the Spirals: Herbs. I love nature’s way

I thought I’d share a quick post to capture some comments I just made to a fellow blogger, on what led me to write the book, Have Yourself a Wholly Vibrant Life: Reversing Asthma and Other Chronic Illness Naturally, and why I love nature’s way of healing using herbs! (And yes, Richard got me pronouncing ‘herbs’ with the H sound at the beginning as I’d always learned/heard it pronounced ‘erbs.’ but that’s why stay ‘open to receive’ new knowledge all the time. Ha!

From chats and comments

When things like this come up during my social media chats/comments, I capture them, but I have sooo many, that I don’t often take the time to turn them into a blog post. Today’s an exception. I thought this was important to share since many of us are just now getting back outside and planting a garden or flowers.

If you’re scared of nature, it can feel intimidating, I know. But I’m teaching our twin 8 year old granddaughters to embrace, not fear, nature. Yes, things can happen, like bee stings, and they’ve happened to me too, but there are natural cures! Nature always provides a way!

The beginning of our chat, when I speak of Frankie Fella, a very curious cat who seems to love bees while outside in the garden.
This discussion about Frankie and the bees led to my recall of a time I was once stung by a wasp!
Since I can’t use the word, ‘cure’ in my book or marketing it, I sometimes use it in comments or conversation. It definitely packs more of a punch than ‘reversing’ asthma. I usually don’t go into this much of my history, but this comment is with a longtime blogger pal, so there’s that.
When the subject of anaphylactic shock came up, I thought I would acknowledge that it’s quite serious, while other stings can be gently remedied in the moment we’re out in nature. Obviously, now that some of us have developed such intense allergies, due to our toxic environment, medical treatment is advised.

A few of my favorite healing herbs

At the time of my commenting/chatting (as in the preceding screen captures), I was reading this article and choosing some herb seeds to plant:

Dandelion. I don’t have to plant this herb. It grows wild in our backyard and since we use no pesticides or herbicides, etc. I can eat it and make tea with it often. See the article at The Sacred Science site: https://www.thesacredscience.com/backyard-medicine

Yarrow. I grew this herb when we lived in Florida. It grew very well for me. And I needed it at that time. I used to harvest it and make a salve out of it with coconut oil. I used it for bug bites and skin rashes. I love it and will attempt to grow it in a pot here in New Hampshire though now I have cleared the issue that had once caused me to have skin rashes. Integrating the Spirals: Getting Fluoride out of drinking water

Three cheers for getting this neurotoxin, Fluoride, out of our tap water! We haven’t drank tap water for decades, but we still shower in it. With all the tooth decay still going on in people’s mouths, I can’t believe drinking fluoride has prevented one cavity.

From having worked at the CDC as a contractor during one of my last working years, I can tell you, people are human. Even when they KNOW all of these emails are part of the public record, they just cannot contain themselves or their language! I don’t doubt one bit that this is true:

I am all for removing artificial food dyes from food! Especially NOW that I’m learning they’re made from PETROLEUM! I mean, we’ve been told not to eat Vicks salve and Vaseline, but all the while (I don’t even want to know for how long), we’ve all been ingesting artificial food dyes made from petroleum?!? OMG!

Integrating the Spirals: Healing Tinnitus (Part 3)

Apparently, this tinnitus that I’m experiencing is going away any time soon. I mean, I hate to say it but to date, I’ve tried:

Chiropractic (that included masseter muscle massage and trigger point therapy on the jaw) and I continue to massage that masseter muscle, though it doesn’t hurt anymore, which is a good sign.

Acupuncture (have done 3 sessions so far–the dowsing rods tell me there’s no end to the number I’ll need)

And most recently, two supplements that are supposed to do the trick–GABA and Taurine. These are amino acids. I am taking them twice a day on an empty stomach. We’ll see.

An Open Letter to Those Who Think AI Art Isn’t Human Art

By Richard Murrey, a Songwriter, Artist, and Storyteller Who’s Seen It All

I’ve spent over 50 years creating.

Songs. Paintings. Stories.

But because there was something in me that needed to be shared with the world.

Not for fame. Not for fortune.

Today, I hear a lot of talk—especially from legal voices and internet critics—that “AI art isn’t real art,” that “you can’t copyright AI-generated work,” because, they say, it wasn’t made by a human.

To that, I say: You’ve missed the point entirely.

Yes, I use AI tools. I write songs with them. I bring old dreams to life with them.

But I don’t just press a button and walk away. I craft. I sculpt. I prompt.

And here’s what you don’t understand unless you’ve done it yourself:

The prompt is not a command—it’s a vision.

It’s a carefully chosen string of words, informed by a lifetime of experience.

It’s storytelling.

It’s composition.

It’s intention.

It’s authorship.

When I write a prompt, I’m not automating creativity—I’m collaborating with a tool. Just like a painter uses brushes. Just like a songwriter uses a guitar.

The brush doesn’t paint the picture.

The guitar doesn’t write the song.

And the AI doesn’t dream the dream.

I do.

Every prompt I write carries my voice. My style. My soul.

If you’ve never felt the rush of getting just the right tone, the right image, the right line from an AI that you guided into shape—then I understand why you might think it’s magic.

But let me assure you—it’s not magic. It’s craft.

And if copyright law doesn’t recognize that?

Well, then maybe it’s not the art that needs redefining.

Maybe it’s the law.

‘Thrive in 25’ – Exploring Calligraphy

It snowed again yesterday, so I found some examples of calligraphy I wanted to try with the new fountain pen I bought for myself for Christmas. Yes, I am a slow starter, though I was excited about it when I purchased it. But I have had renewed interest in this art form for several months thanks to a fellow blogger.
