viva la cerveza – Integrating the Spirals

It’s August 22nd, 2024; We have an original rock song for cerveza (beer) drinkers! Bubba Hudson delivers smooth, rockin’ vocals on this hot tamale song. Haha! (Yes, I also enjoy a cerveza once or twice a year)! If you too like a cerveza now and then, this is a rockin’, radio-ready song for you! Mucho gracias to Steven Cooper, Nashville, TN. Hot-cha!

Here’s the two-hundred-thirty-fifth new music post for 2024, as I consistently pour some hot new rock music out to the intellectually curious. This is a FUN story song! And a 1, and a 2…

From Ohio

I must tell you that I have emulated Chrissie Hynde’s voice for decades when I sing (Okay, yes, Tina Turner was a role model for me due to shared life experiences. My voice isn’t as gravelly as Tina’s and my natural tone likens more to Chrissie’s voice–because know someone will question me on this). Alas, this post from Max over at PowerPop about The Kinks and Chrissie really got me: https://powerpop.blog/2024/08/22/kinks-weeks-stop-your-sobbing-taotalk-com/

I’m not technically from Ohio, but I sang Chrissie’s song about Ohio many times (along with Brass in Pocket and Middle of the Road). But, I did grow up right across the river from Ohio (in WV). I also met my first husband in Ohio (and our daughter was born in Ohio–our son was born in West Virginia). While some people in WV dislike the ‘buckeyes’ in Ohio, I never did. I always loved Ohio. So, there’s that. And that’s probably what first drew me to Neil Young when he sang his song about Ohio too (plus I grew up during the time of the Kent state protests/killings). UGH!

Bummer, of sorts

Yes, I read about this last night, but now 1440 News also reports that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is probably going to drop out of the 2024 USA Presidential race and throw his support behind President Trump. UGH! Whatever.

Meme: “Me knowing no matter what the outcome is in November, I’ll be raising my kids (my granddaughters) to know that the government doesn’t actually have their best interest. Everything is a lie. The world is run by a group of pedophiles & I’ll do whatever it takes to keep them safe.” — Unknown (but sort of looks/sounds like Corey Feldman).

I’m so thankful that ALL my lived experiences help me truly SEE who I really am!

My comments – The least we can do

The reason I add comments on a variety of social media posts is because I love engagement. I love the connections we can build. I especially love it when we can communicate with grace and respect. And as I say a LOT, “The least we can do is entertain another’s view.”

Screen capture of my post from 2 years ago on Facebook. “Grace and respect. Bravo!! I’ve said for years, the least we can do is entertain another’s view. And I still stand behind that even if I have to remove a comment or unfriend someone. I read their words, sit with the message…” –Sheila Murrey on LinkedIn

I love all things Fractals

This is a subject of research that fascinates me. Fractals. From our fingerprints to seashells. A pineapple. A pinecone. Fractals continue to amaze me.

Everything happens for a reason

Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. Even if we have to disconnect from some people, for a time.

Enjoy (IN Joy) everything and love! Be Everything All the Time. Let’s soar in ’24!

Yours in expanding, timely, spiraling consciousness,

Sheila “Spiral Sister” Murrey
