My daughter and I took a jewelry making fused glass art class last Saturday night–a week ago. It was fun because we did it together, but it was more tedious to me than fun. I still prefer the glaze/paint/carve art we did a few weeks ago (the mugs: https://sheilamurrey.net/2025/03/06/thrive-in-25-art-class-mugs-back-from-the-kiln/)
Fused glass jewelry pieces
I went to class not knowing we would make more than one thing, so I had put no thought into what I might create. Perhaps this worked in my favor, because as I played around with different colors and sizes of pre-cut glass, I remembered how I love cairns when we’re out hiking. Thus, I decided to assemble several. And my daughter found the little butterfly glass rounds, so I added those to a few of the pieces. A couple of the pieces I arranged in a particular order, such as the one that looks like a candle, with a couple of clouds above it and earth beneath. Had I really thought about it, I would have picked a piece of orange glass for the small flame instead of blue, but eh, it’s art!
I got a pic of my daughter while she was creating her pieces. She told me she didn’t have many photos of her actually crafting, so… I snapped one. I got photos of my tray of glass bits and a couple of ‘in progress’ photos of my glass projects. Then there’s a final ‘after kiln’ picture of my daughter’s projects as well as mine all together. Finally, the last photo in the gallery that follows is of our front enclosed porch too, so you can see where we’ll be playing games and having cocktails some evenings. When winter is completely done, she will move the snow shovels and such so it will even feel a bit roomier. Plus, we’re going to start some seeds too, in containers that will sit on the windowsills. The box under the table is for all of us to use to recycle cardboard in.

Still undecided
I’m still undecided about creating more AI generated music, so here I sit, reading other blogs, some books, and beginning a new exercise routine. Oh, right, and continue procrastinating about writing my 5th book. I just feel like if no one is buying the first couple of books (that I wrote myself, the two initial books were multi-authored books), then why bother! I know that’s probably not a good way to think, but that’s honestly where my mind has been at lately. Plus, I want to start my calligraphy writing/drawing stuff. Hmm… where do my days go?
About songwriting
Check out my husband’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/richardmurrey and specifically, any songs he put out before Feb. 2025. We counted again and he has written nearly 700 original songs!
Everything happens for a reason in the multiverse with myriad sides to every story
Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason in the multiverse and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness. Even if we have to disconnect from some people, for a time.
Enjoy (IN Joy) everything and love! Be Everything All the Time. Let’s THRIVE in ’25!
Yours in expanding, coexisting (because there’s more than one-side to every story), balancing, spiraling consciousness,

The social channels where I am most active (after thoroughly testing out others in 2024, I’ve dropped a few. My stats revealed almost no one opened my blog posts from Substack, Locals, or Instagram. I still have accounts there but I won’t be posting to those anymore):
The art classes look fun. The art of using glass in craft, in all its forms, are alien to my craft experiences from the past. So it’s great you have variety in classes. And good to read the process. Your AI and music was definitely worth investigations and seeing where it led. Your investigating and accessing new challenges is a fine characteristic to have Sheila. Not all suit but all are worth trying to see if they bring comfort and joy. Cheers Sheila.

Yes, working with glass has been something unexpected. I also finally opened my fountain pen and ink today. I will post about it soon. It wasn’t as tricky as I had imagined, so I am thrilled!

A new therapy awaits Sheila. I wrote a little poem about what happens when writing with a fountain pen.
Therapy inside a fountain pen.
Ink flows fluidly.
Words weave.
Then?
The stories grow.
Questions start.
If I? Could I? Yes!
So where to now
To settle the heart?
Ink spilled dreams
Drip. Trip. Tumble
On to cotton rag.
Extreme?
No! Humble. Yet
Gracefully explain.
With intent they say
‘Embrace your life.
Ink capture new found ideas.
Begin to live….again’.

Maybe I just needed to take a break, I don’t know. Thank you for the encouragement though, Dawn!

I have done crystal wire-wrapping for years, though I am still a novice at it. Ha!
So, yes, I am more an experimenter than expert, no doubt!

Has she done the fused glass jewelry? One of my first blog posts was about the Dichroic glass jewelry a coworker of mine made. It was years ago!
