  1. Sheila, this is a good question, but one with not one simple answer. Coming from someone who grew up abused and ended up in an abusive marriage, and whose family would still be abusive if I had not stood up for myself which ended in being cut out of my family. So here are a couple of things, one being that you are made to feel that you can do nothing right and the other is your feelings are constantly dismissed and you are told that your wrong for how you feel. There are many other things that are signs of being emotionally abused.

    1. Agreed, Julie. I have been made to feel that I could do nothing right and had my feelings (and voice) dismissed due to others feeling so right (that of course I must have been wrong).

      For these and many other reasons, I continued digging for myriad perspectives and why the mirror ball and kaleidoscope are my two favorite tools to help myself pull out of judgment (both for myself and in how I view others).
