It’s July 1st, 2024; We have an original and fun pop song for you this first day of July. This song is ready to help you celebrate the suntan season! Ha! Human flesh container most fine and what makes us complete–head to feet. The radio-ready original pop song ripe with piano licks, sung by Bubba Hudson. A swift and upbeat production by Steven Cooper in Nashville, TN.

We’re off to the lake

Here’s the one-hundred-eighty-third new music post for 2024, as I consistently give you new musical stylings to bathe in. We’re off to the lake today (rescheduled from Saturday) to soak our human flesh in the cool lake water and see some new sights.

This song always helps me take it a bit easier on myself. I let go of the Perfectionist in me years ago! And I’m pretty darned adamant that no one is going to push me into feeling that I need to be perfect anymore either. I learned long ago that hyper-critical people are those who have and are driven by a ‘perfection complex.’ Therefore now, I am feeling pretty comfortable in my own skin. Ha!

My meme: “Here’s a reminder for all of the people pleasers out there: Jesus was literally perfect and people still hated him. Quit putting your worth in what others think about you instead of what God thinks about you.” –@faithfarmingandfamily

Finding comfort in your own skin

Last night my daughter took her 12-year-old daughter and me to a fantastic Live concert show (Recycled Percussion)–one I’d been sooo looking forward to seeing (my daughter had been looking forward to it as well. My daughter had tickets previously but didn’t get to go then because the band had cancelled it). So, we finally got to go and were thrilled to be at the band’s new venue too! My daughter and I got our drinks, got my granddaughter a soda, and made our way to our assigned seats. Everyone got buckets and other things to bang on (since it was mostly a drumming show and they encouraged participation). But during the first song, my granddaughter got very emotional and wanted to go home. Her feelings completely overwhelmed her! The lights, strobing. The music blaring (yes, we’d given her headphones to help her because we knew it would be loud and she’s quite sensitive because she’s on the Autism spectrum). We didn’t know if she could handle it. I took her to the restroom and allowed her time to settle herself into the environment all the while comforting her and telling her she’s more important than any show and if she wanted to go we would. She was concerned that I’d be upset since I’d paid for all of us to go and I assured her I wouldn’t. I had felt I’d gotten my money’s worth during the second song, which we’d seen before hitting the restroom (they were drumming on drums with water dripping to ‘In the Air Tonight’ by Phil Collins–one of my all-time favorite songs). So, after that and my daughter letting my granddaughter know that if she wanted she could stay in the store, while we stayed in the auditorium (the venue is upstairs from the store and restrooms on the first floor to dampen the sound), she seemed to do much better, even taking off the headphones for the second half of the show! I kept my arm around my granddaughter for several songs to continue to let her know she is sooo loved. I didn’t know if that helped or not, or relieved any of my own guilt feelings for putting her in that situation, but she got through it. I also told her many times how proud I was of her ability to persevere. Again, I don’t know if I did the right thing in saying that, but I am hoping so! And when we go to the lake today, we’ll discuss it again and help her continue to feel no matter what, she’s loved!

Yes, Everything Happens for a Reason and Everything Resolves to Gratitude. Knowing that each of us (as fractals) uplifts my mind and allows me to view life as a lively kaleidoscope grand design that moves about in an ever-expanding, revolving, melodious, consciousness.

Enjoy (IN Joy) everything and love! Be Everything All the Time. May we all soar in ’24!

Yours in expanding, always-loving, spiraling consciousness,

Sheila “Spiral Sister” Murrey
