It’s January 31st, 2024; I love the guitar tone in this song! And the sound, to my ears, though a slower tempo, reminds me of the Bakersfield sound and honky tonk genre of Guitars and Cadillacs, which was one of my favorite Dwight Yoakum songs.

The honky tonk country sound

Here’s the thirty-first new music post for 2024, as I consistently offer our original songs for your enjoyment every day this year. This song is about opening up and talking about our feelings. Talk with your love like they’re your friend. Is this love real? Did you think I wouldn’t settle down, or just lead you on? When you have feelings of love that run deep for someone, tell them! What’s the worst that can happen? If they walk away, let them. But perhaps they will tell you they have feelings for you too! If so, they’ll keep showing up at your door.

About the music video

This video marks the return of me using the iMovie app on my MacBook Air to create videos. I used to do this years ago, but since I have more time now that I’m retired, and due to some software issue Richard had on his iMac, we needed to pivot and change things up (with me taking over this task).

Facebook meme author unknown

I love this quote, as for me, this is something I reach for in life as I handle challenges. Let’s talk about it. It’s much more pleasing to discuss things and reach for the wisdom in it instead of reacting from an emotional place.

When we lived off-grid, in the woods during 2020-2021, one of the things my son used to tell me was that I needed to ask for help (for him to help us with things) before getting emotional. Not that I’m a screamer. I was a cryer. Yes, I used to cry much more than yell or scream having always opted for peace since I was raised in a household where yelling and arguing was the norm (and I never liked it).

I am still learning iMovie

I’ll continue making videos in iMovie and figure out the right image size for the photos I plug into it. I had an issue with timing the frames out too. If I put in one image, with it bouncing up and down, which I couldn’t control. So, I just decided to make that part of the art and go with it–at least for one song. It’s not my favorite way to workaround the issue I’d had, but for now, it’s okay. I can live with it. Ha!

Radio-ready songs

The songs I’m sharing are radio-ready, sung by pro singers, and recorded by top music studios in Nashville, TN. We are songwriters currently based in Ocala, Florida. Scroll down for the Vimeo link in the About Us section of this post to see us perform one of our original songs.

May we all soar in ’24!

Find our songs on Spotify

It’s funny. Many of our original songs have been on CDBaby and TuneCore for years. Some of our songs are on Spotify at different locations. The key when you’re searching is to look for ‘Richard Murrey’ as the artist, OR ‘Chevy Ford Band.’ Let me know if that’s helpful. Here are a couple Spotify links if this helps:

  1. Song has a great vibe. Also. Great that you mention iMovie here too. I looked for an App months ago and got spooked with the inclusions within them. My old iPad couldn’t cope with the system need or whatever is required to download. You triggered me to look at my new iPad and it has the iMovie app. I’m a technophobe. Have no idea what is possible on this thing I’m typing on now! So, iMovie beckons. All systems go…….. well after a few months fathoming how to use it. 😊 Cheers Sheila.

    1. Yes, Gray, I think iMovie has a lot to offer and will require more of my time to do anything fancy. Here’s a silly video I made with it YEARS ago and spent way too much time on trying to get the mouth movements to sync with the lyrics only to find that all got distorted after uploading the video to YouTube anyway (crushed me at the time)! LOL
I have never played with an iPad but think I would like it. Cheers, Gray. Oh and glad you liked the song too!

      1. That was fun. Looks complicated to get a film together though! Well done you. I think I will seek someone local who can do these movie uploads. I have some strange stories regarding dentures in hospital. The classic is the nurse story about her washing them all under a tap, collectively together in a bowl. Then not knowing who’s was who’s. Whether it is an urban nurse myth or not……😆 Who knows! The iPad I have is very high gigabyte. So a nice thing to use for blogging, music apps, etc. Cheers.
